Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur: Player Ratings and Match Highlights

Description

Arsenal picked up a huge three points in the North London Derby against Spurs on Wednesday evening.

The home side came out all guns blazing in the first half and adopted a very fast-paced and aggressive approach which put some early pressure on Spurs and led to some shaky moments at the back early on for Ange Postecoglou's men. Spurs goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in particular was being targeted straight from the off from set pieces which have been key for Arsenal this season.

Despite Arsenal enjoying plenty of dominance and comfort in the opening 20 minutes of the match, it was Spurs who took the opening goal. Prior to the goal, Spurs had two huge chances through Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski and none of them could direct it home but the one man who converted his chance was Son Heung-min and he did it thanks to the help of a deflection.

Spurs may have drawn first blood but it did not help them in the general run of play as the hosts maintained control of the match straight after their goal and managed to equalise just five minutes before half-time thanks to yet another well-worked set piece which was headed in by Gabriel, with the help of a slight deflection off Solanke. It is worth noting that there was controversy around the goal as Pedro Porro felt the corner should have instead been a goal kick for his side but it was not given.

The away side's failure to push with their 1-0 lead came back to bite them as the hosts turned the game around in just four minutes and found themselves in the lead right on half time. Leandro Trossard bombed down the left wing and unleashed a powerful shot on goal which somehow found its way in. Kinsky will be disappointed when he looks back on the goal as he gets good contact on the shot but he still let it in. This was the final action for the first half and the hosts went into the break with a 2-1 lead.

Postecoglou made two big attacking changes at half-time, introducing both Brennan Johnson and James Maddison into the match in place of defensive midfielders Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr who were poor in the first 45 minutes. Those changes did make a difference as Spurs straight away looked more threatening going forward.

Despite a strong start to the second half for Spurs, Arsenal mainly controlled the second half and went close to adding to their lead on several occasions, most notably when Kinsky made a huge double save to somewhat make up for his previous error in the match.

The match ended 2-1 and even though Spurs had late spells of pressure, Arsenal came away with the three points.

Match Highlights

Arsenal Player Ratings

GK: David Raya - 6.5/10

The Spaniard could not have done much to stop Son's goal due to the deflection. Other than one save in the first half, he did not have much to do at all.

RB: Jurrien Timber - 7/10

Defended really well against Son and didn't really give him a sniff at goal. In possession he was calm and composed too.

CB: William Saliba - 7.5/10

Dealt with Solanke very well and looked very comfortable in defence.

CB: Gabriel - 8/10

Made several heroic tackles to save his side in vital moments. He also dealt with Solanke well and didn't really give him a chance at goal.

LB: Myles Lewis-Skelly - 7.5/10

The youngster just gets better and better with every match he plays. Lewis-Skelly was calm and composed on the ball and didn't look out of place despite his youth.

CM: Thomas Partey - 6.5/10

Partey was solid but he slowed down play a lot in midfield at times.

CM: Declan Rice - 8.5/10

His set-piece delivery all evening was sublime and caused constant problems for the Spurs goalkeeper and defence. As well as his set-piece delivery, Rice battled well in midfield and also got into some really good attacking positions.

CM: Martin Odegaard - 7.5/10

Worked hard and also was quality in possession. At times Odegaard ran the midfield and was a key player in Arsenal's victory.

RW: Raheem Sterling - 6/10

Substituted after an hour after not being able to really get into the match for Arsenal.

ST: Kai Havertz - 6/10

Struggled to get into the game and was pretty ineffective up front.

LW: Leandro Trossard - 8/10

The Spurs goalkeeper probably should've done better to keep out his shot but he won't complain. Trossard had Porro on skates several times during the match and looked a nightmare to play against.

SUB: Gabriel Martinelli - 7/10

Was a constant threat down the wing after his introduction.

SUB: Kieran Tierney - N/A

Didn't do anything of any note after entering the pitch.

SUB: Oleksandr Zinchenko - N/A

Didn't do anything of any note after entering the pitch.

SUB: Mikel Merino - N/A

Didn't do anything of any note after entering the pitch.

Spurs Player Ratings

GK: Antonin Kinsky - 5/10

Really struggled at times dealing with Arsenal's set pieces and he probably should've kept out the home side's second goal after getting good contact on the ball.

RB: Pedro Porro - 5.5/10

Had a horrible time up against Trossard and was sat down on several occasions. He could not contribute as much going forward as he normally does.

CB: Radu Dragusin - 5/10

Struggled at times getting dragged out wide up against Trossard and was pretty sloppy in posession.

CB: Archie Gray - 7/10

Held the entire Spurs back line together at times despite once again playing out of position. In posession he looked calm and composed and physically held his own as well.

LB: Djed Spence - 7.5/10

Had some good moments going forward, particularly in the first half and was arguably the away side's most threatening attacking outlet.

CM: Yves Bissouma - 4/10

Substituted at half-time after a really poor first-half showing. He was partly to blame for Arsenal's second goal due to giving the ball away.

CM: Pape Sarr - 4.5/10

Substituted at half-time along with Bissouma after a poor opening 45 minutes. Sarr was sloppy on the ball and was outrun out of possession and there was no real surprise that Postecoglou took him off so early.

CM: Lucas Bergvall - 7.5/10

Despite his starting midfield partners being poor, the young Swede actually had a good performance. Bergvall had plenty of energy in the middle of the park and made several huge tackles to break up play.

RW: Dejan Kulusevski - 5/10

Outrun and outfought. At times the Swede looked like he couldn't be bothered which is not good in a North London derby.

ST: Dominic Solanke - 5/10

Solanke was unluckily credited with an own goal and didn't really have a sniff at goal. He really struggled up against Saliba and Gabriel.

LW: Son Heung-min - 7/10

Got quite lucky with his goal as it took a huge deflection. Other than that, he did not really get into the game.

SUB: Brennan Johnson - 6/10

Struggled to get into the game despite being brooght on at half-time.

SUB: James Maddison - 7/10

Had a great 45 minutes and was arguably Spurs' best attacking outlet in the match.

SUB: Richarlison - N/A

Didn't do anything of any note after entering the pitch.

Man of the Match

Declan Rice

What a performance. The Englishman dominated the middle of the park with his energy and physical presence. Rice was solid defensively but also going forward he provided quality and innovation.

His set-pieces caused problems for Kinsky all evening and probably should've had an assist to his name but Gabriel's header went down as a Dominic Solanke own goal. There have been many great performances in this fixture throughout the years and Rice has just put in one of the strongest performances for Arsenal in the last few years.

Every Tottenham Hotspur Player's Wage [2025]

Description

Much has been made of Tottenham Hotspur’s trophy curse in recent times. It’s no secret that the club from the white half of north London has never won the Premier League, but it is incredible that they last tasted glory in 2007, under Juande Ramos, when they beat fellow capital club Chelsea 2-1 in the League Cup.

But it cannot be said that their boardroom bosses – spearheaded by their much-maligned owner, Daniel Levy – have not splashed the cash over the years on a) transfer fees and b) weekly wages. It’s just their investment has failed to pay dividends when you take in their lack of silverware over the years.

Now under the watchful eye of Ange Postecoglou, who has claimed that he always wins trophies in his second season, they’ll be hoping to buck the ever-growing trend with the help of the several new arrivals who all bank big money. Here is how much everyone in Tottenham’s senior squad is making throughout this campaign.

Goalkeepers

Forster and Vicario both earn £75,000-per-week

Guglielmo Vicario, upon signing for Tottenham in the summer of 2023 from Italian side Empoli, had the onerous task of filling Hugo Lloris’ boots and has been a reliable figure in Postecoglou’s quest for silverware in the English capital. A four-cap Italy international, the imposing glove bearer has been a welcome addition.

Udine-born Vicario, despite being the club’s number one option between the sticks, earns much less than plenty of his teammates in north London (more on that to come) but he still takes home a healthy £75,000-per-week. Elsewhere, the wage of January addition Antonin Kinsky remains unknown.

Also earning £75,000 on a weekly basis at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Spurs’ second fiddle, Fraser Forster. Albeit experienced at the highest level of English football, the 36-year-old has flattered to deceive in Vicario’s absence and, on the back of his ponderous displays, his days at the club are surely numbered.

Tottenham also boast both Alfie Whiteman and Brandon Austin, both 26 years of age, in their goalkeeping department, with both being depended on when push comes to shove. The former earns £15,000-per-week while the latter earns half his fellow coutryman’s wage.

Defenders

Micky van de Ven among Tottenham's lowest earners in defence

Cristian Romero is often lambasted for his crunching tackles and lack of control, but the Argentine, revered as one of the most expensive centre-backs in football history, has become an ever-reliable presence in the heart of Tottenham’s back line since joining.

Incredibly, especially when compared to some of his defensive teammates, one of the best Premier League centre-backs in Micky van de Ven lines his pockets with £50,000-per-week – the same wage packet as Djed Spence, who has typically been a bench warmer under Postecoglou’s stewardship.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Van de Ven has registered the quickest speed of any Premier League player in 2024/25, having clocked 37.12 km/h against Manchester United.

In the full-back positions, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie make £85,000 and £75,000-per-week, respectively, while the seasoned Ben Davies – albeit not a starter this season when everyone is fit – earns smack bang in the middle of those two figures.

Radu Dragusin has flattered to deceive since joining from Genoa but, by virtue of him signing on the dotted line in the summer, is one of Tottenham’s highest earners in defence - £85,000-per-week. He earns much more than Sergio Reguilon, who pockets a healthy £53,000 every week.

Midfielders

Maddison earns £100,000 more than his midfield teammates

Neither is the talent of Rodrigo Bentancur. Formerly a key cog in Juventus’ engine room, the Uruguayan (when fit) provides Postecoglou and co plenty of control in the middle of the park and gets paid handsomely - £75,000-per-week – for doing it.

Real Madrid-linked Archie Gray has been unable to play his favoured position – central midfield – as much as expected thanks to injuries, but his maturity has endeared him to the club’s faithful following. He earns £75,000-per-week.

That’s £5,000 more than that of 24-cap Senegal international Pape Matar Sarr, who has featured in every Premier League outing of the season thus far. Gray’s weekly take home is also £20,000 more than what midfielder Yves Bissouma earns.

The future of the north Londoners’ engine room, Lucas Bergvall, has perhaps played more than expected since completing his high-profile move in the summer of 2024. Equally progressive as he is combative, fans are yet to see the £15,000-per-week earner in full flight given he's still in his bedding-in period.

Forwards

Captain Son is Spurs' highest earning player on £190,000-per-week

Probably as expected, Tottenham captain Son Heung-min – who is regarded as one of the best wingers in England’s top flight – earns the most out of his teammates by taking home £190,000 on a week-by-week basis. Given the experience he brings, it’s little surprise that he’s the club’s highest earner.

Timo Werner and Dejan Kulusevski, widely viewed as one of the best players to be born in 2000, are also among Tottenham’s highest earners. The former may not be considered a starter under the current management, but he still earns a £165,000 every week.

The latter, on the other hand, is in the form of his life and the club will be looking to extend his contract – upping his take home in the process – sooner rather than later to fend off potential suitors. At the time of writing, the Swede is contracted until 2028.

Upon Harry Kane leaving to the lure of Bayern Munich, Tottenham’s attacking unit wage bill was given a massive boost – and much of the financial gain was spent on getting Dominic Solanke, formerly of Bournemouth, through the door.

The England talisman has settled well into life in the north of the capital – scoring against Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa and the like – and is earning £90,000-per-week by doing what he does best: hitting the back of the net like it's going out of fashion.

Richarlison, who is currently sitting in Postecoglou’s peripheral thinking, earns the same as the three-cap England international, while Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert are not paid as handsomely with them taking home £70,000 and £25,000-per-week, respectively.

Exclusive: Tottenham Offered 'One of the Best Strikers in the World' After Muani

Tottenham Hotspur's quest to sign Randal Kolo Muani looks to be coming to a bitter end - but the Lilywhites will continue to set their sights on the French market - with GIVEMESPORT sources revealing that they have been offered the chance to sign Jonathan David, Rayan Cherki and Evann Guessand, with Ange Postecoglou looking to find a reprieve after missing out on the former Frankfurt star.

Juventus appear to have won the race to sign Kolo Muani on a straight loan deal until the end of the transfer window - however, that doesn't mean Tottenham can rest in the market, and they still need to find a solution on either a loan deal or a low-price transfer with France's market boasting some real gems.

Sources: Tottenham 'Could Stick' to Ligue 1 Scouting Mission

Kolo Muani won't be joining but others could be sought-after

GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that Tottenham could stick to the Ligue 1 transfer market, as they look for alternatives to replace Kolo Muani on their shortlist, with the Frenchman set for a loan move to Juventus. Fresh attacking players are needed for an impetus in Tottenham's squad, and sources have stated that Lille star David, Lyon prodigy Cherki and surprise package Guessand are all players that have been offered out by their agents in recent times.

Tottenham have scouted plenty of other players in France too, and not just the attacking areas. Of their current crop, Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and Wilson Odobert have all plied their trade in Ligue 1, whilst club heroes such as Hugo Lloris came from the French top-flight in what was Tottenham's most successful period of this century.

Juventus have been anticipating signing off for a deal for Kolo Muani, which is a blow for Tottenham, who have actively been trying to sign the player for two weeks - and we reported how Daniel Levy's men knew that he would choose Juventus the longer those negotiations dragged on.

The club have also scouted England international Angel Gomes and Andy Diouf, who also play in the top-flight in France, as midfield options, but David - previously labelled as "one of the best strikers in the world" - would represent the best coup of any mentioned player, due to his experience and output for Lille over the past few years.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Jonathan David has 31 goals in 59 caps for Canada.

Joining the club in the summer of 2020, David has 82 league goals in just 163 games, which is a slightly better tally than one goal per two games - and with Dominic Solanke and Son Heung-min as their only two established goalscorers, David would be a superb signing in a bid to get them on the right track.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have yet to identify their next concrete striker target after missing out on Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

The Lilywhites were snubbed by the French international this week despite seeing their loan proposal accepted by PSG, as Kolo Muani chose a move to Juventus for the opportunity to play Champions League football.

According to Romano, while Spurs must have a backup plan, no concrete names who they might target next have yet emerged, with just over two weeks left in the January transfer window.

Tottenham have welcomed promising goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky as their first winter signing and are expected to target further reinforcements to boost Ange Postecoglou’s squad amid a difficult Premier League season.

Tottenham Miss Out on Kolo Muani

Frenchman decides to join Juventus

Romano, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, has revealed that Tottenham should have a backup plan after missing out on Kolo Muani, though no concrete names have yet emerged:

“I'm sure they do, but no concrete name leaks yet. From today we will see, as yesterday Spurs tried until the end to convince Kolo Muani and get the green light from the player.

“PSG accepted both loan proposals from Juventus and Spurs, but then the player decided for Juventus also because of Champions League football.”

Tottenham have splashed out heavily on new strikers before the season, paying a club-record fee for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke and welcoming promising youngster Wilson Odobert from Burnley.

However, with Odobert suffering a worrying injury back in October and Solanke netting just seven Premier League goals so far, Spurs are looking at the striker market again in a bid to boost their chances of qualifying for European football.

Tottenham are sitting just 12th in the Premier League after 20 games, despite having the second-best goalscoring record, with 42 goals netted – only Liverpool have managed more this campaign (48).

Postecoglou’s men will next face Arsenal in a feisty North London derby on Wednesday, before taking on Everton at the weekend.

Exclusive: 'Exceptional' Tottenham Target due for Medical as Rival Move Agreed

Description

Randal Kolo Muani's potential loan move to either Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United is now all but a pipe dream - with the Frenchman heading to Juventus for a medical on Wednesday as he waits to join the Turin-based side, GIVEMESPORT sources exclusively revealed on our brand-new Market Madness podcast.

Kolo Muani has had an indifferent season for Paris Saint-Germain this time out, scoring just two goals in 14 Ligue 1 games so far in the current campaign - and with other stars shining ahead of him at the Parc des Princes, he's been made available for loan. That has seen Tottenham and United linked with a move for his services, but sources have stated that the former Frankfurt striker is set to undergo a medical with Juventus, with the striker on his way to Turin to complete the formalities of a deal.

Sources: Kolo Muani to Undergo Juventus Medical on Wednesday

His move to Italy has seen Spurs and Man Utd lose out on his signature

GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed on our brand-new Market Madness podcast that PSG have a verbal agreement with Juventus over a deal, with the Italian giants also agreeing a deal with the forward.

And to anguish Spurs further, sources have revealed that he has picked the Italian club over them. Juve are in the race to qualify for the Champions League, whilst Tottenham are languishing in the bottom half and are at least 10 points adrift of qualifying for European football in the Premier League table.

The move is only a straight loan deal, despite Juventus initially wanting to land him permanently in the form of an obligation-to-buy loan - where he will join Dusan Vlahovic, Timothy Weah and Kenan Yildiz in the attacking ranks in Turin. Tottenham had an offer on the table, whilst United didn't make an official bid as they were looking at a different profile of player, with Ruben Amorim also keen to strengthen his ranks going forward into the second half of the season.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Randal Kolo Muani has eight goals in 27 caps for France.

The first part of his medical will take place on Wednesday afternoon, and all being well for the Serie A side, Kolo Muani will join the Allianz Stadium side in a bid to fire them into top four consolidation.

Conte Wants to Sign £200k-p/w Tottenham Star to Replace Kvaratskhelia

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Napoli have identified Tottenham Hotspur forward Timo Werner as a potential replacement for PSG-bound Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Serie A giants have earmarked the Germany international as an option to bolster Antonio Conte’s frontline this month, alongside Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

However, the Argentinian forward is reportedly Napoli’s priority target to replace Kvaratskhelia, and they would only consider a move for Werner if they fail to land Garnacho in the coming weeks.

While there have been exploratory contacts in the past few days, it may be a difficult deal to execute, considering Werner is on loan at Spurs from RB Leipzig.

Werner Eyed by Serie A Giants

According to Di Marzio, Werner could be given the green light by Tottenham to explore a potential move to Napoli after the North London derby against Arsenal on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old is seemingly not considered untouchable in Ange Postecoglou’s squad, having struggled to impress the Australian tactician this season after re-joining on loan from Leipzig.

Werner, who earns £200,000 per week, has made just four starts in the Premier League this term, assisting three goals in 507 minutes of action.

The 28-year-old scored once for Spurs in the Carabao Cup, netting the opener in their surprise 2-1 victory over Manchester City in September.

While Tottenham have an option to make Werner’s arrival permanent at the end of the season, GIVEMESPORT sources suggest Werner is not expected to remain in North London next summer.

Spurs are understood to be looking for reinforcements up front this month and have placed their focus on Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, who is also a target for Man United.

Tottenham are currently 12th in the Premier League table, having won just once in their last eight top-flight games.

Tottenham Submit Formal Loan Offer to Sign 'Exceptional' Star

Description

Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus have made initial offers for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to L’Equipe.

The two interested clubs have reportedly proposed a loan deal with an option to buy and are now awaiting a response from PSG.

L’Equipe reports that the Parisian giants want to hear from all interested parties before deciding on Kolo Muani’s next destination, while the French forward is also yet to determine his preferred move in January, though he is considering a switch to Spurs.

It remains to be seen whether other clubs, including Manchester United, will follow up with proposals, after been linked with Kolo Muani in recent weeks.

Spurs Submit Bid for Kolo Muani

Juventus ‘pushing hard’ for deal

According to L’Equipe, Juventus are ‘pushing hard’ for Kolo Muani to join on loan in January, with Tottenham also in contention to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s frontline with the France international this month.

The ‘exceptional’ 26-year-old, who joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt for £77m in the summer of 2023, has struggled to justify his hefty price tag in Paris, scoring just 11 goals in 54 appearances across all competitions.

With Goncalo Ramos and Ousmane Dembele ahead of him in Luis Enrique’s pecking order this season, Kolo Muani has been allowed to leave and is attracting interest from multiple European heavyweights.

A permanent move remains unlikely in January, considering the Frenchman still has over three years left on his Parc des Princes deal and reportedly earns around £200,000 per week.

Tottenham have yet to sign any outfield players in January after securing promising goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, but are reportedly targeting multiple reinforcements to boost their push for European spots this season.

Spurs are currently 12th in the Premier League table, having won just once in their last eight games, and will next face Arsenal in a feisty North London derby on Wednesday.

Tottenham 'Hold Talks' Over Signing Man Utd's Marcus Rashford

Submitted by daniel on
Picture

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are exploring an ambitious loan move to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in the January transfer window, according to The Independent's Miguel Delaney.

Rashford appears to be heading through the exit door at Old Trafford after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim. The England international hasn't featured in over a month for the Red Devils, last starting a Premier League game on 1st December against Everton.

Despite Rashford being a regular for the Red Devils for many years now, Amorim has stamped his authority since arriving through the door. Rashford has made just one matchday squad in the last month, and he failed to come off the bench in that one.

Reporter Delaney of The Independent has now claimed that Tottenham have held informal talks about signing Rashford on loan this winter. Delaney suggests that there is a growing feeling that Rashford has played his final game for the club, but a move to Tottenham is still considered unlikely despite his uncertain future.

The United academy graduate is earning over £300k-a-week at Old Trafford, which makes a sale extremely complicated. Clubs will likely be unwilling to pay his hefty salary, especially when you consider his lack of form in recent years. A departure would only be possible if United agree to contribute some of his wages and he departs on loan.

There's no doubt a prime Rashford would be an impressive signing for Spurs if they were able to get a deal over the line, considering his versatility, pace, and eye for goal. Unfortunately, he's failed to hit the heights expected of him in the last few seasons, meaning the £300k-a-week package would be unjustifiable for many interested parties.

If United can contribute a significant percentage of Rashford's wages and a manager is confident that they are able to get him back to his best, then it wouldn't be a surprise to see him head through the exit door in the January transfer window. His future appears to lie away from Old Trafford after falling out of favour under new manager Amorim.

Fabrizio Romano Shares Transfer Updates on Tottenham, Arsenal and Man Utd

I've provided updates on Arsenal's business for the rest of the month, Manchester United and Luke Shaw, and what we could see from Tottenham in the window.

Your friends can sign up for our newsletter here to enjoy exclusive stories you won't find anywhere else. Here we go!

If you've got your own questions you want to ask me, you can submit them in time for Wednesday's edition.

Nico Williams is one of the most appreciated players on Arsenal's list, for sure. Mikel Arteta and the management love his skills and potential. But again, the financial package is very expensive also in terms of salary, commission... it's not an easy one at all for January.

What is Man Utd and Ruben Amorim's stance on Luke Shaw, as they are linked to the likes of Nuno Mendes?

I don't see any movement for Luke Shaw in January, it's quiet at the moment. In the summer there could be changes, but now it's quiet. In any case, Man United are looking for a LWB because Shaw and Tyrell Malacia had many problems so that position could be covered.

Are Tottenham in the market in January for further additions, or is Randal Kolo Muani their only priority target for now?

Yes, they are. I'm expecting more signings, after Antonin Kinsky. Kolo Muani is a top priority but Juventus are there also, and Man United also called to be informed on the situation. But there could be more for Spurs, at least one more.

Real Madrid Readying Bid to Sign 'Phenomenal' Tottenham Star

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Tottenham Hotspur starlet Archie Gray's performances have been superb this season, fitting seamlessly into a north London backline that has been decimated by injuries throughout the campaign - but that could form a bid from Real Madrid, according to reports.

Gray has been thrust right into the deep end under Ange Postecoglou, with almost their entire defensive line being ruled out of action with injury, and having excelled at centre-back, right-back and in midfield, the young England starlet has rightfully drawn praise for his performances. But that has garnered interest from elsewhere, with Real Madrid in the market for his signature.

Report: Real Madrid 'Willing' to Make Archie Gray Bid

Tottenham star Gray has one of their shining lights this season

The report from Fichajes states that Madrid are continuing to show interest in signing young players with great potential, and one name that has recently emerged in recent days is Gray - with Los Blancos having set their sights on the talented Englishman.

Recent reports have stated that Madrid chiefs would be willing to make an offer of €50million (£43million) to sign him in the upcoming January transfer window, with Gray having been one of the standout players in Tottenham's Premier League season - showing maturity and versatility so far this season. His performances and ability to control the midfield, alongside linking up with forwards, and even playing in defence have attracted interest from various clubs, with Madrid being one of those.

The Spanish outfit are known for their long-term transfer policy, having signed players such as Jude Bellingham, Endrick and Vinicius Junior in recent seasons, and they would be willing to bid a higher amount, with £43million currently on the table.

Madrid see him as an 'ideal' signing, and if the offer is accepted, Gray, who was described as ‘phenomenal’, would make the leap to a side who value young talent whilst also being the best club in Europe, having won the Champions League in the summer, where he will play alongside fellow compatriot Bellingham and other top youngsters.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Archie Gray scored on his England under-21 debut at the age of just 18 years and 12 days old.

Tottenham paid around £30million for his services from Leeds United in the summer, having sent Joe Rodon the other way, and whether Daniel Levy would accept such a bid remains to be seen - but interest from Europe's most successful club is likely to cloud over.
