Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Igor Tudor has already been hammering his players just a few days into his reign, according to the Telegraph.
The Croatian started life as the club’s manager with a 4-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
Tudor was far from pleased with the result and his players’ performances, and his reaction at full-time was telling.
Rather than consoling his players who lingered on the pitch, the Lilywhites boss shook hands with his Arsenal counterpart Mikel Arteta and headed straight down the tunnel.
Tudor was spotted shouting towards Tottenham defenders Radu Dragusin and Micky van de Ven to drag the back three higher up the pitch during the game.
He was just as vocal in his first training sessions last week and will hope his aggressive style yields much-needed results.
Yesterday’s defeat leaves Spurs in 16th place in the table, but they are now four points above the relegation zone.
They are back in action next Sunday with a trip to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham, and they could do with all three points.
Tottenham face Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest afterwards in the Premier League, and they have to pick up as many points as possible to boost their survival chances.
It remains to be seen whether Tudor’s no-nonsense approach will work, but Spurs appointed Bruno Saltor to his coaching staff to try to bring the squad closer together.
He has a reputation for being a popular character in his previous jobs and will hope to get the best out of the players over the next few weeks.
