Gianluigi Donnarumma has reached an agreement in principle with Manchester City, reports L’Equipe.

The goalkeeper’s exit from Paris Saint-Germain has accelerated over the past 48 hours, with the Italian already announcing on social media that he has been forced to look for an exit from the Ligue 1 side.

Donnarumma is said to have now agreed on a contract with City and is keen to make the move to the Etihad Stadium. He has also already spoken at length with Pep Guardiola about making the switch.

Newcastle are closing in on a deal to sign Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Talks are nearing an agreement over a £40million deal for the playmaker, with clubs in contact to try and wrap up negotiations as soon as possible.

The Magpies will be pleased to get another new signing in through the door, having announced the arrival of Malick Thiaw from AC Milan earlier this evening.

Manchester United are insistent that they are not interested in signing Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer, reports BBC Sport.

The Italian has released a statement this evening confirming that he is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain, hinting that manager Luis Enrique is the driving force behind his exit.

As a result, United and Manchester City have both been linked with the shot-stopper, but those at Old Trafford deny being interested in the ex-AC Milan star as they are not prioritising a move for a goalkeeper at this time.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique has confirmed that Gianluigi Donnarumma is no longer part of his plans at the Parc des Princes.

Speaking ahead of the Super Cup, he said: “Donnarumma is out of the squad as it’s my own decision. I am 100% responsible

“I want a different kind of goalkeeper and I made this decision. Gigio is one of the best GKs in the whole world.”

Everton have announced the signing of Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City.

The England international has joined the Toffees on an initial loan deal, but there is a £50million option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

After falling out of favour at City, Grealish will be keen to get his career back on track under David Moyes and put himself back in the picture for the England squad at the 2026 World Cup.

Liverpool have now opened talks with Crystal Palace over a deal for Marc Guehi, reports The Athletic.

The Reds are yet to table an offer for the defender but have now amped up their interest.

Liverpool would also need to strike a deal with Guehi over the move, with the England international seeking assurances over game time given that the World Cup is set to take place later this year.

Former England goalkeeper David James has backed James Trafford for success at Manchester City after his move from Burnley.

“It will be interesting to see how James Trafford’s distribution compares to Ederson’s," James told William Hill.

"Manchester City are more than capable of beating most teams in the Premier League, they’ve done so across many seasons, and a lot of that comes down to Ederson’s passing range - it is so important to how City play, and how teams look to play against them.“When you are the Man City goalkeeper, you have very little to do, certainly less than Trafford will have done at Burnley, even last season when they were dominating in the Championship.“But I don’t think it will be too long until Pep Guardiola gives Trafford an opportunity – Ederson’s contract expires at the end of the season, so that’s a factor.

"Trafford has Premier League experience, and had a fantastic season with Burnley, keeping 29 clean sheets, which is just phenomenal. I expect him to do well.”

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas is not confident that Viktor Gyokeres can hit the ground running instantly at the club.

"Will Viktor Gyokeres be able to adapt straight away? Personally, I don't think so," Gallas told Jackpot City Casino.

"It doesn't mean it's not a good player, but when players come from abroad we usually see that it takes time.

"Strikers often take time, playing in Portugal is also completely different to playing in England, but Arsenal do need him to adapt straight away because their target is to win the Premier League.

"If I could’ve chosen between Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, I think Isak would’ve been a better option. We know he is proven in the Premier League and that he is 100% at the level.

"If Gyokeres can go and score 20 goals, it will be a good season."

Alexander Isak has taken his efforts to leave Newcastle to a new level by moving out of his North East home, according to reports.

The Times claim that Isak's property was put on the rental market a day after his omission from a players and families day organised by Eddie Howe.

The 25-year-old striker wants to join Liverpool, who fell short of Newcastle's £150m valuation with their first bid worth £110m.

Isak's latest actions should encourage the Reds to submit an improved offer.

Manchester United will make a formal bid for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba if they believe there is a chance of success, according to The Athletic.

Baleba is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford and has already been in touch with some of Ruben Amorim's players.

But Brighton do not want to sell the 21-year-old this summer and would likely demand a fee higher than the club-record £89m paid for Paul Pogba in 2016.

It's claimed that United are determined to back Amorim with a new midfielder.

Alexander Isak is adament that he will not play for Newcastle United again as he attempts to force his way out before the deadline, according to The Athletic.

Even if the 25-year-old striker is still at St. James' Park when the summer window shuts, he considers his Newcastle career over and has no desire to reintegrate into Eddie Howe's squad.

The Magpies maintain that Isak is not for sale but are naturally exploring the striker market amid Liverpool's continued interest.

Alan Pardew and Gabby Agbonlahor agree that Alexander Isak should face the consequences of his actions after trying to force a Newcastle United exit this summer.

Isak has essentially gone on strike at Newcastle as he eyes a move to Liverpool, but that hasn't come to fruition.

Pardew told talkSPORT: "The transfer to me looks like it can't be done because Newcastle are going to dig their heels in now, and I think they are angry. I would also be if I were on the Newcastle board.

"I would dig my heels in, so the fee could go really silly. The problem is, he's handled it so badly. He couldn't have handled it any worse.

"His agents and advisors have told him to down tools after serving that great football club, and he's doing really bad things to hold them to ransom and more or less force a way out."

Agbonlahor added: "And so he should [have to earn the right to return to the squad], because it sets a bad example to other players, if he's straight back in and training like nothing's happened.

"He refused to go on tour with the team, which is wild, walked out of training, went and trained with [former employers] Real Sociedad as well. So he should be punished."
