Arsenal striker Alessia Russo secured a 1-0 win over bitter rival Tottenham Hotspur in front of a sold-out crowd of 60,050 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday to keep the host in the chase for the Women’s Super League title.

Spurs full-back Sessegnon had an operation on his right hamstring on Monday, having previously had surgery on his left hamstring, and issued a warning on his social media channels asking people to “be careful what you say online”.

Aston Villa moved above Spurs after winning at Fulham. Tottenham was two points behind Villa as the race for the top four tightens.
