Tottenham Hotspur are busy looking ahead to their return to Premier League action this weekend as they host West Ham.

Spurs go into the fixture on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Brighton before the international break and will be determined to return to winning ways.

Ange Postecoglou's team had won their previous five matches in all competitions prior to the trip to Brighton, and will hope to secure all three points when they face West Ham this weekend.

Spurs captain Son Heung-Min has missed the last three fixtures in all competitions with a hamstring injury, having been sidelined since the win over Qarabag in the Europa League last month.

Son (£9.8m) remains the fifth most expensive player in Fantasy Premier League despite only being selected by 4.3 per cent of managers. The South Korea international has amassed 33 total points so far this season and is the most expensive player in the Spurs team, ahead of Dominic Solanke (£7.6m) and James Maddison (£7.5m).

Here, football.london takes a look at how likely Son is to be able to feature for Spurs against West Ham.

What has been said about Son Heung-Min's injury?

Postecoglou was asked about Son's fitness before the trip to Brighton, which was prior to the international break.

Son went on to not be selected for the South Korea squad for their international fixtures against Jordan and Iraq over the past two weeks.

The Spurs manager explained that Son was unlikely to feature for his country if he was not available for Tottenham before the international break.

"Sonny is unlikely, he's pushing hard but it is too soon," said Postecoglou on October 4.

"If he doesn't play for us, it doesn't seem like he's close, it makes sense [to not play for South Korea]," Postecoglou added.

Will Son Heung-Min be fit to face West Ham in GW8?

Postecoglou is yet to give a fresh update on Son's fitness ahead of Tottenham's clash against West Ham this weekend.

FPL have Son down as having a 25 per cent chance of playing against the Hammers in the Saturday lunchtime kick off.

Son has not earned any points in FPL since the 3-1 win over Brentford last month, where the 32-year-old got two assists to earn 10 points for his performance.

Pedro Porro's statement of intent as Ange Postecoglou faces Tottenham decisions ahead of West Ham

It was once again another week of mixed emotions for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham on the international front. Breaking for the second international break of the season immediately after the 3-2 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion, Spurs saw a number of players jet off across the globe to represent their respective nations.

Following his recall to the Spain squad, Pedro Porro sent a message to all that he should be a regular for the Euro 2024 winners with two strong performances against Denmark and Serbia. The right-back even got an assist to his name in the 3-0 victory over the latter after teeing up Aymeric Laporte for the opening goal in Cordoba.

Dejan Kulusevski carried on his good form with an assist in Sweden's 3-0 win in Estonia, while Dane Scarlett got a goal and assist to his name as England Under-21s hit Azerbaijan for seven. Dominic Solanke and Guglielmo Vicario will also take a lot from this round of international games after getting some minutes in the tank for England and Italy respectively.

The international break also saw Brennan Johnson carry on his prolific form as he made it seven goals in seven games with a goal in Wales' draw against Iceland. The attacker came off as a precaution at the start of the second half after feeling the impact of a kick, with his absence against Montenegro a few days later down to suspension.

Lucas Bergvall also sustained an injury and returned to Hotspur Way early from the Sweden camp after picking up a "minor knock". Postecoglou and Spurs will certainly be hoping it is not enough to rule him out of Saturday's home encounter against West Ham.

Going on how Spurs fell to pieces against Brighton in their last league encounter, the head coach could look to make changes to his team to take on the Hammers as they bid to return to winning ways. The West Ham encounter and the events of the international break were talking points on the latest episode of the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast.

Rob Guest and Lee Wilmot were joined by 'Is Gascoigne Going to Have a Crack?' author Gareth Dace to discuss all of the above and also take a look back at Tottenham in the 1990s. In what was a very interesting decade for the football club with plenty of ups and downs along the way, the trio reflected on the highs and lows at White Hart Lane and also the two trophies that the Lilywhites managed to win.

Daniel Levy agrees to meeting as Tottenham fans given hope on 'misguided' ticket price plan

The ever-increasing cost of football tickets is always a huge talking points amongst fans. It's perhaps no surprise at all then to see many clubs come in for criticism at a time when the cost of living in the country is rising and firmly in the spotlight.

Tottenham Hotspur were one of the clubs to come under fire earlier in the year after announcing their season ticket prices for the 2024/25 campaign. This time season ticket prices would be increasing by 6%, with the club making it clear that since the stadium opened in April 2019 that there had only been one season ticket price increase of 1.5%.

As a result of the price rise, the most affordable season ticket at the stadium now costs £856 and the most expensive is an eye-watering £2,367. Not only that, it was also revealed that the club would be making changes to the senior concession season ticket prices which will see them eventually phased out for new applicants, with the discount reduced for existing holders.

It was a move that did not sit well with Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust, who indicated that they were "dismayed" and "hugely disappointed" by the news. THST also deemed the complete removal of new senior concessions from 2025/26 as "unacceptable".

It wasn't just season ticket prices that saw an increase either as matchday tickets were also on the rise for the second year in a row. Tottenham confirmed that category A tickets would go up by £6 and category B and C tickets would be bumped up by £1.

The increase means that category A matches against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United will now cost between £71 for adults and £109. One major gripe for many fans is that the club are already bringing in huge sums of money from other events taking place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, such as the two NFL games that were played in N17 over the past two weekends.

Another point many make is that fans are not getting value for money for the prices they are shelling out as the football club have not won a trophy since 2008 nor are they competing for top honours on a regular basis. In a statement to football.london, Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust outlined their current stance regarding the ticket prices and revealed they believe there is some hope that things can change with chairman Daniel Levy to meet with the Fan Advisory Board.

"Spurs is one of the richest clubs in the Premier League, generating massive amounts of money through sound investment in the stadium and infrastructure and the additional events and activities this enables," read the statement from THST. "However, Spurs charges amongst the very highest prices for matchday and season tickets, risking pricing out ‘legacy’ fans who have and always will follow the club, through thick and thin. THST believes that the extra revenues raised should be reflected in ticket prices.

"In our recent survey of Spurs fans, 85% of respondents disagreed with the club’s decision to stop issuing new senior season tickets and to reduce the discount given to existing senior ST holders. In fact, just 6% agreed with this policy. Furthermore 83% believed that the senior concession should be linked to the person, not the seat.

"THST believes that the misguided and unnecessary policy to end new senior concession season tickets impacts the most loyal, long-term supporters, many of whom are on low, fixed incomes. It also sets a dangerous precedent and is already triggering a race to the bottom amongst other Premier League clubs.

"We are also seeing further erosion to the availability of concessions, with no discount being given to seniors or young adults for cup games so far this season, and restrictions on who seniors can pass their tickets on to, when compared to full adult ST holders.

"However, after months of THST lobbying, and the receipt of thousands of signatures on our petition, sharing of heart-breaking stories demonstrating the impact on senior supporters, and supporting fan-led demonstrations, we believe there is some hope that things will change. We’ve secured a firm commitment from Daniel Levy to meet with the Fan Advisory Board to look at the situation again and find a fairer way moving forwards. This is an opportunity to reset the policy and show a real commitment to a fair and sustainable pricing model. After all, if we tolerate this, who knows who or what comes next?"

Other results from THST's summer survey of Spurs fans very much highlights the unhappiness from supporters regarding ticket prices. A total of 78% of those surveyed believed that match tickets at the stadium were more expensive than other Premier League clubs.

It's not just season tickets and home matchday tickets that are a big talking point amongst fans as the sale of away tickets has also not pleased many. In terms of away tickets, 45% of those surveyed by THST were dissatisfied with how away tickets are allocated, 38% do not believe that the club do enough to prevent the resale of away tickets and 57% approve of digital away tickets to reduce touting and passing on tickets.

Gone are the days where supporters can pick up a ticket for a reasonable price and unfortunately it appears that prices will only go up in the future. A fair and sustainable pricing model is needed or else ticket prices will only continue to go one way.

Tottenham have confirmed that full-back Djed Spence has signed a new contract with the football club until the summer of 2028. Signed from Middlesbrough in 2022, the defender's contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was due to expire in 2027 before he penned fresh terms.

Not quite going to plan for the 24-year-old in north London initially after his move from the Teeside club, Spence has managed to force his way into Ange Postecoglou's plans this season. The former England Under-21 international did appear to be one of the players who would depart the club this summer but he is now firmly in the head coach's thinking going forward.

Spence has made four appearances for Tottenham already this season, with his second-half outing at Coventry City in the Carabao Cup proving vital as he scored a late equaliser before Brennan Johnson won it for the visitors in stoppage time. Although Spence cannot play for Spurs in the Europa League during the first part of the campaign after missing out on the 25-man squad, he will be hoping to feature more regularly in the months ahead in both the Premier League and Carabao Cup.

A statement on Tottenham's official website read: "We are delighted to announce that Djed Spence has signed a new contract with the club, which will run until 2028.

"Having joined the club in July, 2022, from Middlesbrough, Djed has made 10 appearances in our colours to date and registered his first competitive goal for us last month in our victory against Coventry City in the Carabao Cup.

"The 24-year-old has previously spent time on loan with Stade Rennais, Leeds United and most recently with Serie A side Genoa for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.

"On the international stage, Djed has featured for England at Under-21 level on six occasions after making his debut for the Young Lions in March, 2022."

Dominic Solanke set clear Tottenham challenge as Ange Postecoglou 'early days' point made

Jermain Defoe has heaped praise on Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke and backed the former Bournemouth man to make a real impact in north London.

Solanke joined Spurs from Bournemouth over the summer in a deal worth £65million. The 27-year-old has impressed in his eight appearances so far this season, scoring three goals and grabbing two assists.

Solanke was rewarded with his recent good form with his first England call-up since 2017 and was even brought on by Lee Carsley in the Three Lions' 2-1 defeat to Greece last week. Defoe, who had two successful spells at Tottenham, now believes Solanke should just "focus on playing well and improving".

Speaking to Gambling.com ahead of Tottenham vs West Ham this Saturday, Defoe said: "I like Dominic Solanke. He’s nicked a couple of goals now, which is good. He got off to a slow start and after three games, people were sort of questioning the signing. But I think that’s just part and parcel of football really, every player's had it.

"If you're not playing well, then people are going to come for you. If you're playing well then everyone loves you. I did say that he'll come good. He’ll score goals because of the way Tottenham play, they create a lot of chances. So it's just up to him to take them.

"I think for him, he just needs to just focus on playing well and improving. He's just got back in the England squad, which is good. I know he didn't get any minutes, but just to be amongst it is good. Ivan Toney's gone to Saudi, so there's a space there. You've got Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins who will always be involved. I think for him, just focus on goals, focus on playing well and improving, and keep himself in and around the English squad."

Tottenham have had a mixed start to the 2024/25 season and currently sit ninth in the Premier League, having lost three of their opening seven games. Defoe, though, has backed his old side to have a decent campaign.

"It's early days, I think," the former Premier League striker said. "There’s a long way to go. Last season, the first 10 games of last season, people were making a lot of noise about Tottenham, with the way they were playing and stuff like that, because it was different from under Antonio Conte.

"Ange came in and changed the style. He came with his sort of like philosophy, and the players have bought into that straight way. The new signings had hit the ground running.

"And this season they’ve not had the same start, but at the same time, I do feel like it's still early days. It's a long season, but I wouldn't say it's been the same start as last season. When you look at the [Manchester] United game, you saw signs there that it's a team going in the right direction. But even from the first game against Leicester, and then the loss to Newcastle, it's been a sort of stop-start season really so far."

Harry Redknapp slams Thomas Tuchel decision as ex

Harry Redknapp has expressed his disappointment over the FA's decision to appoint German manager, Thomas Tuchel, as Gareth Southgate's successor for the England national team.

The ex-Chelsea manager is set to be unveiled at Wembley on Wednesday, having been fast-tracked into the role following constructive discussions early Tuesday. Tuchel, who has had stints at Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern Munich - including lifting the Champions League trophy with Chelsea in 2021 - will now become the third non-British coach of the England national team, following in the footsteps of Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.

Despite Tuchel's impressive resume, Redknapp, the FA Cup-winning ex-Portsmouth and Tottenham manager, voiced his reservations to Sky Sports News. "He's lost his job quite quickly at a couple of clubs," Redknapp said.

"It's not like he's been a massive success. He's come and gone at a couple of clubs.

"I'm very patriotic, I think we should have an English manager, but the field was very small to choose from."

Tuchel's appointment comes amidst rumours that Manchester City's Pep Guardiola was also approached by the FA. They had previously indicated that nationality would not be a restricting factor in their hunt for the right candidate, as per reports from The Mirror.

In the interim, Under-21 coach Lee Carsley has been managing senior team duties for Nations League encounters throughout this autumn.

Carsley was initially in the frame for the role, but a lack of clear intent regarding his future aspirations had stoked further speculation around who would take up the position. After England's defeat to Greece last week, murmurs began that the FA might cast their net wider.

Tuchel - with a notable history at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund - emerged as an available candidate following his departure from Bayern Munich the previous summer. His appointment means reconnecting with England's captain, Harry Kane - currently with Bayern Munich after leaving Tottenham last summer.

The Tottenham player who has been a godsend for Ange Postecoglou in the Premier League

Tottenham have made a number of good signings under Ange Postecoglou. But one stands out for club legend Ledley King.

As a former centre-back, King has a good eye for players that play in his position, and the Spurs legend declared Micky van de Ven a "godsend" for Postecoglou.

Van de Ven was one of Postecoglou 's first signings upon arrival at Tottenham last summer, bolstering the back-line that the Australian saw as a priority in his first pre-season in north London. And the Dutchman has shone in a Spurs shirt.

He is the fastest Premier League player on record and is often the last line of defence in Postecoglou 's high-press, high octane system.

Speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, in association with Betway, King said: "There are going to be ups and downs because of the style that he wants to play. I think Micky van der Ven has been a godsend in terms of the system because there's a lot of running and recovery runs, and he's one of the quickest things I've seen. He's been really important, but I think with everything you need time."

King believes Spurs are on the right track with Postecoglou at the helm and has backed the head coach's philosophy. Postecoglou has often been criticised for his no-nonsense attacking approach, refusing to be defensive when certain situations might ordinarily call for it.

King added: "Finishing fifth was good for me. You lose Harry Kane before the start of the season, a new manager comes in and we still got fifth position. Now, we want to see a progression on that, obviously, but I believe in him. If you give him time, I believe that he's the right man.

"I think it's been a breath of fresh air in terms of just going out there trying to win games. I've always felt with Tottenham that we've always had good enough players to win any game of football. It's obviously not always happened, but there's not been one game where I didn't believe we were going to win because we have players that are capable of doing that.

"I think that's where Ange is at – if we play our game and we play it well, we can win the game, and that’s his thought. Playing well and trying to be entertaining while you're doing it. It's just his style.

"I've always believed that our best chance of winning anything is by being ourselves and just playing, players expressing themselves, going for it. I look back to the team when I won the League Cup in 2008, and it was a team that played against a very good Chelsea side on the day, but we just played our game.

"That's always going to be the best chance for me, rather than thinking too much. Being free to play, I think, is Tottenham's best way of actually getting over the line and winning the trophy."

Amanda Staveley Tottenham takeover truth explained as investment turbocharges Daniel Levy plan

Unlike Stan Kroenke, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Clearlake Capital, or some of the other major owners of English football clubs, Tottenham's current - and potentially future - situation is very different. As opposed to these groups with extremely rich individuals, there is nobody dominating financially in the same way at Spurs.

Daniel Levy, the chairman, is not bankrolling the club in the manner of Middle Eastern groups at Newcastle, Manchester City, or Paris Saint-Germain if the net is cast wider. Enic Group are the majority shareholder, with Levy as chairman, but the face of the club from this perspective only holds less than 30% of the 87% Enic has.

It is a complex structure. Tottenham are a public company, and as the monetary demands of being involved in an elite club rise to battle the state-owned or private equity-funded rivals, Levy has been honest about the need for additional help.

Many names have been linked with either a full takeover at Tottenham - something Levy has admitted he doesn't want to but hasn't ruled out - including Jay Z, Sheikh Jassim, Jahm Najafi, Liberty Media Corporation, and even the now much-maligned 777 Partners, or simply investing. Just how any of these partnerships would work with Levy has never really had to be made clear.

It is in this world that the emergence of Amanda Staveley as a genuine presence around the club has been noted. Still fresh from leaving Newcastle over the summer following nearly three years as a director, the Yorkshire-born Geordie - a self-prescribed description - has not shied away from the spotlight.

Last week she was seen at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Since having her 10% stake in Newcastle purchased she has openly spoken about getting back involved, almost immediately. She has also been tipped as one of the interest parties in Tottenham But what does this actually mean for Spurs?

As a figure who was central to things in Eddie Howe's Newcastle shakeup, the prospect of having Staveley onboard is appealing. football.londonTottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold says it is 'fascinating.'

For different reasons than just a potential influx of cash, it is both of these things. Just looking at Staveley's estimated net worth will explain why.

The British businesswoman is said to have a value of around £130million, which is massive in the grand scheme of things but relatively tiny compared to those already in the football scene like this. She acts as the investor but is really just a broker.

This is nothing to be sniffed at, but does suggest that far from plunging her own personal money into the club, Staveley will once more be acting as an intermediary of sorts to those who she has a strong relationship with. On that front, there are no shortages.

Staveley is one of the most trusted brokers in the Middle East, owing to her work with City's own Abu Dhabi takeover and a multibillion-pound deal for Barclays over 15 years ago. She was influential in getting the Newcastle deal with serious backing, and could have a similar impact for Tottenham.

As Levy looks for ways to enhance his grand plan - "Combined with stadium revenue, investment would make Spurs a power player," says Gold - bringing in money from sources only Staveley has access to could be hugely beneficial. Because Tottenham have become so reliably stable financially compared to others, an injection really could make a big, notable difference.

This is what Staveley, who now has not only experience and success in sport but also a burning desire to continue, can bring. Her contacts and networking ability have reportedly generated over £28billion in current assets and deals being managed. This is the sort of portfolio a private equity firm might look at and use to invest.

For Tottenham it is something they haven't utilised as much. Staveley might change that.

Although there is a question to be asked of how a dynamic with Levy would work - Stavelely is vocal, visible, and hands on - it is the sort of adaption that the Tottenham chairman appears to be opening himself up to.

James Maddison transfer chase gives Tottenham star unexpected lift amid huge announcement

Description

James Maddison once again had to watch on from home as England took to the field in their UEFA Nations League campaign. Cut from Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad for Euro 2024 and then also not included in Lee Carsley's first selection for September's international fixtures, the Tottenham man was unfortunately overlooked once more for this month's games against Greece and Finland.

Despite wowing on a consistent basis for Leicester City and also delivering some very good displays in a Tottenham shirt, it has never quite happened for the 27-year-old on the international stage. Maddison has been restricted to only seven appearances for England, with six of those caps coming in the past 18 months.

What makes things incredibly difficult for Maddison is that the national side have an incredible selection of players in his area of the pitch. Tottenham's No.10 is in a battle with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Eberechi Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White just for a place in the squad never mind the starting XI.

All the player can do right now is perform on a consistent basis for Tottenham and hope that an international call comes his way. What could certainly help Maddison going forward is the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as England's new head coach.

The ex-Chelsea man has signed an 18-month contract to lead the Three Lions and the hope will be that he can deliver success on the pitch at the 2026 World Cup. Tuchel is a proven winner and it looks to be a really shrewd appointment by the FA.

“I am very proud to have been given the honour of leading the England team," said Tuchel following confirmation of his appointment. "I have long felt a personal connection to the game in this country, and it has given me some incredible moments already. To have the chance to represent England is a huge privilege, and the opportunity to work with this special and talented group of players is very exciting.

"Working closely with Anthony [Barry] as my assistant coach, we will do everything we can to make England successful and the supporters proud. I want to thank the FA, in particular Mark [Bullingham] and John [McDermott], for their trust and I am looking forward to starting our journey together.”

Tuchel's England journey will begin on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Interim boss Carsley will remain in charge for England's final UEFA Nations League games next month as the team travel to Greece and host Republic of Ireland.

Tuchel will be keeping a close eye on England's last two games of 2024 and Maddison will be determined to be part of Carsley's final squad before the new man takes over at the turn of the year. The 51-year-old most definitely knows about what Maddison can produce on the pitch after his Chelsea team's battles with Leicester City during his time in England.

Playing in the FA Cup final against Chelsea in May 2021, the attacking midfielder got his name on the scoresheet at Stamford Bridge 12 months later in a 1-1 draw. A pivotal man for Leicester that campaign as he registered a total of 30 goal involvements following 18 goals and 12 assists in 53 games, the player quite clearly came to the attention of the German and Chelsea as The Guardian reported in June 2023 that the west London club had scouted Maddison extensively when Tuchel was in the Stamford Bridge hotseat.

Maddison has caught the eye in spells since his move to Tottenham, with the player delivering some outstanding showings in the opening few months of the 2023/24 season as well as the start of this term. Always going to be a big year for the player after his England omission, Maddison is now producing the kind of form that saw him earn an England recall in late 2022 after so much time in the international wilderness.

The ex-Coventry City ace has been heavily involved in Tottenham's attacking play since the season started and he so far has two goals and three assists to his name. He was incredibly unlucky to miss out on the England squad for October's international games and Carsley may have no choice but to recall him in November if his current form continues and possibly goes on to even greater heights.

A return to the England reckoning next month would be the ideal way for Maddison to end his year and also put himself in a good position for when Tuchel takes on the reins come January. A new England head coach, but more specifically the appointment of Tuchel, could just be what Maddison needs to get his international career firmly back on track and finally add to his seven England caps.

Son Heung-min, Richarlison, Odobert - Tottenham injury news and return dates for West Ham

Description

Tottenham return to action on Saturday lunchtime as they play London rivals West Ham (12.30pm).

Ange Postecoglou's team will be looking to bounce back from the 3-2 defeat at Brighton before the international break. It was a game they lost despite being 2-0 up at half-time.

But the Lilywhites have a few injury issues to deal with ahead of their game against Julen Lopetegui's side. Below, football.london provide the latest on Spurs' injury situation ahead of Saturday's fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which kicks-off another exciting Premier League weekend;

Son Heung-min

The Tottenham captain has missed the club's last three games with a hamstring injury that he suffered late on against Qarabag in the Europa League last month. The 32-year-old also missed out on South Korea's World Cup qualifying matches against Jordan and Iraq during this fortnight.

Postecoglou had suggested that Son Heung-min was getting closer ahead of their Premier League game with Brighton, but ultimately was not able to play in that 3-2 defeat at the Amex Stadium.

On Sunday, Son posted an image of himself overlooking training pitches with the simple message: "Back soon", alongside lilywhite heart emoji.

football.london understands that Son is expected to be back in training at some point this week and all eyes will be on that hamstring and how it holds up during those pre-match sessions.

Potential return date: Tottenham vs West Ham on October 19

Richarlison

Richarlison has been out since the second game of the season - the win against his old side Everton - in which he came off the substitutes bench for the final 25 minutes or so.

The Brazilian has been struggling with a calf injury over the past six weeks, having only returned to full training on the eve of the season following his previous injury woes. The 27-year-old has struggled to get a run of games since arriving at Tottenham for £60million from Everton in 2022 - due to various setbacks.

The striker was shown back on the grass working in the past week and it's also hoped that Richarlison will be back in training during the next week. The match against West Ham might come too soon for him, and Spurs take it very cautiously with him after previous setbacks.

Potential return date: Tottenham vs West Ham on October 19

Wilson Odobert

Wilson Odobert only arrived at Tottenham from Burnley for £30million just ahead of the Everton match Richarlison got injured in. The 19-year-old Frenchman made an impact in that first game, but he then suffered a hamstring injury early on in the Carabao Cup tie Championship side Coventry last month.

Odobert looked to be in a lot of pain, while Postecoglou instantly ruled him out until after October's international break. As with the other two, football.london believes the teenager could also be involved in training - this week - but as with all muscular injuries it's about how the player reacts to those early moments back on the grass and also with contact training, as that creates additional strain.

If all goes well, then Odobert could be back in contention for a spot on the bench - either against West Ham or in the Europa League game against AZ following up in midweek.
