Over the last couple of years, Ange Postecoglou has endured a turbulent spell as manager, kickstarting his career as Tottenham Hotspur manager with a bang, sitting top of the table after the first few weeks in 2023/24.

However, the Aussie has since struggled in periods to match the ambitions of the fanbase after his appointment, leading to criticism over his long-term future in the role.

He did lead the Lilywhites to Europa League football last season, but despite reaching the knockout stage, it looks almost impossible his side will reach the same stage through the Premier League this time around.

The club currently sit in 14th place, 13 points off a European spot with just 14 games remaining of the campaign, with the injury crisis at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium massively impacting their performances.

Regardless of the issues, questions continue to be asked of the former Celtic manager, unable to repeat the feats set by one of his predecessors in North London.

Mauricio Pochettino’s time at Spurs

Back in the summer of 2014, Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino was appointed as Spurs boss, looking to point the club in the right direction after finishing sixth in the year before his arrival.

The 52-year-old would be a huge hit with the supporters, transforming them into constant Champions League contenders, even finishing second in the 2016/17 season, just seven points off title winners Chelsea.

He would provide the fanbase with countless memories during his time in charge, from Derby Day victories to leading them to a Champions League final in the 2018/19 campaign - losing to Liverpool in the final.

However, he would receive the sack just a couple of months after the defeat, losing his job after a poor start to the league campaign the following season.

Nearly six years on from his dismissal, it remains to be seen whether the decision to part ways with the manager was the right one, with the club yet to hit the heights he achieved since leaving.

He also tipped one player to be a star during his time in North London, with the club potentially ruing his departure given his form since leaving the Lilywhites.

The former Spurs star who’s outscoring Richarlison

Brazilian striker Richarlison joined the club after Pochettino’s departure, costing £60m in the summer of 2022, moving from Everton will real expectations of transforming the club’s attack.

He’s struggled to nail down a regular starter role, with the 27-year-old also one of the players recently hit with injury, limiting him to just three goals in his 14 appearances in 2024/25.

He could’ve been aided in his attempts within the final third had the club kept hold of youngster Marcus Edwards, who was once seen as a talent with huge potential in North London.

The winger, who was once compared to Lionel Messi, came through the club’s academy after joining as an eight-year-old but struggled to break into the first-team, making just one senior appearance for his boyhood side.

He would subsequently depart on a free transfer at the end of his contract, joining Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes in the summer of 2019 - a move that would ignite his professional career.

He featured nearly 100 times, before moving to Sporting Lisbon in January 2022, starring under Ruben Amorim, leading to rumours linking him to some of the biggest teams in Europe.

However, he’s been starved of game time in 2024/25, dropping down to the Championship and joining Scott Parker’s Burnley on loan for the rest of the season.

Despite his lack of minutes over the last couple of months, the Englishman has still managed to score four times - a tally one higher than Richarlison, showcasing his quality when having the opportunity to feature.

Whilst he may now be featuring in England’s second tier, the 26-year-old is a player who is way better than the level he’s playing at, but he’s in desperate need of valuable minutes to continue his progression.

Given the club’s current injury situation, he would’ve provided a valuable option in the final third, especially considering how he’s outperformed Richarlison so far in 2024/25.

Tottenham's new stance on re-signing Harry Kane amid 'this summer' claim

Tottenham Hotspur legend Harry Kane has recently been linked with a sensational return to N17 from Bayern Munich, with a report this week sharing the club's new stance on potentially bringing him back to the Premier League.

Tottenham linked with Harry Kane reunion amid release clause

As revealed by The Telegraph, the 31-year-old has a release clause in his contract which may eventually help to facilitate a move away from Bayern.

This follows a report from German news outlet BILD (via GiveMeSport) that the value of this clause was set at around £67 million this winter, and could drop to as low as £54 million when it becomes active again next winter, but English media haven't yet backed up those figures.

In any case, there does appear to be an exit clause in Kane's contract, which could help Tottenham to re-sign the Lilywhites hero.

In a further boost for Ange Postecoglou, which was seemingly negotiated by chairman Daniel Levy, Spurs possess a first-option agreement in potential talks for Kane (The Telegraph) - but it would only count if Bayern agree to the move and Kane green-lights a transfer back to his former club.

There is also no arranged fee in this first-option agreement, meaning Levy would still have to negotiate a price with Bayern or trigger the forward's release clause.

Kane's contract is set to expire in 2027, so unless the in-form number nine signs an extension and commits his long-term future to the German heavyweights, then his future will continue to be a talking point.

It is obvious why Tottenham could be tempted to instigate a move for Kane, given his cult-hero status at the club and just how he's taken like a duck to water in the Bundesliga since his move there in 2023.

Kane boasts 29 goals and 10 assists from 29 appearances in all competitions this season - scoring 73 in 74 outings in total for the club - so he's definitely not lost his appetite.

His status as England and Tottenham's all-time leading scorer - not to mention a repeated Ballon d'Or nominee - puts him up there with the best strikers to have ever played the beautiful game. Kane could have unfinished business in the Premier League, considering he's just 47 goals off Alan Shearer's all-time goalscoring record in the division.

Tottenham stance on re-signing Harry Kane with this summer claim made

Now, as per a report from Spain, Tottenham could even look to re-sign Kane "this summer". It is believed the north Londoners have refused to rule out the possibility of a deal for the veteran superstar this year, but they face stiff competition, as Chelsea, Man United and even Arsenal are monitoring his situation very closely.

However, while there is interest from these elite sides, it remains to be seen whether any of them can convince Bayern or Kane at the end of this season - and it could be a truly monumental task.

“Harry never doubted himself," said Vincent Kompany after Bayern's hard-fought 2-1 win over Freiburg in January.

"He stayed calm and kept working hard. Of course, we can talk about his goal today, but he also defended deep and helped the team a lot. That speaks volumes about his character. He really gives everything for the team to be successful.”

Tottenham Hotspur chiefs are making plans ahead of the summer transfer window, as they sense an opportunity to sign one highly-rated forward for free.

Postecoglou and Levy under pressure as Spurs prepare for Man United

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, despite his squad being blighted by injuries to key first-team stars, has been under mounting pressure in recent weeks.

The same can be said for ENIC and chairman Daniel Levy, who face fresh protests from disgruntled supporters against United this weekend, amid claims that private Qatari investors are planning a phased buyout of Tottenham.

Spurs have won just one of their last eight Premier League matches, losing 13 in the league alone already, with Postecoglou's side languishing in 14th.

The Australian appears to be walking a tightrope when it comes to keeping the Spurs job, and reports this week have linked the Lilywhites with a succession of potential Postecoglou replacements in Simone Inzaghi, Thomas Frank, Edin Terzić and Andoni Iraola.

"Managers have gone a lot quicker than Ange, and not done as bad as his results, and sadly you can only hide behind injuries for so long, irrespective of how much it's affecting the team and how difficult it is to get through that period," said ex-Premier League boss Sam Allardyce on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.

"You've got to find a way to get results, and I think that as the game is today, his inability to change - and to provide a way of playing to win - is much more important than the style of play, and he doesn't seem to accept that."

Tottenham attempted to back Postecoglou in January, albeit mostly in dramatic last minute fashion. Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel joined to bolster a number of key areas in the team, with Spurs also making a late attempt to sign Axel Disasi, who ended up joining Aston Villa instead.

Whether or not Postecoglou remains in the dugout for 2025/2026 remains to be seen, but Spurs are planning to bolster the squad again this summer.

Tottenham hold talks with Malaga winger Antonio Cordero's camp

As per The Boot Room and journalist Graeme Bailey, Malaga winger Antonio Cordero is attracting Tottenham's interest, with the highly-rated winger available for nothing later this year as his contract expires at the end of this campaign.

Tottenham have reached out to Cordero's representatives for talks, but the north Londoners will have to beat off a host of other clubs to acquire his signature, with Newcastle thought to be in pole position right now.

Nevertheless, a transfer race is never over until the player officially puts pen to paper, so Spurs are still in with a shout of acquiring the Spain Under-19 international ahead of next campaign.

Signed by Nuno, now worth 293% more: Spurs struck gold with brilliant star

There is no denying it: this season has been nothing short of a disaster for Tottenham Hotspur, at least on the pitch.

Ange Postecoglou's side have been dreadful in the Premier League, and following last week's double cup exit, the only hope of silverware rests on their Europa League campaign.

With all that said, there have been some positives, such as the young players coming through and stamping their authority on the first team.

Moreover, despite the poor results, some of the first-team squad have seen their valuations grow, including someone signed by Nuno Espírito Santo during his short spell in the hot seat.

Nuno's Spurs signings

While he's currently flying with Nottingham Forest, Nuno's time in North London was far less successful.

In fact, with seven losses and one draw in his first 17 games, the Portuguese coach was sacked in November 2021, just four months after getting the job, and while he didn't have much time to impact the club, he was responsible for some good and some not so good signings.

One who certainly falls into the latter camp was Emerson Royal, who moved from Barcelona in August 2021 for a fee of around £26m, which, according to a later report from the Telegraph, was a fee the Catalan club couldn't believe the North Londoners were willing to pay.

Unfortunately, it didn't take too long for fans to understand Barça's shock, as while the Brazilian full-back wasn't dreadful, he was not up to scratch, as demonstrated by the fact he was limited to just 1335 minutes of action in his final campaign with the club before being sold to AC Milan for just £13m.

Fortunately, Nuno did make a couple of good additions to the squad, with Cristian Romero being one of them.

The Argentine joined the Lilywhites on a season-long loan with an option to buy for around £46.7m in August 2021. While he endured a somewhat slow start to life in London thanks to injuries, isolation and the team's overall poor form, he has since become one of the best players at the club.

In all, the World Cup winner has made 112 appearances for the North Londoners, in which he's managed to rack up a fairly impressive haul - for a centre-back - of seven goals and one assist while also being named one of the club's co-vice-captains in 2023.

The 26-year-old's commanding presence has been sorely missed for much of this season, which further indicates his importance to the team, but he still isn't the Nuno signing whose valuation has soared in recent years.

The Nuno signing whose valuation has soared

Aside from the likes of Archie Gray, Djed Spence, Mikey Moore, Lucas Bergvall and maybe Dejan Kulusevski, it would be hard to say anyone in the Spurs first team has had a particularly good season this year, so it's hard to imagine anyone's valuation skyrocketing.

However, a lacklustre campaign does not suddenly mean a talented player has no future or upside.

In Pape Matar Sarr's case, there is clearly a belief that as he progresses, he'll become a genuinely superb midfielder.

The Senegalese international signed for Tottenham from Ligue 1 side FC Metz for around £15m in August 2021 and, according to the CIES Football Observatory, is now worth an astounding €70.7m, which converts to about £59m.

That means that 22-year-old dynamo is now worth around 293% more than the fee paid by the club just three and a half years ago, and while that might sound like too much to some of you, it's probably not.

For example, despite still being relatively young, the "unplayable" midfielder, as dubbed by Spurs fan and podcaster Lee McQueen, has already racked up 86 appearances for the Lilywhites, in which he's scored eight goals and provided six assists from central and defensive midfield positions.

Moreover, he has also won 24 senior caps for Senegal, so has plenty of experience marshalling the midfield domestically and internationally.

Ultimately, Nuno may not have left much of an impact on Spurs with his management, but he did at least sign two quality players in Romero and Sarr, the latter of whom could be set for a bright future in North London.

Tottenham forced into possible £750m takeover discount amid Qatari interest

ENIC could be forced to reduce their valuation of a Tottenham Hotspur takeover by £750 million, handing private Qatari investors a potential boost in their plans to buy the club in the form of a phased buyout.

Qatari consortium hatch plan to buy Tottenham

The Guardian and journalist Matt Hughes broke news earlier this week that unnamed private Qatari investors, who are not linked to Sheikh Jassim or the government-backed QSI, are hatching plans to instigate an eventual takeover of Spurs.

The possible acquisition of ENIC's majority shares could apparently come through the form of a phased buyout, and it is believed that these Middle Eastern investors could keep hold of chairman Daniel Levy in a long-term club management role, in a controversial move considering how divisive the board chief is right now.

While Spurs sources insist that they're not currently involved in takeover negotiations, this group of private Qatari bidders are apparently "seeking to buy" Tottenham, (The Guardian), so the prospect of the Lilywhites eventually gaining new ownership appears to be getting more and more real.

This comes as supporters plan more protests against Levy and ENIC after Spurs' clash with Man United in the Premier League on Sunday. Protest group 'change for Tottenham' released an online poster in the build up to this weekend.

“No matter the result, applaud the players as they leave the pitch. Show them our appreciation for their efforts.

“Once the players have left the pitch, remain in the stadium and gather in the South Stand lower for a sit-in protest. From there, we will make it clear to the board – who will hear us from their luxury lounge – that enough is enough.”

Previous reports have claimed that ENIC value Tottenham at up to £4.5 billion, whilst other more recent reports state that the value of a takeover would be around £3.75 billion.

Tottenham forced into potential £750 million takeover discount

Now, according to Football Insider, it is believed this figure could drop by a further amount. Indeed, a Tottenham takeover would now likely be worth up to £3 billion - around £750 million below ENIC's current price of £3.75 billion - with interested parties apparently unwilling to shell out the latter figure.

Interestingly, former Everton CEO Keith Wyness recently suggested that the interest from Qatar in Spurs has been there for quite some time, and parties from that state could now pay less for a full acquisition of the club.

“There’s no doubt there is real interest from Qatar," said Wyness. “I think a London club like Spurs fit the profile, but the problem is with PSG and how they’d handle that with the Champions League rules. But at the moment, Spurs aren’t threatening to make the Champions League.

“Qatar like to invest in clubs with big assets, like the new stadium. I do think it would work. We might see something develop out of this."

Fabrizio Romano shares Simone Inzaghi update after Tottenham contract claim

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is under immense pressure at N17, amid claims that Spurs are targeting Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi as a replacement for the Australian.

Tottenham identify potential replacements for Postecoglou

The Lilywhites lie 14th in the Premier League table, losing 13 games already this season and winning just one of their last eight top flight matches.

Tottenham's current injury crisis has been well-documented, with Postecoglou's side into double digits when it comes to missing senior players. However, there is also a genuine case to be made that Spurs' form still hasn't been good enough, and criticism aimed at Tottenham's manager has centered around his lack of a plan B approach.

Spurs are believed to be doing their due-diligence on potential replacements for Postecoglou, with Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola and ex-Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzić all linked with the role recently.

Another tactician they're believed to be very interested in, according to reports out of Italy this week, is Nerazzurri boss Inzaghi.

The 48-year-old guided Inter to a Scudetto last season and a Champions League final the campaign before that, with Inter also contending for another Serie A title this season, as they fiercely challenge Antonio Conte's Napoli at the top of the Italian top flight.

Inzaghi is turning heads with the job he's done at Inter, so much so that Tottenham are being privately urged to consider appointing him as a possible successor to Postecoglou, should they opt to sack the 59-year-old.

Inter Live.it reported this week that Fabio Paratici is pushing Spurs to consider Inzaghi as manager, and if they do fire Postecoglou, then the Lilywhites are apparently ready to offer the coach a "very rich contract".

Now, amid claims of Tottenham's serious interest, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Inzaghi's future at the San Siro.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, the reporter claims that Inter want to hand Inzaghi a new contract as an "urgent priority", despite him only just signing a new deal around eight months ago, with the Lilywhites and other top clubs seemingly lurking.

"It's now an urgent topic at Inter," said Romano on Inzaghi's potential new contract.

"Full focus on Serie A, Champions League, they're still fighting in all competitions and nothing will be discussed now, also because he signed a new deal 8 months ago."

Spurs' interest is justified considering the Inter boss' glowing reputation among critics and players alike, but it looks like the Serie A giants will fight tooth and nail to keep him.

Qatari consortium hatch divisive plan in bid for Tottenham takeover

A Qatari consortium are said to be hatching a divisive plan in their potential bid for a takeover of Tottenham Hotspur, as they eventually seek to buy the north London club.

Tottenham supporters plan Daniel Levy protest against Man United

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, amidst yet another disappointing campaign, is facing more protests from frustrated Lilywhites supporters - who are planning to voice their dissatisfaction during their clash with Man United this weekend.

Fans are being urged by a protest group to gather in the south stand after the United game, to make clear to the board, who will hear them from the luxury lounge, that enough is enough (via The Times).

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is under mounting pressure, amid a crippling injury crisis and serious lack of form, with the north Londoners closer to relegation than they are to European qualification.

A large section of critics believe Tottenham's major squad shortage ultimately comes down to a lack of good investments in players over the years, and there are calls for more funds to be reinvested into building a squad that can genuinely compete at the top end of the Premier League.

"The thing that causes a lot of the frustration, you can see there's certain figures around the club supportive of Daniel Levy and you hear lines like 'who do Spurs fans think they are? They're so entitled," said Spurs fan and Rule The Roost podcaster, Jack Hussey.

"He's built them this good stadium and they've had Champions League football and they should be grateful for that'.

"On one hand you can appreciate that - but, you have to also take into consideration, Spurs fans are charged one of the highest amounts of money to watch the club, ticket prices are through the roof.

"Daniel Levy is the highest paid chairman in the Premier League, but the figures show you - Tottenham's wage spend ratio to turnover is one of the lowest in the league - something there isn't making sense.

"I have to default back to the fact that it's only been the last 20 years or so that Tottenham haven't been regularly winning things, prior to ENIC and Daniel Levy taking over, Tottenham regularly won trophies and competed at the top end of the table."

Qatari consortium looking to buy Tottenham in "controversial" plan

Now, according to The Guardian and reliable journalist Matt Hughes, private Qatari investors could now be looking to hand Spurs a way out of the ENIC era.

Indeed, it is believed that the Qatari consortium is looking to buy Tottenham, with the potential takeover likely coming in the form of a phased buyout as they eventually seek to acquire full control of the club.

However, in a "controversial" plan, those prospective buyers are also thinking about keeping Levy on with a long-term management contract - regardless of whether ENIC becomes a minority shareholder.

In a further bit of crucial information, these mystery bidders from the Middle East are not thought to be the Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) or Sheikh Jassim - who were involved in a bidding war to buy Man United.

Club debate summer deal for Tottenham ace after dropping social media hint

Tottenham Hotspur have a few key decisions to make this summer in regard to the futures of certain players, right after manager Ange Postecoglou attempts to finish the campaign as strongly as possible and guide them through this injury crisis.

Tottenham players who could leave this summer

Understandably, given the severe shortage of Spurs players right now, the last thing on anybody's mind is who could leave N17 this summer.

That being stated, reports in the press are still linking some notable names with high-profile departures from north London.

Tottenham are considering selling captain Son Heung-min despite recently triggering his one-year contract extension clause, according to GiveMeSport, with the same outlet reporting that both Timo Werner and Richarlison are facing uncertain futures as well.

Sergio Reguilon is also likely to leave Spurs after his contract expires, while star defender Cristian Romero is believed to be attracting serious interest from Real Madrid.

Long-serving defender Ben Davies' deal also runs out at the end of this campaign, but Tottenham intend to trigger a one-year extension clause in his contract, just as they did with Son - keeping the veteran for yet another season (Dan Kilpatrick).

There is also the matter of their senior crop out on loan, with both Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon enjoying excellent temporary spells away at Girona and Leeds United respectively.

Girona possess an option to buy the former for around £12.5 million, which they could well take up considering the 24-year-old's impressive La Liga performances.

Gil has been a mainstay under Michel, with the attacking midfielder starting 18 Spanish top flight matches and sitting third in their squad when it comes to their best-performing players by average match rating, according to WhoScored.

The former Sevilla starlet has also averaged their highest rate of successful take-ons per 90, and is joint-top in their squad with Yaser Asprilla for attempts at goal on average as well.

It is fair to say that Gil has found a new lease of life back in his homeland, and Girona are holding internal talks right now over whether to trigger his buy-out clause.

Girona debating summer deal to sign Bryan Gil from Tottenham

That is according to Spanish news outlet Estadio Deportivo, via Sport Witness, who write that Girona chiefs are debating a permanent deal to sign Gil from Tottenham amidst his exceptional 2024/2025 campaign.

It is added that they recently dropped a hint his way on social media, sending Gil a happy birthday message with the words 'for many years' thrown in - suggesting that they could be intending to keep him beyond this year.

However, it is not a forgone conclusion either, as £12.5 million is still seen as a fair bit of cash for the club to part with - and they may well elect not to either.

Tottenham's 10 best victories against Man Utd

Description

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Manchester United to north London on Sunday for a Premier League clash that, in the not-so-distant past, would have been a top-of-the-table encounter.

However, this season, it's a bottom-half affair. Instead of vying for European football, both sides will be battling to distance themselves from the relegation zone.

With United in 13th on 29 points from 24 games and Spurs in 14th with 27, it's safe to say it's been a poor season for both teams.

For the Red Devils, off-field upheaval, poor recruitment and a lack of quality on the pitch seem to be the culprits. Meanwhile, Spurs have had their own struggles, with injuries playing a significant role in their poor campaign as manager Ange Postecoglou has been constantly losing key players like Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke week after week.

Postecoglou’s job is certainly under pressure, but a win over United could ease that tension, even if just for a week or two.

He'll be hoping his side can replicate some of their best-ever results over United, 10 of which we've recounted here.

Tottenham mostly had a forgettable season in 1995/96, finishing 8th in the Premier League, and crashing out of the League Cup and FA Cup in the third and fifth rounds respectively.

Perhaps the highlight, however, was their 4-1 thumping of would-be champions Manchester United at White Hart Lane on New Year's Day in 1996.

Teddy Sheringham, who would later join United in 1997, opened the scoring on the day, while Sol Campbell and Chris Armstrong, who scored a brace, were also on the scoresheet.

Manchester United had already been crowned Premier League champions when they travelled to White Hart Lane in May 2001.

Clearly having taken their foot off the gas after defeats to Derby County and Southampton, they slumped to another loss against Spurs, who were more than happy to take advantage of their complacency.

While not a classic in the traditional sense given that nothing was really on the line, Willem Korsten's opening goal - chesting the ball down on the edge of the box before volleying it over United goalkeeper Raimond van der Gouw - was arguably one of the best Spurs have ever scored against the Red Devils.

Tottenham started the 2018/19 Premier League season in fine form, winning their first three games, the last of which was a commanding 3-0 victory over Manchester United.

After a goalless first half, Harry Kane broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, before a brace from Lucas Moura sealed the win for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

However, Spurs' bright start came to an abrupt halt a week later when they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road.

En route to winning the League Cup in 1998/99, Tottenham had to overcome Manchester United in the quarter-finals. United, sitting 2nd in the Premier League, were heavy favourites against Spurs, who were struggling in 12th place at the time.

However, a brace from Chris Armstrong and a stunning long-range strike from David Ginola, who tormented United’s defence that night, secured a memorable 3-1 victory.

With United securing a treble, Spurs were the only side to stop the Red Devils in this particular season with this win.

In a modern-day Spurs-United clash in December 2024, Ange Postecoglou’s side triumphed 4-3 over Ruben Amorim's Manchester United in the League Cup quarter-finals.

Spurs raced into a three-goal lead with a Dominic Solanke brace and a goal from Dejan Kulusevski, before United fought back through goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo after some calamitous defending.

Son Heung-min made it 4-2 late on, but veteran United defender Jonny Evans headed home in injury time to set up a nervy finish. Spurs held on to secure the win, setting up a semi-final clash with Liverpool, where they were beaten 4-1 on aggregate.

Back in the late 1980s, Tottenham were the superior side to Manchester United, who were still finding their feet under Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Lilywhites made their superiority clear when the two teams met in the First Division in May 1987, running out as comprehensive 4-0 winners thanks to a brace from Mitchell Thomas and goals from cousins Paul and Clive Allen.

Spurs finished the season in third, while United ended up in 11th.

Tottenham won the FA Cup in 1960/61 and looked poised to repeat the feat the following year when they faced Manchester United in the semi-finals.

In front of 65,000 fans at Hillsborough, the Lilywhites put on a stunning display, thumping the Red Devils 3-1, with Jimmy Greaves, Cliff Jones and Terry Medwin all finding the net for Bill Nicholson’s side.

Spurs went on to defeat Burnley by the same scoreline in the final, securing back-to-back FA Cup triumphs.

When Tottenham travelled to Old Trafford in September 2012, the Lilywhites hadn’t beaten Manchester United in any competition in over a decade, with their last win coming back in May 2001.

However, an early goal from defender Jan Vertonghen set the tone for change, before a second from Gareth Bale seemed to seal it.

After the break, there were three goals in three minutes. United pulled one back through Nani and Clint Dempsey extended Spurs' lead before Shinji Kagawa made it 3-2.

United pushed for an equaliser, but Andre Villas-Boas' side held firm.

Tottenham bid farewell to White Hart Lane in style, capping their most successful Premier League season to date with a 2-1 victory over Man Utd in the famous ground's final game.

Victor Wanyama scored early on before Harry Kane's finish just after the restart put Mauricio Pochettino's side in cruise control. Wayne Rooney would score the final goal at the old stadium but that did little to dampen the home team's spirits as they celebrated finishing second in the table - above Manchester City and Arsenal.

Spurs moved to Wembley the season after, though they are yet to top their 86-point haul from 2016/17, where they remained unbeaten at home and finished above rivals Arsenal for the first time in over 20 years.

In one of the most iconic Tottenham displays of recent times - and certainly their best against United - Spurs dismantled Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side at Old Trafford in October 2020, hammering United 6-1.

United took the lead with an early Bruno Fernandes penalty, but from that moment on, it was all Tottenham.

Tanguy Ndombele started the rout, before two goals apiece from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, plus a rare strike from defender Serge Aurier, sealed a momentous victory for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham hold direct talks with £55m star as Bayern give up on keeping him

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held direct talks with another Bayern Munich star recently - following their January loan deal for his Bavarian teammate Mathys Tel - and it is believed Vincent Kompany's side are resigned to losing him this summer.

Mathys Tel impresses for Tottenham after Bayern Munich switch

In what was one of the most dramatic winter window transfer stories, Tel pulled a full U-turn on his decision to join Spurs after originally snubbing the club's advances.

Chairman Daniel Levy personally flew to Munich for sit-down talks with the 19-year-old, who initially rejected the Lilywhites and their board member's offer to join Spurs before deadline day (Florian Plettenberg).

However, while Levy flew home empty-handed, it was under-fire Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou who apparently played a major role in helping to convince the teenager to make a move to north London.

"Daniel Levy flew to Munich last week because Johan Lange feared that his meeting and presentation with Mathys Tel didn’t have the desired impact," said L'Equipe reporter Loic Tanzi.

"After meeting with Levy, Tel communicated that he wasn’t going to join Spurs. It was as much about showing that he wouldn’t be forced into something by Bayern as it was about not being convinced by Spurs. Sunday evening, Ange Postecoglou spoke with Tel over the phone. Postecoglou put forward how he planed to use Tel, expressed how much he valued Tel’s versatility and speed, and expressed that he thought Tel could torment Premier League defences with his qualities."

Tel pen to paper on a temporary N17 switch, which includes an option to buy for in and around £50 million, and he's since impressed on-lookers with his enthusiasm in an otherwise dismally out-of-form side.

The Frenchman bagged his first goal for Tottenham in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Cup, and according to CaughtOffside, Tel could be joined at Hotspur Way by his Bayern colleague Leroy Sané.

Tottenham hold direct talks with Leroy Sané as Bayern stance revealed

The German, who cost Kompany's side around £55 million to sign from Man City in 2020, is set to be a free agent at the end of this season.

Bayern, despite their best efforts to tie him down with fresh terms, have "all but given up" on trying to keep the 29-year-old - giving Spurs a golden opportunity to snap him up at zero cost.
