Mohammed Kudus delivered a sparkling display on his Spurs Premier League debut as Tottenham Hotspur brushed aside Burnley 3-0 in North London on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
The Ghanaian playmaker was at the heart of everything positive for Spurs, producing two assists that lit up Thomas Frank’s first league victory in charge.
His first contribution came midway through the first half when he picked out Richarlison with a teasing cross, which the Brazilian volleyed in to break the deadlock.
If that moment showcased Kudus’ vision, his second was pure artistry. Another precise delivery from the 25-year-old found Richarlison again, and Tottenham’s No 9 responded with a spectacular acrobatic volley that left the crowd in awe and is already being tipped as a Goal of the Season contender.
The home fans had barely finished celebrating when Brennan Johnson rounded off a sweeping team move, dinking the ball delicately over Martin Dubravka to make it three.
Kudus had shown flashes of his talent in Spurs’ Super Cup defeat to PSG earlier in the week, but this time, he stamped his authority on the game from start to finish, tormenting Burnley with his energy, creativity and precise end product.
Dream Debut: Kudus shines with two assists in Tottenham’s win over Burnley
His link-up with Richarlison, in particular, hinted at a partnership that could define Tottenham’s new era under Frank.
For Spurs, it was three points. For Kudus, it was a dream introduction and one that has already left supporters eager for more.
