Postecoglou signing makes Tottenham transfer call amid interest in return to previous home

Ange Postecoglou Tottenham signing Radu Dragusin has reportedly decided that he won’t leave the club in January despite interest in him from the Serie A amid a lack of game time.

The centre-back has struggled to find consistent minutes since his move to Spurs last January. He played just nine Premier League games last term, starting on four occasions.

So far this season, he’s played four times in all competitions, and his Europa League appearance was cut wildly short when he was sent off seven minutes into the game against Qarabag.

There has been interest from sides in his previous home of Italy in him returning there, with Napoli – coached by former Spur boss Antonio Conte – one of the clubs said to be keen on him.

But according to the Daily Mirror, Dragusin will not push to leave the club.

Indeed, he remains committed to Tottenham and will not seek a mid-season exit even if he remains out of the side.

There is said to be confidence that Dragusin will receive his fair share of minutes in the defence in the coming weeks and months.

Napoli told to forget Dragusin

One of the potential routes back to Italy for Dragusin may have been wiped out anyway.

Indeed, Napoli have been advised by Italian journalist Enrico Fedele not to go after the Romanian as he is “too young”.

They have instead been told to move for Sergio Ramos.

Dragusin was clearly a vital asset at Genoa prior to his move to Spurs, and he is still only 22, so still has a lot of time to break into the best side at the club and perform consistently.

Tottenham round-up: Exits likely

Though Dragusin doesn’t seem as though he’ll be going anywhere, that will not be the case for some Spurs players.

Jose Mourinho is said to be eager to take Sergio Reguilon to Fenerbahce in the winter.

Meanwhile, Richarlison could finally be cut loose after a few underwhelming seasons in a Tottenham shirt. Report state the club will not rush him back from injury, partially because they want to keep him fit so that he might be sold in the summer.

Spurs know exactly what they need to do to secure an inbound transfer, though. Forward target Antoine Semenyo has reportedly been valued at £40-50million by Bournemouth.

Though Tottenham do have competition for his signature from some more of the Premier League’s biggest sides.

Dragusin minutes diminishing

Per year, Dragusin’s minutes in league football have diminished. He was clearly a vital asset at Genoa, and played 19 games for them in the first half of last season – after playing every game the prior campaign – before Tottenham offered him nine games after he moved there.

This term, he remains behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the pecking order, with the pair clearly the best options at the moment, but Dragusin could change that with a few good performances when he’s given the chance.

Tottenham tempted to cash in on £60m-rated star Real Madrid are targeting

Tottenham would consider selling Real Madrid target Pedro Porro if bids of roughly £60m are tabled, and whether a move is made will hinge on what happens up at Liverpool, according to reports.

Real Madrid intend to sign a right-back and centre-back in 2025. Per The Athletic, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is their primary target to fill the right-back role and the LaLiga giants are hopeful of signing the 26-year-old as a free agent. Alexander-Arnold’s contract is due to expire next summer, though Liverpool are hopeful of ironing out a long-term extension.

In the event Liverpool manage to keep Alexander-Arnold in situ, Real Madrid will simply turn to an alternative. Per the latest from Give Me Sport, Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen) is on their radar, as is Tottenham ace Pedro Porro.

And in alarming news for Spurs fans, GMS state Tottenham would surprisingly be open to selling the right-back if Real Madrid serve up a bid in the £60m range.

It’s clarified Spurs will by no means force Porro out. However, given he was signed for £39m, a sale at £60m could be regarded as a ‘smart move’ within the club.

Of course, any such move for Porro would only come if Real Madrid fail to lure Alexander-Arnold to The Bernabeu.

As such, all eyes in north London will be on how Liverpool’s contract negotiations with Alexander-Arnold fare.

Pedro Porro flirts with Real Madrid

A prior report from Caught Offside delivered a similar story when claiming a bid of roughly £55m could be enough to bring Tottenham to the negotiating table.

What’s more, Porro is well aware of Real Madrid’s interest and has done little to dissuade Carlo Ancelotti’s side from acting.

“Of course I’m proud with these links [to Real Madrid], it means I’m doing things well,” said Porro. “If that happens one day, it happens. Now I’m fully focused on my club, Tottenham.”

Real Madrid’s pursuit of a new right-back has intensified on the back of losing Dani Carvajal to an ACL injury.

The club responded by extending the long-serving star’s contract until 2026. But given he’s aged 32, will be coming off the back of a serious knee injury and Real Madrid are targeting a high profile signing in his position, there’s no guarantee Carvajal will be the starter once returning to fitness at the back end of 2024.

Latest Tottenham news

In other news, Tottenham have been told it’ll take between £40m-£50m before Bournemouth will consider selling livewire winger Antoine Semenyo.

Elsewhere, 90min state Jose Mourinho is ready to rescue Sergio Reguilon from his ongoing Tottenham nightmare.

Finally, Dejan Kulusevski has received high praise for his part in Tottenham’s 4-1 demolition of West Ham on Saturday.

“They came out all guns blazing [in the second half],” Glenn Hoddle said of his former side Spurs. “West Ham couldn’t control Kulusevski in that further role.

“It was a big call to take off [James] Maddison at half time but it really worked, it freed up Kulusevski who was the best player on the pitch by a mile.”

Antoine Semenyo asking price revealed as Arsenal, battle Tottenham, Newcastle for electric attacker

Bournemouth have reportedly named their price for exciting attacker Antoine Semenyo, as the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle all line up to sign the player.

The south coast club could be powerless in the efforts to keep the talented 24-year-old as bigger clubs circle, although they are determined to recoup the best possible price for services.

Semenyo has been in impressive form for the Cherries so far this season, having scored eight goals and provided two assists during the 2023/24 campaign.

Indeed, in eight outings for Bournemouth this term he has notched three goals and added an assist for a Bournemouth side who jumped to 10th in the table after beating 10-man Arsenal at Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Semenyo has handled the step up to the Premier League brilliantly since signing from Championship outfit Bristol City for £10million in January 2023.

And now Football Insider reports that Bournemouth are ready to demand £40-50million (up to €60m, $65m) in the wake of interest from the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle.

The chances of a January move appear highly unlikely though as Bournemouth look to preserve their Premier League status, meaning a deal next summer is more achievable.

Semenyo is not the only Cherries star on the radar of top clubs though, with Milos Kerkez also being linked with a move away from the club.

Where does Semenyo fit at Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle?

With Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle all operating 4-3-3 systems under Mikel Arteta, Ange Postecoglou and Eddie Howe respectively, having numerous quality wide options is pivotal to that formation being effective.

The Gunners have Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli as first choice, with Leandro Trossard and the on-loan Raheem Sterling as other options for Arteta – although both Sterling and Trossard started that loss at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have skipper Son Heung-min and the free-scoring Brennan Johnson on either flank but can also fill in with Timo Werner, Wilson Odobert – when fit – and young starlet Mikey Moore. Dejan Kulusevski is also in that mix despite being converted to midfield this season.

In terms of Howe’s options at Newcastle, Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy have been the regular starters this term, backed up by the likes of Harvey Barnes and Miguel Almiron. TT have previously revealed their interest in Semenyo though.

Semenyo tends to operate mainly from the right wing but can also play on the left and through the middle a central striker at a push.

Quite whether the three clubs mentioned are willing to pay up to £50m for his services remains to be seen, although that appears to now be the going rate for an international player in his early 20s who is a regular in the Premier League.

IN FOCUS – Semenyo career stats v Saka, Johnson, Murphy

We’ve totaled up the numbers from Semenyo’s career so far (inc. international games) and compared him with the regular right-wing starters at Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle.

A brief glance at the figures suggests Newcastle would benefit most from getting Semenyo on board, with Saka a shoo-in starter on the right for Arsenal and Johnson, who has been sensational for Tottenham in recent weeks, firmly established in Ange Posteecoglou’s side.

Murphy has been in and out of the Magpies side since signing back in 2017 but has been more of a regular starter since Eddie Howe was appointed boss in 2021.

Tottenham transfers: Mourinho ready to rescue Spurs misfit as January transfer window raid being prepped

Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on rescuing an out-of-favour Tottenham star by bringing him to Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the January transfer window.

Left-back Sergio Reguilon is the player in question, with a fresh report suggesting that the former Spurs boss is ready to end his old player’s frustrations in north London by bringing him to Turkey in the new year.

After a bright start to life at Tottenham, Reguilon‘s career has taken a real downturn. Indeed, the Spain international has not featured for the first team since April 2022.

The 27-year-old has been shipped out on loan to Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford during that time, with none of that trio opting to try and make the move a permanent one.

The arrival of Ange Postecoglou in the summer of 2023 has done little for Reguilon’s hopes of regular first-team football at Tottenham, with Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies ahead of him in the pecking order. Indeed, right-sided duo Archie Gray and Djed Spence have also featured at left-back in games this season ahead of the former Real Madrid man.

However, according to 90min, Mourinho wants to revitalise Reguilon’s career and is keen on bolstering his defence in Istanbul with the Spaniard.

Mourinho’s interest in the Spaniard suggests he still values Reguilon’s potential to perform at a high level, as he did early in his Spurs career before his form completely fell away.

Reguilon is also likely to be available for a cut-price fee in January, as he will out of contract in the summer and running down the final six months of his contract.

Postecoglou clear on Reguilon future

Reguilon surprisingly found himself on the plane trip to Hungary for Tottenham’s recent Europa League trip Ferencvaros, but Postecogliu was quick to clear up exactly why the defender was involved in the squad for that game – especially when he is not registered to play.

Speaking ahead of that game, the Australian said: “He’s a Spurs player, mate. I mean, we’ve got a training session so it’s a balance that we need 20 players for training, that’s what we do for match day minus one. It didn’t make sense to bring someone like Radu [Dragusin, suspended] or a couple of guys who have got injuries because we won’t get back until late on Thursday.

“We’ve brought a couple of young guys in. The academy played last night and we didn’t want to disrupt that, but we brought a couple of young guys and Reguilon to make sure our training is really good today. Squad-wise, from the weekend Destiny hasn’t travelled.

“It’s nothing significant, his injury but again it didn’t make sense to bring him over if he wasn’t going to play. Radu is suspended and Sonny is back in London doing rehab, but the rest of the squad plus the young players have travelled.”

Even from those comments, it’s very clear that Reguilon has no future in north London while Postecoglou remains in charge and there is every likelihood that he is loaned out in January and then allowed to leave on a free over the summer.

Latest Tottenham news: Spurs tipped for Ramsey swoop / Atalanta full-back eyed

A former Tottenham scout expects the club to move for a ‘top-level’ midfield signing in 2025 as talk of a potential swoop for Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey continues to escalate.

Bryan King, who worked for the club between 2002 and 2008, still believes his old club will sign another midfielder though and clearly rates Ramsey very highly.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are reportedly ready to turn to Serie A again in their search for defensive reinforcements, with an Atalanta right-back on their radar amid growing concerns of Pedro Porro’s future.

IN FOCUS – Reguilon the underachiever

Reguilon arrived at Tottenham in the summer of 2020 from Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants even including £27.5m buy-back clause for fear of selling a player who was rated very highly in his homeland.

He certainly lived up to that billing early in his Spurs career, with Mourinho at the helm, and there’s no doubt the Portuguese still feels he can get the best out of a player who is still only 27 years of age.

If he did move to Fenerbahce, Reguilon will join former Premier League stars Edin Dzeko, Fred, Dusan Tadic, Sofyan Amrabat, Allan Saint-Maximin and Caglar Soyuncu at the Turkish giants.

‘Outstanding’ Tottenham ace West Ham ‘couldn’t control’ lauded by Glenn Hoddle, Peter Crouch

Description

Glenn Hoddle and Peter Crouch have heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusevski after he was ‘the best player on the pitch’ against West Ham United.

It was a derby day to remember for Tottenham fans as Ange Postecoglou’s side beat West Ham 4-1 at home to pile more misery on Irons boss Julen Lopetegui. Mohammed Kudus gave West Ham the lead in the 18th minute, but Kulusevski equalised for Tottenham before the break.

The Sweden international cut inside on his left foot before beating West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola with an accurate low drive that went in off both posts.

Postecoglou was clearly frustrated with the first half performance as he changed system and surprisingly hauled off James Maddison, bringing on Pape Sarr.

The substitution worked as Spurs put in a brilliant second half display, with Kulusevski the main man in the No 10 role.

Spurs went in front in the 52nd minute as Destiny Udogie set up Yves Bissouma for a simple finish, and three minutes later Kulusevski linked up with Son Heung-min to cause West Ham yet more problems. Son’s effort ultimately went in via a combination of both Areola and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Son rounded off the victory on the hour mark by bamboozling Todibo with three stepovers before finishing on his left foot. Son hit the post soon after the restart before Kudus was sent off for West Ham after clashing with all of Micky van de Ven, Richarlison and Sarr.

On TNT Sports’ coverage of the game, former Spurs star and manager Hoddle labelled Kulusevski ‘outstanding’.

‘Ange would have loved that performance’

“What I liked about them [Spurs] in the second half is when they got their noses ahead they went and they went again,” he said. “They looked solid defensively, they didn’t look vulnerable until they actually went 4-1 [up] and took their foot off the gas.

“Ange would have loved that performance, that’s how he wants them to play. They had the flow of the full-backs, Udogie picked up lovely positions, Son came to life, Kulusevski was outstanding today. A 4-1 win in a London derby, a great day all round.”

When asked if it was a typical display from a Postecoglou team, ex-Spurs striker Crouch added: “Yeah it was. They shored it up second half defensively, they were giving up too many chances in the first half.

“They came out all guns blazing [in the second half], West Ham couldn’t control Kulusevski in that further role. It was a big call to take off Maddison at half time but it really worked, it freed up Kulusevski who was the best player on the pitch by a mile.”

Tottenham news: Villa raid, Richarlison update

Meanwhile, former Spurs scout Bryan King has discussed the club signing a quality new creative midfielder.

When asked about Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey, King said: “We’re talking about a top-level player here. Who else are Spurs looking at? Who else could be available? It needs to be this standard of player, this quality of player.

“They can’t be messing around in the Championship. If they want to be big then they have got to look big.

“This is a talented player who can continue to develop under Postecoglou. Arsenal and Newcastle are mentioned, if Ramsey is to be sold, his agent will want a bidding war.”

While Ramsey could arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the future, Richarlison’s Spurs future is uncertain.

The striker returned from injury to feature against West Ham, but Postecoglou looks set to continue starting Dominic Solanke up front.

Tottenham plan to protect forward before eventually cutting him loose in brutal process

Tottenham will reportedly slowly reintegrate Richarlison into the side after his spell on the sidelines through injury, but only because they want him to be fit so he can be sold soon.

Richarlison has played just 25 minutes for Spurs this season, and has not played since Tottenham’s second game of the Premier League season, in August. He picked up an injury which has kept him out of all football.

Ange Postecoglou has stated the forward has done “good work” in getting back fit, and has trained with his Tottenham team-mates, with the manager hoping he’ll be available for this weekend.

But according to GIVEMESPORT, he will not be rushed back, and that is partially because Spurs want to ensure he’s fit so he may be sold in the summer.

Indeed, the report states he will be ‘carefully’ reintegrated, ‘in part to protect his value with a prospective sale in mind for next summer’.

That will potentially cut his playing time before he’s pushed out.

It’s said that the club are intent on helping Richarlison maintain his fitness, which will help the team, but also due to the fact they are weighing up his future.

DON’T MISS: The key contract details of every Tottenham first-team player: Expiry dates, weekly wages, agents…

Richarlison has recently had suitors

If he is to be pushed out, it is likely that the Brazilian will have suitors.

In September, it was stated Vasco da Gama were interested in taking him on board.

That followed interest from the Saudi Pro League in the summer window.

While Richarlison suggested he did not want to move there as his “dreams are bigger” than the money potentially paid to him, he may have little choice, and if he plays a small amount upon return from injury, there might not be lots of options for the striker.

Tottenham round-up: Important players on radar

Spurs have some players on their radar who could make for important players at the club.

Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey has been frequently linked with the north London outfit, and former Tottenham scout Bryan King feels he could continue his development well under Postecoglou.

Also on the radar is Atalanta right-back Raoul Bellanova, who has been watched by Fabio Paratici.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are looking into the signing of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, though Liverpool could already have them beat in that race, with the suggestion he dreams of a move to a club like them.

Richarlison’s Tottenham career

In 68 games at Tottenham, Richarlison has scored just 15 goals and assisted another eight.

It will be unsurprising if, in the event he has another poor season this campaign, he is shipped elsewhere.

Former Tottenham scout tips up ‘top-level’ midfield signing as links to Premier League star grow

Description

A former Tottenham scout expects the club to move for a ‘top-level’ midfield signing in 2025 as talk of a move for Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey continues to escalate.

The north London club were heavily linked with a move for the Villa star over the summer as Ange Postecoglou looked to make major changes to his engine room.

Oliver Skipp and Giovani Lo Celso were both sold, while Tanguy Ndombele was released from his contract and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg loaned out to Marseille with an option to buy.

In terms of incomings, Lucas Bergvall finally arrived after initially agreeing his move to Tottenham back in January, while the highly-rated Archie Gray was signed from Leeds United in a £30million deal.

However, it was common knowledge that Postecoglou wanted another midfield body added to his squad, with Spurs failing in their efforts to re-unite Lo Celso with Villa boss Unai Emery in a deal that would have involved Ramsey moving in the opposite direction.

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King, who worked for the club between 2002 and 2008, still believes his old club will sign another midfielder though and clearly rates Ramsey very highly.

In an interview with Tottenham News, King said: “We’re talking about a top-level player here. Who else are Spurs looking at? Who else could be available? It needs to be this standard of player, this quality of player. They can’t be messing around in the Championship. If they want to be big then they have got to look big.

“This is a talented player who can continue to develop under Postecoglou. Arsenal and Newcastle are mentioned, if Ramsey is to be sold, his agent will want a bidding war.”

Villa fighting to keep Ramsey

Villa continue to value Ramsey at between £40-50m, which could still be a sticking point for Tottenham as they look to make more additions to Postecoglou’s squad in the January window.

Ramsey has been a regular contributor for Villa again this season though, showing he is a key component of Emery’s team. Indeed, he has started both Champions League outings so far and made 10 appearances in total, scoring one goal and adding an assist.

Postecoglou views the 23-year-old as a player who could fit in perfectly as a No.8 box-to-box midfielder capable of scoring goals and, at that age, he ticks all the boxes in terms of how Tottenham are trying to give the Australian a younger, hungrier squad of players capable of playing the game with more energy and intelligence.

There is the added complication of Arsenal also reportedly being in the mix for the player, though, although a striker is more of a priority signing for them either in January or next summer. Newcastle have also been mentioned as potential suitors for the player.

Latest Tottenham transfer news: Porro replacement scouted / Dortmund winger raid

Tottenham are reportedly ready to turn to Serie A again in their search for defensive reinforcements, with an Atalanta right-back on their radar amid growing concerns of Pedro Porro’s future.

There have been reports of a €65m (£54.4m / $71.1m) bid being negotiated between Real and Spurs for Porro and that has led to the north London outfit scouring potential replacements – one of which is Atalanta’s Raoul Bellanova.

Meanwhile, Tottenham and Liverpool have reportedly been told the asking price for top Bundesliga talent Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who is currently making a huge name for himself at Borussia Dortmund.

The England Under-21 international is being chased by multiple clubs after scoring four goals and adding two assists in all competitions for Dortmund this season.

And while Dortmund are not willing to sanction the sale of Bynoe-Gittens in the January transfer window, any clubs prepared to wait until the summer of 2025 have learned how much the exciting attacker will cost.

IN FOCUS – Ramsey showing importance to Villa

Ramsey has 27 goals involvements in 131 games for Villa since making his debut for the club back in 2019, having initially burst onto the scene with his goalscoring heroics in the FA Youth Cup during the 2018-19 campaign.

While not yet the finished article, Emery is clearly a big fan of the player while Tottenham’s continued interest and that price tag of approaching £50m suggests the Villa man is a midfielder ready to take his game to the next level.

Whether that remains at Villa Park or elsewhere remains to be seen.

Tottenham transfers: Spurs planning for Pedro Porro insurance policy as Paratici spies another Serie A diamond

Tottenham are reportedly ready to turn to Serie A again in their search for defensive reinforcements, with an Atalanta right-back on their radar amid growing concerns of Pedro Porro’s future.

The Spaniard is attracting plenty of interest from Real Madrid again after Dani Carvajal suffered a season-ending ACL injury, along with Liverpool and England star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

There have been reports of a €65m (£54.4m / $71.1m) bid being negotiated between Real and Tottenham for Porro, with the player himself recently opening up on the transfer speculation.

“Of course I’m proud with these links, it means I’m doing things well,” said Porro. “If that happens one day, it happens. Now I’m fully focused on my club Tottenham”.

It appears, though, that Spurs could be planning for the worst-case scenario for a player who is now one of the first names on Ange Postecoglou’s team sheet – such has been his improvement over the last 12 months.

And, according to Inter Live, the north London outfit have placed Atalanta’s Raoul Bellanova on their shortlist, with the Italy international having been watched by Tottenham’s former sporting director Fabio Paratici – who still plays a major advisory role over top talent in his homeland.

Bellanova played in the Champions League final against Manchester City in 2023 while on loan at Inter and has been an ever-present at Atalanta so far this season.

Indeed, the 24-year-old has emerged as a key player for Gian Piero Gasperini, notching a goal and an assist in nine appearances featuring at right wing-back – with two of those outings in the Champions League.

All hands on Tottenham deck to keep Porro on board

Tottenham are currently in the process of rebuilding their first-team squad under Postecoglou, who only wants players on board capable of playing his high-octane brand of football.

The likes of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert and Dominic Solanke all arrived over the summer and Spurs are expected to be active again when the winter window rolls around.

Another central defender, a full-back and a central midfielder are the main areas being looked at and Italy has become a common hunting ground for the club in recent years.

That being said, Daniel Levy is sure to do all he can to keep hold of Porro for the time being. The 25-year-old has gone from a bit of a laughing stock when he first arrived at the club on loan to becoming one of the Premier League’s best right-backs.

Some credit for that must go to Postecoglou in terms of Porro being utilised so well further forward and becoming an extra attacker from his defensive role.

And while his defending remains a work in progress, the mere fact that Real are even looking at the former Sporting star tells the story of how much his game has improved.

The price tag mentioned above of around £54m would likely be the bare minimum if Tottenham did decide to cash in, although Postecoglou would surely fight that decision.

Latest Tottenham transfer news: Dortmund winger on Ange’s radar / Eze move latest

Spurs and Liverpool have reportedly been told the asking price for top Bundesliga talent Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who is currently making a huge name for himself at Borussia Dortmund.

The England Under-21 international is currently being chased by multiple clubs after scoring four goals and adding two assists in all competitions for Dortmund this season. But it’s in the Champions League where is currently making the biggest impressions, notching two times in as many outings for the German side.

And while Dortmund are not willing to sanction the sale of Bynoe-Gittens in the January transfer window, any clubs prepared to wait until the summer of 2025 have learned how much the exciting attacker will cost.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are interested in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze but will face competition from Tottenham and other sides for his signature, per reports.

As confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Eze’s release clause of around £60m will re-activate in 2025 and Man Utd are in the mix to sign him. Romano has also revealed that Man Utd are ‘keeping a close eye’ on Eze ahead of the January transfer window, while he has ‘always been appreciated by Tottenham.’

IN FOCUS – Bellanova a player on the rise

Having started his career with Bordeaux in France, it’s only since he returned to his homeland that Bellanova’s career has really taken off.

In terms of his playing style, multiple scouting reports describe Bellanova as a physically strong and fast attack-minded right-back who also has good defensive positioning and reads the game well.

He has also been known to fill in at centre-back in the past, news that will be music to Postecoglou’s ears given how flexible he loves his players to be.

Liverpool and Tottenham have reportedly been told the asking price for top Bundesliga talent Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who is currently making a huge name for himself at Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool and Tottenham are certainly two clubs who will be taking note, with Football Insider reporting that the former Manchester City academy product could be available for a fee of around £40-50million next summer.

The 20-year-old certainly has all the qualities to be a big hit in the Premier League, possessing tremendous pace and skill and is predominantly used as a left winger at Dortmund where he tends to cut inside onto his stronger right foot.

Premier League scouts were known to be in attendance for that game, such is the buzz surrounding the Englishman this early in his burgeoning career.

Liverpool and Spurs are unlikely to have it all their own way on their chase for the player though, with Chelsea also keeping tabs on Bynoe-Gittens in what could turn into a real scramble for his signature next summer.

Liverpool, Spurs hunting new winger signing

In terms of where Bynoe-Gittens would fit in at Anfield or the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it’s no real surprise to see both clubs linked with a new wide man. Indeed, TT anticipated 12 months ago that big clubs would be scouting the player as his career progressed.

Liverpool are currently sweating over Mo Salah’s future, with the Reds legend out of contract next summer and available to speak to foreign clubs over a free transfer switch in 2025 from January.

Indeed, it’s looking increasingly likely that the 32-year-old will end his spectacular stay on Merseyside as Saudi Pro League clubs circle for his signature.

As for Tottenham, they are starting to plan for life without skipper Son Heung-min, who has looked a shadow of the player who has enjoyed so much personal success in north London.

The South Korean has been sidelined for the last few Spurs outings through injury but could return for Saturday’s visit of West Ham in the Premier League. However, he has looked laboured at times this season and appears to have lost a yard of pace and his ability to beat a man from his favoured left-wing berth.

And although it might be too soon to write of Son just yet, the fact that Tottenham signed Wilson Odobert from Burnley late in the summer transfer window suggests they are already looking at how they can build for the future in the wide areas.

Flourishing Tottenham star cites Cristiano Ronaldo advice for aiding incredible transformation

Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski has referenced prior advice from former Juventus teammate Cristiano Ronaldo when offering insight into his step up in levels this season.

Kulusevski was originally signed by Tottenham to play on the right wing, though he’s since proven a revelation upon being converted into a central playmaker this season. The Swede has continued his excellent form through the international break while captaining his country in the recent clashes with Slovakia and Estonia.

When asked by the Swedish media what’s changed for him on the mental side of things this term, Kulusevski cited an old piece of advice from ex-Juventus teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.

“To not be satisfied with being good, but to be the best every day,” said Kulusevski, per Fotboll Skanalen. “That’s the only thing that matters. As hard as it is to try to be the best.

“I think that you learn over time, that you begin to understand much more about how the world and the brain work. You can’t be 17 and know everything.

“Yes, I always change. I’m starting to get to know my body. When I was younger, I didn’t understand when [Cristiano] Ronaldo told me: ‘You will get to know your body’. Because I didn’t know my body then.

“But now I’m starting to understand my strengths and weaknesses, how I can improve. So I feel like everything is getting easier.

“I know how to train the day before a match, two days before a match, what to do when I’m tired and so on. All the little details that in the end make a big difference.”

Kulusevski revelling in being the main protagonist

Kulusevski earned rave reviews for his display in the 3-0 thumping of Manchester United on September 29.

While deployed in his new playmaking role on the right side of a midfield three, Kulusevski scored and created nine chances (three of which were classified as ‘big chances’), according to FotMob.

“It [being a protagonist] came out in that match,” continued Kulusevski. “But I have worked incredibly hard to be able to play at that level. I’m not shocked. I’ve just been waiting for it. Every match has felt good, but that one was perhaps extra good.

“I want to try to maximise this career as much as possible and never be one of the crowd. It has been the whole season. I really feel that I am stronger mentally and physically this season.

“I have changed the ‘mindset’ a bit. I think that is to my advantage. I have grown off the pitch as well. The plan is to get better every day, and I feel that I am becoming that.”

Latest Tottenham transfer news

In other news, Tottenham now face stern competition from Man Utd for the signature of Crystal Palace talisman, Eberechi Eze.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are keeping a close eye on the Spurs target.

Elsewhere, Spurs and bitter rivals Arsenal are both converging on Shakhtar Donetsk star, Georgiy Sudakov.

Finally, Tottenham are one of three heavyweight English sides taking a close look at Borussia Dortmund winger, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The others are Liverpool and Chelsea.

Kulusevski outgunning Phil Foden and Cole Palmer

Kulusevski has played in a more central role for Tottenham this season, making six Premier League appearances in midfield and one appearance as a striker.

He registered one goal and one assist in those seven appearances, averaging a direct goal contribution every 264 minutes.

While the Sweden international only has one assist to his name, he is currently creating 3.6 chances per 90 minutes and that is more than the likes of Cole Palmer and Phil Foden.

Filtering out any players that have played fewer than 180 minutes this season, Kulusevski is currently fourth in the Premier League in 2024/25 for chances created per 90 minutes.

His creativity levels have also increased from last season, when he predominantly played on the wing and averaged 2.1 key passes per 90 league minutes.

The 24-year-old is also averaging 1.2 successful dribbles per 90 minutes, 2.0 shots per 90 minutes and 30.3 passes per 90 minutes in 2024/25.

Another consequence of moving Kulusevski infield is allowing Brennan Johnson to start regularly on the right wing. Johnson has surpassed all expectations this term, scoring in each of his last six matches for Spurs.
