Leeds and Tottenham have been involved in several memorable deals over the years.
It was Spurs who took both Aaron Lennon and Danny Rose from Elland Road in 2005 and 2007 respectively, also nabbing Archie Gray in July 2024 as Joe Rodon moved in the opposite direction.
In that respect, Leeds do not really owe Tottenham any favours at all, although the Whites could soon help send a £5m package to N17 if a deal for Troy Parrott materialises.
Tottenham Hotspur will be watching closely as Leeds United scout Troy Parrott
Leeds United News have been told that Leeds scouted Parrott at the Aviva Stadium on Thursday as he scored twice in a 2-0 win for Ireland over Portugal, keeping his nation’s World Cup hopes alive.
AZ Alkmaar are understood to value their No.9 at £25m.
Crucially, that figure is an inflated one as Tottenham hold a 20% sell-on clause in his contract, having sold Parrott to the Eredivisie outfit in a £6.7m deal back in July 2024.
It means, if Leeds cough up that £25m asking price and sign the Irishman in January, Spurs will see a welcome £5m chunk of cash added to their accounts in a surprise financial boost.

Leeds United did not negotiate a similar clause for Archie Gray
Unfortunately, if Archie Gray does similarly to Parrott and finds some form in his career, Leeds will not stand to benefit from their academy graduate’s achievements like Spurs might.
The Yorkshire Evening Post confirmed at the time of his £40m switch to north London that Leeds failed to insert any sell-on clause in the agreement.
That was mainly due to the fact Leeds were not in the strongest negotiating position, with Profitability and Sustainability Rules forcing them to cash in on a star player that summer.
