Sergio Reguilón could be finally set to make his comeback after leaving Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer in the summer.

That’s according to Marca. They report that the defender is on the verge of joining Inter Miami as their replacement for Jordi Alba.

The newspaper reports that Inter Miami will be waving goodbye to Alba this weekend after competing in the MLS Cup final. And they already have a ‘Plan A’ to replace the former Barcelona star.

That man is Sergio Reguilón. His signing is ‘considered a done deal’ and it could even be officially announced in the days following Saturday’s final.

Reguilón has already been spotted in Miami in the last few days, adding further credence to the rumour. He’s at something of a disadvantage having been without a club for six months after leaving Tottenham. His last game was Tottenham’s clash with Aston Villa in May.

The 28-year-old has been ‘training extensively’ on his own since then. He hasn’t had any competitive minutes for anyone, though. Whether he can quickly overcome that at Inter Miami, remains to be seen.

Description

On Thursday, Tottenham manager Thomas Frank was asked about Mathys Tel’s situation at the club.

The Dane praised the player, despite his lack of game time this season. He clarified that he could get more minutes soon enough.

This came after Gazzetta dello Sport again covered AS Roma interest in the Frenchman last month, as they look to improve their attack.

RomaForever take a deeper look at Tel and believe he would be the ‘perfect fit’ for the Italian side. A loan move is seen as ideal because the Giallorossi would give the Tottenham player enough minutes to prove himself once again.

Gian Piero Gasperini is a fan of the 20-year-old’s versatility as he can play upfront and on the left. The Italian wants a player of that type, with the club’s attack struggling to score consistently.

While a deal is not believed to be underway, Roma will latch onto any opportunity if handed to them.

Frank’s words could have a damaging impact on the move. It’s believed that if Tel’s game time still doesn’t increase at Tottenham, Roma will attempt a loan.

The youngster has been of interest to the Italian side for weeks now. It remains to be seen if Spurs open up to his exit.

Conte eyes Tottenham star as dream signing for Napoli - Spurs need a 'substantial offer' in January - Sport Witness
Description

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dejan Kulusevski is considered a dream signing for Napoli and manager Antonio Conte.

That’s according to Area Napoli. They report that Conte and director of football Giovanni Manna are working on a possible deal for the Tottenham star.

They explain that Napoli are going through something of an emergency in midfield and, as a result, want to find a solution in the January transfer window. Several names are already on their shortlist. One of those names is particularly appealing to Conte.

That’s Kulusevski at Tottenham. He’s the ‘favourite’ as far as the Italian coach is concerned. He is also considered an ‘impossible dream’ at this point. There is a belief Tottenham would be reluctant to sell in January.

That stance could change if Napoli, or anybody else, were to make a ‘substantial offer’. Whether they’d be willing to do so isn’t mentioned. But the Tottenham man is at the top of their list, nonetheless.

Napoli have tried to sign him in the past without success, never quite making the final move to make it happen. Whether they’re now willing to do so to satisfy Conte, remains to be seen.

Description

Anderlecht rising star Nathan de Cat has been urged to avoid interest from the likes of Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

The advice comes from analysts Marc Degryse, via Voetbal Primeur. He believes the youngster should look at Germany before the Premier League.

De Cat has been earning rave reviews for his performances at Anderlecht this season. He’s quickly become an indispensable part of the starting line up under Besnik Hasi.

The midfielder is impressing week by week, and his performances have not gone unnoticed. A report in the UK named Aston Villa, Brighton and Tottenham as admirers last month.

De Cat’s agents later dismissed this but a separate report in Belgium further insisted that the Premier League trio were keen. A move in the January transfer window could even be on the cards.

Degryse, though, would advise against that. Instead, he believes De Cat should be looking elsewhere.

“If I were De Cat, I’d go to Germany first before moving to the Premier League,” he said.

“You shouldn’t immediately want to go to Manchester City. First, go to a major league, be a real pillar there for a few seasons. If you then want to take the step to the real top at 22 or 23, you’ll be much better protected.”

Whether De Cat takes that advice, particularly if Aston Villa, Brighton or Tottenham do come calling, remains to be seen.

For now, his focus will be on continuing to shine for Anderlecht. They’re already impressed by him, with analyst Frank Boeckx likening him to a current Villa star, Youri Tielemans.

“I think he’s a mix between Dendoncker and Tielemans. And I think there’s even more Tielemans in him than is currently coming out,” he added.

“Defensively, he’s incredibly strong. He chooses his position wisely, but De Cat can do much more than that. Whether he can ultimately distribute the play like Tielemans is the question.”

On Thursday, Gazzetta dello Sport confidently claimed Guglielmo Vicario will leave Tottenham in the summer.

Frustrated with struggles in London, the goalkeeper informed his agents about his decision to depart, or so the story goes. Inter Milan see him as a key target for next summer

Talk about the 29-year-old’s future at Tottenham is now growing in Italy.

Journalist Enzo Bucchioni spoke to Tuttomercatoweb Radio about the ex-Empoli man. He made it clear that Vicario has improved at Spurs and is good enough to replace Yann Sommer at Inter.

He said, relayed by FCInter1908: “Since he went to England, his performance has improved. He’s matured as a goalkeeper. In England, the level of play in the penalty area is worse than in Italy, and the goalkeeper also has to compete with giants.”

Bucchioni further claimed that the Tottenham player wants to return to Italy and Inter have made an approach.

“Maybe he wants to return to Italy, because his performance has always been above average, he’s brought a lot of confidence to the team. I think he wants to come back, and that’s why Inter have made an approach.”

The journalist also tipped Vicario to become the next Sommer, via FCInter1908.

“It’s his reactivity that impresses me, he could be a young Sommer, with more reactivity.”

“He’s ready to take over the Inter starting shirt.”

Since joining Tottenham, the Italian has certainly improved. The Azzurri goalkeeper has grown into a leader and under Ange Postecoglou, he also impressed on the ball.

Vicario’s Tottenham contract runs out in the summer of 2028. This will make it difficult for Inter to sign him, but if the player pushes for an exit a transfer could become less complex.

Mateo Pellegrino has impressed for Parma so far this season. The striker is now attracting attention from Tottenham, West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

The 24-year-old Argentine has seven goals in all competitions, while playing in a team which is battling to survive relegation in Serie A.

Pellegrino arrived at Parma last January and since his arrival has ten goals in 28 games. He’s showcased a very reliable aerial ability and is also known to be very good on the ball.

Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo has reported about interest from AC Milan.

They want a striker in January but signing Pellegrino will not be easy next month.

This is because Tottenham, West Ham and Nottingham Forest have ‘set their sights’ on the player.

The journalist claims that in the summer, Parma rejected a €15m offer from a Premier League club. The exact identity of the club remains unknown but this helped the Serie A strugglers establish a price tag for their asset.

In January, Tottenham, West Ham and Nottingham Forest will have to make a ‘huge offer’ to land the player.

Parma paid only €2m to Velez Sarsfield to sign Pellegrino earlier this year. Despite the possibility of a major capital profit, they aren’t keen on a January sale.

Suitors are more likely to sign the forward in the summer, with Pellegrino helping Parma battle relegation.

Description

Italian media continue to push the idea of Guglielmo Vicario leaving Tottenham, and that line gained public backing on Tuesday.

Arturo Di Napoli spoke to TMW Radio (relayed by FC Inter News) and supported Inter Milan’s plan to move again for the Spurs goalkeeper.

The former forward said the Italian club had already tried to sign Vicario before his move to London. He explained that Inter negotiated with Empoli at the time, but the Premier League pulled the player away because Tottenham were ready to pay more.

Di Napoli insisted the failed deal was “only a financial issue”, which forced Empoli to accept the English offer.

He believes that background matters now. Di Napoli argued that Inter wanted Vicario “in times not suspected”, highlighting that they saw him as a long-term starter even before his Premier League switch.

With Yann Sommer’s age becoming a factor, he claimed that bringing the Tottenham player back to Serie A “would be a major coup”.

These remarks follow Gazzetta dello Sport, who earlier reported Vicario is tired of ‘yet another psycho-dramatic season’ at Spurs.

According to the Italian daily, the 29-year-old has told his entourage this could be his final campaign in the Premier League. They also repeated that his desire to return home is growing.

Italian outlets continue to link Tottenham with alternatives. Emiliano Martínez’s name surfaced again, although those claims look speculative.

Still, with Vicario frustrated by the current Spurs season and receiving open praise in Italy, the narrative around a possible return is gaining strength. What happens next will depend on how Tottenham position themselves in the window.

“Completely ridiculous” – Danish anger over claims Thomas Frank’s Tottenham job in danger

"Completely ridiculous" - Danish anger over claims Thomas Frank's Tottenham job in danger - Sport Witness
Description

Glen Riddersholm is unhappy about claims stating Thomas Frank’s position at Tottenham Hotspur is in danger.

Riddersholm has managed Denmark U17s, FC Midtjylland and several other clubs. He also worked as an assistant manager at Norwich City last season.

The Dane is currently a pundit for Viaplay, where he talked about the Tottenham boss, and Tipsbladet have relayed his comments.

Frank has managed 22 matches since taking over Spurs last summer. The north London club won eight and lost eight, which includes a defeat in the EFL Cup to Newcastle United.

Tottenham have five wins after 14 league matches this season and are currently 11th in the table. They could have suffered another defeat against the Magpies if not for Cristian Romero’s late equaliser against the Magpies on Tuesday.

They have one win in their last eight matches, and it came against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League. The Europa League winners’ recent poor run has led to suggestion in England that Frank’s job could be in danger.

There’s anger in Denmark about the suggestion made in England about Frank’s role at Spurs. Despite their recent poor run, Riddersholm insists Tottenham have done well under Frank.

“I think it is completely ridiculous that Thomas Frank should fear for his job. I think he is doing a fantastic job,” he said.

“Everyone who is close to Tottenham and follows it from a distance knows that what he has done so far has been excellent. You can only play with the cards you are dealt, and I think there are obvious shortcomings in the squad he is coaching.”

Tottenham and Liverpool in ‘very advanced contact’ for 19-year-old’s transfer - Sport Witness
Description

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are leading the race to sign RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande.

That’s at least what journalist Sacha Tavolieri is reporting in his column for Sky Sport CH.

He claims the 19-year-old has ended up on the radars of Tottenham, Liverpool and Barcelona.

The Europa League winners have been monitoring the winger in recent months. His profile particularly appeals to Thomas Frank, who is looking to improve Spurs’ attack.

Liverpool are also in the picture to sign the Ivory Coast international. Tavolieri states the Reds see him as a ‘serious option to bring freshness’ to their attack.

Tottenham and Liverpool are currently in pole position and have already made approaches to sign him. According to the journalist, Spurs and Arne Slot’s side are in ‘very advanced contact’ with the youngster’s agent.

Diomande joined the German club from Leganés in July and signed a five-year contract.

Tavolieri reports Leipzig, who are calm, are keeping a close eye on the developments around the young attacker. They haven’t yet started negotiations for his potential sale.

Barcelona have also shown interest in the Ivorian. At this moment in time, they haven’t gone beyond ‘exploratory calls’.

Tottenham player tired of 'psycho-dramatic season' - Exit on cards, Spurs eye PL replacement - Sport Witness
Description

On Tuesday, both TuttoSport and Gazzetta dello Sport reported Inter Milan interest in Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario.

The pink daily specifically claimed that the Italian side have already spoken to the goalkeeper’s agent. They later went on to say fan pressure was making Vicario look towards the exit.

Today’s Gazzetta goes deeper into the 29-year-old’s situation at Tottenham.

According to the report, Vicario is tired of ‘ yet another psycho-dramatic season’ at Spurs. He now has a desire to return to Serie A, where he impressed with Empoli before joining the London club.

Gazzetta state the Tottenham player has let his agents know ‘this could be his last agonising season’ in the Premier League.

To be clear, the Italian newspaper state: ‘Vicario is tired of experiencing yet another psycho-dramatic season and has let his representatives know that this could be his last agonising season in the Premier League. The yearning for home prevails, the desire to return to Serie A for good.’

At the same time, it’s claimed Thomas Frank’s side are already looking around for replacements.

Aston Villa’s Dibu Martinez is named as the favourite target. The Argentine was close to joining Manchester United in the summer, and now it’s claimed Tottenham could be his next destination.

Whilst Martinez links may well be guesswork, the Vicario claims are all over Italy. There’s nearly always a belief Italians in the Premier League are never truly happy and desire a return home.

The current Tottenham situation has encouraged that further.
