Luca Williams-Barnett and Jun’ai Byfield were both on target while Tynan Thompson supplied an assist as England Under-18s rounded off the Costa De La Luz tournament in Spain with a 3-2 win over Canada on Tuesday.

Already confirmed as winners of the competition following back-to-back wins last week, the Young Lions made it three out of three with a solid performance in their final game before heading home.

Winger Tynan set up attacking midfielder Luca to open the scoring after just five minutes, before defender and captain Jun’ai made it 2-0 in the lead-up to half-time after an initial effort was saved.

All three players started the game and played the first 45 minutes before being replaced, with the fourth Spur in the squad, Malachi Hardy, coming on at the break in place of Jun’ai.

Chizaram Ezenwata of Chelsea scored England’s other goal, making it 3-1 after Canada had pulled one back. Canada scored again in the latter stages before Ezenwata missed a penalty in a dramatic end to the game.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Callum Olusesi started and played 62 minutes for England Under-19s as they rounded off their trip to Spain with a 4-1 victory over the Netherlands at the Pinatar Arena, while Oliver Boast and Oscar Sandiford featured as second-half substitutes in England Under-17s’ enthralling 7-5 win over Germany.
