It’s first-v-second in the Under-18 Premier League on Tuesday evening when our youngsters host Chelsea at Hotspur Way (5pm UK, live on SPURSPLAY).
After jumping above the Blues into pole position a few weeks ago, our Under-18s have opened up a four-point gap at the top and are enjoying a nine-game unbeaten league run, but our London rivals still have two games in hand and returned to form with a 3-0 win at Brighton on Saturday, having lost three of their previous four.
With that in mind, Tuesday’s match looks set to be a key contest in the title race, with coach Jamie Carr looking forward to seeing how his players perform under a degree of additional pressure.
“As an Academy, you want the occasions where the players have to step up and find themselves in a bit of a different situation to a normal game,” he said.
“I think that’s what’s going to come against Chelsea. We’ll be playing an evening fixture, there’s plenty on the line for the boys and we’ll get to see them up against a good side.”
