Man Utd news: United 'in talks' to sign £55m winger and dash Tottenham dream - TEAMtalk
Description

Manchester United have opened talks to sign a Premier League winger ‘almost certain’ to be on the move this summer, though the presence of Tottenham could force United to either overpay or abort the deal, according to reports.

Chelsea stunned Man Utd one week ago when snatching an agreement for Geovany Quenda away from the Red Devils. The Portuguese sensation – who plays either at wing-back or winger – had been lined up for a reunion with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

However, Chelsea acted both in secret and decisively when launching a compelling move that barged Man Utd aside. The end result is Quenda will join Chelsea in the summer of 2026, with Sporting officially confirming the final fee is €50.77m plus a potential €1.36m in add-ons.

Man Utd must turn their attention for a wide addition elsewhere and according to GiveMeSport, they’ve wasted no time in looking closer to home.

It’s claimed Man Utd have ‘opened talks’ to sign Southampton hotshot, Tyler Dibling.

The 19-year-old has been a rare bright spark in what has otherwise been a campaign of doom and gloom on the south coast. But while the Saints are a shoo-in to go down, Dibling will remain in the Premier League.

GMS state a Dibling transfer is ‘almost certain’ and Man Utd hope to strike a deal for a fee in the £30m-£35m range.

Southampton are understood to value Dibling at £55m and under normal circumstances, they’d have to relax their demands given relegation will weaken their bargaining position.

However, Man Utd aren’t the only game in town, with GMS also confirming Tottenham are hovering. What’s more, Spurs are reported to have held exploratory club-to-club talks with Southampton.

GMS concluded Man Utd will only proceed with a deal for Dibling if the finances make sense.

If Tottenham refuse to go away, Man Utd may either have to pay more than they’d like or turn to a different wide option once again.

Truth behind Raphinha to Man Utd claims

TEAMtalk understands there is some truth in what initially appeared to be wild speculation linking Man Utd to Barcelona’s Raphinha.

The Brazilian is enjoying a career year with 27 goals and 20 assists to his name already this season. But at age 28, Raphinha would very much represent a short-term solution unlike Dibling and Quenda who’d be viewed as long-term investments.

Furthermore, convincing Raphinha to ditch Barcelona – who he labelled his dream club upon joining from Leeds – will be difficult.

There’s also footballing motivations to consider, with Barcelona potentially on course to win a quadruple this season at a time when Man Utd are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League.

Tottenham transfers: Spurs will 'accelerate' for Prem winger, as Man Utd still lurk for star signing - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham will reportedly ‘accelerate’ to land Tyler Dibling quickly once the summer transfer window opens, though Manchester United could still look to beat them.

Dibling has a number of suitors assessing him during his breakout season. He looks certain to leave Southampton, with his performances, coupled with their impending doom, showing that to be very likely.

Remaining in the Premier League could be possible with Tottenham or Manchester United.

Spurs will reportedly look to ‘accelerate’ a move for Dibling once the summer window has opened, attempting to get the move sorted early on, as per GIVEMESPORT.

But the Red Devils are still lurking for the winger, and after ‘continued communication’, have a good line of attack, but will ‘only aim to steal a march’ if they can reach a deal financially.

It’s believed if they can’t do that, the door will be open for Tottenham to secure Dibling’s signature.

Dibling wants Spurs move

That’s Spurs could be ahead in the race is not a surprise, given a report of late stated the winger was open to the move.

Indeed, Dibling is said to be ‘sold on’ becoming a Spurs player in the summer.

It was also suggested that he will be cheaper than first expected. In January, Southampton were asking for £55million for their thriving winger.

But the recent report stated £30-35million could be accepted, given Dibling is unlikely to pen a new deal, meaning his value would only continue to drop beyond the summer if he wasn’t to be sold then.

Tottenham round-up: Gomes pursuit continues

Lille midfielder Angel Gomes is being pursued by Spurs, but Manchester United remain interested in him, and while he’d be open to a move back to the Premier League, Gomes would also be keen to move to Barcelona, who are tracking him, TEAMtalk can confirm.

Sources have also stated that being able to offer European football will be crucial for Tottenham’s ability to land Marcus Thuram from Inter Milan.

The forward could also be more expensive than he could currently be sold for, with Inter hoping to offer him a new contract and remove his release clause.

And, Spurs are said to have submitted a £30million bid for Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Tottenham news: £71m forward signing awaits if Spurs overcome two hurdles

Tottenham face TWO major hurdles in pursuit of £71m explosive forward - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have a historical interest in Marcus Thuram, TEAMtalk understands, but the north London club could face a big challenge if they are to launch a bid for the Inter Milan forward as Liverpool and Arsenal’s stance on a potential deal comes to light.

Thuram has been on the books of Inter since 2023 and has established himself as one of the best forwards in Europe. The France international has scored 31 goals and provided 12 assists in 84 appearances for the Italian club so far in his career, with 16 goals and four assists coming this season. The explosive forward also won the Serie A title with the Nerazzurri in the 2023-24 season.

The France international forward is under contract at Inter until the summer of 2028, but there has been speculation that a number of Premier League clubs are interested in him.

One of the clubs mentioned elsewhere is Tottenham, but TEAMtalk understands that there is nothing new or active to date between Spurs and Thuram.

What we can reveal is that Tottenham have had a historical interest in the Frenchman, especially when Fabio Paratici was working full-time as managing director of football.

What is also true is that Tottenham will value a player who can operate wide left as well as centrally, especially as the north London club are not expected take up the option to sign Timo Werner on a permanent contract from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window

However, if Tottenham do decide to move for Thuram this summer, then there are two major hurdles for them to overcome.

Firstly, Thuram is unlikely to leave Inter for a club with no Champions League or European football next season.

The Italian club won Serie A last season and could win it again this campaign. Inter have also reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season.

Tottenham are down in 14th place in the Premier League table at the moment, although Ange Postecoglou’s side are in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, so qualifying for the Champions League next season is not yet out of the question.

Secondly, Inter themselves do not want to sell Thuram this summer. The club’s plan is to extend his current contract and remove the €85million (£71m, $92m) release clause if possible.

Liverpool and Arsenal links with Marcus Thuram clarified

Some reports suggest that Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested in a summer deal for Thuram.

While TEAMtalk understands that both the Reds and the Gunners want to sign a new striker, they have not made any moves for Thuram yet.

Newcastle United star Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s dream target. The Gunners also have RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko firmly on their radar.

Liverpool are also interested in Isak and will make a move for the Sweden international striker if he is genuinely on the market. But there are several other options being discussed at Liverpool as they start to crystalise their summer plans.

Newcastle are on a high at the moment after winning the Carabao Cup, and now is not the time to approach the Magpies or Isak. Both Newcastle and Isak are solely focused on finishing the season strongly and trying to qualify for the Champions League.

While sources have told TEAMtalk that Liverpool will add a new striker to their squad this summer and Darwin Nunez could leave for the Saudi Pro League or potentially Atletico Madrid, it is too early to tell who the Premier League leaders will go for.

Tottenham transfers: Spurs plotting ANOTHER big Leeds United raid for £40m star's brother

Tottenham transfers: Spurs plotting ANOTHER big Leeds United raid for £40m star's brother - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham signed wonderkid Archie Gray from Leeds United for £40m last summer and are plotting a move for the 19-year-old’s talented younger brother, Harry, per reports.

Spurs are keen to reinforce their squad with more young talents after the likes of Gray and Lucas Bergvall have established themselves as key players this term.

Archie is a product of Leeds‘ academy and is a lifelong Whites supporter, so it was a painful affair for Leeds fans when Tottenham managed to lure the England under-21s international from Elland Road.

According to TBR Football, Tottenham are plotting a move for Harry Gray this summer, but face competition from rivals Arsenal and Newcastle United.

The 16-year-old plays as a striker and is considered by some to be even more promising than his brother. His playing style has drawn comparisons with Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero, which is high praise.

The report claims that Leeds are ‘confident’ of keeping Gray amid the interest, although they’re not able to offer him a long-term contract until he turns 17 in October.

Tottenham are said to have ‘the advantage’ over other suitors in the race, no doubt aided by the fact that his brother is thriving with the London side.

Archie Gray: “My brother Harry is really good”

Gray is yet to make a senior appearance for Leeds, with manager Daniel Farke happy to allow him to develop in the youth sides at his own pace.

He has played six games with the under-18s side so far this term, notching two goals in the process.

Those at Leeds expect Gray to have a successful career at the highest level. If the Whites are able to secure promotion to the Premier League, that would no doubt help them keep hold of the youngster, although by all accounts he’s very happy at the club regardless.

Interestingly, Archie Gray was asked in a recent interview about which young players from Leeds he believes can make it at the highest level. He namedropped 18-year-old midfielder Charlie Crew, who is doing well on loan with Doncaster Rovers, and his brother Harry.

“Charlie Crew has been training with [England under-18s] for a few weeks, he’s a really good player. My brother as well is really good.”

“I don’t want to give him too much praise because he’s my brother and I shouldn’t be doing that, but yeah I’d say Charlie Crew.”

It will be interesting to see whether Tottenham do try and praise another Gray away from Leeds. If they don’t sign him this summer, Leeds will no doubt do all they can to pen a long-term contract with them in October.

Sources: Tottenham face THREE problems in Andoni Iraola pursuit - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have a genuine interest in appointing Andoni Iraola as their next head coach, but sources have told TEAMtalk the hurdles they will face while the future of Ange Postecoglou will not be decided until a very crucial point in the season.

Iraola has been hugely impressive in his role as the Bournemouth manager so far. Appointed as the Cherries boss in the summer of 2023, the 42-year-old Spaniard guided the club to a respectable 12th-placed finish in the Premier League last season. It is going even better this campaign, with Bournemouth only five points off the fourth spot and very much in the hunt for a Champions League place.

We reported on January 19 that Iraola is one of the managers Tottenham have taken a shine to, with the team struggling under Ange Postecoglou at the time. That still remains the case, with Spurs’ performances and results in the Premier League not getting any better.

Tottenham sit as low as 14th in the Premier League table and have already been knocked out of the FA Cup.

There are major question marks over the future of Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the north London club are evaluating all their options.

TEAMtalk understands that Iraola is the main candidate to replace Postecoglou if Spurs decide to sack the under-fire manager.

Sources have told us that the Tottenham hierarchy views the young Spanish manager as an elite coach under whom they could build a championship-competing side.

However, there are three major hurdles for Tottenham to overcome if they are to hire the Bournemouth boss.

The first question mark is whether Iraola would leave Bournemouth for Tottenham this summer.

Some would say that Tottenham are a bigger club than Bournemouth, but Iraola is building a great team at the Cherries and has a very strong relationship with the owners. The Cherries could also end up playing in the Champions League next season.

The second hurdle for Tottenham would be the competition that they could face for Iraola. Sources have told TEAMtalk that Spurs are not alone in their admiration of the 42-year-old. We understand that there are big clubs around Europe watching the progress of the Spaniard.

Thirdly, it is not impossible that Iraola turns down any move away from Vitality Stadium, just as Xabi Alonso decided to stay at Bayer Leverkusen last summer despite having interest from Liverpool. Iraola knows that a big move is in the pipeline.

Bournemouth have plans to keep building the club and taking the team into Europe. The Cherries are aware of how good Iraola is, and some have suggested that they want to offer him a new deal and extend his stay.

Tottenham plan about Ange Postecoglou – sources

TEAMtalk understands that Tottenham are not planning to sack Postecoglou rightaway.

While Spurs are keeping tabs on Iraola, their plan is to wait until they know their fate in the Europa League.

Tottenham have done well in Europe this season and have reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

The Premier League club will take on Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt for a place in the last four.

Latest Tottenham news: Bardghji interest, Cremaschi admiration

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing FC Copenhagen star Roony Bardghji.

The 19-year-old winger has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time, and the north London club would love to bring him to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, Premier League rivals Manchester City and Newcastle United are also keen on a deal for Bardghji.

Sources have told TEAMtalk that Tottenham are among several clubs interested in Inter Miami midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi.

Lionel Messi is a big fan of Cremaschi, with Tottenham considering an approach for him this summer.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the future of Mathys Tel, who joined Tottenham on loan from Bayern Munich late in the winter transfer window.

Romano said: “For Mathys Tel, they’re very happy with the boy, with the attitude, with the potential they see in this boy, and that’s why they were fighting for weeks to sign him in January.

“At the moment, their indication remains, as Postecoglou always says, that they trust him also for the future. Then let’s see what happens.”

Romano drops telling update on long-term future of struggling Tottenham forward - TEAMtalk
Description

Reputed transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has given an update on Tottenham’s stance when it comes to the long-term future of on-loan winger Mathys Tel, who has struggled to make an impact during his time in north London so far.

Spurs beat Premier League rivals Manchester United to the capture of the young French forward late in the winter window transfer, with Tel changing his mind over a move after rejecting their initial approach a week before his eventual arrival.

There was certainly plenty of noise surrounding the move for a player who has plenty of admirers in Munich, with Tottenham also having a purchase option which includes a six-year contract with a fee of £45.7million (€56m / $61m).

Tel made his Tottenham debut in the 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg and has scored just once in six appearances since.

Indeed, it’s fair to say that his performances so far have largely been underwhelming, although he did have some bright moments in Sunday’s Premier League loss at Fulham.

But, despite those struggles, Romano has given an update on how likely Tottenham are to take up that permanent option on the 19-year-old as the weeks count down until the summer window opens.

Romano told GiveMeSport that Spurs are actually pleased with the loanee, who has every chance of earning a stay – assuming he wants to – after his initial deal ends.

He said: “For Mathys Tel, they’re very happy with the boy, with the attitude, with the potential they see in this boy, and that’s why they were fighting for weeks to sign him in January.

“At the moment, their indication remains, as Postecoglou always says, that they trust him also for the future. Then let’s see what happens.”

That news is somewhat surprising, given the fact that Tel has yet to register a single goal or assist in the Premier League for the club and has often looked a little lost in the games he has played so far.

DON’T MISS ➡️ ‘Contact made’ as Levy personally identifies sensational Postecoglou replacement at Tottenham

Tel caught up in row with Tottenham fans

Meanwhile, Tel ended up at the centre of a row with Tottenham fans after the loss at Craven Cottage over the weekend.

The defeat at their London rivals was their 15th in the league this season and leaves Ange Postecoglou’s men currently sitting 14th in the table, with the pressure continuing to increase on the Australian.

Indeed, speaking after the contest, Postecoglou acknowledged his side’s struggles, telling the BBC: “It’s been a difficult campaign for sure. But I feel we’ve lost too many games that we should have got stuff out of, and this was one of those games.

“It’s another international break we go into off a loss and you feel that. We just need to make sure we’re ready for when we come back.”

Some fans are not buying Postecoglou’s rhetoric, however, and have clearly had a enough – with Tel filmed speaking to a section of the away support in what was a heated exchange after Sunday’s clash.

Shouts of “it’s not good enough” could be heard from several supporters in footage shared to social media.

Tel was then seen responding by telling them “we need to be together” as he tried to calm the situation down, acting way beyond his 19 years in the process.

Ange Postecoglou sack: 'Contact made' as Levy personally identifies sensational replacement at Tottenham

‘Contact made’ as Levy personally identifies sensational Postecoglou replacement at Tottenham - TEAMtalk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly lining up a stunning raid on a Premier League rival to secure the club their next manager, as pressure continues to mount on Ange Postecoglou in north London.

Spurs’ disastrous season domestically continued on Sunday as they crashed to a 2-0 defeat at London rivals Fulham, their 15th league loss which leaves them sitting 14th in the table with nine games to go.

Judging by his team selection prior to the game at Craven Cottage, Postecoglou appears to have placed all his eggs in the Europa League basket ahead of a two-legged quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Australian left out the likes of Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall and skipper Son Heung-min as Tottenham were comfortably beaten in the end, with former Spurs star Ryan Sessegnon grabbing the home’s second.

That defeat left more calls for Postecoglou’s head, while the Tottenham chief admitted that the amount of times his side has lost this season has been unacceptable.

The latest setback has once again sparked talk over who could take over, with TT previously confirming that the likes of Andoni Iraola, Thomas Frank and Edin Terzic are all firmly in the mix.

And, according to a fresh report from GiveMeSport, it’s Bournemouth chief Iraola who is Levy’s choice to replace Postecoglou, if he decides to pull the trigger.

The Cherries are enjoying a superb campaign under the Spaniard and went unbeaten against Tottenham twice this season, winning on the south coast and earning a recent draw in north London in a game where they largely outplayed the hosts.

DON’T MISS ➡️ FOUR players Tottenham need to sign to end renewed talk of Ange Postecoglou sack

Bournemouth plotting move to fend off Tottenham interest

The report adds that contact has already been made with Iraola, despite Bournemouth planning to hold discussions over an improved contract for the 42-year-old.

There have been suggestions that Iraola would be open to the possibility of heading to the capital, if the opportunity presents itself, with Tottenham’s hierarchy confident that his head will be turned enough to make the switch.

GMS adds that Cherries owner Bill Foley is poised to hold face-to-face talks with Iraola to understand his plans for the future, with a lucrative new contract on the table to fend off Spurs’ interest.

Iraola was appointed as Bournemouth head coach in June 2023 and is reported to have a release clause of £5million written into his contract, which would present no issues to Tottenham.

As for Postecoglou, he will continue to play on his own words that ‘he always wins a trophy in his second season’, as success in the Europa League would mean direction qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Ange Postecoglou sack: Tottenham boss 'clinging onto his job' as pundit predicts 'see you later' moment

Submitted by daniel on
Picture

Description

Whether or not Ange Postecoglou is getting the best out of Tottenham Hotspur’s players can be seriously questioned, according to an outspoken pundit who believes the axe is bound to fall on the Australian tactician on one condition.

Spurs lost 2-0 to Fulham on Sunday afternoon, which leaves them 14th in the Premier League table. There is no realistic danger of relegation, but Postecoglou’s side have been stuck in the bottom half of the table since October and there doesn’t look to be any way out.

Postecoglou has been under pressure for a while, but has constantly defended himself by citing the number of injuries he has had to deal with.

Still, the scrutiny is on and Postecoglou is clinging onto the hope of winning the Europa League to stay in his job.

After the Fulham defeat, former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara reiterated it will be over for Postecoglou as soon as they’re knocked out in Europe.

“A really poor performance again from Spurs,” O’Hara said on Sky Sports. “They’ve been inconsistent all season. Lacklustre in possession, no real edge to our game, no bite.

“Fulham are a good side, and they’re well organised, but you’ve got to take the game to them. I understand we’ve got the Europa League, and we have put all of our eggs in that basket, but the Premier League is bread and butter.

“The standard of the performances in the Premier League this season is nowhere near good enough, and I think Ange is clinging onto his job right now. We’ve got to play Frankfurt in the quarter-finals [of the Europa League] – they’re a good team, they’re fourth [in the Bundesliga] at the moment.

“That is a tough game. I think if we go out then, it’s probably ‘see you later’ to Ange Postecoglou at Spurs. I don’t see a way back. Is he getting the best out of these players now? We’re getting players back fit.

“The second goal we conceded today – I’m a massive fan of Djed Spence, I really like him, he’s done really well since he’s come in – but the defending for the goal is absolutely shocking.”

Spurs begin Postecoglou replacement search

Even ahead of Spurs’ defeat to Fulham, and their recovery against AZ in the Europa League before that, sources revealed to TEAMtalk that the search is already underway for Postecoglou’s replacement.

Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola is admired in north London, as is former Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic.

A surprise candidate could be Russell Martin, who was sacked by Southampton earlier this season.

But Postecoglou’s future hinges on how far he can take Spurs in the Europa League. If he can win the whole thing, it would significantly boost his chances of staying next season, since Spurs have been without a trophy since 2008.

Ange Postecoglou sack: Big Tottenham axe claim made as boss admits he's 'lost too many'

Description

Further pressure has been heaped on Ange Postecolgou after Tottenham were beaten 2-0 by Europe chasing Fulham on Sunday, leaving Spurs 13th in the Premier League table.

The London side have failed to win in their last three league matches. Calls for Postecoglou to be sacked have been rife for months, but now they could ramp up once again.

Former Tottenham man Ryan Sessegnon ironically sealed the win for Fulham with a goal in the 88th minute, eight months on from leaving Spurs as a free agent.

Perhaps the only thing saving Postecoglou at the moment is the fact that Tottenham remain in the Europa League, after coming from behind to beat AZ Alkmaar 3-2 across two legs.

That is a view held by one Spurs supporter, who told BBC Sport that Postecoglou could have no complaints if chairman Daniel Levy was to axe him.

“How long are we going to chase that particular ghost?” said Jon.

“I fully expect Ange to be sacked when we inevitably limp out of Europe and when we do, can anyone argue that he won’t fully deserve it?”

And on X, some Spurs fans have been venting their frustrations at just how bad things have got under Postecoglou.

“Let’s just all be honest now. Ange Postecoglou is the worst manager this football club has ever had. By a million miles,” posted Sussex Tottenham.

Similarly, one by the name of Matt said: “Ange Postecoglou is the worst spurs manager in my lifetime. End of conversation.”

Ange Postecoglou: ‘It’s been a difficult campaign’

Speaking to BBC Match of the Day following Tottenham’s defeat, Postecoglou described the game as ‘tight’ and said Spurs were the ‘better team’ in the second half, before they ultimately conceded two goals.

“It was a tight game, it always is when you play here [at Craven Cottage],” Postecoglou said.

“I thought for the most part we were pretty comfortable. We had a big chance to go ahead and then we conceded a really soft goal and the game got away from us.

“Both goals were pretty soft. At the very least you want to stay in the game. I thought in the second half we were the better team and had the best chances up to that point. So to concede is very disappointing.

“It’s been a difficult campaign for sure. But I feel we’ve lost too many games that we should have got stuff out of, and this was one of those games.

“It’s another international break we go into off a loss and you feel that. We just need to make sure we’re ready for when we come back.”

Tottenham have begun looking at potential new managers – sources

Tottenham will play Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-finals after the international break, with the first leg to take place on April 10th. The result of that match could have big ramifications for Postecoglou.

TEAMtalk insider Fraser Fletcher reported that the Spurs hierarchy are yet to make a final decision on whether Postecoglou will continue as manager next season, but winning the Europa League would put him in a much stronger position.

We understand that Tottenham have already begun looking at managerial targets as part of normal succession planning.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is one name on their shortlist, along with former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic, who is a free agent.

Perhaps most interesting though is that recently sacked Southampton manager Russell Martin is also being ‘evaluated’ by Spurs, per sources.

Martin would be open to taking on a new challenge in the Premier League and could yet prove a surprising name to watch in the summer.

He helped Southampton seal promotion from the Championship via the play-offs last term but was ultimately relieved of his duties in December, following a 5-0 loss to Tottenham.

Ultimately, though, his appointment may be seen as somewhat risky given Saints picked up just five points from 16 Premier League games under Martin. His possession-based style wasn’t the right fit for Southampton in the top flight but Tottenham do remain admirers of the 39-year-old.

Tottenham transfers: Spurs learn asking price for dynamic talent capable of playing three different roles

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly learned what it will take to prise Jobe Bellingham away from Championship promotion hopefuls Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old younger brother of Real Madrid and England superstar Jude Bellingham is making a big name for himself with a Blacks Cats side who currently sit fourth in the table under Regis Le Bris and are firmly in the mix for a Premier League return.

Bellingham has scored four goals and added three assists in 34 Championship appearances for Sunderland this season, with all his appearances coming in the starting XI and also in a multitude of different positions.

Indeed, the teenager can operate in three different central midfield roles, from acting as the defensive pivot to also featuring as a No.10.

His impressive form has seen the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea, amongst others, register an interest in a player who still has three years remaining on his contract on Wearside.

And now Football Insider has revealed that Sunderland will be looking to recoup a fee of at least £20million, if they do decide to cash in on one of their top talents.

That plan could change though, if the Blacks Cats actually secure promotion for a player who is also on the radar of Borussia Dortmund – given the links his brother Jude had with the Bundesliga giants.

The report adds, however, that the England Under-21 international has not yet made a final decision on whether he will leave the club if they stay in the Championship.

Bellingham moved to Sunderland from Birmingham for just £1.5m in the summer of 2023, and the teenager now boasts a total of 11 goals and four assists in 81 games for the Black Cats in all competitions.

Tottenham midfield set for revamp

Spurs are set for a busy summer and are expected to make a number of alterations to their squad after a season of struggle domestically.

Despite their midfield being the least hit area by injuries this term, it’s expected to be a part of the pitch where Ange Postecoglou brings one or two players to freshen things up – assuming he keeps his job.

Yves Bissouma will almost certainly be moved on after continuing his hugely underwhelming form in a Tottenham shirt, having previously looked so good at Brighton.

Recent rumours also suggested Rodrigo Bentancur could be considering his future, despite the club being keen on handing the Uruguay international a fresh contract.

The future already looks bright in the Spurs engine room though, with Archie Gray given a rare start in his natural position at Fulham on Sunday, while young Swede Lucas Bergvall continues to go from strength to strength.

But Bellingham’s ability to play multiple roles would make him a valuable squad player for a youthful Tottenham side who can only improve after their struggles this season.
