How Tottenham can line up in dream scenario after £4.5bn takeover and January spending spree - The Mirror
Description

Tottenham could reportedly have new billionaire owners in the near future, which could have a major impact on Thomas Frank's starting line-up following the January transfer window

Tottenham could field a new-look starting line-up next season if their reported billionaire takeover goes through before the January transfer window. The north London club has been owned by ENIC and the Lewis family since 2001, but that could all be about to change.

Former DJ and tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick is reportedly heading a 12-man group, who are said to have launched a world-record takeover bid of £4.5billion to take control of the club.

The consortium are said to have offered £3.3bn to buy out the entire club while putting another £1.2bn aside for a ‘player budget’ - in other words, new signings.

That kind of money would make sleeping giants Tottenham a force in the Premier League and in Europe, should it be spent wisely in the upcoming transfer windows.

And Mirror Football now brings you a potential XI which Tottenham could field in a dream scenario following the January transfer window.

Guglielmo Vicario

The 28-year-old is now in his third season as Spurs’ first-choice goalkeeper. He has delivered solid performances between the sticks, but the Italian has also been criticised for his suspect handling of crosses into the penalty box and his shaky skills with the ball at his feet.

Nevertheless, he is still a solid option and his relatively young age for a keeper means there is room for improvement. Most importantly, the goalkeeper market is currently underwhelming, though Spurs would certainly be keeping their eyes peeled on any potential upgrades in the future.

Pedro Porro

Pedro Porro has quietly become one of Spurs’ most consistent performers since his arrival in 2023 and is certainly one of the current players good enough to keep as a starter, even with big money potentially at their disposal. The Spaniard has caught the eye with his impact on both ends of the pitch, offering an attacking threat while still impressing with his defensive responsibilities.

Cristian Romero

Argentine stalwart Cristian Romero is the heart of the Spurs defence. Despite sometimes being criticised for his overly-aggressive style, there is a reason why the likes of Barcelona have been linked with the World Cup winning centre-back.

Now captaining Frank’s side and still just 27 years old, Romero is a key figure in the dressing room and would be pivotal in a transitional period under the new ownership, marshalling the younger players and helping any new signings to settle in.

Marc Guehi

The first exciting addition to our new-look Spurs team is Crystal Palace skipper Marc Guehi. The reliable England international was on the brink of sealing a transfer to Liverpool on transfer deadline day but the move broke down at the last minute, with Palace deciding to keep the defender.

Guehi has since been linked with Real Madrid, who he could join as a free agent at the end of this season, but an exciting Spurs project could tempt him into remaining in London. Tottenham were linked heavily with Guehi last January but reportedly had a £70m bid rejected. But there is a possibility that the north Londoners can secure his signature for a cut-price in a few months' time.

Djed Spence

Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie are two very promising existing options that Spurs have at their disposal. Having been on the periphery early on in his time with the club, Spence enjoyed a breakthrough last season while the brilliant Udogie was injured.

They provide very different attributes for different occasions, which is very useful for the manager. An underrated aspect of keeping Spence is the full-back being one of Spurs’ few homegrown players, which threatens to cause the club problems in Europe.

Lucas Bergvall

Bringing in Lucas Bergvall for a mere £8.5m from Sweden last year seems more of a masterstroke with each passing day. The 19-year-old became a key player last term as an all-action midfielder, winning the Europa League and earning several internal club awards in the process.

The youngster continues to go from strength-to-strength and has more than earned a shot at keeping his place once Spurs look to bring in new additions.

Kobbie Mainoo

If recent reports are anything to go by, Kobbie Mainoo is a man desperate to get out of Manchester United. The Red Devils academy graduate enjoyed a fast start to life at Old Trafford, scoring an FA Cup winner and earning his first England caps, but has since fallen out of favour with head coach Ruben Amorim.

With the likes of Chelsea and Napoli interested in his services, the 20-year-old reportedly made it clear that he wanted to leave United in the summer but the club blocked his departure. His increasing frustration and failure to agree a new deal in Manchester could allow Spurs the perfect opportunity to swoop in with the promise of reigniting his career.

Xavi Simons

Xavi Simons was a statement signing this summer, with the highly-rated Dutchman arriving for a fee of £51m from RB Leipzig after Spurs missed out on Eberechi Eze to rivals Arsenal. Simons is already turning heads with his ability to unlock defences and clever movement in-between the lines. The 22-year-old notched his first assist in the away win over West Ham and has plenty more to offer in north London.

Mohammed Kudus

Another summer addition was Mohammed Kudus, albeit far more controversially given his ties to the Hammers. The £55m Ghanaian is highly versatile, able to switch with Simons behind the striker but equally devastating on the right flank. He is proving to be a shrewd acquisition despite his price tag, notching four assists already in just five league appearances.

Harry Kane

Harry Kane’s departure from Tottenham was heart-breaking for the fans. But two years on, the England captain has achieved his dream of winning silverware with Bayern Munich.

Despite seemingly enjoying life in the Bundesliga and scoring goals for fun, it recently emerged that the 32-year-old has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave the German club for a reduced fee of £56.7m next summer. However, he would reportedly need to inform Bayern of his desire to leave before the end of the upcoming January transfer window.

Spurs’ new ownership would have to move fast to complete their takeover before then to signal their intent to Kane. And while he wouldn't arrive in January, he technically would have agreed to sign by then.

Kane is still believed to be eyeing Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record, which could aid the club’s chances of completing a deal. And there are no question marks about his ability, with Kane still being regarded as one of the world’s elite centre-forwards.

Rafael Leao

With the departure of Son Heung-min, there is scope for a world class left-winger like Rafael Leao to arrive and devastate opposition defences for the Lilywhites. Spurs were linked with the electric Portuguese winger towards the end of the recent summer window, but the 26-year-old ended up staying put.

Leao missed the start of this season due to a calf injury but is now back in full training. And there is now doubting his skill, having ended last term with 12 goals and 13 assists in 50 appearances.

He is under contract until 2028, meaning Milan would demand a hefty sum. But such a talismanic player would be the perfect chance for the club’s new ownership to bring about a new era. It would immediately signal their ambition and financial might, in a similar vein to Manchester City’s signing of Robinho in 2008.

Who is Brooklyn Earick? Ex-DJ and NASA employee who's 'launched' £4.5bn Tottenham takeover bid

Wannabe Tottenham Hotspur owner Brooklyn Earick has led a varied life that has seen him DJ around the world, work for NASA and become a successful tech entrepreneur

The businessman reportedly spearheading a bid to buy Tottenham Hotspur ditched DJing for NASA before becoming a tech entrepreneur. The Sun reports a consortium headed by American Brooklyn Earick is looking to buy the club, weeks after two expressions of interest were rejected by Spurs’ majority owners ENIC, which is run by the Lewis family.

Talks between Earick and the club are said to have started while ex-chairman Daniel Levy was still at the helm but have accelerated since his shock departure was announced earlier this month.

The 12-man consortium, which reportedly includes NFL and NBA investors, are willing to spend £4.5billion on the club, £3.3bn on buying out ENIC and the Lewis family, plus £1.2bn transfers, which could could be made available as soon as January. That overall figure would surpass the record £4.25bn the consortium led by Todd Boehly paid to buy Chelsea in 2022. But who is Earick and why is he targeting Spurs?

Who is Brooklyn Earick?

Earick, 41, has led a varied life, to say the least. He spent around a decade as a DJ and music producer, performing around North America and in Europe while also developing a love for football.

He said in 2011: “It’s crazy how big electronic music is everywhere. I always relate it to soccer. Soccer is massive everywhere else in the world, and it’s just starting to gain a little steam here in the US. It’s kind of the same with electronic music.”

However, after becoming “burnt out” by the music scene, he made a drastic career change by getting a job at NASA as an electrical engineer. Speaking in an interview in 2016, he explained: “I spent the better part of a decade as a DJ and music producer. I’ve played shows all over the U.S, Canada, the Caribbean and Europe, from LA to NYC to London to Ibiza.

“I’m very fortunate to have done that for as long as I did, but I was definitely burnt out towards the end. So I hung up the headphones, moved to San Francisco and landed an internship at NASA Ames as an electrical engineer in the small spacecraft division.

“NASA is where I was first exposed to computer programming. I quickly realised how powerful it was, and loved the fact that if you had an idea, you could open your computer and start it right away. So I started taking online courses for both coding and design, reading books and brainstorming ideas.”

The skills he gained working at NASA inspired his next career change into the tech industry, where he worked on a variety of projects and formed high-level contacts.

Earick founded Redacted RnD, which describes itself as “a thought leader in blockchain innovation and digital assets.” Blockchain is a way of selling and recording digital currency, like Crypto. He also has a technology-focused investment fund called Algorith Capital.

Earlier this year, he was on the verge of buying the Maserati MSG Formula E team, but the deal fell through.

Why Tottenham?

Last season’s Europa League triumph aside, Spurs have been starved of success on the pitch. However, off it, the club is a roaring success thanks to its stunning stadium, regarded as one of the best sporting arenas on the planet.

Spurs make an estimated £4.8m from each matchday, with commercial revenue up a colossal 237 per cent compared to the last full season at the old White Hart Lane.

There is also the London factor, which is undoubtedly a pull for wannabe owners from overseas. A source close to Earick told the Sun: “Brooklyn and his team think everything is in place at Tottenham already.

“Spurs has a world-class stadium and training ground, the infrastructure is all in place. But with the investment they are ready to make, it will be the final step to turn the club into winners on the pitch as well.”

Spurs’ takeover stance

A club statement at the start of September said “Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale” after Amanda Staveley’s PCP International Finance and a consortium of investors led by Dr Roger Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited were revealed to be interested in acquiring the north London club.

ENIC owns 87 per cent of Spurs, but due to the remaining shares being publicly traded, the club is subject to the UK Takeover Code. Therefore, any expression of interest or bid must be lodged with the Takeover Code panel and made public.

It is understood that the Lewis family trust has not been made aware of any consortium being ready to buy Tottenham. A source close to the Lewis family has reiterated that the club is not for sale.

Tottenham takeover latest as £3.3bn claim made amid Joe Lewis stance - The Mirror
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are the subject of takeover interest, potentially for a record £4.5bn, from an American consortium spearheaded by businessman Brooklyn Earick

Tottenham Hotspur are in the spotlight with a staggering £4.5bn takeover bid on the table, which could set new records. The North London club has caught the attention of an American consortium spearheaded by businessman Brooklyn Earick.

As first reported by The Sun, tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick is heading up a consortium that has made an approach to buy the club and is trying to persuade the current owners, the Lewis family, to sell. With Daniel Levy recently stepping down, it is a time of change in North London.

Indeed, it has been a summer of transformation at the club. Last season, Ange Postecoglou guided Tottenham to the Europa League, but he was replaced by new manager Thomas Frank. Frank has since steered Spurs to a promising start to the new season. With all this in mind, we take a look at the latest developments on a potential takeover.

£4.5bn bid

The Sun suggests that American businessman Brooklyn Earick is leading a takeover bid for Tottenham. He's reportedly assembled a 12-man team to seal the deal.

They're said to be willing to pay £3.3bn, with an additional £1.2bn earmarked for investment, including transfers, wages and more. As an added incentive, Earick has already secured a lucrative £250m stadium naming rights deal.

Spurs' Stance

However, sources close to the Lewis family, who run Tavistock, the company behind ENIC, insist that their stance has not changed and that the club is not for sale.

Additionally, it's understood the family have NOT received a bid from Earick's consortium or an expression of interest at this point.

Levy's departure confirmed

A potential deal is in the offing following a period of significant change at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Earlier this year, former chief Daniel Levy left the club, sparking rumours that a takeover might be on the horizon.

At the time, Levy stated: "I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees.

"We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level. More than that, we have built a community. I was lucky enough to work with some of the greatest people in this sport, from the team at Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way to all the players and managers over the years.

"I wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years. It hasn't always been an easy journey but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately."

Spurs 'not for sale'

However, Earick isn't the only one eyeing a dramatic move for Tottenham. Former Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley has also been named as a possible contender, potentially alongside a bid with PCP. Despite this, Spurs announced earlier this month that they had rejected two offers to buy the club, confirming that they were not for sale.

A statement confirmed that offers had been "received, and unequivocally rejected, separate preliminary expressions of interest in relation to proposals to acquire the entire issued, and to be issued, share capital of ENIC from (i) PCP International Finance... and (ii) a consortium of investors led by Dr. Roger Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited".

The statement further clarified: "The Board of the Club and ENIC confirm that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale and ENIC has no intention to accept any such offer to acquire its interest in the Club."

Tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick is heading a 12-man group looking to purchase the Premier League club, whose owners, ENIC, also recently rejected two informal approaches for their majority share in the club

Tottenham Hotspur's owners are maintaining their stance that the north London club is NOT for sale. It comes amid reports that a US-based consortium has launched a takeover bid worth a massive £4.5billion

As first reported by The Sun, tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick is heading up a consortium that has made an approach to buy the club. It comes a matter of weeks after Spurs owners ENIC rejected two informal approaches to bid for their majority share of the Premier League outfit.

Earick, a former DJ, failed earlier this year in a bid to acquire Formula E team Maserati. He is fronting a £3.3bn takeover bid from a 12-strong group including NFL and NBA investors, with a further £1.2bn set aside as transfer funds. The total package would top the £4.25bn takeover of Chelsea from Todd Boehly and his investment group in 2022.

However, sources close to the Lewis family, who run Tavistock, the company behind ENIC, insist that their stance has not changed and that the club is not for sale.

Additionally, it's understood the family have NOT received a bid from Earick's consortium or an expression of interest at this point.

ENIC owns 87 per cent of the Lilywhites, but due to the remaining shares being publicly traded, the club is beholden to the UK takeover code. That states that any expression of interest or bid must be lodged with the takeover code panel and made public, which has not been the case at this point.

It all comes amid huge changes at the club, led by the exit of long-time executive chairman Daniel Levy, who departed after 24 years at the helm following an internal review pushed through by the Lewis family.

Earlier this month an Asian consortium of investors led by Dr Roger Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited indicated an informal intention to make an offer for Spurs on the day Levy departed.

Amanda Staveley and PCP International Finance Ltd are also believed to have shown enough interest, without making an actual indication of a forthcoming bid, all of which triggered takeover panel rules on disclosure.

PCP later made it clear that they would not be making an offer and in a statement triggered by the takeover interest, Spurs confirmed at the time that ENIC had "received and unequivocally rejected separate preliminary expressions of interest" to acquire their entire stake in the club.

They stated then: "The board of the club and ENIC confirm that Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale and ENIC has no intention to accept any such offer to acquire its interest in the club."

Arsenal icon Ian Wright makes feelings clear on Harry Kane to Tottenham transfer

Description

Harry Kane could make an emotional return to Tottenham in the summer after it was revealed the England captain has a £54million exit clause in his contract at Bayern Munich

Arsenal icon Ian Wright has weighed in on the speculation surrounding Harry Kane's potential move to Tottenham from Bayern Munich - backing the striker to complete an emotional return.

Kane, 32, left his boyhood club for Germany in the summer of 2023 for a hefty £86million, but rumours are swirling that he could return to Spurs just two years later for a significantly reduced fee of just over £54m. An exit clause in Kane's contract can be triggered if he expresses his desire to return to Tottenham in January.

Kane lifted his first career trophy last season as Bayern clinched the Bundesliga title, while Spurs celebrated their own victory in the Europa League final shortly after. Despite netting an impressive 280 goals in 435 appearances for Spurs, silverware eluded Kane.

Of those goals, 213 were scored in the Premier League, leaving him just 48 shy of surpassing Alan Shearer as the all-time top goal scorer in England's top-flight. As speculation around Kane's future intensifies, Wright has tipped the Three Lions captain to return to Spurs and break the record.

"Not just for the [Premier League] record but to finish off and see if he can be part of a team that wins something at Tottenham," Wright said on the Overlap. "Obviously they won the Europa [League].

"But for him and his legacy to be at Tottenham and maybe win something and the end of it and then go on to maybe get the goals. I think if Harry Kane comes back next season, he'll break that record I think."

Spurs boss Thomas Frank has recently shared his thoughts on a potential transfer for Kane, praising the player's performances at both Spurs and Bayern. "He is an unbelievable player who did fantastic for Spurs and is doing fantastic for Bayern," said Frank.

"Top player. I think there's a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself, who would like to see Kane back. Personally, I don't think he will do it right now if I'm honest.

"He'll probably stay in Bayern and continue performing well. He was top scorer last year, won the championship and he's doing fantastic now."

Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl also gave his view on a potential return to Spurs for Kane, saying: "I think that at his age he is still making huge progress as a personality on the pitch.

"At Tottenham, of course, we all knew him from scoring goals but I think the way he's playing football in this team right now, not just scoring goals, but as a player, as a leader on the pitch and sacrificing himself for the team shows what I've been saying.

"He wants to win titles, that's what hunger is. He can do that with us, we want to do that with him. He's old enough to make his own decisions, whether he has a clause or not.

"If he says, 'I want to make a decision', as he showed at Tottenham, then he will make that decision. But of course, our wish is to have a very, very successful season with him and in the future."

Description

Former DJ and tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick is heading a 12-man group that has launched a world-record £4.5billion takeover bid for Tottenham, it has been claimed.

Earick and his partners are offering £3.3bn to buy out the entire club from owners ENIC and the Lewis family, reports The Sun, with a further £1.2bn earmarked for spending on players.

The 41-year-old has assembled a group including NFL and NBA investors to back his vision for the north London club. Earick has a 'Tottenham 3.0' blueprint that envisages a huge investment to the playing side.

He has also lined up a potential £250million stadium naming rights deal. The total package would exceed the £4.25bn record for a football club paid by the Todd Boehly-led consortium that brought Chelsea in 2022.

A source told The Sun: "Brooklyn and his team think everything is in place at Tottenham already. Spurs has a world class stadium and training ground, the infrastructure is all in place. But with the investment they are ready to make, it will be the final step to turn the club into winners on the pitch as well."

It's claimed that Earick is thought to have started initial discussion with the Tottenham board - including former chairman Daniel Levy - a couple of months ago.

Despite Earick's proposed bid, Tottenham's majority shareholder ENIC is adamant the club is not for sale, despite Levy's departure earlier this month. Spurs confirmed on September 4 that Levy has stepped down from his role as Executive Chairman after 25 years in the role.

In a statement at the time, Levy said: "I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees. We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level.

"More than that, we have built a community. I was lucky enough to work with some of the greatest people in this sport, from the team at Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way to all the players and managers over the years.

What channel is Tottenham vs Doncaster on? Live stream and kick-off information

Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur take on League One's Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup third round, with Rovers facing a monumental task as they make the trip to north London

Tottenham are set to welcome Doncaster Rovers to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they kick off their EFL Cup campaign. Spurs bypassed the first two rounds of the competition due to their participation in European football this season.

Thomas Frank’s Lilywhites have enjoyed a strong start to the 2025/26 season, sealing four wins, a draw and one loss across all competitions so far. The League Cup marks one of their best chances to add to their trophy cabinet after ending a 17-year silverware drought last season, with their Danish manager still looking for his first career trophy.

Spurs most recently came from two goals behind to seal a dramatic 2-2 Premier League draw at Brighton. And the four-time winners of the competition will no doubt be favourites to beat Doncaster this time around.

Their League One opponents are currently level on points with Barnsley and Huddersfield Town in the playoff spots, having won five and lost three already this campaign. Grant McCann’s side have already beaten Middlesbrough and Accrington Stanley in their first two EFL Cup fixtures. Here, we bring you all the details you need to tune into the upcoming EFL Cup third round clash this week.

What time is Tottenham vs Doncaster?

Spurs will begin their League Cup campaign on Wednesday, September 24, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in front of nearly 63,000 supporters.

Kick off has been scheduled for 7.45pm BST, while coverage gets underway at 7.40pm.

What channel is Tottenham vs Doncaster on?

The match will be broadcast live in the UK on the Sky Sports+ channel, where more than 1000 league, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy games will be shown throughout the season.

Fans who are Sky Sports subscribers will also be able to catch the action on the Sky Sports app at no extra cost.

Key moments, including goals and potential red cards, will be posted on the Sky Sports' X account. Highlights will also be shown on the Sky Sports app after full-time, as well as ITV4 at 11.45am the following morning.

What's the Tottenham vs Doncaster team news?

There are not expected to be any major changes in Frank’s Spurs set-up as James Maddison (ACL), Radu Dragusin (ACL), Dejan Kulusevski (knee), Kota Takai (foot), Yves Bissouma (knock) and Dominic Solanke (ankle) remain sidelined with injury. Yet, Randal Kolo Muani and Ben Davies should be back from their respective dead leg and knee twist.

Frank still has plenty of options to shuffle the pack and give his key players a break for Wednesday’s game, where Antonin Kinsky, Archie Gray, Kevin Danso, Mathys Tel and Dane Scarlett could start.

On the injury front for Rovers, midfielder Harry Clifton recently suffered a hamstring tear in the loss to Wigan, and McCann expects the 27-year-old to miss around six weeks of action. Damola Ajayi, the 19-year-old Spurs winger who is currently on loan at Doncaster, will be ineligible to face his parent club on Wednesday night.

Tottenham have confirmed that Andrew Ashcroft, the son of billionaire Lord Michael Ashcroft, has acquired a 3.4 per cent stake in the Premier League club

In the latest shake-up at Tottenham, Andrew Ashcroft, son of former Conservative Party deputy chairman and billionaire donor Lord Ashcroft, has snapped up a 3.4 per cent stake in the north London club.

The London Stock Exchange revealed in a public filing on Monday that Andrew purchased 8,023,942 Tottenham shares last Friday. The exact price hasn't been disclosed yet, but based on recent valuations, it's estimated to be around a whopping £100million.

Lord Ashcroft, who was bestowed with his title in 2000, is no stranger to Tottenham, having previously owned about 4 per cent of the club. It remains unclear whether he's passed on his existing shares to his son, or if the family have nearly doubled their stake by buying from minority shareholders, who collectively own 13.42 per cent of Spurs.

Despite the departure of Daniel Levy earlier this month, Tottenham's majority shareholder ENIC has maintained the club isn't on the market. On September 4, Spurs confirmed that Levy had stepped down from his role as Executive Chairman after a quarter-century stint.

Reflecting on his tenure, Levy stated: "I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees. We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level.

"More than that, we have built a community. I was lucky enough to work with some of the greatest people in this sport, from the team at Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way to all the players and managers over the years.

"I wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years. It hasn't always been an easy journey but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately."

Levy has since been succeeded by Peter Charrington, a long-standing adviser to the Lewis family who control ENIC, taking over as non-executive chairman.

Earlier in the summer, Vinai Venkatesham was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), while Thomas Frank joined as the club's new men's head coach and Martin Ho was brought in as women's head coach in a series of major overhauls throughout Tottenham ahead of the new campaign.

Following Levy's departure, Tottenham subsequently revealed they had turned down two initial expressions of interest in purchasing the club from Amanda Staveley's PCP Capital Partners and an American/Chinese consortium headed by Roger Kennedy and Firehawk Holdings Limited.

Under takeover panel regulations, Spurs must stay within the official offer period until October 5, when PCP can submit a final formal bid for the club.

The Football Association of Wales has reportedly been in contact with Tottenham winger Mikey Moore over the possibility of switching his international allegiance from England

Wales are reportedly making a play for Tottenham's highly-rated winger Mikey Moore, in an attempt to persuade him to switch his international allegiance from England.

The BBC reports that the Football Association of Wales has already reached out to the 18-year-old, who is currently on loan at Rangers from Premier League side Spurs.

It's suggested that head coach Craig Bellamy is particularly interested in the prospect of bringing Moore into the fold, and it's believed he has also had a chat with the London-born player, who qualifies for Wales through a grandparent.

Moore holds the record as the youngest player to have ever played for Spurs in the Premier League, having made his debut at just 16 years and 277 days old, coming off the bench in a 2-0 loss to Manchester City in May 2024.

He also smashed Jimmy Greaves' record by becoming the youngest English scorer in a major European competition, scoring against Elfsborg during the club's successful Europa League campaign last season, reports Wales Online.

Moore has represented England up to under-19 level, scoring three goals in 11 games for the young Three Lions. If he decides to make the switch, he will be following in the footsteps of players like Jordan James and David Brooks, both of whom chose to represent Wales after spending time in the English system.

The winger has featured six times across all competitions for Rangers this campaign, though his spell at Ibrox has been marked by a challenging beginning, with the club still searching for their first Scottish Premiership victory this term.

The youngster's position in the starting XI has come under fire from supporters as a result, but he continues to be regarded as a promising talent.

Manager Russell Martin, who is facing mounting pressure after his team's disappointing start to the season, has previously endorsed Moore as a player destined for greatness.

"We are thrilled to bring Mikey on loan for this season," he said after the club completed the move.

"His profile as a brave, aggressive attacking player is one that we were keen to add to the squad, and he is certainly a player who, despite his age, can make an impact on the team from day one.

"He is a player with huge potential, and it is testament to his quality that he has been entrusted by Spurs in both the Premier League and UEFA Europa League with such regularity over the last 18 months."

An equally enthusiastic Spurs manager Thomas Frank commented: "Mikey is a big talent. I'm really excited about his future here at Tottenham. I think for all players but especially younger players they need consistent first-team football into their bodies.

"I think if we can find the right option we will do that."

Wales are gearing up for a significant international break next month, with an away friendly against England scheduled for October 9, followed by a crucial World Cup qualifier against Belgium just four days later.

Bellamy is set to announce his squad for these two matches next Tuesday.

Tottenham defender claims he 'broke bone' before netting first goal of season

Tottenham centre-back Luka Vuskovic scored his first goal of the season on loan at Hamburger SV on Saturday but the Croatian teenager claims he suffered a suspected broken finger just before finding the net

Spurs defender Luka Vuskovic fears he broke his finger before bagging his maiden goal of the campaign whilst on loan at Hamburger SV.

The promising Croatian centre-half officially became a Tottenham player in July after a £12million deal was agreed with Hajduk Split for his services back in September 2023.

The 18-year-old featured throughout pre-season under Thomas Frank, scoring and providing an assist in a 2-0 friendly triumph over League One outfit Reading, before moving to HSV in late August.

He has now opened his account in the Bundesliga after hitting the back of the net in Saturday's 2-1 home triumph against Heidenheim.

Nevertheless, Vuskovic has now disclosed he believes he may have fractured his finger when striking his right hand against the post in anger after squandering an opportunity in the 27th minute.

The youngster told German publication Hamburger Morgenpost following the match: "I probably broke a finger. It's an old injury; I broke my finger a few months ago. But I was so angry about missing such a great opportunity that I hit the post with my hand. It will heal, don't worry."

Vuskovic also reflected after netting his maiden strike, stating: "I'm very proud, very emotional, and hope it wasn't my last goal. I just hoped the goal wouldn't be taken back."

The issue was clearly nothing serious as his goal came just 18 minutes after he hammered the woodwork in frustration.

His elder sibling, Mario, also plays for Hamburg but is currently sidelined due to a doping suspension that runs until November 2026.

Nevertheless, the Spurs starlet has been warmly embraced by the HSV supporters, especially after he rejected numerous other European loan opportunities to join the German outfit.

He added when quizzed about his bond with his sibling: "This means a lot to me. Ever since I started playing football, he's wished me good luck before every game. I'm really proud to have a brother like that."

Tottenham made it plain they refused to include a purchase clause in the loan deal with Hamburg as they believe the young talent has a bright future in north London.

Spurs boss Frank is understood to have considered retaining Vuskovic in his squad this term but ultimately, the club determined he needed to play regular football and that wasn't on offer in N17.

Last season, Vuskovic was loaned to KVC Westerlo in Belgium, where he found the net seven times in 36 Jupiler Pro League outings.
