West Ham United may finally be showing signs of life under Nuno Espírito Santo, with back-to-back Premier League wins injecting some much-needed optimism into what has been a difficult season.
But despite the uplift, the Hammers remain in the relegation zone, and it’s clear that January reinforcements are essential — particularly in attack and out wide, where consistency has been hard to come by beyond Jarrod Bowen.
Now, in a surprising twist, West Ham are reportedly eyeing an unexpected target from a fierce London rival.
West Ham Considering Solomon Move
A report from Spain claims that West Ham are weighing up a January move for Tottenham winger Manor Solomon.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the 26-year-old is unhappy on loan at Villarreal, where he has struggled to settle and is frustrated by his lack of playing time. The winger is said to have informed Tottenham that he wants his loan spell terminated early so he can return to England.
That potential Premier League return could open the door for West Ham.
With Nuno keen to add pace, creativity and versatility in the wide areas, Solomon is viewed as a player who can operate across the front line and bring something different to the attack. His ceiling is certainly high — Kevin De Bruyne once described him as “excellent” — and his spell at Leeds last season showcased exactly why.
While on loan in the Championship, Solomon registered 10 goals and 12 assists, offering a mix of sharp movement, ball-carrying ability, and end product from the flanks.
A deal won’t necessarily be straightforward. Historically, West Ham and Tottenham have rarely done business, but with Daniel Levy no longer directly handling all negotiations — and the Kudus-to-Spurs deal in the summer proceeding without issues — the relationship between the clubs may be less frosty than years past.
Given Luis Guilherme looks set to leave and Adama Traoré is strongly linked, Solomon could provide a more technical, creative alternative to the raw pace Nuno already favours.
Whether Spurs would sanction a move to a local rival is another matter entirely — but West Ham’s interest is very real.
