Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero has suffered a new injury blow and will be out of action for six weeks.

That’s according to D Sports and TyC Sports, and they provide the latest on the 26-year-old’s situation.

After November’s international break, he missed three league game for Tottenham due to a toe injury.

The centre-back returned to action in Spurs’ 4-3 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday but had to be withdrawn after 15 minutes.

D Sport state the Argentina international underwent tests and the results ‘didn’t have any good news’ for him. Journalist Fernando Czyz provided this information, and he states the defender will be sidelined for six to seven weeks.

This means the South American remains doubtful to feature for Tottenham until the end of January.

There were suggestions the Tottenham player had damaged his toe again, which troubled him over the past weeks.

TyC Sports have ruled this out and insist Romero has suffered a new injury blow, with a ‘muscle injury to the quadriceps’. They further add he will be on the sidelines for six weeks.

Both reports state Romero is ‘torn’, and his setback is a blow for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur signed Yago de Santiago from Celta Vigo in 2019, taking the local Vigo boy from the club’s youth system.

Despite being pulled into first team training by Antonio Conte, and signing a fresh deal with Spurs in 2023, he wasn’t able to make enough of a breakthrough and decided to try his luck back in Spanish football.

In July of this year he signed up with Elche in Spain’s second division, and is now starting to make the impact he will have hoped for when deciding to leave the Premier League club.

He’s played 12 league matches for Celta Vigo so far, and has found the back of the net on three occasions. Two of those goals came against Cadiz in a comeback victory on Saturday, and the local media is singing the youngster’s praises.

On Wednesday, Super Deporte reported Getafe are ready to negotiate for Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilón in the winter market.

It was also explained the right-back must now decide whether to leave in January or next summer when his deal expires.

Estadio Deportivo relay Super Deporte’s claim and then provide their own updates on Getafe interest and the Tottenham player’s plans.

Reguilón hasn’t made an appearance this season and wants to leave Tottenham. Getafe’s negotiations are still in the ’embryonic phase’ but they can take advantage of the Spaniard’s desire to change clubs.

The 27-year-old could potentially finish the season without playing a single minute if he were to stay at Spurs. The report says he wants to avoid this scenario ‘at all costs’, indicating his firm desire to leave in January.

Getafe know it won’t be easy but are ‘confident that they can close the deal’ for Reguilón either on loan or via a permanent transfer. They can sign him permanently if Tottenham were to terminate his deal in January.

Reguilón is on the ‘exit ramp’ at Tottenham and a move back to Spain can help him revive his career.

On Tuesday, we covered claims from Italy which stated Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Juventus’ Nicolò Fagioli.

Tuttosport bring up Tottenham’s interest in the 23-year-old and suggest they’d have a much better chance now than in the past.

The midfielder has clocked in less than 700 minutes from 15 games in all competition this season. He hasn’t managed to fully convince Juve manager Thiago Motta and could change clubs in the winter market.

Fagioli and his agent are listening to offers from clubs outside Italy, and the Serie A side will only let him leave on a permanent transfer for €25m.

Marseille have shown interest but don’t have the necessary funds to meet the Turin club’s demands. The Italy international also has admirers in the Premier League, and Spurs are mentioned.

It’s explained Tottenham’s interest isn’t new as they moved to sign the player in the past. Juventus then refused to let Fagioli leave as he was ‘untransferable’, but that is no longer the case.

Tuttosport state Tottenham can ‘return to the flame’ for the Italian and have a chance to secure Fagioli’s services for €25m in January.

AFC Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert should consider a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the future.

That’s according to former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam, and he backs the 25-year-old to join Tottenham.

Stam mentions Tottenham when discussing the Bournemouth star during Viaplay podcast Weijland & Stam, and his comments are relayed by Voetbal Primeur.

Last weekend, the attacking midfielder scored a hat-trick in Bournemouth’s 4-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He scored five goals and two assists from 13 league games this season and his displays for the Cherries helped him make an appearance for the Netherlands earlier this month, for the first time in over six years.

Stam is of the belief the former AS Roma man is ready to leave Bournemouth and insists Tottenham could be the right club for him.

Koen Weijland asked Stam if Kulivert is ‘ready for a step up’. Responding to that, he said: “He could be. A team like Spurs could be a nice next step, I think.

“Eventually maybe even higher, but if you start looking in steps: he has to hold on to it, of course. You have to stay at a certain level then, you have to keep making an impact at the club. Eventually you will then stand out in the English league.”

The Netherlands international’s contract at Bournemouth lasts until 2028.

Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace are in the picture to sign Juventus’s Nicolò Fagioli, according to Tutto Juve.

The 23-year-old came up through the ranks of the Serie A side’s youth system but hasn’t managed to cement a place in their starting lineup so far. After clocking in 439 minutes from eight games last season, he managed 683 minutes from 15 games this season.

This hasn’t stopped him from attracting the attention of Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Marseille.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have been following the midfielder and will face competition from the Premier League. Tottenham and Crystal Palace entered the scene, and the two London clubs are showing interest in the Italy international.

The Serie A side consider it too early to talk about a potential deal. At the same time, the report states if the Turin club were to receive an ‘appropriate offer’, they’ll study it.

There’s no mention of any figures or if Spurs or the Eagles are willing to make an offer for Fagioli. The Premier League duo can unlock the deal for him by making an offer to Juve.

A move away from Juventus could help the player enjoy regular game time, but whether Tottenham or Crystal Palace could provide those opportunities remains to be seen.

Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi has ended up on Tottenham Hotspur’s agenda for the winter market.

That’s according to Spazio Inter, who cover Tottenham’s interest in the 25-year-old when discussing the Serie A side’s plans for January.

The midfielder arrived at the San Siro from Sassuolo in the summer and has played 16 games this season, of which six were starts. His role at Inter hasn’t impacted his place for Italy, where he continues to be a starter.

There could be developments in his situation, likely because of Tottenham’s interest. The report claims Ange Postecoglou’s side would be ready to offer €35m for Frattesi.

It’s claimed Tottenham’s proposal puts Inter in a dilemma on whether to hold on to him or cash in from his sale.

The Nerazzurri consider Frattesi a ‘high-level prospect’ and an important asset, despite his limited game time this season. Inter officials ‘could push’ the Italian towards the exit door to ‘seriously evaluate an offer of this magnitude’.

Frattesi’s contract lasts until 2028 and he’s highly appreciated by Simone Inzaghi. He could oppose the sale, but Inter’s final decision would depend on their economic conditions.

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been successfully operated on in Pisa, Italy at the Casa di Cura San Rossore, for the ankle injury he suffered against Manchester City.

That’s according to Sportface.it, who cover comments from the man who performed the surgery, Profess Niek Van Dijk.

Vicario revealed over the weekend that he had played through the pain in the 4-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday, explaining that he had suffered a broken ankle which would require surgery.

This was later confirmed by Tottenham, with manager Ange Postecoglou expecting the Italian goalkeeper to be on the sidelines for months with the injury.

Reports have since detailed that Vicario was scheduled for surgery on the issue this week, while Tottenham work out what they’ll do without their number one for an extender period of time.

Sportface confirm that surgery has taken place in the Casa di Cura San Rossore facility in Pisa, under Professor Niek Van Dijk a ‘true world authority’ in the field of arthroscopy and ankle surgery.

He was assisted by Doctor Giulia Favili, a recognised specialist with ‘great national and international authority’ in foot and ankle surgery.

In fact, they’ve even spoken to the Professor about the surgery and the Tottenham man, who it seems he was very impressed by.

“He demonstrated incredible willpower and extraordinary devotion to the team by finishing the match with a broken ankle,” he said.

“Guglielmo Vicario is a lion-heart, a strong and determined athlete, even if he is currently forced to rest. I cannot say anything else because it concerns the footballer’s privacy.”

On Wednesday, we covered claims from Spain which stated Barcelona believe they have the situation with Andrei Ratiu under control amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Thursday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo states the La Liga side have the 26-year-old on their radar and also mention Tottenham’s interest.

The right-back impressed for Romania at the Euro 2024 and also for Rayo Vallecano this season, making 11 league appearances so far.

This has seen him arouse interest from other clubs including Tottenham, Barca, AS Roma, Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen. The newspaper focuses on the Catalan club and explains why Barcelona feel they would be ahead of Spurs and other clubs in the transfer race.

The Romania international is represented by Spanish agent Leaderbrock Sports, who also manages Barca midfielder Pedri.

Pedri is close to signing a new deal at the Camp Nou and his agent recently met Barcelona sporting director Deco for the renewal. During this meeting, the pair also talked about the Tottenham target.

This gives Hansi Flick’s side the upperhand over others, as long as they make a firm effort to acquire his signature.

Tottenham injury ‘more serious’ than initially anticipated – Now 'unlikely' to play for Spurs this year

Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison has struggled with injuries this season, limiting his game time to 173 minutes from seven matches.

The forward picked up an injury at the end of August and returned to action against West Ham United in October. Earlier this month, he suffered another setback in Tottenham’s win over Aston Villa.

Ange Postecoglou had stated the 27-year-old suffered a hamstring injury and Trivela now provide more on his setback.

Earlier claims from England had indicated the former Everton man will be out of action for around four weeks.

Trivela claim the Brazil international has a muscle injury on his right thigh, but there’s no damage to his tendon. They add these sorts of injuries generally take two to six weeks to recover from, but that isn’t the case with the Tottenham player.

It’s claimed the attacker’s injury appears to be ‘more serious than initially anticipated’ and he’s ‘unlikely to play’ again for Tottenham this year. Trivela claim they got this information from the north London club’s medical team.

There’s a possibility for Richarlison to recover this year, but Spurs won’t rush him back in order to avoid any further setbacks. Therefore, the South American is expected to return to the pitch in 2025.
