Tottenham Offered Chance to Sign 'One of the Best Young Strikers in Europe'

Tottenham Hotspur may have been handed a huge boost in their bid to sign a striker for their injured ranks - with Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel being offered out to clubs across Europe after falling out of favour in Bavaria this season, according to TBR Football.

Tel, who signed for Bayern from French side Rennes as a 17-year-old, Tel burst onto the scene in Germany in the 2022/23 campaign under Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann, scoring six goals in 28 games for the club - and he bettered that with 41 appearances last season, nabbing double figures in all competitions. But a lack of game time this season has seen him linked with other clubs and that could push him to the exit door, with Spurs lurking.

The forward is gunning for a move in the final few days of the January window

The report by TBR Football states that Tottenham have been contacted by intermediaries of Tel, with the striker deciding to leave Bayern.

The youngster has grown tired at a lack of opportunities under Vincent Kompany in the Bundesliga, and with the Frenchman wanting game time, TBR's sources that are 'close to the situation' have provided them with an update on Tel's future.

They state that Tottenham have been contacted by the player's representatives in view to a potential move, with Tel looking for a solution for more game time. He's fallen out with former Burnley boss Kompany, with the Belgian telling Tel that he doesn't feature in his plans at the Allianz Arena in a fresh round of talks.

Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign him, but other clubs - such as Manchester United and local rivals Arsenal, alongside Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan - are all in the race too. His agents are looking to push the prodigy to the Premier League, given that he's started just two games in the league this season alongside no further starts in the cup competitions.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Mathys Tel has 16 goals in 82 games for Bayern.

Game time is paramount for the youngster, considering he simply isn't getting that at present, and Tottenham could be able to offer him that in both the short and long-term. Tel was named as 'one of the best young strikers in Europe' on Sky Sports News just two weeks ago, and Tottenham would relish his arrival.

Dominic Solanke is out for the next six weeks, whilst other stars in their frontline haven't produced in recent months, and Tel would offer Ange Postecoglou's side both potential and quality in the final third.

Tottenham Eyeing Late Move to Sign ‘World-Class’ £350,000-a-Week Forward

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and could move to sign him before the transfer deadline, according to the Daily Mail.

Club record signing Dominic Solanke has missed the past few weeks due to a knee injury, while his support options of Richarlison and Timo Werner have also been absent from the team for large portions of the season, again due to injury.

As such, there is a desperation amongst fans for further reinforcements in attack and Spurs still have time before the deadline, with Rashford someone they are looking at.

Spurs ready to sign Rashford

They are not the only interested party

It is apparent that Marcus Rashford has a bleak future at Manchester United. The forward has not featured in any matches since being dropped from the squad for the Manchester derby last month, with new manager Ruben Amorim having publicly criticised a perceived poor attitude from the England international.

A loan exit is expected to happen before the transfer deadline on February 3, and while GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that he is hoping for a move to Barcelona right now that isn't in the pipeline.

Tottenham have asked to be kept informed of his situation and while they look to make a couple of signings before the deadline, a forward is seen as a priority and the England international, who has been described as "world-class" previously, could be an ideal target.

Rashford is currently earning around £350,000-per-week at Old Trafford and those wages have so far been a stumbling block to any deal, with Man Utd wanting the majority of that covered by whichever club he joins. As such, it could prove to be a coup for Spurs if they can hammer out a deal for Rashford and he can recapture some of his form.

Tottenham 'Open Talks' to Sign 'Remarkable' Premier League Forward

Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Brentford over a deal to sign striker Yoane Wissa before the February 3rd deadline, according to Santi Aouna.

The Lilywhite are desperate to add to manager Ange Postecoglou's squad before the transfer window closes after suffering with a host of injury problems this season which has contributed to them sitting in 15th place in the Premier League table.

Forward is a key target area following injuries to Dominic Solanke, Richarlison, Wilson Odobert and Heung-Min Son at different stages of the campaign and they are now looking to bring in the west London frontman.

Tottenham Open Talks for Wissa

Striker has scored 11 goals this season

Wissa emerged as a target earlier in the window for Nottingham Forest but the Bees rejected a bid worth £22m for the "remarkable" forward.

That has left the door ajar for Tottenham to make their move for the 28-year-old striker, and they have made contact with Brentford to try and get a deal over the line before Monday's deadline.

Postecoglou has been interested in bringing in a forward throughout the window, with the club pushing hard to sign Randal Kolo Muani before he opted instead to join Juventus on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

The club have also entered talks with Premier League rivals Southampton for sensation Tyler Dibling, and reports in recent days have suggested they have an interest in Bayern Munich sensation Mathys Tel also.

But reports in France now state that Spurs have also made their move to sign the DR Congo international, with Brentford potentially more open to a sale since his contract is due to expire in the summer of 2026.

Manager Thomas Frank no doubt wants to keep his top scorer this season, but there has been suggestions he could be someone targeted to replace Postecoglou in north London should he be sacked too which makes the situation even more interested.

There is no fee mentioned for a potential deal at this stage but after rejecting a bid from Forest, it will likely take in excess of £25m for a deal to happen.

Tottenham Unwilling to Pay £8m for Manager who is 'Better Than Postecoglou'

Ange Postecoglou's position at Tottenham Hotspur continues to be cast in doubt after some poor results in the Premier League so far this season - and Dean Jones has exclusively stated to GIVEMESPORT that the club could be interested in Fulham boss Marco Silva, though his release clause could be a sticking point.

Postecoglou has not won any of his last seven games in the top-flight, including just one in his last 11, and that came against bottom side Southampton. As a result, the club are a lowly 15th in the table, on course for their worst-ever Premier League finish and with that comes pressure on the Australian boss. As a result, names have been floated and Silva's position could see him come to the fore - but there are issues with that.

Jones: Tottenham Could Struggle With Marco Silva Release Clause

The Portuguese boss has worked wonders at Craven Cottage

Jones wrote for GIVEMESPORT in his Tottenham managerial candidate article that Silva has demonstrated his ability to help a team exceed expectations in his time at Fulham, and that could see Spurs view him as an ideal candidate to take over from Postecoglou, should the opportunity arise.

However, his contract includes an £8million release clause, which sources believe that chairman Daniel Levy would be reluctant to pay if he is to look for a replacement for the Australian boss. Jones further stated that Levy's reputation of refusing to spend money when needed could be a major factor in Silva's non-move from west to north London, and with that in mind, cheaper alternatives could be sought-after.

Silva's record at Fulham has been superb, leading the Cottagers to the Championship title in his first season in charge, before finishing 10th in his first Premier League season as Fulham boss - and despite a 13th-placed finish last season, Silva's side were over 20 points clear of relegation by the end of the season.

They're firmly in a European hunt this time around, sitting just seven points from a potential place in the Europa Conference League, but even if they don't achieve that, the west London side have still become an established Premier League outfit under his tutelage. It's led to calls that Silva is a 'better manager' than Postecoglou, with Rory Jennings stating as such on talkSPORT.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Marco Silva has won 73 of his 166 games in charge of Fulham.

The same can't be said for Tottenham this season. Fulham have only lost six games in the league, less than double what Fulham have - and with Silva slowly building his side with the aim of becoming a regular top-half side, it could be what Spurs need.

Tottenham 'Hold Talks' to Sign 'Phenomenal' England International

Lille midfielder Angel Gomes is a player that Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a keen eye on ahead of the transfer deadline, according to The Telegraph.

Despite their season having been ravaged by injuries, Spurs have only signed one player in the winter window at the time of writing. Antonin Kinsky was drafted in earlier this month to provide cover for Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster, with Spurs’ shot-stoppers having both spent time on the sidelines during the campaign.

Elsewhere on the pitch, however, Spurs are done to the bare bones, as is evident by both the club’s league position of 15th and the growing pressure on manager Ange Postecoglou. The North London side may yet, however, make at least one more addition before the window shuts in early February.

Spurs keen on Angel Gomes

Midfielder would offer much-needed depth

Spurs’ injury woes were made even worse when Postecoglou recently confirmed that Pape Matar Sarr had gone down with a knock, leaving just four midfield options for Spurs. One of those, Archie Gray, has been deployed across the backline this season to help the club cope with their defensive injuries, only increasing their need for midfield depth.

This is something that Angel Gomes, who has been described as 'phenomenal' would offer. The midfielder, who began his career with Manchester United, joined Lille in 2020. After a season away on loan, Gomes returned in 2021 and has since become a crucial part of the Lille team, having racked up over 100 appearances for the club.

Comfortable playing either as a central midfielder, holding midfielder or further up the pitch, Gomes would offer Spurs a versatility that their current injury predicament will have them craving. The Telegraph reported that, while Gomes was initially viewed as a summer target, they are now looking to bring in at least one outfield player this window, so perhaps a deal could be brought forward.

Gomes is out of contract in the summer, meaning Spurs may find themselves able to strike a cut-price deal for the midfielder, who made his debut for the England national team last year. Conversely, as Gomes plays abroad, Spurs may hope the player signs a pre-contract agreement if they fail to negotiate a deal.

Tottenham Eyeing £50m Loan-to-Buy Move for 'Special' Forward

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of Southampton sensation Tyler Dibling, but would have to part with £50 million to secure the deal, according to TBR Football.

In a season ravaged by injuries, Spurs find themselves 15th in the Premier League table. Pressure is mounting on manager Ange Postecoglou, despite the Australian having guided Spurs to the Carabao Cup semi-finals as the orth London side desperately seek a major trophy, having not won one since 2008.

It is evident that Spurs need signings having only recruited Antonin Kinsky this month, while numerous players throughout the squad have been forced to sit on the sidelines through injury over the campaign.

Dibling on Spurs’ radar

Southampton are in no rush to sell the talent

It is unsurprising that numerous teams have been reported to hold an interest in signing Dibling, who has been described as "special", and Spurs are no different. It is believed, though, that the Saints would demand £50 million for Dibling, given they are in no rush to sell. Were that fee met, it would make Dibling the most expensive teenager in Premier League history.

Spurs do not have such money to spend in the winter window, according to TBR Football. As such, it is believed that the north Londoners would look to sign Dibling on an initial loan until the end of the season before paying Southampton that £50million fee in the coming summer.

In a miserable season for Southampton, teenager Tyler Dibling has been one of very few shining lights, perhaps their only one. The winger, who is also comfortable playing as a number 10, has showcased an immense level of talent and even more potential throughout the campaign.

Dibling would be a great acquisition for Spurs, were they able to get a deal over the line. While it appears unlikely, fans can take comfort in the assumption that the team are looking to bolster their ranks prior to the window closing.

Next Tottenham boss: Five managers who could replace Postecoglou at Spurs

Submitted by daniel on

Description

It is without question that Tottenham are in a crisis. Defeat to Leicester City was their seventh Premier League match without a win, which includes six losses during this period, and pressure is mounting on Ange Postecoglou. Recent reports have suggested the Lilywhites are eager to stick by their under-fire Aussie, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may well have a change of heart if the defeats continue and more fans join the Ange-out camp.

If Postecoglou's time at the club is brought to an end, we have taken a look at five managers who could potentially take over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Andoni Iraola

Current Club: Bournemouth

It is safe to say Bournemouth are one of the most in form teams in the country right now, and that is heavily down to their manager, Andoni Iraola. Implementing a high-pressing, intense style of play, the Cherries are 11 games unbeaten in the Premier League, and are a nightmare to play against, as they win the ball high up the pitch, and overload attacking areas.

Iraola, the mastermind behind this style of play, is just 42 years old, and seems ready to take the next step in his career. An ambitious move, but one that would be perfect for Tottenham if they could prize him away from the Bournemouth project. The Spaniard is sure to be one of the most sought after managers in Europe if he helps Bournemouth to qualify for European football, so if Tottenham could acquire him early, then he could be the man to return Spurs to their former glory. The north London club are known to be keen.

Thomas Frank

Current Club: Brentford

Since being promoted to the Premier League in 2021, Thomas Frank's Brentford have been fantastic. With their elite tactics, and exemplary work rate, the Bees have become an established Premier League side who cause problems for almost all teams they face.

Seamlessly adapting to losing their talisman Ivan Toney, first to a ban, then when he moved to the Saudi Pro League, Frank has displayed excellent management to ensure his team wasn't affected. In his fourth Premier League season, where he may have taken Brentford as far as he can, a move to Tottenham - who are said to hold an interest - could be just what the club needs to push on. If he doesn't become Tottenham manager, it won't be long before Frank lands himself a top job.

Edin Terzic

Most Recent Club Managed: Borussia Dortmund

Reported to be highly appreciated by the Tottenham hierarchy, Edin Terzic could be just the man to take over from Ange Postecoglou.

Tactically very versatile, the former Dortmund manager could provide Spurs with a fresh dynamic, as they look to get out of their current run of form. Terzic led Borrusia Dortmund to the Champions League final last season, as well as winning a domestic trophy earlier in his spell - he would be able to bring a winning mentality to North London.

His best attribute is his ability to make tactical changes for every opponent he faces, which is particularly beneficial in cup competitions, as Spurs chase a first piece of silverware since 2008.

Erik Ten Hag

Most Recent Club Managed: Man United

Despite a difficult spell at Man United, Erik Ten Hag is certainly a good manager, and a name linked with the Tottenham job. A role which few have succeeded in recently at Man United, the Dutchman was still able to win the League Cup and FA Cup during his two full seasons in Manchester, where he has arguably gained an unfair reputation.

Having a very impressive spell with Ajax, where he took them to a Champions League semi-final, and won three league titles, Tottenham could be just the place for him to get his career back on track. Being recognised for his ability to work with young players whilst in the Netherlands, the Spurs job could be perfect for Ten Hag due to their very young squad.

Massimiliano Allegri

Most Recent Club Managed: Juventus

Another name linked with the managerial hotseat at Tottenham is former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri. The Italian has been presented with an offer from Saudi Arabia, but a role in Europe could tempt him.

Very good at setting up a defence, Allegri could help to combat Spurs' leaky back line, which has conceded 37 goals so far this season. With Tottenham currently sitting 15th in the Premier League, serious change is needed at both ends of the pitch, and the appointment of Allegri is sure to improve their defence, which is a cause of a lot of their current issues.

The former Juventus manager, who led his side to multiple Champions League finals, knows how to win games and succeed in European competitions, which could be perfect for Tottenham right now.

Englishman a 'Strong Candidate' to Replace Postecoglou at Tottenham

Submitted by daniel on
Picture

Description

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is under serious pressure in north London after a string of poor results in the Premier League - and with other managers being touted for the role, one familiar name could come back into the fold in the form of Ryan Mason, journalist Dean Jones has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.

Postecoglou has won just one of his last 11 Premier League games and none of his last seven, with the solo victory coming against Southampton, who have lost 19 of their 23 games this season. That has seen him come under pressure with other managers being touted to take over - though Mason is considered a 'strong candidate' for the role.

The former midfielder has been in the dugout twice already

Mason knows the club and that could play into his hands. Jones wrote that although Mason may not be the most attractive appointment, his respect within the Tottenham dressing room is enough of a reason to take on the interim role once again.

And, alongside that, familiarity with the squad could be the one that steadies the ship. Jones wrote:

"This might not seem sexy, but if Postecoglou does depart Tottenham, assistant Ryan Mason is considered a strong candidate to take over in the interim. Mason enjoys respect within the Spurs dressing room and has previously stepped in as caretaker manager.

"His familiarity with the squad and tactical insight could make him a stabilising presence during a transitional period. This will become more likely if they have to wait for a top choice."

Mason, who played for Tottenham from youth team until 2016, has also managed Tottenham as an interim coach twice. Four wins in seven games back in 2021 after Jose Mourinho was sacked saw him become a solid stabiliser for the club - and doing the same again when Antonio Conte was relieved of his duties, he won two of his six games in charge.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Ange Postecoglou has won 37 of his 76 games in charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

Whilst they aren't incredible statistics, Mason has been in the club's coaching ranks for almost seven years and a familiarity with their setup, a familiar face in the dressing room and a calming presence could be just the tonic for Tottenham.

Exclusive: Newcastle 'Want to Beat Tottenham' in Battle to Sign £55m Star

Description

Newcastle United are desperate for Tyler Dibling to stop short of rushing into a mid-season move to Tottenham Hotspur as it will open the door for the Southampton star to eventually complete a switch to St James' Park at the end of the campaign, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Miguel Almiron is on the verge of sealing a £9.5million return to Atlanta United after the Paraguayan travelled to the United States to undergo a medical having already agreed personal terms with the Major League Soccer outfit, meaning Magpies head coach Eddie Howe is at risk of being left short of wide options unless he secures a replacement.

Sporting director Paul Mitchell is playing a crucial role in Newcastle's recruitment drive and, having succeeded in fending off Alexander Isak suitors by insisting it would take more than £150million to acquire his services, the Tyneside giants are keeping tabs on several targets as the February 3 transfer deadline edges closer.

Magpies and Spurs Monitor Dibling's Situation

Southampton teenager wanted on Tyneside and in north London

Newcastle are hoping that Dibling will take his time to choose a new club ahead of potentially leaving Southampton, according to GMS sources, as Howe and recruitment staff at St James' Park are eager to beat Premier League rivals Tottenham to his signature in the coming months.

Spurs have an opportunity to win the race for the 18-year-old winger as the Magpies are not in a position to meet his price tag, which stands at £55million after being among his current employers' best performers as they attempt to avoid an immediate relegation back to the Championship, but there are doubts over whether he will agitate for a winter switch.

GMS sources have been informed that Newcastle have a genuine interest in Dibling, with Howe being confident that he is capable of getting the best out of him after becoming a significant admirer thanks to his displays this season, but there are fears that Tottenham are preparing to up the ante ahead of the transfer window slamming shut.

Southampton are in a strong negotiating position as the England under-21 international still has two-and-a-half-years remaining on a contract which allows him to pocket £5,000-per-week, while their precarious position in the Premier League's drop zone has resulted in a desperation to fend off potential advances from Tyneside and north London.

Newcastle are pushing for European qualification and are optimistic that their ambition will be enough to convince Dibling to refrain from joining Tottenham in the coming days, GMS sources have learned, but he is also being monitored by the likes of Manchester United and Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tyler Dibling has boasted 81 per cent pass accuracy in the Premier League this season

Cherki Pinpointed as Another Possible Recruit

Lyon's financial situation could lead to opportunity to pounce

Dibling is not the only man being targeted by Newcastle and Tottenham as GMS sources have been told that both sides have Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki on their radar as a potential acquisition as they go in search of securing fresh attacking impetus for the remainder of the campaign.

The Ligue 1 outfit have been attempting to recoup significant sums during the winter transfer window as their financial mismanagement has resulted in being provisionally relegated to France's second tier, leading to the Magpies and Spurs being tempted to offer the 21-year-old a route out of his current surroundings.

Newcastle sporting director Mitchell is believed to have some degree of interest despite concerns over whether Cherki is the right fit for the squad and Howe not being particularly keen on pouncing, GMS sources understand, while he is gaining admiring glances from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after being touted around the Premier League.

The Magpies' biggest task in the coming months could prove to be holding onto Isak as transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently told GMS that Spurs' arch-rivals Arsenal still have the Sweden international as their dream signing even though he will not be on the move in the final days of the winter window.

Exclusive: Levy on 'Personal Mission' to Sign 'Amazing' Star for Tottenham

Submitted by daniel on
Picture
Remote Image
Description

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has made it a personal mission this month to secure a deal for Lille star Angel Gomes, GIVEMESPORT understands.

Spurs are struggling on and off the pitch as they languish in the bottom half of the Premier League table and, in this winter window, boss Ange Postecoglou is yet to make an outfield signing.

Heading into January, it was expected that a left-sided centre-back and wide forward would be prioritised, but neither of those situations have worked out and a lot of focus is centred around a signing for the midfield.

Levy is Driving Force in Spurs' Gomes Pursuit

Midfielder seen as attractive option due to homegrown status

We have reported all month how Gomes is a prime target for Tottenham because he is on course to become free agent, while the fact he is homegrown is something that is very much an important factor.

Levy has personally taken a keen involvement in discussions that have taken place this month, along with technical director Johan Lange, in a bid to land the "amazing" England international.

Sources indicate that Spurs have maintained regular contact with Gomes’ camp, initially holding discussions at the start of January in France as they aimed to convince the former Manchester United academy graduate to join them.

Tottenham were even prepared to offer Lille cash to sign Gomes in this window if such a deal seemed plausible. Despite the north Londoners' persistence, the 23-year-old remains undecided.

Gomes is understood to have prioritised a return to Old Trafford initially, but also intimated he would see Spurs as an option if a Manchester United transfer was off the table.

Meanwhile, West Ham United have also been in the race for Gomes, and have made their own advances to sign him. Tottenham, however, are persistent in their ongoing efforts to convince Gomes to join them, with Levy personally driving the negotiations alongside Lange.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Angel Gomes completed 81 per cent of his passes after coming on as a substitute in Lille's 2-1 defeat at Strasbourg last weekend

North Londoners Considering Late Diouf Move

Gomes not capital club's only target currently in France

The appeal of Gomes as a homegrown player and his creative abilities made him a key target for Tottenham as they look to strengthen their squad.

Fans are frustrated that goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is the only signing to have been made this month and, in the next week, Levy must work hard to make sure there is a positive end to the window.

While Spurs prioritise Gomes, they have also done other groundwork in France - including sounding out Andy Diouf, of Lens.

Sources declare that there is still optimism that a signing will be made for the here and now to boost Tottenham’s current season, yet it is clear that Gomes has been one of their major areas of focus.

The capital club have been linked with Tyler Dibling, of Southampton, as well. We understand that interest is very serious, but competition is even more fierce, with sides abroad also interested as the player looks for a move that truly pushes his potential to the limit.
