The midfielder is set to depart Tottenham on a free transfer in June.
Tottenham Hotspur are planning to ensure they are not in another relegation battle next season after securing survival on the final day of the 2025/26 campaign.
Roberto De Zerbi is keen to strengthen his squad after achieving his objective of keeping Spurs afloat in the Premier League. He wants to bring in players that suit his philosophy and tactical demands. However, Spurs also need to get rid of the deadwood to make space in the squad for the arrival of fresh faces.
Yves Bissouma seemingly sends a goodbye message to Tottenham supporters
Yves Bissouma did not feature much throughout the season due to a combination of injuries, indiscipline, and off-field issues. The combative midfielder managed only 11 Premier League appearances after spending much of the campaign on the sidelines. He did get some game time under De Zerbi during the final run-in, as the Lilywhites were desperately fighting to avoid relegation.
With Yves Bissouma coming to the end of his contract in N17, he has now sent a hint about his next step. The Malian international has seemingly sent out a message that his time at Tottenham is up.
“As the season comes to an end, I just want to thank the club, the staff, my teammates, and all the supporters for the love and support throughout the year. Grateful for every moment. Thank you for everything, Spursofficial,” Bissouma wrote on his Instagram account.
Bissouma has Turkish clubs waiting to pounce
Tottenham have reportedly decided against renewing Bissouma’s contract for a further year, allowing him to leave as a free agent when his current contract expires in June. The 29-year-old has really failed to live up to the expectations at Spurs across four years, and the Hotspur Way chiefs are right in not handing him an extension.
