Tottenham have confirmed that Fabio Paratici has returned to the club as sporting director, and this could impact Harry Kane’s possible return to North London.
Paratici is officially Tottenham’s sporting director again, with his 30-month ban from FIFA having now come to an end.
Alongside Johan Lange, the pair will be tasked with continuing to strengthen Tottenham Hotspur’s squad, and there is a hope Kane could be one of those players.
The Bayern Munich striker has been linked with a return to Spurs, and with Paratici now back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, this could play a key role in any potential deal.
Harry Kane was a big fan of Fabio Paratici at Tottenham
Back in September 2022, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Harry Kane was actually a big fan of Fabio Paratici at Tottenham.
Following the talk about the striker wanting to leave, Paratici convinced Kane to stay at Tottenham by selling him their project under Antonio Conte.
During the summer prior, Manchester City wanted Kane; however, Conte and Paratici impressed him, along with Champions League qualification, which stopped him from agitating for a move away.
Now, with Kane linked with a return to Tottenham next summer, perhaps Paratici could again convince him to make the switch back to N17.
Speaking about the situation, Romano told his YouTube channel: “First important point is about Tottenham because we remember that a bit more than one year ago, Harry Kane wanted to leave. But now the situation is completely different.
“Harry Kane is happy with Tottenham, he’s happy with Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici. The Italians have changed the feeling for the club. Of course, together with Daniel Levy, but the work of Antonio Conte has been something special.
“Fabio Paratici, the new director, arrived last summer and did something really important to change the atmosphere around Tottenham and around Kane.
“So, at the moment, Kane is happy at Tottenham. He’s not in a rush to leave the club, as it was one year ago. So the situation is completely different.”
Fabio Paratici must offload Richarlison to make room for Harry Kane
Currently, Tottenham are rather overwhelmed with striker options, with Richarlison, Randal Kolo Muani, Mathys Tel and Dominic Solanke.
Kolo Muani could end up returning to PSG following the end of his loan spell, but Spurs would still need to sell one more player to make room for Kane. That player has to be Richarlison.
Following Richarlison’s promising start under Thomas Frank, the excitement has started to die down, and the Brazilian hasn’t been in quite such hot form.
Next summer, any chance Paratici has to cash in on the 28-year-old, he must take it, with a move to the MLS being touted.
