Tottenham will be hoping to start their 2024/25 Premier League as they did the last, as they take on newly-promoted Leicester City on Monday evening.

Ange Postecoglou's side didn't lose a Premier League game until November last season, and after adding Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall in the transfer window so far, Spurs will be hoping they can make a similar start in this campaign. They will have to make do without Yves Bissouma, after he was suspended for this game for off-field issues, but new signings Solanke and Gray are likely to make their debuts.

Can Tottenham get off to a winning start in the Premier League? Let's take a look.

We simulated Leicester City vs Tottenham to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions, however as we're still using EA FC 24, the kits and squad numbers may not be accurate.

We predict that Spurs could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Gray, Maddison; Son, Solanke, Kulusevski.

We predict that Leicester City could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Hermansen; Justin, Vestergaard, Faes, Peirera; Winks, Ndidi; De Cordova-Reid, Fatawu, Mavididi; Daka.

The away side were absolutely flying in the opening stages, with Daka and Fatawu both going close in the first few minutes to give Tottenham a scare early on. But after weathering the storm, Spurs grew into the game and were soon in the ascendancy, and in the 35th minute, it was the former Leicester City man James Maddison who gave the away side the lead, with a beautifully taken finish on the counter.

Led by new signing Gray, the youngster fed Son Heung-min who cut inside and played in Maddison, who then beat Vestergard with a stepover before curling a finish into the bottom corner with his weaker foot. The second half was much quieter, but Spurs still could have extended their lead, with Solanke in particular unlucky to grab a goal on debut after hitting the post late on.

EA FC 24 predicts that Tottenham will start their 2024/25 Premier League campaign with a win against newly-promoted Leicester City on Monday, with Maddison scoring the only goal in what could be a closely-matched game.

EA FC 24 predicted final score: Leicester City 0-1 Tottenham
