Tottenham players will have to accept a massive pay cut if the club ends up getting relegated to the Championship.

After parting ways with Igor Tudor just 44 days into his tenure, Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager. They have handed the former Brighton manager a long-term deal despite the imminent threat of relegation.

While dropping down to the second division will be a massive blow for the club, they are prepared to cope with the situation financially. According to Graeme Bailey via TEAMtalk, a number of players in the Tottenham squad have a relegation clause in their contract. As per the clause, the player’s salary will be reduced significantly if the club were to drop out of the Premier League.

Bailey said, “We understand that clauses are in place at Tottenham, but understandably the club don’t want to talk about such things.

“With De Zerbi now in place, their only thinking is about staying in the Premier League – they are really only concerned with staying in the top flight.

“But we are informed that reduction in salary clauses are in the contracts, and some of them are substantial.”

With things not working out under Thomas Frank, Spurs appointed Tudor in mid-February with the hope that he could help steady the ship. However, things went from bad to worse under his management as they could only secure one point in their five league outings under the Croatian manager.

Following that run, they are now 17th on the points table and are only a point clear of the drop zone. With just seven games to go, De Zerbi certainly has his task cut out. Spurs have handed him a long-term deal without any relegation clause, which suggests the Italian is here to build a long-term project.

Relegation clause in star players’ contracts

For now, everyone is focused on ensuring they survive the drop. But if they fail, some of their biggest players will have to deal with massive financial blows. In the event of relegation, summer signings Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus will both have to deal with a pay cut.

The duo agreed to contracts with a clause that includes substantial wage drops in the event of relegation. Even winter signing Conor Gallagher, who is the highest-paid player at the club, agreed to such a clause.

Not just the new signings, defensive mainstay Cristian Romero also agreed to a similar clause when he penned a lucrative new deal last year. While Spurs seem to be well protected in case of relegation, their priority is to ensure they avoid the drop at all costs.

Tottenham reluctant to sell Dominic Solanke, sale could be forced

Dominic Solanke is reportedly a target for Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur could be forced to consider selling him in the summer.

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are reluctant to sell Dominic Solanke in the summer transfer window, but they could be forced to cash in on him if they are relegated or the player decides to force an exit. They would also find it difficult to turn down attractive offers for the English striker.

It remains to be seen whether Newcastle United are prepared to take advantage of their situation and make a move for the England international. Even though the Englishman has not been a prolific goalscorer for Tottenham, he is a useful player who has shown his quality in the Premier League.

Newcastle United need more depth in their attacking unit, and Solanke is a top target. Yoane Wissa has struggled since arriving from Brentford last summer, and the Magpies need more options in the final third. Signing another striker in the summer could be a wise decision. Meanwhile, Tottenham’s reported asking price of £50 million makes him an appealing target.

Will Spurs sell Dominic Solanke?

Pete O’Rourke explained, “Solanke is part of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad where he’ll be hoping he can impress and book a ticket for the World Cup. For Tottenham, he’s under contract until 2030, so they’re under no real massive pressure to sell him under a long-term contract.

“Obviously if they do suffer the worst fate and go down obviously they might be forced to cash in on some of their players. Some of those players might not be too keen to be playing in the Championship either so obviously he could be available then in the summer if Spurs are relegated.

“They’re still very reluctant to sell him, Tottenham, but they might be left with no choice if any clubs come in for him and that is the case.”

Solanke has not been at his best

Meanwhile, Tottenham are also lacking in quality attackers. They will need to replace Solanke properly if he is sold in the summer. The North London outfit need a reliable striker who can find the back of the net regularly. Solanke cost Spurs a club-record fee of around £65 million, but he has 22 goals and eight assists in 62 matches for them.

In theory, the Englishman’s departure might not be a massive blow for the club, but they are short on goal scorers and might need to invest in multiple strikers if the 28-year-old is sold. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds. However, with Solanke reportedly valued at £50 million, it will not be surprising to see him leave, especially if Tottenham get relegated.

Description

Pascal Struijk is of interest to clubs like Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United ahead of the summer as Leeds United faces a difficult decision.

According to Sports Boom, Pascal Struijk could attract significant interest in the summer, with the likes of Aston Villa, Tottenham and Newcastle United all showing an interest. Leeds United could face a tough decision about their long-time defender, as they could either cash in or offer him a new deal.

Pascal Struijk has been at Leeds United since 2020 after joining their U-19 side from Ajax at the same level. He has steadily grown his stature at Elland Road, playing key roles in their promotion to the Premier League twice, and he also carries considerable experience in the top flight.

Struijk has made 188 appearances for Leeds United across all competitions, and at 26, the defender still has plenty more to give. Hence, it is no surprise that some of the top-flight sides are angling for a move in the summer, as the Dutchman will enter the final year of his deal at Elland Road.

Leeds United are faced with a tough decision as they could either cash in or offer their key defender a new contract. Both prospects could aid Leeds United in how they view the future, as they are now aware of the interest from Aston Villa, Tottenham and Newcastle United.

Newcastle United are contemplating the sale of Sven Botman, as they are interested in Alessandro Buongiorno from Napoli to replace him. However, Struijk could be viewed as a like-for-like replacement for his compatriot, as Leeds United could demand as much as £30 million for their mainstay.

Pascal Struijk to leave Leeds United?

Struijk could consider his future if Leeds United fail in their task of offering him a new deal that aligns with his importance in the team. Tottenham could emerge as an option, potentially even if they suffer relegation, as the money on offer could be key. There is a chance Micky van de Ven could depart in the summer for a new challenge, and Struijk could be seen as an ideal replacement should that happen.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are considering appointing Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk as their new manager ahead of next season.

Tottenham are currently focused on ensuring their survival in the English top flight. While they are hoping Igor Tudor can help them retain their top-flight status, the board has already started planning for the next season. They are on the lookout for a new manager, and according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, the North London club are considering appointing Okan Buruk.

Buruk’s time at Galatasaray

The Galatasaray legend has done an impressive job managing his former club, and they want him to take charge of Spurs ahead of next season. After managing quite a few clubs from across the globe, Buruk took over as the manager of the Turkish giants in the summer of 2022.

Over the years, he has led them in 195 matches, and he has accumulated an impressive 2.31 points per game. He has done wonders for them across competitions, and his work has caught the attention of a number of clubs.

He has won trophies and managed the likes of Mauro Icardi and Victor Osimhen, and has taken them deep in the Champions League. Not only did they take down Juventus, but the 52-year-old also almost guided them past Liverpool in the round of 16 this season.

Tottenham are keen on the Turkish manager

Buruk has the ability to develop young players, and his tactical approach seems to be an ideal fit for Tottenham, who are in the market for a new manager. Given how things have panned out for Tudor since he took charge of Spurs, the Croatian manager is unlikely to be handed the reins permanently.

The club are already looking at a number of options, and Buruk is one of the names on their shortlist. With his contract running out at the end of the season, he has become a very interesting option for the North London club.

Tottenham begins talks with Adi Hutter to replace Igor Tudor - TheHardTackle.com
Description

Tottenham Hotspur brought in Igor Tudor to steady the ship after the departure of Thomas Frank, but the appointment has not gone as planned.

Igor Tudor has failed to make the desired impact, and Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to replace him with Adi Hutter.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, the North London outfit have already opened talks to appoint Hutter as the club’s next manager.

Igor Tudor and Thomas Frank: Failing to make their mark

Igor Tudor has managed seven matches for Tottenham, winning just one and drawing one. In comparison, the manager he replaced (Thomas Frank) averaged 1.29 points per game over 38 matches. The Dane picked up two wins in 17 Premier League matches before he was shown the door. He left Tottenham in 16th place in the Premier League table.

However, Tudor has not been able to get them out of that situation, failing to win a single Premier League game. So, the Croatian tactician has invited a lot of criticism, and a departure from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may be on the cards.

Meanwhile, Adi Hutter is an experienced manager who has shown his quality across multiple leagues. He could prove to be an interesting acquisition for Tottenham. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

The Austrian tactician has impressed with his high-intensity 4-2-3-1 approach, and Tottenham have the players to execute his style of football. Hutter can switch to a back three as well, and his tactical versatility could be a hit at the London club.

Adi Hutter has extensive experience

Hutter has managed clubs in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, and, most recently, France with AS Monaco. He helped AS Monaco push for the Ligue 1 title last season and averaged 1.77 points per game with them. Prior to that, he impressed at Eintracht Frankfurt as well, averaging 1.65 points per game. He was named the best manager in Germany in 2019, during his time at Frankfurt as well.

His experience of managing in various leagues will certainly come in handy, and he will look to prove himself in the Premier League now. Tottenham have quality players at their disposal, but they need a manager who can bring out the best in them.

Tottenham Hotspur attacking sensation Mikey Moore wants to continue at Scottish club Rangers for next season.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Mikey Moore, who is currently on loan at Rangers, is loving life at Ibrox and would love to continue at the Scottish club for another season. He would definitely stay at the Premiership club if the decision were his alone, but the final call entirely depends on his parent club, Tottenham Hotspur.

Moore has been a part of the Tottenham setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and has only gone from strength to strength of late. The teenager winger got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2024.

While everyone at the club rates him very highly, he only had limited game time last season. The 18-year-old was involved in a total of 19 matches for Spurs. He racked up over 800 minutes and even contributed towards three goals.

Moore’s loan spell in Scotland

It certainly was an impressive debut campaign, where he featured on both flanks, but the North London club were keen on ensuring he could have more game time this time around. As a result, they ended up sending him out on loan to Rangers last summer.

During his stint in Scottish football, the teenager has been involved in 40 matches and has contributed towards nine goals. He has racked up close to 2,300 minutes of first-team action and has featured everywhere in attack.

He has been a revelation since moving to Glasgow last summer. The 18-year-old has thrived under manager Danny Rohl. Following Rangers’ 4-1 win over Aberdeen on Saturday, the English youth international opened up on his future.

Moore could continue at Rangers

Moore said that he has loved every second of his time in Scotland. He described Rangers as a club that has a special place in his heart. People close to the player have indicated that if an opportunity to stay at Ibrox emerges, Moore would love to extend his loan spell for another season. However, the final call depends on Tottenham.

With the club likely to appoint a new manager ahead of next season, the final call on Moore’s future may rest with the incoming boss. For now, though, the player has certainly given Rangers hope of a potential reunion next season.

Danny Rohl is keen to keep him and has already urged the club to open talks with Spurs over a possible extension. Much will depend on which league the North London club are playing in next season. If they suffer relegation, Moore is likely to be reintegrated into the first team, but survival could pave the way for another loan spell.

Description

Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a return to the Premier League in recent months, and Tottenham Hotspur have contacted him regarding a potential return.

In an interview with French publication L’Equipe via Sport Witness, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he misses English football.

Pochettino was a fan favourite at the North London club, and he helped them fight for the Premier League title during his time there. He also helped them reach the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2019.

The South American was highly rated across Europe during his time at Tottenham, and it remains to be seen whether the Londoners can bring him back to the club in the summer.

Pochettino is currently managing the United States national team, and he is expected to be on the move after the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Tottenham have been linked with multiple managers in recent months, and Adi Hutter appears to be the frontrunner for now.

Mauricio Pochettino misses English football

“Not just Tottenham. Other very big clubs too,” Pochettino said of contact from clubs.

On his situation at PSG, Pochettino explained: “When that six-month season ended, there was a bit of… Well, with this whole COVID situation, the club situation created instability. In every area.

“There was a period of change, uncomfortable situations, situations that… (He thinks about his words.) That didn’t give the impression that it was possible to work in a stable environment, like the one we have today. I enjoyed my experience at PSG. But I had other options, which I shared with the club, but they chose not to listen to any of them.”

Pochettino added, “I miss the world of football in England. I love the country, its culture, the football culture. For anyone with a competitive spirit who wants to measure themselves against others and test their limits, it’s the ideal place. Here, you have to give your best constantly.”

Spurs need a quality manager

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham, and they are fighting for survival in the top flight. Thomas Frank was brought in after the UEFA Europa League-winning season, and he was expected to help them build on the trophy win. However, the Dane failed to get the job done, and Tottenham eventually opted for Igor Tudor.

Under the Croat’s management, they have won just one game across all competitions. He is likely to be shown the door soon, and they will need a quality replacement. Tottenham need a reliable manager who can bring the best out of their team and lift the spirits around the club.

Manchester United will reportedly compete with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign 24-year-old Irish defender Nathan Collins from Brentford this summer.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Nathan Collins. The three Premier League giants are eager to bolster their defensive units by signing a centre-back in the summer transfer window. So, the 24-year-old Brentford defender has emerged as a target, with the high-flying Premier League club slapping a price tag of £55 million on him.

How has Nathan Collins fared at Brentford?

Nathan Collins has been one of the most reliable defenders in the Premier League since joining Brentford from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a deal worth £23 million in July 2023. The Irishman has made significant progress over the last two and a half years, having established himself as a mainstay at the back for his club and country.

Collins has made over 100 appearances for Brentford thus far while chipping in with six goals and nine assists. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old defender’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs. Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

A man in demand

The Republic of Ireland international has been on Liverpool’s wishlist for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, as the Reds are scouring the market for a centre-back amid uncertainties surrounding Ibrahima Konate’s long-term future. Additionally, Virgil van Dijk is approaching the twilight of his career, and Joe Gomez has struggled with fitness issues throughout his spell with Liverpool. So, Collins is a viable target for the Merseyside club.

Meanwhile, Manchester United hold a long-standing interest in Nathan Collins. However, the continued interest is baffling, considering Harry Maguire is on the cusp of signing a new contract with the Red Devils. However, with Maguire on the wrong side of 30, Manchester United can do with a new centre-back to be the Englishman’s successor, with Collins an option worth considering.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, Cristian Romero’s long-term future is uncertain after his recent comments on the club’s situation. Additionally, Micky van de Ven may also leave the North London club in the summer transfer window. So, the Lilywhites need a new centre-back, with Collins a viable target.

The latest report has revealed that Brentford will demand a hefty fee to part ways with the 24-year-old Irishman, having slapped a price tag of £55 million on him. The Bees are “under no pressure to sell and would be expected to demand a significant fee” in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Republic of Ireland international.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have endured a disappointing 2025/26 campaign, and they are considering Adi Hutter as a long-term managerial solution.

Tottenham Hotspur recently appointed Igor Tudor as the interim manager until the end of the season, and he is likely to be shown the door in the summer. Tottenham are looking at multiple candidates to take over as the club’s long-term manager, and Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has now revealed that they are keeping tabs on former AS Monaco manager Adi Hutter.

The German tactician endured a hit-and-miss stint at the Ligue 1 club, and he could prove to be a quality appointment. The 56-year-old is a target for the North London club, and they have already initiated a move to sign him. It will be interesting to see if he is willing to take the job in the summer. The opportunity to manage in the Premier League will be exciting for him.

Tottenham need to get the managerial decision spot on in the summer. They have quality players at their disposal, but Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor have not been able to get the best out of the team. They must bring in a manager who can maximise the club’s current resources.

Tottenham are a big club, and they should be fighting for UEFA Champions League football every season. They should be chasing domestic trophies as well. Spurs managed to win the UEFA Europa League last season, but they were unable to build on it. Multiple managerial changes have not yielded any results, and they need to fix the situation quickly.

Meanwhile, Adi Hutter is an experienced manager with the pedigree to succeed in the Premier League. It remains to be seen whether he is ready to take up a new challenge. Tottenham have been heavily criticised for not living up to their potential for several years. The pressure to deliver will be huge on the 56-year-old manager, and he will need to make an immediate impact.

There is no doubt that the German tactician will have several quality players at his disposal at the North London club, and he is likely to be back with substantial funds in the summer as well if Spurs remain in the Premier League. However, it will be a massive challenge for him. Meanwhile, other managers, including Roberto De Zerbi, are also on Tottenham’s wishlist.

AC Milan rival Leeds United, Tottenham, West Ham United in Troy Parrott race - TheHardTackle.com
Description

AC Milan will reportedly compete with Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United for 24-year-old AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott.

According to a report by Football Insider, Troy Parrott is the subject of interest from AC Milan. The AZ Alkmaar striker is also a target for several Premier League clubs, including Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United. However, they will face stiff competition from European giants for the 24-year-old striker’s signature.

How has Troy Parrott fared since leaving Tottenham?

Troy Parrott has recently become a national hero after singlehandedly taking the Republic of Ireland closer to a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 24-year-old scored all five goals as the Green Army reached the playoffs with narrow wins over Portugal and Hungary. Meanwhile, the Irishman has been exceptional since joining AZ Alkmaar from Tottenham Hotspur in July 2024.

Parrott has been exceptional in the 2025/26 season thus far, scoring 26 goals and providing seven assists in 38 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, the Irish striker’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. AC Milan, Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature this summer.

A man in demand

AC Milan will likely dip into the market for a striker this summer, as Santiago Gimenez has struggled to make his mark since arriving from Feyenoord 15 months ago. Several Premier League clubs are keen on signing the Mexican striker, and a move to the Premier League may be on the cards. So, Parrott has emerged as a viable target for AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Leeds United’s long-term interest in Troy Parrott is understandable. While the West Yorkshire club signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha in the summer transfer window, Daniel Farke needs more firepower in the final third. So, the Republic of Ireland international is an option worth considering for Leeds United.

As for West Ham, it is unclear why the Irishman is a target for the East London club after they signed Valentin Castellanos and Pablo in the winter transfer window. Nevertheless, Parrott is on West Ham’s wishlist, with a summer move possible. Meanwhile, Tottenham will dip into the market for a striker, as they need more firepower in the final third.

So, their former academy sensation has emerged as a viable target for the Lilywhites. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Irish striker is also a target for Borussia Dortmund. With clubs that can offer UEFA Champions League also involved in the battle for Parrott’s signature, the Premier League outfits may face a tall order for his signature.
