Our run of 81 games without a goalless draw in the Barclays Women’s Super League eventually came to an end on Sunday as we played out a 0-0 with Arsenal.

A disciplined defensive display in front of a record-breaking crowd at Brisbane Road - 6,778 in attendance - saw us secure a well-deserved point in the north London derby.

Not since our 0-0 draw at Reading in March, 2022, had we seen a scoreless stalemate in England’s top flight until now - just a remarkable 81 games later in the WSL.

Having completed a further seven games in the 2021/22 campaign, we then went an entirety of three WSL seasons without a goalless draw – a total of 69 games.

And while we were held to a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa in the Women’s League Cup earlier in the season – where we went on to win on penalties – we recorded our first 0-0 in the WSL after nine games this campaign to end a run lasting three years, eight months and 10 days.

The point gained in the north London derby continues our impressive start to the campaign, currently sat fifth in the table with 16 points – just four points shy off last season’s total in 13 games less.

While it was another clean sheet for Lize Kop and our whole backline as we registered our fourth in the WSL – six in all competitions – the joint-highest with Chelsea's Hannah Hampton in the WSL at this stage of the season.
