Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer window has been filled with speculation, from potential signings to departures.

Will Lankshear is reportedly set for a Championship loan move, while the club continues to pursue a late deal for Fikayo Tomori before the deadline.

However, the biggest talking point remains Mathys Tel’s decision to reject a move to North London, raising further concerns about the club’s recruitment strategy.

Beyond transfers, questions are now being asked about the future of manager Ange Postecoglou.

Despite a promising start to the season, recent struggles have led to speculation over his long-term prospects.

While he is expected to remain in charge for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal against Liverpool, reports suggest Spurs are already exploring potential alternatives should results fail to improve.

One Bundesliga coach has now emerged as a serious option for Tottenham, adding another layer of intrigue to an already uncertain situation.

Spurs reportedly interested in Edin Terzic

According to journalist Dean Jones, former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic is on Tottenham’s radar as a ‘genuine option’ should Postecoglou’s tenure come to an end.

Terzic, who led Dortmund to a Champions League final and competed at the highest level in the Bundesliga, has been out of work since leaving the German club last summer.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones stated: “Edin Terzic’s success at Borussia Dortmund, including guiding them to a Champions League final, has not gone unnoticed. Recently, he was considered for the West Ham United job, and the German tactician is seen as a genuine option for Tottenham, offering the potential for long-term growth.”

While Terzic’s record in Germany is impressive, his tactical philosophy differs significantly from Postecoglou’s.

The former Dortmund boss has been criticised for a pragmatic approach, often relying on direct play rather than a possession-based system.

If Spurs were to pursue him, it could mean another major squad rebuild to align with his methods, raising concerns over the club’s long-term vision.

Postecoglou deserves more time

While results have dipped, Postecoglou should not be the scapegoat for Tottenham’s struggles.

Injuries to key players have disrupted the squad, and the club’s recruitment issues fall largely on chairman Daniel Levy.

Dismissing Postecoglou at this stage would be premature, especially considering the progress made earlier in the season.

If Spurs do make a managerial change, it will only highlight deeper structural problems within the club.

Terzic may be a talented coach, but constant upheaval will do little to bring stability to Tottenham’s long-term project.

Daniel Levy faces Tottenham fan backlash after failed transfer move

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is no stranger to scrutiny, but recent events have put him firmly under the microscope once again.

As the January transfer window nears its end, Spurs fans are growing increasingly frustrated with the club's lack of new signings despite glaring squad weaknesses.

While Ange Postecoglou has managed to keep the team competitive despite an ongoing injury crisis, it is evident that reinforcements are needed.

Yet, with only days left in the window, Tottenham has failed to secure any major outfield additions, leading to concerns about the club’s ambitions for the remainder of the season.

A recent failed pursuit of a promising young talent has only added to the frustrations.

Spurs had been in talks with Bayern Munich for a potential signing, but despite Levy personally travelling to Germany to negotiate, the player ultimately rejected the move.

Transfer woes and missed opportunities

Tottenham’s injury crisis has highlighted the urgent need for reinforcements, particularly in defence.

With Radu Dragusin facing an uncertain spell on the sidelines, Spurs have turned their attention to AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori as a potential signing.

However, securing a deal in the final days of the window remains a major challenge.

Despite the club’s struggles in the league, Postecoglou remains confident that Spurs can still attract top players.

"It’s still a big club, it’s still a club that can challenge for honours and it’s whether the player sees the potential that we see right now, or certainly that I see," the Australian told Football London when asked about the challenges of attracting new signings midway through the season.

While Tottenham has been actively scouting talent, the club has been cautious about making panic buys.

"You need a bit of discipline. The one thing I don’t want to do is bring somebody in who is just going to be another body," Postecoglou added, emphasising the importance of securing players who fit his long-term vision.

What's next for Tottenham

The return of key players such as James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, and Cristian Romero in the coming weeks could provide a much-needed boost for the squad.

Meanwhile, tensions among the fanbase continue to rise, with many supporters calling for Daniel Levy’s departure.

When asked about the mounting pressure on the chairman, Postecoglou jokingly remarked, "It’s a bit harsh to say I’m responsible. It’s not like I’m in the middle of it sort of starting the chant!"

With just days left in the window, all eyes will be on Levy to see if he can deliver the reinforcements Tottenham so desperately needs.

Description

The situation at Tottenham is becoming increasingly uncertain, with Ange Postecoglou under mounting pressure to turn things around.

Despite a promising start to the season, recent struggles have left fans and club officials questioning whether the Australian is the right man to lead Spurs forward.

While Postecoglou still has time to steady the ship, the club's hierarchy is reportedly preparing contingency plans should results fail to improve.

A number of names have emerged as potential candidates, including some unexpected options.

With the transfer window closing and the return of key players from injury, the coming weeks will be crucial in determining Postecoglou’s future.

If things do not change soon, Tottenham may be forced to make a difficult decision.

Who could replace Ange Postecoglou?

Reports suggest that Spurs have compiled a shortlist of nine potential successors, should Postecoglou’s tenure come to an early end.

Among the leading names are Borussia Dortmund’s Edin Terzic, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, and Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola.

Bournemouth, aware of Spurs’ interest in Iraola, are already working on securing him with a new contract to fend off potential suitors.

Another candidate being considered is Fulham’s Marco Silva, though his reported £8m release clause may make him a less attractive option for chairman Daniel Levy.

However, the biggest surprise on the list is Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna. The 38-year-old, who came through the ranks at Spurs' academy, has impressed with his tactical approach despite Ipswich’s struggles in the Premier League.

Is Ryan Mason the most likely option?

Despite the variety of names on the shortlist, according to GIVEMESPORT, Ryan Mason is the most realistic interim solution if Postecoglou departs.

Mason, who is currently part of the coaching staff, has already served as caretaker manager twice before and is highly respected within the dressing room.

The media reports that Ryan Mason is seen as 'a strong candidate' to take charge in the short term while the club searches for a long-term replacement.

His familiarity with the squad and understanding of Spurs’ philosophy make him a logical choice if Tottenham decide to make a change.

For now, Postecoglou remains in charge, but with mounting speculation, his position at the club could be on shaky ground if results do not improve soon.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been a club in the headlines recently, with news swirling around N17.

From Dane Scarlett's potential stay after a Europa League impact to another Tottenham youngster eyeing a loan move before the transfer deadline, the club is a hive of activity.

That win against Elfsborg in the Europa League, with the youngsters doing bits and getting us into the next round, was a bit of a bright spot. But, you know, things aren't exactly rosy.

There's a proper tense vibe around Tottenham at the minute. The fans are making their feelings known, online and at the ground, and they're not happy.

A lot of it's aimed at the top brass, but the gaffer's getting some stick too, 'cause let's face it, we've been all over the shop lately.

Everyone's wondering what's next, but Ange seems determined to stick to his guns.

Ange Postecoglou says this can still be a successful season for Tottenham

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has addressed the concerns of the supporters, acknowledging the current situation and offering a message of hope.

He insisted that there are still opportunities to turn the season around and achieve success.

"My message would be to all Spurs fans because I represent them all not just the angry ones that you are referring to or maybe talking to. All Spurs fans. We are working hard to turn this around," Postecoglou said (via Alasdair Gold).

He continued, “Obviously we know the situation, notwithstanding the fact the possibilities and opportunities in the second half of this season are still very much in our hands to capitalise on and still make it a successful season.”

Those words, meant to calm things down, will probably get a mixed reception. Some fans might like his positive outlook, but others will think he's miles away from what's actually happening.

The pressure's right on Postecoglou now, and the next few months are massive for him. With some huge games coming up, like that Carabao Cup semi at Anfield, there's not much room for mistakes. Basically, he needs to win something this season, or it's curtains, and he knows it.

Postecoglou deserves support at Tottenham

Postecoglou needs some backing. The real issue at Tottenham isn't him, it's the board. They've been making dodgy decisions for ages, and the fans are the ones who suffer.

But, Ange needs to be a bit more straight with the supporters, too. No need to sugarcoat things, they're not daft.

If the team's not performing, just say it and focus on fixing it. But honestly, sticking with the gaffer is key, it's the only way things will get better.

Tottenham Hotspur find themselves at a crossroads, with questions swirling around the future of their manager.

Amid disappointing results and mounting pressure, the club is seriously considering its next move. In the mix of potential candidates, one name seems to be at the forefront: Ryan Mason.

The former player and interim manager could be stepping into the spotlight once again.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has witnessed a series of struggles this season. With the team languishing in 15th place in the Premier League, pressure has been mounting on the shoulders of the current manager.

Tottenham's recent form is far from encouraging, leaving fans questioning how much longer the current regime can continue.

Ryan Mason’s chances to replace Ange Postecoglou

The rumour mill is already in full swing regarding the potential departure of Ange Postecoglou.

After a string of poor performances, including a shocking 2-1 loss to Leicester in January, the Australian manager’s future is uncertain.

However, despite Tottenham's struggles, it seems chairman Daniel Levy is willing to give Postecoglou a chance to turn things around.

According to ESPN, the manager has not been dismissed yet, and the club is hopeful he can salvage his job.

Should Postecoglou fail to meet expectations, however, Ryan Mason is already considered one of the top contenders to take over.

The 33-year-old currently serves as an assistant coach to Postecoglou, but his managerial experience in recent years could put him in the frame for a permanent role.

In fact, Mason has been named the third favourite by bookmakers to succeed Postecoglou, with odds of 9/1.

The road Behind Ryan Mason

Mason's time as interim manager for Tottenham is worth noting. In 2021 and 2023, he was called upon to take charge following the exits of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

One of the more challenging moments came in 2021, when he was thrust into the Carabao Cup final, where Tottenham fell short against Manchester City.

This season, however, Mason could potentially find himself managing Tottenham in another final. Spurs are currently 1-0 up against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, with the second leg set for 6 February.

A win in that fixture could see them face either Arsenal or Newcastle at Wembley.

With the prospect of silverware on the horizon, Postecoglou may still be in the running for a job if Tottenham continues to perform well in this competition.

Tottenham's future is far from certain, and while Postecoglou fights to prove himself, Ryan Mason's name remains firmly in the frame as the club looks to solidify their next move.

Tottenham and Newcastle battle for £55m star

Tottenham’s hunt for emerging talent continues, and this time, the focus is on one of the Premier League’s brightest young prospects: Tyler Dibling.

The Southampton winger has been making waves this season, and as the transfer deadline looms, speculation around his future is growing.

However, Spurs are not the only club keen on securing his signature.

With the January transfer window nearing its end, one club in particular is hoping the teenager will hold off on making a decision.

Newcastle United are closely monitoring the situation, hoping to swoop in during the summer should Tottenham’s pursuit falter.

Tottenham’s offer and Newcastle’s dilemma

Reports suggest that Tottenham are in advanced talks with Southampton over a potential deal for Dibling.

The proposed structure would see the 18-year-old move on an initial loan with an obligation to buy, allowing Spurs to defer the hefty £50m asking price until the summer.

Given the financial demands involved, this approach could provide the North London club with an advantage.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are unable to match Southampton’s valuation at this moment.

Eddie Howe’s side are admirers of Dibling’s talent and are desperate for him to delay any immediate transfer so they can re-enter the race at the end of the season.

According to GIVEMESPORT, with their funds tied up, the Magpies can only watch and hope that the young winger does not finalise a move to Tottenham before the window closes.

Adding further intrigue to the saga, reports indicate that Manchester United and RB Leipzig are also keeping a close eye on the situation.

With multiple suitors circling, Southampton hold a strong negotiating position, particularly as Dibling’s current contract runs for another two and a half years.

How the Mathys Tel deal could impact Spurs’ plans

An unexpected twist in Tottenham’s transfer business could impact their pursuit of Dibling.

The club has reportedly agreed a deal worth €60m with Bayern Munich for Mathys Tel, a highly rated French forward.

If this move is finalised, it could lead Spurs to reassess their need for Dibling, potentially leaving the door open for Newcastle or another club to make a late push.

For now, Dibling remains a Southampton player, but with just days left in the window, the next chapter in his career could be decided imminently.

Will he choose to join Tottenham, wait for Newcastle, or surprise everyone with an alternative move?

Dane Scarlett set to stay at Tottenham after Europa League impact

Tottenham's Dane Scarlett has been making waves recently, and his latest performance might have just secured his place in the squad for the rest of the season.

The young striker has spent the first half of the campaign away from North London, but circumstances have shifted, opening up a new opportunity for him at Spurs.

Scarlett's return to the first team setup comes at a crucial time for Tottenham, with injuries affecting key players in the squad.

While many expected him to go out on another loan spell, a key moment in the Europa League may have changed his immediate future.

Dane Scarlett’s return and Europa League impact

Dane Scarlett was recalled from his loan at Championship side Oxford United earlier this month, having made 22 appearances and scoring four goals during his time there.

Despite speculation that he might head out on loan again, his involvement in Thursday night's Europa League fixture against Elfsborg has ensured he will remain at Spurs for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old came off the bench in the 66th minute to replace the injured Radu Dragusin. Just four minutes later, Scarlett made his presence felt, scoring with a well-placed header inside the box to put Tottenham ahead.

His goal not only helped Spurs secure a crucial victory but also effectively ended any chances of him going out on loan again this season.

Due to FIFA regulations, players are only allowed to play for two clubs in a single season.

Before his appearance against Elfsborg, Scarlett had yet to feature for Tottenham this campaign, meaning he was still eligible for another loan move.

However, now that he has played, he will remain at the club for the remainder of the season.

A bigger role for Dane Scarlett?

With injuries affecting Tottenham’s options, Scarlett’s presence could be vital in the coming months.

Dominic Solanke is currently sidelined, and with Spurs dealing with various squad shortages, keeping Scarlett in the first-team setup seems like a logical decision.

There have also been reports of Tottenham pursuing Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, with a €60 million bid allegedly accepted.

If that transfer falls through, Scarlett could find himself playing an even bigger role in the team.

Speaking to Football London, Postecoglou said: "We had a look at his situation. He has had a couple of disappointing loans.

" I think sending him out again without any sort of real prospect of him developing, we just felt let’s keep him training with us and give him an opportunity to train with us and play with us and see how it goes."

Report: Tottenham youngster set for loan move before transfer deadline

With the transfer window closing in just a few days, Tottenham are making moves to ensure their young talents get the best opportunities for development.

Will Lankshear has been part of Ange Postecoglou’s senior squad this season, making multiple appearances but struggling for regular game time.

While Tottenham have high hopes for Lankshear, the club believes a temporary move could be the best path for his progression.

Several clubs are keen on securing his services for the remainder of the campaign, and Spurs have a clear preference for where they want him to go.

But with other young forwards also fighting for a place in the squad, Tottenham’s attack is going through some reshuffling.

Will Lankshear attracting Championship interest

According to reports from Football London, Will Lankshear looks set to leave on loan before Monday’s deadline.

Lankshear is expected to join a Championship club on loan, with Burnley, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Cardiff, and Luton among those interested in signing him.

While clubs abroad have also shown interest, Tottenham are keen for the forward to remain in England and gain experience in the second tier of English football.

Despite being involved with the first team this season, Lankshear was an unused substitute in Tottenham’s recent 3-0 Europa League win over Elfsborg.

Instead, Dane Scarlett was given the opportunity from the bench, scoring his first senior goal for the club with a header from a Dejan Kulusevski cross.

With Lankshear likely heading out, Scarlett will now stay with Tottenham for the rest of the season.

Initially recalled from his loan at Oxford United, the expectation was that Scarlett would be loaned out again.

However, after assessing his situation, Postecoglou decided to keep him in the squad as additional cover in attack.

Tottenham’s plan for their young strikers

Speaking about Scarlett’s situation, Postecoglou explained his reasoning behind keeping him at the club: "We had a look at his situation. He has had a couple of disappointing loans.

"I think sending him out again without any sort of real prospect of him developing, we just felt let’s keep him training with us and give him an opportunity to train with us and play with us and see how it goes."

While Scarlett gets his chance to impress at Tottenham, Lankshear will be looking to make the most of his expected loan move.

With Championship football offering a competitive environment, this could be a crucial step in his development before returning to Spurs in the summer.

Spurs agree fee with Bayern Munich for highly rated teenager

According to a report on Thursday from French outlet L'Equipe, Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a fee with Bayern Munich for Mathys Tel, for a fee of 60 million Euros, which is the equivalent of a little over 50 million pounds.

As per reports, Spurs agree fee with Bayern for Mathys Tel

They state that the Frenchman must now decide whether or not he wants to join. It has been widely reported that he is not short of offers this month, so there is certainly no guarantee that he will choose Spurs.

You would, however, like to hope that he appreciates Spurs' willingness to invest in him and agree a fee before anyone else. Furthermore, he would basically be guaranteed game time at Spurs. Anywhere across the attack. Ange's side barely have any players, and those available are running on empty.

Out of all of the clubs interested in him, he would get the most minutes at Spurs. No doubt about that. That said, a permanent deal has plenty of different permutations. The player really wants to succeed at Bayern, so may rather hope for a loan deal, establish himself - and (ideally) go back to Bavaria and get regular game time next season.

That too, and with a permanent deal, there is more to consider than just Spurs having players injured at the moment. What happens when (if) everyone is fit - even if that doesn't happen until next season? He is good enough to get games regardless, but will he back himself for that?

Interestingly, amidst all the speculation, Tel started for Bayern against Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League last night, playing off the left hand side. He played 62 minutes, and had seven shots - before being substituted.

One of the reasons that the 19-year old does not get much game time is quite close to home. Although a versatile player, he is naturally a striker, and well - in the summer of 2023 - we all know the acquisition that Bayern made.

That is no slight on the player however. Not playing over arguably the best striker in world football is not an insult. It does mean that he needs to play games, however. As touched on above, he can play wide, but more in the "inside forward" mould, whilst manager Vincent Kompany likes to use touchline wingers, meaning he has started just two Bundesliga games this season. Even when Harry Kane was out injured, Kompany used Thomas Muller up front.

Nevertheless, let's hope Kane and Eric Dier put in a good word. One more Spurs assist for Kane.

Ange Postecoglou addresses whether he feels backed by Tottenham

Tottenham are in the spotlight as the January transfer window nears its conclusion.

The club are engaged in a battle with multiple teams for a prolific striker, while Dejan Kulusevski recently responded to criticism from frustrated fans.

Meanwhile, young talent Yang Min-Hyeok is set for a loan move to QPR.

However, much of the attention remains on whether Spurs will strengthen their squad before the deadline.

With the team struggling in recent weeks, questions have been raised about the club’s approach to the window and whether Ange Postecoglou has received the support he expected.

So far, Tottenham have yet to sign an outfield player, leaving Postecoglou to navigate a demanding schedule with limited options.

The Australian had previously warned that delaying transfers was a risky strategy, but now, he has provided further insight into his view on the club’s support.

Ange Postecoglou speaks on his support from the board

When asked if he feels backed by the Tottenham board, Postecoglou offered a measured response. Speaking via football.london, he stated:

“Everyone is trying their utmost. I don’t think anyone is working against me.

“I don’t think anyone wants me to fail. I think everyone genuinely at the football club… this kind of situation is a tough gig for a manager. You can be very isolated, you can be very vulnerable. I don’t feel that.

“The people I work with are doing their utmost to try and help me guide us through this. I don’t feel like anyone is blocking that. From my perspective, my focus is firmly on the things I can control which is making sure I prepare a team for a really big game tomorrow.”

Postecoglou’s comments suggest he believes the club’s hierarchy, including Daniel Levy and Johan Lange, are making an effort to secure the right signings.

With just days remaining in the transfer window, it remains to be seen if their work will lead to any reinforcements.

Postecoglou deserves support, not blame

Ange Postecoglou isn’t the problem at Tottenham, he’s actually one of the few positives. The Aussie has given the team a clear identity, but he’s been left hanging by those above him.

Spurs fans are understandably frustrated, but the blame shouldn’t be on the manager. With injuries piling up and no real reinforcements arriving, he’s had to make do with what he has.

Yet, he’s stayed calm and focused. The real issue? The board’s reluctance to fully back him. If Tottenham want to move forward, they need to give Postecoglou the support he deserves, not leave him to struggle alone.
