Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney shared his two cents on the Red Devils’ upcoming encounter with Spurs in the Premier League this week.

The Red Devils have not lost in their last four Premier League matches and Manchester United have won three of their last four league fixtures this season.

United were on a three-match Premier League winning streak ahead of dropping points on Saturday afternoon to Nottingham Forest at City Ground.

Casemiro opened the scoring for United against Nottingham Forest on the weekend before the Red Devils blew their 1-0 lead in the first five minutes of the second half.

Morgan Gibbs-White netted for Sean Dyche’s men in the 48th minute before Nicolo Savona fired Nottingham Forest into the lead over United only two minutes later.

United were fortunate to snatch an important point at City Ground on Saturday after Amad Diallo found the all-important equaliser with a sensational first-time volley.

Wayne Rooney on what Tottenham vs Man Utd will mean for both Premier League teams

Manchester United have dropped to eighth place after the 2-2 Premier League result against Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest side away from home on the weekend.

Ruben Amorim’s men now face a tough test in the Premier League ahead of the November international break, with United visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham are level on points with United and Spurs are fifth in the Premier League table, but Thomas Frank’s men suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

Wayne Rooney has now insisted that a win for either United or Tottenham in this Saturday’s “massive” Premier League clash could be a huge boost this season.

“It’s a big game, I think, after United [have] obviously [had their] recent run,” he said on BBC Sport’s The Wayne Rooney Show.

“They look to be back into a decent place, anyway. And so, I think it’s a big game after Tottenham losing to Chelsea.

“Whoever wins that, [it] could really kick them on. Whoever loses it, [it] could be a tough one to take that. So, I think it’s a massive game coming up then.”

Tottenham fan Michael McIntyre tells Wayne Rooney his feelings about Spurs and Man Utd’s upcoming match

Joining United legend Rooney on the podcast was British comedian Michael McIntyre, who is a lifelong Tottenham fan, after this weekend’s results.

Michael McIntyre admitted that United could be a real test for Spurs, with the stand-up comedian praising the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

“Manchester United? Oh my god. They’re fantastic for us,” he said.

“We played them four times last season – in our worst ever season – and we managed to beat them four times.”

McIntyre continued: “Now, I think we’re going to really struggle, to be honest. Man United look really good. Mbeumo is obviously great, Cunha, I mean, I’m terrified.

“But the thing about Spurs-Man United is we’re both terrified of each other because we’re both equally stressed and have very little faith in our own teams.

“So, I don’t know, could go either way. I think it’ll be fun to watch.”

United and Spurs’ Premier League clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is slated for a 12:30pm kick-off time on Saturday.
