Mathys Tel has sent a message of thanks away from Tottenham, after what he described as a “beautiful adventure”.
The winger spent the second half of last season on loan at Spurs from Bayern Munich and helped the North London side win their first piece of major silverware in 18 years.
Brennan Johnson scored the only goal in the Europa League final, with Tel an unused substitute as he watched his side beat Manchester United to secure the trophy.
The Frenchman played five times en route to the final, as well as making 13 Premier League appearances, scoring two goals.
Tel knocked out of Under-21 Euros
After the conclusion of the season and his six-month loan spell, Tottenham announced the permanent signing of Tel from Bayern Munich.
The 20-year-old has joined on a six-year deal, which will see him remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2031.

Following his permanent move, the winger jetted off with the France Under-21 side to compete in the European Championships in Slovakia.
The young French side cruised through the group stages, and Tel scored an 85th-minute winner in their quarter-final win over Denmark.
However, the new Spurs signing’s tournament came to an end, as France were beaten 3-0 by Germany in the semi-finals.
Following his country’s exit from the competition, Tel took to Instagram to share a number of photos from the game on his story, with the caption: “Thank you for this beautiful adventure.”
Tottenham battle for more attackers
Football Insider Verdict
Despite securing the services of Tel on a long-term basis, Tottenham are still in the market for some more attackers to bolster their ranks.
Spurs hold an interest in Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, who impressed for the Cherries last season as they secured a ninth-place finish in the Premier League.
Semenyo started all but two league games for Andoni Iraola’s side, scoring 11 goals and picking up six assists.
Tottenham were also looking at Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, but it was revealed on Friday (27 June) that Thomas Frank’s side have slightly backed away from a deal.
