Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has previously hinted that he may be open to joining a Premier League club amid links surrounding his future.

Mbeumo has been enjoying some of his best form since signing for the Bees from Troyes in 2019. The 25-year-old has scored six goals across seven Premier League fixtures so far this season, which leaves him behind only Erling Haaland of Manchester City (10) and level with fellow runner-up Cole Palmer of Chelsea (six).

Reports back in September from Give Me Sport claimed that Arsenal were interested in signing Mbeumo, who is thought to be valued at £50million. Liverpool and Newcastle are also reported to be in the running, but it seems that Tottenham may be a potential destination based on a video clip that has surfaced.

A video has emerged on Reddit which shows Mbeumo after Brentford's pre-season friendly against AFC Wimbledon back in July.

The clip shows Mbeumo greeting fans as he eventually walks down the tunnel to the dressing room. Fans in the background could be heard saying, "Come to Tottenham," to the Brentford star.

Mbeumo could then be heard replying, "maybe," with a wry smile on his face as he walked down the tunnel.

Ivan Toney's departure for Saudi Arabia in the summer transfer window has increased the importance of Mbeumo to the Brentford squad, something that Bees manager Thomas Frank is fully aware of.

"He was the biggest miss last year, even when we had Ivan [Toney] out [injured]. We missed our key player," Frank told West London Sport in September.

"He's added another layer this year. Five goals in six is incredible, plus he's still creating chances and opportunities. He's working so hard for the team.

"For me, he's a top player. I'm convinced one day he will play for a bigger club; I will definitely buy him if I was at a bigger club.

"He's very happy here. Maybe some players need to leave us one day, but a lot of the players here are very happy because we have a top environment with good people, staff and players."

Amanda Staveley drops latest hint as Tottenham links intensify after double visit

The company through which Amanda Staveley invested in Newcastle United has gone into voluntary liquidation amid continued links with Tottenham Hotspur.

On Monday, a filing with Companies House revealed that Redstart Leisure Limited had filed a special resolution to wind-up the company, with a voluntary liquidator to be appointed.

The move comes just two weeks after the company had changed its name from Cantervale Limited to Redstart, and three weeks on from another one of Staveley’s companies, Apollo Belvedere Services LLP, formerly known as PCP Capital Partners, having also been wound-up. That move came on the back of a legal battle with Greek shipping magnate Victor Restis, who won a court case over a £3.4m sum he was owed from investing in her business ventures.

The liquidation of Redstart Leisure Limited, formerly Cantervale, could hint at Staveley re-positioning her and her husband, Merhdad Ghoudoussi’s business interests as they eye a move to get involved in another football club having left their roles as directors at Newcastle United during the summer. Staveley had been hugely influential in getting the 2021 Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund takeover of the Magpies over the line and had become a hugely prominent figure at the club.

In an interview with The Athletic last month, Staveley said: “Very sadly, we have to move on to other projects and that might involve us taking a stake in another club or buying another club and that’s difficult. But it’s possible.”

Since her Newcastle exit, Staveley, one of football’s best networkers, has been repeatedly linked with making an investment play into Spurs, with the 51-year-old having previously been reported to be looking at bringing other investors on board.

Tottenham Hotspur are now old hands at hosting NFL games and that was clear on Sunday as the Chicago Bears took over in N17 to tame the Jacksonville Jaguars.

American football has found its home in the UK at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - the first purpose-built stadium for the sport on this side of the Atlantic - for the past half a decade and Sunday's latest offering was as slick as they come.

The touchdowns rained down as the weather thankfully didn't, the Bears' number one draft pick Caleb Williams hitting his groove as the 22-year-old quarterback showed everybody what all the excitement was about in the 35-16 win.

The Jags have long been the London team, having based themselves at Wembley, but in N17 they found themselves booed the Bears were the home side and ruled the roost both on and off the artificial turf, which sits beneath that Premier League pitch seen most weeks with Ange Postecoglou and his side.

The Australian was at the game, a big NFL fan himself although his affections in the sport lie away from the two competing teams on the day. Postecoglou has been at the NFL London Games in both of his seasons at Tottenham and as he stood with his family at pitch side before kick-off on Sunday, you could see the excitement on his face, far from the stresses of Premier League life.

Postecoglou spent time on the pitch with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and Jaguars owner and Fulham chairman Shahid Khan. The Spurs boss then exchanged a Spurs shirt for a Bears one pre-match with his compatriot Tory Taylor, a punter for the victorious team.

The 27-year-old comes from the Tottenham head coach's city of Melbourne and is another success story from that part of Australia. He spent four years playing college football at the University of Iowa before the Bears drafted him in the fourth round of this year's NFL draft, the highest selected punter in half a decade.

Postecoglou has a clear pride in any Australian that makes it big across the world and his grin while chatting with Taylor once again showcased that.

The Bears enjoyed themselves on their visit to Tottenham, pulling out an entertaining afternoon tea celebration when Keenan Allen caught Williams' pass in the end zone. His team-mates all sat in a circle with him, all of them sipping from imaginary tea cups with their little fingers in the air. That's what us English do, right?

The experienced Allen admitted that the noise inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the support of the Bears faithful caught him off guard despite his many years in the game.

"I didn't [expect it to be that good]. D.J. [Moore] was saying 'it's a home game, watch this'. I was like 'all right, I'll see how it looks'. I'm not used to that! That was solid," said the 32-year-old wide receiver in his post-match press conference.

For some Tottenham fans, it will grate that another team calls the huge stadium In N17 their home - technically two teams a season. Those Spurs supporters won't care about the Americans and their sports coming to north London. It's all just a noisy distraction from their one and only love - Tottenham Hotspur. I mean the ball is the wrong shape for a start.

There's no sense though in building a huge £1billion stadium only to purposely have it lie dormant for 345 or so days a year. Tottenham's first step of trying to compete with the big clubs that have huge revenue bases is to create their own major income.

That comes with their stadium. On Sunday, 61,182 people packed into it to watch the NFL extravaganza. The game began at 2.30pm, with fans teeming in and around the arena from hours before, and the game did not end until around 5.30pm.

Many of the crowd remained inside the stadium, eating and drinking - something they're allowed to do in their seats as well during an NFL game - and when this reporter left after the press conferences at just before 7pm there were still fans heading into the club megastore which is transformed and dedicated to NFL stock at this time of year.

Eventually Spurs will build the towering blade-like hotel to come in the south plaza and many of those people will stay on site as well, either the night before or the night after.

So take all of those hours of use and you can start to work out what Tottenham make from their stadium.

So you know, for a Premier League match at White Hart Lane, Spurs used to make just below £1million per game in revenue. At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they bring in almost £6million in matchday income each time Postecoglou's side play.

NFL games are slightly different. In essence, Spurs rent out the stadium so they mainly make their money from the original NFL deal, the rental fee paid by the NFL as part of their contract - extended last year until the 2029/30 season - and they also pull in major amounts of money with their portion of those huge sales of food, drink and merchandise from the megastore.

Even on the drink front, for context, back in 2019 after the first NFL game held there, Bottoms Up Beer - who provided the technology that fills up beer glasses quickly from their bottom - tweeted that £1million in sales had been made before the beer ran out in the third quarter of the game. That broke the record then for beer sales at any European venue in history.

That figure will only have risen over the ensuing years with increased prices and beer stock to ensure it never ran dry again.

The retention of the name Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the club unable to find a naming rights partner to meet their requirements over the years, has brought unexpected benefits and opened the door to new sponsorship deals.

Even those without a knowledge of the Premier League in America will know of Tottenham Hotspur if they love the NFL, thanks to the two games a year played inside the stadium across the Atlantic. Even in the annually released video game Madden, the NFL version of EA FC (formerly FIFA), the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a playable ground so it's known throughout the sport.

The dream for Spurs will be one day having an NFL franchise in London call their stadium home, with games every other week to the football, or even double header weekends or potentially days if the pitch technology eventually allows that quick a turnaround.

It's not just the NFL of course either. There's also the boxing, rugby, concerts, conferences, tours and events held there, plus the F1 karting experience, all bringing money in for the football club to invest into the team.

On the subject of money, there was another recognisable face among the crowd inside the stadium. It wasn't Postecoglou, or Spurs players like Timo Werner or Djed Spence who were watching on from the stands, or the various music stars and celebrities in the crowd wanting to be part of the occasion.

It was Amanda Staveley, who was enjoying the game from a box at the stadium. The 51-year-old financier is well known for helping broker Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund's takeover of Newcastle in 2021 with her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi and became a director there for three years until a public parting of the ways with the club this summer.

Now the pair have been heavily linked in recent months with bringing money from the Middle East to Tottenham, with chairman Daniel Levy having made it clear this year that the north London club are looking for investment.

Combined with the stadium income which helped the club bring in a record £500million revenue in the most recent financial results, Levy believes that investment will make Spurs a powerful entity to be reckoned with in the global game.

"We announced with our last results that we believe this club needs a bigger capital base because we've got a lot of exciting projects on the horizon and we want to make further investment in the teams," he said at the recent fans' forum. "Some form of minority investment is what we're looking for. We've got nothing to announce at the moment but we are in the market."

Tottenham and Levy like to work in the shadows, attempting to do their business quietly and effectively. Staveley seems like a more public presence, giving more interviews in her three years at Newcastle than Levy has done in decades at Spurs, and she has been spotted at a recent Spurs match and now at the club's hosting of the NFL London Games.

If the former Newcastle director were to bring in the finance to carve out a minority stake within Spurs, that dynamic will be fascinating to witness with Levy, who has been a hands-on chairman over the past quarter of a century, down to choosing small details of décor such as door knobs within the stadium let alone negotiating transfer fees.

What the future holds for Spurs will become clear in the months ahead. One thing that is certain for the years to come is that NFL is going to continue to be a slick and successful part of life in N17. It will always be Tottenham Hotspur's home, but there's room in the vast stadium for an enjoyable lodger to stay over from time to time.

Landmark moment for Tottenham wonderkid getting plenty of praise on loan

The international break might have brought a pause to Tottenham's season but a couple of their young loan players continued to play football at the weekend.

With countries in action across the world in various World Cup qualifiers, Nations League matches and other international games, most top flight leagues take a break themselves from action. That does not stop some of the lower leagues from continuing though and in England, League Two continued to play most of its games this weekend as did non-league football.

That meant that Tottenham's George Abbott was able to turn out on Saturday for Notts County in their League Two derby against Chesterfield and the 19-year-old managed to register a personal landmark in his career with his first senior assist.

He was up against former Spurs academy starlet Dilan Markanday, who also got an assist on the day for Chesterfield. Another ex-Tottenham youth player came on for Notts County in the second half in the shape of Nick Tsaroulla.

Chesterfield took the lead through Paddy Madden, but the versatile Spurs U21s skipper, playing as a right wing-back, made a great run down the flank before chipping a cross to the back post where Alasanna Jatta headed back across goal and into the far corner.

The hosts found another goal through Will Grigg but County left it late with a penalty that David McGoldrick scored at the second attempt after his first effort was saved.

Abbott got 86 minutes under his belt during the game and made two key passes, had 61 touches of the ball, went on one dribble, made three tackles, two interceptions and one clearance in a busy performance.

"It was unbelievable,” Abbott was quoted as saying after the game. "The crowd were proper up for it today from both sides. I mean, it was a big game for both teams, and I think we both played pretty well.

"You could tell this meant a lot more than the other games I’ve played in. All the games mean something, but it was good to come back and get the draw."

On whether he's got plenty of experience of playing on the right flank, he added: "Not too much, but I mean, I can play there. I can play quite a few positions, so wherever the gaffer wants to put me, I'll play there."

On his first assist as a senior professional, he said: "Hopefully the first of many, but it felt unbelievable getting the assist, and I’m really happy about it."

And what about a first goal?

"Hopefully soon, and hopefully that’ll be the next time you’re interviewing me," he said to the media after the game.

Abbott has now made eight appearances for Notts County in League Two and played 588 minutes for them.

Nineteen-year-old Spurs goalkeeper Carey Bloedorn played the full 90 minutes as Aveley lost 1-0 at home to Chippenham in National League South. The young keeper came out for a late ball into his box but was unable to get there and that allowed the visitors in to score an 81st minute winner.

Bloedorn has played 10 times now for Aveley since making his first loan move out of Spurs.

min, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert injury latest and Tottenham return dates

Ange Postecoglou currently has three injured Tottenham players in the treatment room but there could be good news on the horizon.

While the international break could bring further problems for the Spurs head coach, currently he has just the three main players in the Tottenham treatment room. Postecoglou spent Sunday afternoon at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium watching the Chicago Bears comfortably beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the latest NFL London Games showpiece encounter and he will be hoping to see his own players excelling on that pitch next weekend when they host West Ham United in a Premier League derby.

Postecoglou will be hoping to see his three injured Spurs players back in action before or soon after that game and here's the latest on all of them.

Son Heung-min

The Tottenham captain has meant he's missed the club's previous three games with a hamstring injury suffered late on against Qarabag in the Europa League last month. The 32-year-old missed out on South Korea's World Cup qualifying matches against Jordan and Iraq during this fortnight.

Postecoglou had suggested that Son was getting closer ahead of the Premier League match at Brighton last weekend but was not in a position to play eventually in the 3-2 defeat at the Amex Stadium.

On Sunday, Son posted an image of himself overlooking training pitches with the simple message "Back soon" alongside lilywhite heart emoji.

football.london understands that Son is expected to be back in training at some point this week and all eyes will be on that hamstring and how it holds up to the first few sessions.

Potential return date: Tottenham vs West Ham on October 19

Richarlison

Richarlison has been out since the second game of the season and the win against his old side Everton, in which he came off the bench for the final 25 minutes or so.

The Brazilian has been struggling with a calf injury over the past six weeks, having only returned to full training on the eve of the season following his previous injury woes. The 27-year-old has struggled to get a run of games since arriving at Tottenham for £60million from Everton in 2022 due to various injury problems.

The striker was shown back on the grass working in the past week and it is also hoped that Richarlison will be back in training during the next week. The match against West Ham might come too soon for him as Spurs take it very cautiously with him after previous setbacks, but we're sure that game will be in the back of mind.

Potential return date: Tottenham vs West Ham on October 19

Wilson Odobert

Wilson Odobert only arrived at Tottenham from Burnley for £30million just ahead of the Everton game Richarlison got injured in. The 19-year-old Frenchman made an impact in that first game but suffered a hamstring injury early on in the Carabao Cup match at Championship side Coventry midway through last month.

Odobert looked to be in a lot of pain and Postecoglou immediately ruled him out until after this international break. As with the other two, football.london believes the teenager could also be involved in training as this week goes on but as with all muscle injuries, it's very much about how the player reacts to his early moments back on the grass and also with contact training as that puts a strain on the affected area.

If all goes well then, Odobert could be back in contention for a spot on the bench either against West Ham or in the Europa League game against AZ the following midweek.

Potential return date: Tottenham vs West Ham on October 19.

The contract status of every Tottenham player shows what Johan Lange is building at Spurs

Submitted by daniel on
Picture
Remote Image
Description

Tottenham have been busy securing plenty of their players to long-term contracts as part of the huge overhaul at the club but Ange Postecoglou and Johan Lange still have a number of big decisions to make.

Spurs' policy under both head coach Postecoglou and then technical director Lange has been to secure some of the top young talent from across the globe, such as Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Luka Vuskovic, and committing them to the club for the long-term future, as well as sprinkling in a number of major first team players like £65million England international Dominic Solanke, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison.

Tottenham have undertaken a major rebuild of Postecoglou's squad, which has resulted in departures aplenty and a drastic changing of the landscape when it comes to contracts across the first team and the talent youngsters coming through from the north London outfit's academy.

Here's when every Spurs players' contract ends and the decisions to be made in the months and years ahead. It's worth noting that sometimes Tottenham include an extra year's option in their favour into their announced contract end dates while sometimes there's an extra year option on top that they do not make public.

Fraser Forster

Alfie Whiteman

Ben Davies

Sergio Reguilon

Son Heung-min

Timo Werner

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

We've included Hojbjerg in this list only because his contract currently still rests with the club, but he is set to join Marseille when that ends because the French club have an obligation to buy the Dane. Sergio Reguilon will also likely be heading out of the club, one way or another, in the coming eight months or so.

Captain Son Heung-min is undoubtedly the standout name on the list of players out of contract in 2025 but it is believed that Tottenham hold an option to extend his deal by a further year, which gives them another 20 months from now to sort out a new deal for their skipper.

Ben Davies and Fraser Forster could be heading towards the end of their contracts with the club, the former after what will be 11 years in N17 by the time next summer rolls around. When it comes to Forster, Spurs will undoubtedly be looking for a new goalkeeper to challenge Guglielmo Vicario for the seasons ahead and that could spell the end for the a player who will be 37 this season in the former England stopper and potentially also Alfie Whiteman.

A decision will also have to be made over Timo Werner when his latest loan spell comes to an end next summer and whether the club take up the £8.5million option to buy him.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Yves Bissouma

Bryan Gil

Alfie Dorrington

Matthew Craig

Tottenham will have to decide whether they are going to extend the deals of Rodrigo Bentancur and/or Yves Bissouma in the not too distant future as they enter the final 20 months of their respective contracts.

Bryan Gil, on loan this season at Girona, is likely to move on next summer at this stage, while Matthew Craig has done well on his loans at Doncaster Rovers and now Barnsley, but is unlikely to break into the first team set-up.

Alfie Dorrington was named in Tottenham's most recent Europa League matchday squad and you would imagine a new contract is on its way, if there's not already an option within his current one to extend it by a year as many - not all but many - academy deals often contain.

Cristian Romero

Richarlison

Djed Spence

Mikey Moore

Alfie Devine

Dane Scarlett

Cristian Romero has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and it will be interesting to see what Tottenham do next summer should the Spanish giants make a move for their vice-captain. He will have two years left on his contract at that point, so it's perhaps the last chance Spurs have to get big money for the Argentine World Cup winner if he indicates he's not looking to extend his stay at the club.

Richarlison's stay will all depend on his injury status over the coming season or so you would imagine, while Djed Spence has every opportunity - apart from in Europe in the moths ahead - to turn his Spurs future into a longer one.

Talented youngsters Mikey Moore, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett are on the books for the next few seasons and all will be hoping to play a part for Tottenham over the coming years, Moore getting that chance this season with the other two on loan at Westerlo and Oxford United respectively.

James Maddison

Dejan Kulusevski

Pedro Porro

Guglielmo Vicario

Manor Solomon

Ashley Phillips

Don't bet against a couple at least in this category getting new contracts in the near future. Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski in particular have been been in superb form this season and Vicario is looking to make his case to be the Tottenham goalkeeper for years to come.

Manor Solomon and Ashley Phillips' futures at the club could depend on whether they can break their way properly into Postecoglou's plans.

Brennan Johnson

Micky van de Ven

Wilson Odobert

Lucas Bergvall

Alejo Veliz

Brandon Austin

Jamie Donley

Will Lankshear

Plenty of big names and recent signings in this category and the hope is that all of them will still be playing a big role for the club come 2029.

As with the group above, all of these young talented players will soon be rewarded for any significant, prolonged process with a bumper deal and you would imagine that comes for Micky van de Ven sooner rather than later especially as he becomes one of the Premier League's best.

Austin, Donley and Lankshear all have signed recent new deals which tie them to the club for the next half a decade.

Dominic Solanke

Archie Gray

Destiny Udogie

Pape Matar Sarr

Radu Dragusin

Luka Vuskovic

Yang Min-Hyeok

The long-termers for the future and it was no surprise to see Tottenham extend Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr's contracts last season until the summer of 2030. Solanke and Gray arrived with big new long contracts and Yang and Vuskovic will do the same when they arrive in January and the summer respectively.

Tottenham's clear Cristian Romero transfer stance amid Real Madrid interest and release clause truth

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Tottenham Hotspur reputedly have no interest in selling Cristian Romero, regardless of any admiration from Real Madrid.

Romero, 26, has reportedly refused to rule out a move to Madrid, but Spurs seemingly have other ideas. The Argentina international is under contract for the next two seasons but notably does not have a release clause in that agreement, as claimed in his homeland.

Real are also far from short on options, with Arsenal’s William Saliba appearing ahead of Romero as the Champions League holders' hope to recruit a central defender this summer. Rafa Marin, who Madrid sold to Napoli last summer, is also said to be another option, as they agreed to include a buyback clause when doing that cut-price deal.

Our colleagues at the Mirror report that Tottenham are uninterested in sanctioning the sale of Romero despite Real already being active in the transfer market ahead of the new year. Their right-back Dani Carvajal rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee has also seen Pedro Porro receive admiring glances from the Spanish capital over the week since that setback.

There is an expectation that any advances from Real about the Spain international would lead Daniel Levy to drive a hard bargain. Compared to Romero, Porro has an additional year remaining on his contract.

However, the latter has already addressed the links, sharing his pride at hearing his name linked with the Spanish champions.

min drops Tottenham injury return hint with two

Son Heung-min has delivered a quick but hopeful message for Tottenham supporters on social media on Sunday.

The Spurs captain has missed the club's previous three games with a hamstring injury suffered late on against Qarabag in the Europa League last month. That problem also meant the 32-year-old missed out on South Korea's World Cup qualifying matches against Jordan and Iraq during this fortnight.

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou had suggested that Son was getting closer ahead of the Premier League match at Brighton last weekend but was not in a position to play eventually in the 3-2 defeat at the Amex Stadium. The Australian added that that would mean his skipper would not be fit enough to travel to captain his country.

On Sunday, Son posted an image of himself overlooking training pitches with the simple message "Back soon" alongside lilywhite heart emoji.

Postecoglou had said ahead of the game at Brighton: "Sonny unlikely, he’s pushing hard but I just don’t think the turnaround will be quick enough for him to be available at this stage.

"Well yeah, if he doesn’t play for us its not like he’s close then it makes sense [to not go on international duty]. But then again we have to be mindful, that international duty, national teams take over they are the custodians of their players but we’ve given them all of the medical information, they understand and they are understanding of the situation."

Tottenham fans will be hoping that the South Korean attacker is back in time to face West Ham United in a big London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Saturday.

Huge new Tottenham takeover claims made as Eddie Howe linked with shock move

Submitted by daniel on
Picture

Description

Amanda Staveley successfully investing in Tottenham Hotspur could reunite the former Newcastle United co-owner with Eddie Howe, according to reports.

Spurs turned their form around after consecutive defeats to the North East club and their North London rivals last month with five straight wins. However, a damaging defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion abruptly ended that run of results before the international break.

Ange Postecoglou called it the worst defeat of his time at Tottenham, and talk of a partial takeover at the club over recent weeks is hardly helping abate any speculation about his future. Staveley securing a stake in Spurs would only increase the pressure on his position, given her history with Howe while working at Newcastle together up until recently.

The Sun reports that he would become Tottenham's top target should they become involved in the club because they remain firm fans of his. Stavely was the ownership member quoted when Newcastle announced Howe as head coach three years ago.

She acknowledged that they were "incredibly impressed" by him during their recruitment process and described Howe as a "passionate and dynamic coach" when sharing their delight at the appointment. The move came a month after their takeover, with his much-maligned predecessor, Steve Bruce, leaving by mutual consent two weeks after the change of power.

However, comparing that situation with Postecoglou's current situation is a stretch. Newcastle fans had long turned on their manager then, while it is likely any change of coach at Tottenham anytime soon would not receive anything close to universal approval.

But any partial takeover appears likely to drag on at least a little longer, leaving Postecoglou time to improve or even worsen his position. The Sun claims that the completion of any deal remains weeks away despite Staveley's supposed keenness to invest in the club.

Nine Tottenham players guaranteed to start vs West Ham as Ange Postecoglou faces two big decisions

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back immediately when Premier League football returns after the international break. On the losing side before the pause in play following a 3-2 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion, Spurs were well on course to collect another three points before letting a two-goal lead slip in the second half at the Amex Stadium.

That is why it is vital that Ange Postecoglou's side return to winning ways in the Saturday lunchtime game against West Ham. The Lilywhites also need the three points to ensure that the current four-point gap between themselves and Chelsea in fourth is not extended further.

Tottenham have fared well on the whole against West Ham since Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened its doors for the first time back in 2019 but the Hammers have picked up a couple of notable results in N17. Winning 1-0 at Spurs' home in April 2019 and also last December, the east London club recovered from a three-goal deficit to salvage a point following three late strikes in October 2020.

Julen Lopetegui's team have not enjoyed the best of starts to this season but they will certainly be feeling a lot more confident after hitting Ipswich Town for four last time out. So are there any Tottenham players guaranteed to start for Postecoglou against the Hammers? football.london takes a look below.

In goal, Guglielmo Vicario is an automatic starter for Spurs and will take his place between the sticks against the Hammers. Postecoglou's Tottenham defence then picks itself as Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie all start.

The only thing that could possibly change Postecoglou's decision is the quick turnaround for Romero with Argentina playing in the early hours of Wednesday morning and Tottenham playing first on Saturday. As Udogie struggled in the Brighton defeat, Djed Spence has the opportunity to catch the head coach's eye with a full week on the training ground working under him.

However, it's hard to see Postecoglou moving away from his usual back four in order to bring Radu Dragusin and Spence into the side. In midfield, there's a question over Rodrigo Bentancur's place in the side as Yves Bissouma could possibly come in at the base of Tottenham's midfield.

Bentancur did not have the best of games at Brighton and that could open the door for the Mali international to start. Two players who are guaranteed to start in midfield are Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison.

The same goes for Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson in attack. Timo Werner started last time out at Brighton but he could possibly make way if Son Heung-min is in a position to start again after his recent hamstring injury.
