Tottenham man sends four-word message to Chelsea rival after Nations League triumph

Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has sent a message to international teammate and Premier League rival Marc Cucurella.

Both the Spurs man and Chelsea full-back started on opposing flanks at full-back during Spain's UEFA Nations League encounter with Denmark. The reigning European Champions ran out 2-1 winners to extend their lead at the top of the group, moving six points clear of the Dane's with just one match remaining.

Cucurella and Porro had differing matches with the Blues stopper forced to do defending during the contest, while the former Sporting CP defender was a creative force down the right for Luis de la Fuerte's side.

The 26-year-old was pleased with his evening's work in Copenhagen and took to Instagram to express his delight at Spain's qualification for the playoff. He wrote: "Great game from the team to qualify for the next round!

"Let's keep going!!" Porro was among the Spain stars to join in the plaudits for the defender. He commented: "You are so good."

Cucurella scooped the player of the match award in Chelsea's final match before the international as they came from behind to earn a draw against Arsenal. He said: "We finish now in the top four before the international break, so I think we are starting to do things well.

"It’s early and we still have a lot of games to play, but we need to be proud of the job we’ve been doing and keep working hard because the league is long and we want to stay at the top.

"We started a new project with a new manager and new ideas only a few months ago, so we need to be proud of the performance. We need to keep going at this level. If we play hard and train hard I think we can do good things this season. We have top players and a top young squad with a lot of ambition.

"For sure it’s early, so we have a lot of things to improve. Going into the international break third signifies that we are doing things well but we cannot relax. We need to keep working and be ambitious. We have the talent but we need to show on the pitch every week that we deserve to stay in the top four."

Tottenham have plenty of injuries to contend with and Ange Postecoglou will be hoping for some relief in that department once the international break comes to a close.

The Spurs boss currently has six potential players unavailable and the prospect of now losing Rodrigo Bentancur to what has been reported as a seven-game suspension in the weeks ahead. The north London side return to Premier League action after the international break with a tough trip to the Etihad Stadium to face the reigning champions. Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

Here's a look at all of Tottenham's squad doubts and when they are expected to return to action for Postecoglou in the weeks or months ahead.

Cristian Romero

Technically the Spurs vice-captain was back to face Ipswich after suffering an injury to his right foot in the win against Aston Villa, but he then went off at half-time in Argentina's defeat in Paraguay this week with pain in the same foot according to reports in his homeland and was being sent for further tests. He was not expected to take part in his country's second game.

Romero, who announced earlier this year that he is set to become a father for the second time, is a big player for Postecoglou even if he hasn't been on top form this season so far.

Return date: To be confirmed but hopefully nine days without a match should help.

Micky van de Ven

The Dutchman has been out since feeling pain in his hamstring in the Carabao Cup win against Manchester City. Postecoglou gave a further update a couple of weeks ago that the injury was not as bad as first feared and said: "[Micky] will be after the international break. When after it will be dictated by his progress during that time. The end of the international break is probably about four weeks. It’ll be some time after that. When exactly we’ll have to see."

All eyes will be on whether that exact time will be a return to try again against City or whether that comes too soon for Van de Ven.

Return date: After the international break.

Timo Werner

We're including Werner in this list because he's been carrying a groin injury and although he came back to face Ipswich, it would seem highly unlikely that the problem vanished in a couple of days.

These two weeks might have helped more in that respect in resting the problem and allowing some healing to happen, but Postecoglou will reveal more next week.

Return date: Likely to be available to face City but might not be 100%

Richarlison

The Brazilian has had a nightmare with injuries since joining Spurs and this season has been no different. The club had been taking it carefully with him, only for Richarlison to badly injure his hamstring while setting up Dominic Solanke's goal against Aston Villa.

"He was very disappointed. I think I said in the lead up, we tried to take a different approach, he worked awfully hard on his rehab but also his general fitness," said Postecoglou. "He'd really trimmed down in terms of his conditioning. He was doing everything right, we eased him back into playing, we didn't want to overload him and unfortunately he broke down again.

"He's disappointed but ultimately, we've just got to keep getting him back in there and work with him to get him back up because he's an important player. You saw last week the impact he had coming off the bench and setting up the goal for him. Disappointing for him, disappointing for us because we haven't really had him at our disposal this year.

"But we'll just keep working with Richy and try to get him back. I'm reticent to put [a time on] it but he'll be out for a significant amount of time. It's a significant hamstring injury."

Return date: A "significant" amount of time.

Wilson Odobert

The 19-year-old French winger has played just 162 minutes in the Premier League this season after suffering a hamstring injury against Coventry in the Carabao Cup in September. Odobert returned to action in the final couple of minutes of the Europa League game against AZ Alkmaar in late October only to suffer another problem.

Postecoglou confirmed last month that the teenager had suffered a serious setback in his attempts to return to the Tottenham squad.

"The only one missing out, which is a bit of a disappointment is Wilson," he said. "He's had a setback during the week and it seems like it's a serious one, so we're waiting for more information. It's not exactly the same [injury] but same area."

On Saturday, Odobert provided his own update on his injury with a photo from a bed at what he posted was The Princess Grace Hospital in Marylebone, London along with the caption 'Thanks God'.

Tottenham supporters will be hoping that if that means the winger has had surgery on his hamstring then the operation was a successful one. Surgery on a hamstring injury is often a last resort and has meant months out for those who have had them in recent seasons, like young defender Alfie Dorrington late last season.

Return date: Could be months if he's had surgery.

Mikey Moore

The 17-year-old was flying for Spurs and then got laid low this month by a nasty virus. It knocked Moore for six and meant he missed a couple of matches.

It's going to take the teenager a little while to get back to where he was with his fitness as viruses often linger in your system for a while but hopefully he'll be available for short periods of time from the bench as he builds his levels back up again.

Return date: Hopefully he will be able to be on the bench for the City game.

Tottenham winger Wilson Odobert has posted an injury update from a London hospital bed as he seeks to end his nightmare start to life at the north London club.

Spurs signed the 19-year-old French winger in the summer in a £30million deal from Burnley but he has played just 162 minutes in the Premier League this season after suffering a hamstring injury against Coventry in the Carabao Cup in September. Odobert returned to action in the final couple of minutes of the Europa League game against AZ Alkmaar in late October only to suffer another problem.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed last month that the teenager had suffered a serious setback in his attempts to return to the Tottenham squad.

Odobert then added a passage from the Bible, which said: "The Lord himself will go before you, and he will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you; do not fear or be dismayed."

The Frenchman made a bright start in his early weeks at Tottenham after his move from Burnley but barely got to work with Postecoglou and his players before his injury. He will be hoping to return in time to have an impact for the north London outfit in the second half of the season.

Tottenham's big January transfer window decisions Ange Postecoglou must make

Description

Ange Postecoglou is struggling for numbers right now with his Tottenham Hotspur squad and attention has already turned to the upcoming January transfer window.

The Spurs boss has not had the widest array of options in recent weeks to turn with the north London club having more players missing one match or more through injury than any other team in the Premier League so far this season and Rodrigo Bentancur is now expected to miss seven games through suspension.

While Tottenham must continue to keep within their squad limits and rules for homegrown and foreign players, Postecoglou will need to continue his squad revamp in the January window.

We've taken a look at each department of Spurs' squad to see what the Spurs boss needs:

Goalkeeper

Postecoglou is going to have to make a decision on this department. Whether that comes in January or at the end of the season remains to be seen, but Spurs need a goalkeeper for the long-term to challenge Guglielmo Vicario and 36-year-old Fraser Forster's contract is coming to an end this summer.

Whether the former England international remains as an experienced, popular head within the squad, despite not entirely fitting Postecoglou's high line football, will need to be decided. But his continued involvement ahead of Brandon Austin, who signed a new five-year contract at the end of last season, and Alfie Whiteman suggests that Postecoglou is not sold on either academy product being able to challenge Vicario at this point despite them being 25 and 26 respectively.

Austin and Whiteman, whose contract is up in the summer, are Spurs' only two senior club-trained players for their Europa League squad and any potential new incoming keeper would have to replace someone else in that squad if they were to be registered for the knockout stages.

It could be that if Tottenham make a move in this department in January it is to secure a goalkeeper to arrive in time for next season but it certainly seems to be an area of the squad that will need to be addressed in the next six months or so.

Full-back

Spurs' full-back situation is summed up by the fact that Destiny Udogie has had to play more minutes than any other outfield player at the club with 1,207 to his name.

The situation has been compounded by the fact that Postecoglou does not particularly see Ben Davies as a left-back any more and needs him as a centre-back anyway, and also that the Australian chose not to register Djed Spence for the Europa League, naming Forster instead in the final non-locally trained spot.

That has meant an overreliance on Udogie, who missed much of pre-season following his quadriceps surgery, and new £40million midfield signing Archie Gray has been needed on both flanks as a full-back.

On the right there's Djed Spence, who signed a new contract recently, and Gray played a lot of last season as a right-back for Leeds so there's cover on that side but Postecoglou could do with another left-back if Spence is not going to be used there in any competition.

Tottenham will need a natural left-back anyway going forward for the long-term to compete with Udogie as Davies' contract is coming to its end.

Central defence

Postecoglou has four options in this position in the shape of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin and Davies. However, with four competitions to play in this season, those options are already looking stretched before the FA Cup enters the fray.

With Davies' contract currently heading towards its conclusion this summer and not technically a natural centre-back anyway, Tottenham will have to make a decision in this position in January.

When football.london put it to Postecoglou toward the end of the summer window that he had swapped Eric Dier for Radu Dragusin and last season admitted he wanted another centre-back, so surely needed another natural man in the middle of the back four, the Australian played down the idea this time around.

"No, and I don't think we're in the same position. I think Radu is a different proposition for us, and certainly with Archie coming into the group and Djed probably not being in the plans initially, but now in I think we're in a much different position than we were last year," he said.

"We've got Ben Davies as well, obviously, who can play at centre back or at left back. But again, I mean, that's the discipline of it. Yeah, we can go out and sign another centre back, but if the right player's not there, I'm not going to do it. It's as simple as that. I'm not, I never have, I never will.

"For me, it's about getting the right people in and there wasn't an opportunity for us to bring in someone who I thought was going to add to our group, so we don't do it. We've got Ashley Phillips, we've got young Luka Vuskovic available next year. Two young centre-backs.

"I don't want to block their pathway by doing something now. It might look from the outside, like we've got another player, but if that player is not going to be suitable to what we're doing and not going fit in, why would I bring them in and potentially block the path for somebody else."

It's a big decision for Postecoglou to make in this window because he needs the cover in the short term. It could be that the right player emerges on the market for the long-term, with Davies' deal coming to an end, or he decides to wait and look first at Vuskovic when he arrives as an 18-year-old in the summer. Another option could be to recall Phillips if possible in January from a loan at Stoke that has only just started to bring starts, although Postecoglou appears yet to be truly convinced by the player who is yet to play for Spurs competitively.

Tottenham's injuries in this position with Van de Ven's hamstring and Romero's dodgy toe could clear up in the near future but it's a huge call to not bring in another defensive body with so many matches, even if it's someone who can cover both centre-back and left-back.

Midfield

The No.6 role is probably covered for now with Rodrigo Bentancur, even with his expected ban, Yves Bissouma and Archie Gray, while Spurs have also secured an option on Real Betis' Johnny Cardoso for the summer window to come.

Pape Matar Sarr, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall flesh out the rest of the central midfield options and there's probably enough there to cover this season, particularly as young Bergvall and Gray start to grow into their place at this level.

Postecoglou will no doubt have his eye on further creative midfielders, but with Spurs having created more chances than most other sides this season so far, unless someone absolutely perfect is available in January or a versatile player who plays there as well as in other roles, then it's likely to be a position looked at in the summer.

Attack

Spurs are the top scorers in the Premier League and have scored 35 in all competitions but the attack still feels like an area that needs attention.

There's currently long-term injuries to Richarlison and Wilson Odobert and with Kulusevski now a deeper midfielder, it's putting a lot of pressure on Son Heung-min and top scorer Brennan Johnson to play most games as the wingers and Dominic Solanke as the striker.

You've got the on-loan Timo Werner, who is carrying a groin injury and a lack of confidence in his final product, as well as Mikey Moore, who is a huge talent but at just 17-years-old will need to be developed carefully rather than overused, especially after struggling with a nasty virus in recent weeks.

Some in the fanbase have called for Werner's loan deal to be cut short but that would leave Spurs with one less option rather than adding to the numbers, and the decision-making on loans often lies with the parent club. Just ask Galatasaray about that with Tanguy Ndombele last season.

Yang Min-hyeok is coming next month to start settling in ahead of his January move and will be part of the first team squad but Spurs are expected to be cautious about the 18-year-old South Korean winger as he adjusts to life in a very different country and league.

Will Lankshear, who netted his first goal for Spurs before getting sent off at Galatasaray, will continue to learn the senior game this season and be given opportunities here and there.

Postecoglou would certainly not say no to extra firepower, either in terms of a winger or another forward that fits his system if Richarlison's unavailability continues to be an issue.

The Australian's way relies on changes around the hour mark in key positions, particularly in attack, and he needs the options to do that without dropping the quality otherwise he won't do it.

Again, with any new additions, decisions will have to be made over the packed Europa League squad and who comes out if a new face arrives.

Tottenham star caught up in Nations League chaos as players walk off pitch in protest

Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin was part of the Romania team that saw Kosovo players walk off the field during their Nations League match on Friday due to alleged offensive chanting.

The Kosovo team refused to continue playing in the 93rd-minute after Romanian fans allegedly chanted pro-Serbian slogans, a country that does not recognise Kosovo's independence. UEFA has yet to clarify why the game was cut short, but it is believed that the Kosovo players were deeply upset by the chants.

The match was eventually abandoned an hour after it was stopped with the score at 0-0, leaving the Romanian players - including Spurs star Dragusin - on the pitch in freezing temperatures. Meanwhile, the Kosovo players ordered pizza into their dressing room after walking off, with riot police separating them from the stands.

Their manager, Franco Foda, said: "Unfortunately, at the end of the match, respect was lost. And that's why we decided to leave the field.

"Then we talked to the players and everyone else. But the problem is that the situation in the stadium didn't change then we all decided not to go back to the field and not to continue the match.

"I'm sorry for that, as the team played a great game tonight. But everyone should respect the fact that we are Kosovo in the future to take appropriate steps so that what happened tonight does not happen again."

The Kosovo team continued their protest even when given a five-minute ultimatum to return to the pitch or face the game being called off.

It meant controversy struck again in a match between Kosovo and Romania, echoing past tensions. A Euro 2024 qualifier back in September 2023 was halted due to Romanian fans chanting "Kosovo is Serbia", reports the Mirror.

Although the Kosovo team returned to the pitch on that occasion, suffering a 2-0 defeat, this time they refused to continue the game. Kosovo captain Amir Rrahmani expressed his frustration after full-time.

He claimed: "There were constant calls 'Serbia, Kosovo'. This happened for 90 minutes. In the extra minutes, the calls started with other words that I don't want to repeat because it's a shame.

"I told the ref for the first time to listen to them. He did nothing. The second time he didn't want to listen. After the third time I told him we are going out because this is so wrong.

"They have been aware because our Federation has made it clear to them to try to avoid this. The fans started even more after that with chants of 'Kosova, Serbia'.

"That's why we decided not to go out again as happened last year. UEFA must decide because we are footballers, we are here to represent our people, our country, which has a difficult past."

Man City send letter to Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham over 'unlawful' Premier League rule proposals

Manchester City have reportedly circulated a letter to Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and other Premier League clubs, expressing their apprehension about revised financial regulations ahead of an impending vote.

The club contends that the proposed changes to Associated Party Transaction rules (APTs) are 'unlawful'. A landmark commission ruling in October acknowledged the necessity for APT oversight but pointed out several areas that breached of EU competition law, and thus amendments were required.

A letter obtained by the BBC shows Man City's chief lawyer, Simon Cliff, asserting that the latest draft still violates the commission's ruling and criticising the Premier League for hastening the consultation period, implying clubs would be "voting blind".

The BBC quotes Cliff from the letter as saying: "It is important that a new regime is grounded in rules that are fair, considered and legal. Our strong desire is to avoid any future costly legal disputes on this issue and so it is critical that the Premier League gets it right this time round."

The Premier League, objecting to earlier complaints from Man City around the case, said it "rejects in the strongest possible terms the repeated and baseless assertions" made by the club, strong denying claims about misleading its members.

The league emphasised in its letter: "To the contrary, the league is well aware of, and takes very seriously, its obligations to act fairly and with an open mind."

It stated that it has "acted fairly, transparently and responsibly in circulating considered proposals for consultation in a prompt manner".

The commission's October verdict outlined that loans to clubs from owners - referred to as ‘shareholder loans’ - should no longer be excluded from spending restrictions. Moving forward, these will now be included in spending costs and subject to interest rates, marking a change from previous regulations.

A key issue raised by Man City's lawyer Cliff revolves around the Premier League’s proposal that past shareholder loans will not be retroactively charged with interest costs - but that such charges are only to be levied on new agreements after the establishment of revised guidelines. Cliff contends this approach is against the law.

He remarked that this was "one of the very things that was found to be illegal in the recent arbitration". Cliff stressed that endorsing this would "create market distortions" and therefore be "not lawful".

Cliff stated that while Man City are "strongly in favour of robust, effective and lawful regulation", more talks are "essential" because there remains disagreement on whether the current APT framework as a whole in its current form was considered invalid by the commission.

"Common sense dictates that the Premier League should not rush into passing amendments - particularly ones which entail material legal risk - until [it] knows the outcome from the tribunal," Cliff stated. The same letter was also sent to the Football Association as well as the clubs.

Defending its standpoint on Thursday, the Premier League said in its letter: "Throughout the consultation, the league has reflected upon all feedback provided by clubs, including from MCFC, and sought the opinion of leading counsel to consider the proposals.

"That MCFC does not agree with the proposed amendments, or with the timing of the process being undertaken, does not mean the consultation itself is deficient or that the league has failed to comply with its obligations as a regulator."

The league also accused Man City of "a tendentious and inaccurate interpretation" of the minutes from a call held with clubs last month. It stated that the fact Man City "does not agree with the process does not provide a credible basis to impugn it".

In regards to potential further legal action, the league dismissed such threats as "meritless, and advanced without any attempt to articulate a credible ground on which MCFC could seek to restrain the consultation process".

I mean, results-wise, they’re not good results and the feelings are connected to how you perform results-wise, so I can sit here every week and say ‘we play good football, we have developed’ but, of course, it’s not the easiest every time to just have great energy. However, that's what's so good with this squad, the staff and everybody around, we are very upset after games, we have some good talks and then we get back two days after to have a reflection. We have some really good discussions but, from that, we try to find some really good ways forward and how we can improve. Then, we go out on the training field, the energy and the happiness is back again, we fight really well and you have this strong belief that the next game should be a success. You need to have it every week, no matter if you win or lose, because it's always a new game and your chance to be better and win games. But, you know, we have a sports psychologist, we have a strong, experienced team, we have players with leadership roles… everybody's helping out to make sure we don’t just feel like everything is bad. So, you would be surprised if you had been around us this week because the group has been amazing and I'm really impressed by that.

Victor Osimhen to Chelsea transfer update as January plan outlined amid talks

Description

Chelsea-linked Victor Osimhen is not planning on moving away from loan side Galatasaray mid-season, despite previous talk surrounding a break clause in his deal with the Turkish club. The in-demand striker signed a season-long loan with Galatasaray from Italian outfit Napoli this summer.

That move came after Chelsea attempted to make a late push for Osimhen on deadline day, but were unable to complete a transfer. It left the frontman not playing for Napoli and in search of a new club.

With the Turkish window remaining open, at that juncture, Galatasaray pushed through a loan deal. It's, however, been widely reported that the deal could be cut short should one of 10 teams meet the star's reported £63million release clause when January rolls around.

Given their interest in the summer, there has been talk that Chelsea could potentially reignite the push when the January transfer window opens. It now, however, seems that the player has eyes on remaining at Galatasaray.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has reported that Osimhen 'isn't planning' to leave mid-season and that 'talks' have taken place about a permanent move - with the player suggesting that staying is an 'option'.

There is, though, a stumbling block in Napoli's asking price. The Italian club want a fee of £62.7million (€75million) in the summer window, which would make a move 'almost impossible' for Galatasaray.

Osimhen has quickly established himself as a fans' favourite in Istanbul so far this season. In his nine matches, in all competitions, he has scored eight goals and provided four assists.

Arsenal title fight, Chelsea improvement, Postecoglou sacked

We're almost a third of the way through the Premier League season, with Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham all having mixed starts to the 2024/25 campaign.

After starting extremely well, Arsenal have failed to win any of their last four Premier League games, with the Gunners currently sitting in fourth place on 19 points. Joining them on 19 points but ahead on goal difference is Chelsea with Enzo Maresca enjoying life as the Blues' manager so far, while Spurs have had the worst start of the three, with the Lilywhites having already lost five league games this season, leaving them in 10th.

Despite the poor start from Ange Postecoglou's side, they are still very much in contention for a top-four spot, with the Premier League standings closer than ever. Just four points currently separate Chelsea in third from Manchester United in 13th, so lots can change in just two games.

With the November international break now taking place, we will have to wait until November 23 for the next set of Premier League fixtures. But until then, we thought for some fun, we'd simulate the rest of the Premier League season to see what could happen over the next six months.

Rest of the 2024/25 Premier League season predicted

To set up this simulation, we used Football Manager 2024 to update every team in the Premier League with the latest results, injuries, suspensions and fixtures before simulating ahead to the end of the season to find out what could happen.

After the international break, Chelsea and Arsenal both got off to fantastic starts, with both teams winning their next six games in a row as they were neck-and-neck heading into Christmas. As for Spurs, well, the same couldn't be said. They won one, drew two, and lost three of their games before Christmas, leaving the Lilywhites 12th in the table as the pressure piled on Postecoglou.

After drawing three in a row against Brighton, Spurs, and Aston Villa in the new year, Arsenal dropped off from the title race once again, and like the Gunners, Chelsea did as well – drawing too many games proved to be the Achilles heel for both.

At the end of February, Spurs opted to sack Postecoglou as manager, with the Lilywhites 10th in the table with 11 games remaining. After his decent stint as Man Utd's interim head coach, Ruud van Nistelrooy was appointed on a short-term deal to try and turn things around. In the final 11 games, the Dutchman led Spurs to seven wins as they shot up the table in the final stages of the season.

Between the start of the simulation and the end of the season, Arsenal lost just one Premier League game – a 3-1 defeat at Anfield against Liverpool. Despite this, they didn't do enough to win the Premier League finishing nine points behind the winners.

Liverpool lifted the trophy with Arne Slot's side managing 26 wins in total, while Aston Villa finished in the top four for a second consecutive season. Awards-wise, Bukayo Saka managed the most assists in the Premier League season with 17 in total, while Cole Palmer was the third top scorer in the league, scoring 18 goals, only behind Mohamed Salah (21), and Erling Haaland (26).

Overall, FM24 predicts that Arsenal could fall short once again in their race for the Premier League title, while Chelsea could have the best season, with the Blues improving on last season to return to the Champions League. Spurs had the most dramatic season of them all with a manager change in February, but the Lilywhites managed to bounce back and claim a sixth-place finish.

Tottenham's most clinical player in front of goal this season will surprise you

Yves Bissouma is Tottenham's most clinical player in front of goal this season amid the flood of goals scored by Ange Postecoglou's side.

Spurs are the Premier League's top scorers with 23 goals in 11 matches and have netted 35 so far across 17 games in all competitions under the Australian this campaign. Tottenham have recorded the second most shots on goal per game in the Premier League (17.2), but have also sent the second most off target (6.3).

They have created the third highest amount chances in the league this season with 137 to their name, but have missed the joint-third most big chances (24) in the competition.

New £65million striker Dominic Solanke already has six goals in all competitions under his belt since arriving from Bournemouth and has earned plenty of praise for his all-round game which has earned him an England recall. But according to research from Grosvenor Sport, the 27-year-old forward has underperformed in front of goal.

The data shows that by netting four times in the Premier League against an expected goals (xG) of 6.32 and he sits third for xG underperformance in the Premier League.

Bissouma is perhaps surprisingly Spurs’ most clinical player in front of goal this season, netting twice against an xG of just 0.16 to sit tenth overall for overperformance in the competition. He's followed by his Tottenham captain Son Heung-min, who regularly features at the top of this statistic and the South Korean star has scored three times this season, resulting in an overperformance of -1.56.

Of all the Premier League sides, the data shows that Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is the most clinical player this season, overperforming his xG by -4.06, while Fulham's Adama Traore is the most wasteful in front of goal, underperforming his xG by +2.87.
