Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a summer of huge spending in north London, but it appears as though Roberto De Zerbi is eyeing more acquisitions before the transfer window closes

Roberto De Zerbi is keen on welcoming Savinho from Manchester City as well as two other signings ahead of the transfer window drawing to a close.

Having already overhauled his defence and midfield ahead of the new season, the Italian is now turning his attention to his attacking line.

A number of talents have been linked with a move to north London to play a part in the Italian's long-term project.

However, the Lilywhites have identified City winger, Savinho, as a top target ahead of the transfer window slamming shut in a matter of weeks.

The Brazilian fuelled speculation about his future at the Etihad Stadium when he was absent from team training on Thursday, ahead of Manchester City's Community Shield clash with Arsenal - which kicks off at 3pm later today.

However, Enzo Maresca has since issued an update on Savinho, explaining how the 22-year-old's absence was a result of him being ill, and not due to speculation linking him with a move away from Greater Manchester.

The head coach told the media: "He was not part of the session, he was a little bit ill. We'll see today, the session is in the afternoon, so we'll see how he is today and we'll decide [whether he is available vs Arsenal]."

It comes as Spurs are thought to be working on an £85million move for Savinho, who has been a major target for the club for the majority of the summer.

The forward is said to have handed in a transfer request with his current club, as he looks to secure more frequent first-team football elsewhere - starting just seven Premier League matches under Pep Guardiola in 2025/26.

Savinho isn't the only target that Spurs are currently looking at, however. The club are thought to be working on a £70m move for Liverpool's Cody Gakpo, whose future at Anfield is up in the air under new head coach, Andoni Iraola.

The Reds have been tailing Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola for the majority of the summer, as the look for a fresh face on the left. And selling Gakpo to Spurs would bolster the Merseyside-based outfit's transfer war chest substantially.

Elsewhere, De Zerbi is understood to be seeking a new centre-forward, following a mixed-bag season from both Richarlison and Dominic Solanke.

Galatasaray's Victor Osimhen has been suggested as a fit for the club, with sources close to the Turkish Super Lig club explaining that a £60m bid could be enough to land him.
