'Discussed internally' - insider gives Tottenham the news they need to make key sale - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have made just one new signing so far in the summer 2025 tranfer window after the Morgan Gibbs-White deal collapsed, as West Ham right winger Mohammed Kudus is the one true upgrade from the squad that won the 2024/25 Europa League title but also finished a lowly 17th in the Premier League.

Aside from adding one more attacking game-changer besides Kudus to replace the "loss" of Gibbs-White, Spurs absolutely have to upgrade their midfield for new manager Thomas Frank if they want to have a prayer at competing with the big boys like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City in the Premier League next season.

But it seems like, for some silly reason, if Tottenham want to make the signings they need in the middle of the park, they need to offload an unwanted midfielder. And the midfielder they really want to sell to raise funds and clear space this summer is Yves Bissouma, who no longer has a future at the club.

Tottenham are having trouble making the sale

Despite some links to the Turkish Super Lig, Tottenham have found it difficult to find potential transfer partners interested in Bissouma. Now, though, they have found an opening and the right suitor they need to get in touch with in order to sell the experienced Premier League midfielder for a tidy sum.

According to a report from Give Me Sport's Ben Jacobs, Al-Ahli of the Saudi Pro League are interested in making huge waves in the transfer market this summer to compete with their rivals further up the table. Al-Ahli would reportedly like to sign six to eight new players this transfer window. Their priority is to add more help to the middle of the park, and after showing cursory interest in Morgan Gibbs-White, of all players, Al-Ahli are now looking at Tottenham No. 8 Yves Bissouma as one option in the middle of the park.

There are other two candidates among those on the list are also Premier League players in Leicester City's more attacking Bilal El Khannouss and the Foxes' more defensive - and more experienced - option Wilfried Ndidi.

Saudi Pro League sides have money to burn, and when a club like Al-Ahli is desperate to make sweeping upgrades, there is profit to be made. If Tottenham can somehow sell Bissouma for more than 30 million euros this summer to Al-Ahli, that could go a long way in helping Spurs sign a much better midfielder to revamp their crew.

transfer insider reveals dream target's low opinion of Tottenham

'Bigger club' - transfer insider reveals dream target's low opinion of Tottenham - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are staring down a potentially disastrous summer transfer window, Even though tye won the Europa League last season and hired a new manager in Thomas Frank, Spurs risk falling behind in the Premier League's arm race, which has been favoring a select quartet of big spenders, by only signing Mohammed Kudus to fority a squad that finished just 17th in the Premier League last season.

Spurs supporters want to see the club go after some marquee attacking options before the window closes, especially if they are to sell club legend Son Heung-min to MLS side LAFC or some other suitor in the Saudi Pro League or Turkish Super Lig.

The biggest name to be linked to Tottenham on the wings is Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes, who has found himself increasingly marginalized and outside the bubble at the club. He already couldn't play in his favored position before Kyilan Mbappe's arrival, but the signing of the Frenchman pretty much doomed Rodrygo, who himself turned in his worst season in the last three on an indivudal level.

Even with the hire of Xabi Alonso, Rodrygo is expected to leave Madrid, with Premier League clubs circling to sign him. Liverpool, Arsenal , and Chelsea have all lined up with interest, and the Reds, in particular, may be more interested after selling star left winger Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.

Not big enough? Make it make sense

But it looks like anyone hoping for Tottenham to be in the mix should get rid of those thoughts quickly. Foot Mercato's Santi Aouna has reported that despite the transfer rumors, Rodrygo Goes has "no interest" in joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer. Worse yet, Aouna left in a little jab at Spurs, stating that Rodrygo wants to join a "bigger club" than Tottenham as his next step after Real Madrid.

Well, there have been plenty of players who left Real Madrid for Manchester United thinking that the change would help them only to find themselves finished. United haven't been in the mix for Rodrygo and already signed Premier League Brazilian star Matheus Cunha and one-time Tottenham right wing transfer target Bryan Mbeumo, so they are more focused on a No. 9.

But the point is that Tottenham are not a small club and this idea of "small vs. big" club when deciding among the Premier League top six is really a moot point. The most important thing a player should think about is their fit and opportunities.

Rodrygo can shine wherever he goes. Tottenham, in all reality, aren't interested in Rodrygo not because of his age, quality, or expected value but rather because Daniel Levy is a cheap man who won't compete with other elite clubs to sign a player for 100 million euros plus potentially 15-20 million euros per season in wages.

Fabrizio Romano's latest transfer drop is an omen for Tottenham

'Full agreement' - Fabrizio Romano's latest transfer drop is an omen for Tottenham - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur looked like they were going to be serious buyers at one point this transfer window, because after a slow start wherein their only "addition" was signing Mathys Tel permanently from Bayern Munich, they snapped up West Ham star Mohammed Kudus out of nowhere and then seemingly signed Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest just as quickly.

But now that the Gibbs-White deal has collapsed, Tottenham have gone quiet on the transfer market, and their only new addition is Kudus. Tottenham fans are staring down the barrel of another transfer window under Daniel Levy with more false promises than tangible upgrades.

Now, Tottenham supporters have to focus again on young talents departing the club, as Spurs are in talks to loan away uber-talented wide playmaker Mikey Moore and top backup goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky so that they can get the minutes they need to develop into possible world-class talents.

The Moore loan is understandable, and while Kinsky would benefit from more playing time, the tough part for Spurs is that losing him would severely curtail the team's depth at goalkeeper with no top backup for Guglielmo Vicario.

The goalkeeping carousel in France

Kinsky has been linked with a move to Lille as Lucas Chevalier's replacement if the talented goalkeeper were to move French clubs to giants PSG, whose elite goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is being linked with a potential move to the city of Manchester.

Now, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano, PSG are "now close" to signing Chevalier from Lille and reaching a "full agreement" for the young French shot-stopper. Paris already have an "agreement done" with Chevalier, and they are in the "final stages" of negotations with their Ligue 1 rivals for a permanent transfer.

That means Lille are also close to signing a replacement, and Kinsky is seen as their priority as a loan signing, thus replacing one of Europe's best young goalkeepers with another in Kinsky, who is even more underrated than Chevalier despite plying his trade at a well-followed club in Tottenham Hotspur.

Loaning away Kinsky will be a divisive move for Tottenham fans, but even Daniel Levy won't entertain the idea of selling the talented 22-year-old Czech goalkeeper. Even he knows that Kinsky is far too valuable to sell, as the shot-stopper is tabbed as the heir to the starting goalkeeper position and Vicario's eventual replacement - the true heir to the post between the sticks once occupied by Hugo Lloris.

insiders hand Tottenham fans more troubling Son Heung

'Advancing' - insiders hand Tottenham fans more troubling Son Heung-min news - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have made one just major signing in the summer 2025 transfer window, as Mohammed Kudus of West Ham is the sole difference between last season's squad and next seaon's if things remain as they do currently.

But Tottenham may soon have an impetus to sign another star forward, shortly after striking out on Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest. Because star Son Heung-min, one of the most historic figures at the club, is on the verge of an exit despite initially looking more likely to stay than leave for the final year of his contract with Spurs.

It seems like Tottenham were merely waiting for the tour in Seoul to end so they could cash in on Son's likeness, avoid any penalty for selling him, and then move on with a sale to the United States, Saudi Arabia, or Turkey.

Son's days in North London are numbered

According to new information from Tom Bogert and Ben Jacobs of Give Me Sport, MLS giants LAFC are "advancing in talks" to sign Son this summer. Son reportedly prefers a move to America over one to Saudi, and if he wants to leave the club, Tottenham won't stop him from doing so. The report also confirms that Tottenham have been waiting until after the trip to Seoul to sell.

MLS continues to add big names from European footballing giants, and it looks like Son and Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller could be the next two men to head over to America and join the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Marco Reus this summer.

The overall transfer fee Tottenham net from Son could be significantly less than the 50 million euros they were hoping for, but if Son wants to call it quits in the Premier League at 33 and if he is the one who doesn't want to continue this relationship, then Tottenham and the fans have to respect that. Son has given it his all for the club, and it would be fitting for him to leave as a European champion.

There is simply no way Tottenham replace Son as a player, his unique profile, and certainly not what he's meant to the club. But they will have another capable captain to fill his shoes in Cristian Romero, and if they make the right signing on the left wing to pair with Mathys Tel, they may not miss Son as much on the pitch next season either.

Tottenham must show ambition by attempting to sign Real Madrid superstar - Hotspur HQ

The whole Morgan Gibbs-White debacle has us Tottenham supporters feeling a little bit sorry about ourselves, with Evangelos Marinakis feeling the brunt of our frustrations.

We were moving like a serious club a couple of weeks back, when news broke of Gibbs-White's medical after his release clause was triggered. From that moment on, however, the Lilywhites have buffered. Johan Lange is nowhere to be seen. All has been quiet on the Western Front.

Thomas Frank's 29-man travelling squad for Spurs' preseason tour features exciting youth but just one fresh face, Mohammed Kudus. While the Ghanaian international is an excellent signing in isolation, we need a whole lot more. Quality more than quantity.

It's fair to say that anyone turning their nose up at Real Madrid star Rodrygo is, well, miles off it.

Tottenham surely can't pull off statement Rodrygo transfer

This self depracting fanbase was in fine form when the initial links from Spain emerged regarding our supposed interest in Madrid's Rodrygo.

While the Brazilian has almost always been regarded on the periphery of superstardom in the Spanish capital, there's no denying his supreme talent and capacity to shift the outlook of Thomas Frank's first season in charge were he to make the unlikely move to north London.

Those first reports were laughed off, but maybe, just maybe, there was a semblance of truth in them. The word of TBR Football's Graeme Bailey is not to be taken for gospel, but he says that the winger would in fact be "open" to joining the Europa League winners this summer. Moreover, Spanish radio journalist Ramon Alvarez adds that talks have begun between Spurs and the player's camp.

You, of course, have to be pessimistic. We've been burned in these sorts of situations countless times, from Paulo Dybala to Gibbs-White, and many will wonder, if there's any truth in these reports, what could go wrong to scupper the deal.

Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with the 24-year-old, although the former are prioritising Eberechi Eze and the latter want Alexander Isak to complete the rejuvenation of Arne Slot's attack. Rodrygo, it would appear, isn't currently at the forefront of either team's mind.

With Madrid willing to sell for around £80m, Spurs would seemingly have the money available to sign Rodrygo, having attempted to buy Gibbs-White for £60m. The winger's wages also aren't extortionate in the Spanish capital (just over £200,000-a-week, per MSN), and we look set to lose our highest earner in Son Heung-min this summer.

Financially, this is a deal we can pull off, and one we should target if we want to start functioning like a big boy club keen on challenging at the summit of the English game again.

However, such ambition and ruthlessness has rarely been demonstrated by the top brass.

Forget the midfield, Spurs desperately need to improve this position

Forget The Midfield, Spurs Desperately Need To Improve This Position - Hotspur HQ
Description

Critics of Ange-ball pilloried Spurs’ predictable, if maniacal, style of play. Anyone, and sometimes everyone, was encouraged to go forward to get on the end of low crosses into the box. Brennan Johnson thrived in that role, particularly at the far post. But it wasn’t uncommon to see Cristian Romero taking up positions traditionally occupied by strikers, Destiny Udogie bombing through the left channel toward goal, or Pedro Porro playing a similar role to David Beckham.Â

The drawbacks of Ange’s blitzkrieg-style attack were obvious and well-documented. The Aussie’s tactical philosophy not only left Spurs’ vulnerable to counter-attacks, it turned what should have been a stalwart defensive unit into one of the most porous in the Premier League.Â

Thomas Frank is a far more pragmatic tactician than Ange Postecoglou. But if the Dane’s first three preseason matches as Spurs manager provide us with a glimpse of the future, he’ll need to find a solution to a problem the Aussie encountered last season.

Spurs are in dire need of a striker with a different profile than Dominic Solanke or Richarlison. The former is a talented hold-up man with a tireless work rate and a penchant for scoring scrappy goals. Richarlison has similar attributes, even though he doesn’t perform any of those skills quite as proficiently as the former Bournemouth number nine. While both are serviceable Premier League center forwards, neither is capable of creating their own shot nor striking fear into opposing defenses.

There are great options in France and Germany

While Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have already signed new strikers, there are a number of others still on the market who can add a different dimension to Spurs’ front line and dramatically improve their attacking options.

Daniel Levy would be wise to start with a trip to France, where he could to attempt to pry Randall Kolo Muani or Gonçalo Ramos away from PSG. Both are reportedly on the chopping block and each would cost less than Tottenham paid for Solanke or Richarlison. If those options didn’t work out, he could target cheaper, less established alternatives like Nice’s Evann Guessand or Rennes’ Arnaud Kalimuendo.

There is also a triumvirate of strikers currently plying their trade in the Bundesliga. Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League, although reports suggest Newcastle are considering him as a replacement for Alexander Isak, should the Swede leave for Liverpool. Similarly, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško also seems destined to land in the Premier League, with Manchester United expressing the most interest. Spurs could also target his strike partner Loïs Openda, despite his significant drop in form last season.

Juventus’ Dušan Vlahović is another in-demand striker looking for a new club, having fallen out of Igor Tudor’s plans. The transfer fee would be around half of what I Bianconeri paid for him in 2022, although he’s expected to demand a hefty salary. Levy could try to swing a deal closer to home and bring Christopher Nkunku, another striker who has been deemed surplus to requirements, to North London. Like Vlahović, he is available for a fraction of the price Chelsea paid for him. But he, too, would likely command a record-breaking wage.

Mikey Moore isn't the only great talent Tottenham are in talks to send on loan

Mikey Moore isn't the only great talent Tottenham are in talks to send on loan - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur quietly unearthed a gem during the 2024/25 campaign ,as winger/attacking midfielder Mikey Moore put himself on the radar of everyone Tottenham fan with some electrifying performances in the Europa League.

Moore's cup of coffee under Ange Postecoglou should yield bigger opportunities in the 2025/26 season, but those chances probably won't come with Tottenham. The 17-year-old phenom can play on either wing or perform as an attacking midfielder, but he does his best work on the right side of the formation.

Well, Tottenham just invested 55 million pounds in one of the best young players in the Premier League, Mohammed Kudus, who plies his trade on the right side of the formation. Moore is thus on the block of potential loan transfers so that he can get more playing time, and exciting landing spots like Borussia Dortmund could provide that for him in 2025/26 to springboard his career to the next level.

But there's another, arguably more underrated, gem at Tottenham who is also just waiting to break out. Young goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky showed the world his prodigious talent in a League Cup semifinal fixture against eventual Premier League champions Liverpool, producing a dream debut.

Ligue 1 giants are ready to jump

Like Moore, Kinsky is buried on the depth chart, as Tottenham have one of Europe's better starting goalkeepers in Guglielmo Vicario. Now, Kinsky is only 22 years old, and the latest talented Czech goalkeeper has more upside than Vicario, meaning the starting job at Tottenham will almost undoubtedly be his one day.

But for now, Vicario is the top guy. In order to get the minutes he needs to develop, Kinsky must go out on loan at least as badly as Moore, and, already, a top club in European football is eyeing him as a priority replacement for their own potential departure.

According to a report from L'Equipe's Loic Tanzi and Damien Dagorre, Ligue 1 giants Lille have made Antonin Kinsky their top goalkeeping target to replace young superstar Lucas Chevalier, who could make a big step in his career by moving to French rivals PSG as Gianluigi Donnarumma's replacement. Donnarumma has been linked with a bold move to the Premier League, as rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are gunning after the reigning Champions League winner.

Chevalier is one of the best up-and-coming goalkeepers in world football, but Kinsky is also emerging in that bracket and could become a huge name with regular playing time as a well-known club like Lille. Then after the loan, he could come back to Tottenham and replace Vicario as a starter, depending on how long that loan is and how well both he and Vicario do.

Vicario is a good goalkeeper, but Kinsky could be special. Lille could offer him the right environment to become a major star, just like Mike Maignan, who won Ligue 1 for Les Dogues and used that as a launching pad to becoming one of the most famous goalkeepers in world football. Chevalier looks like he could be next and maybe Kinsky will be after that, too, but find his way back from the loan as a superstar in North London.

Tottenham injury update: Which players have been left out of pre-season tour? - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham have named a 29-man travelling squad for their tour to the Far East, with Destiny Udogie among the players to miss out throught injury.

Our pre-season preparations continued at the weekend, as Thomas Frank split his first-team squad into two for fixtures against Wycombe and Luton. Pape Matar Sarr was at the double in a 2-2 draw against the former before we played out a drab stalemate at Kenilworth Road later in the day.

Spurs will now head to Asia for pair of friendlies against Arsenal and Newcastle in Hong Kong and Seoul, respectively. We then return to Europe and take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena ahead of our first-ever appearance in the UEFA Super Cup.

The upcoming tour is, of course, significant from a commercial perspective, but the two fixtures, as well as the time Frank will have with his new squad, will be key in preparing us for Paris Saint-Germain and the start of the new season. However, the Dane does not have a full complement of players available in the Far East.

Tottenham name travelling squad for pre-season tour

Spurs released the list of players travelling to Hong Kong on Sunday night, with Udogie the most notable absentee. The Italian international was absent at the weekend through injury, and whatever setback he's sustained was significant enough to leave him out of the squad.

Dominic Solanke and Rodrigo Bentancur also weren't risked on Saturday, but Frank has included both of them. James Maddison has continued to step up his recovery from a knee injury this summer, and could feature for the first time in pre-season on tour. The Englishman's return is a big boost, especially with Dejan Kulusevski out injured and Morgan Gibbs-White remaining at Nottingham Forest.

Radu Dragusin, Bryan Gil, Manor Solomon and new signing Kota Takai all didn't make the squad due to injuries.

The other surprise was the absence of Mikey Moore, who burst onto the scene last season and is regarded as the most gifted Tottenham academy prospect in years. He, along with Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett, have been left out to secure loan moves away.

There was room for 16-year-old Jun'ai Byfield, however, while George Abbott will hope to make an impression after signing a new long-term contract with the club.

In truth, it looks like a familiar squad. If you discount the few academy products, Mohammed Kudus is the only fresh face. With Udogie out, Ben Davies is the only senior left-back, so expect Djed Spence to play plenty down that flank until the Italian returns.

Fabrizio Romano's big Arsenal transfer news is a challenge to Tottenham

'Keen on the move' - Fabrizio Romano's big Arsenal transfer news is a challenge to Tottenham - Hotspur HQ
Description

There's nothing more shameful to Tottenham Hotspur than being consistently behind Arsenal, and after flirting with the idea of taking over North London in the 2010s with Premier League and even Champions League title pushes, Spurs are still faltering in comparison to their biggest rivals.

Arsenal have the bigger stars and are making the more ambitious transfers, and while it's easy to meme Mikel Arteta for not winning major silverware whereas Spurs are coming off a Europa League title, the harsh reality is that Arsenal were Champions League semifinalists and second in the Premier League whereas Spurs were 17th.

And this summer, the gulf in ambition between these two historic Premier League clubs is obvious. Whereas Arsenal are signing a multitude of well-known players like Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi, all Tottenham have is a smart gamble on Mohammed Kudus. And they lost out on an obvious transfer, Thomas Frank's protege Christian Norgaard, to Arsenal in a heartbeat.

The latest player Tottenham and Arsenal have been trading blows for is London hero Eberechi Eze, who helped lift Crystal Palace to the FA Cup title last season without Michael Olise by his side. Eze is arguably the best attacking midfielder on the transfer market, and whereas Tottenham have cooled their interest in the 27-year-old, Arsenal have not.

Arsenal aren't done with just Viktor Gyokeres

Per a new report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal "remain in contact" with Eze, and the Palace star himself is still "keen" on joining the Gunners this summer. However, Arsenal have yet to engage in new formal talks with Crystal Palace, as they are focused more on making sales after introducing new striker Gyokres to the mix.

That delay should give Tottenham the impetus they need to reengage their own talks with Crystal Palace, especially since their deal for Nottingham Forest No. 10 Morgan Gibbs-White just collapsed spectacularly, bumping them back down to square one in their effort to sign another true game-changing Premier League attacking player.

Tottenham have been embarrassed by Arsenal too often on the transfer market. They need to take the positive momentum of winning a major European title last season and prove that they want more, investing in the squad and outcompeting with rivals like Arsenal.

As much as fans go back and forth, Tottenham and Arsenal should be around the same level. Tottenham should be beating Arsenal to targets on the transfer market as often as they lose to the Gunners, and as they watch as Eze expresses admiration for Arsenal through reporters, they have to light a fire under themselves and try to compete harder for Eze.

Fabrizio Romano reveals even Everton are ahead of Tottenham in transfers

'Advanced talks' - Fabrizio Romano reveals even Everton are ahead of Tottenham in transfers - Hotspur HQ
Description

Tottenham Hotspur risk entering the 2025/25 Premier League and Champions League seasons with just one major new signing in their ranks, and although they won a historic Europa League title last season, they also finished the domestic campaign in a shocking 17th place to set a different kind of historic record.

Now that the Morgan Gibbs-White transfer has fallen apart at the seams, Tottenham have really only brought in Mohammed Kudus as a new signing this summer. And while Kudus should have massive potential under Thomas Frank, only signing him is simply insufficient.

Tottenham need to focus on bolstering their midfield, but after the Gibbs-White deal's collapse, Spurs also have a need for another game-changer in the attacking half. The thing is, they've shown no urgency, and clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal are absolutely lapping Daniel Levy on the transfer market.

Tottenham can't have less pull than Everton

And now, even Everton is getting the best of Tottenham this summer. According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Everton are in "advanced talks" to sign Lyon star Malick Fofana, who has been closely linked to Merseyside rivals Liverpool, as well as Tottenham and their London rivals Chelsea.

Fofana is one of the most talented young players in Ligue 1 and was a highly intriguing left wing breakout player in the 2024/25 season. The 20-year-old Belgian international contributed to nine goals last season despite not being a regular starter, and with the level of clubs interested in him, there's a sense around Europe that Fofana could be the next big thing.

Whereas Tottenham have sat on the sidelines watching, Everton are in "direct talks", per Romano, for the Ligue 1 standout and are pushing to agree to "personal terms" with the U21 talent. Now, Tottenham did add Wilson Odobert last summer and signed Mathys Tel permanently this year, but with Son Heung-min potentially leaving this window, Spurs have an opening for another left wing option.

But it looks like Tottenham are, once again, outside the picture. That's their own doing, too. They have not pushed hard enough for players like Fofana who are young, ascending, and valued highly by other top clubs in the Premier League. Kudus has proven to be more of an exception than the rule, and it seems like Spurs can only make signings for obvious fits who don't have too much competition. Fofana to Everton would be another sign that Tottenham are not punching at their weight on a consistent basis in the transfer market.
