Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry to sign a Europa League midfielder ahead of interest from the likes of Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Tottenham fall to first leg Europa League defeat against AZ Alkmaar

Spurs fell to a fourth defeat from their last six games in all competitions on Thursday evening, losing 1-0 to AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their last 16 Europa League tie.

An own-goal from Lucas Bergvall in the first half means Ange Postecoglou’s side have it all to do in the second leg, and the manager wasn’t impressed with what he saw from his Spurs side.

“It wasn't good, not a great result... actually the result was probably the best thing out of it in that we’re still very much in the tie. We were nowhere near the level we needed to be, a disappointing night overall.

“It's hard to say at the moment, but we just didn't get to grips with the game, at all. We know it was a tricky surface, we knew that from (training) yesterday, but we just didn't handle it well, really struggled with any sort of intent.

“We weren't aggressive with the ball, weren't aggressive without the ball and we just allowed the opposition to play the game on their terms. Every away game in Europe is tricky, we understand that, we prepared the players for that, but it’s fair to say we didn't handle it.”

To rub salt into the wound, striker Dominic Solanke was also replaced after suffering an injury and may now be in a race to take on his former side Bournemouth this weekend.

Away from the pitch, though, Tottenham appear to be working behind the scenes on potential summer signings, with Southampton forward Tyler Dibling linked with a move to north London.

Dibling reportedly wants to join Spurs after talks, whereas Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson is also on Tottenham’s radar.

Another midfielder of interest to Spurs appears to be Viktoria Pilsen midfielder Pavel Sulc, with an update recently emerging on the 24-year-old and a potential move to England.

Tottenham make enquiry over move for impressive midfielder

According to reports in the Czech Republic, relayed by Sport Witness, Tottenham have made an enquiry over a move to sign Sulc from Viktoria Pilsen.

Aston Villa have also made contact over Sulc, whereas Manchester City have sent scouts to watch the Czech Republic international.

Sulc is personally waiting for a ‘big transfer’, and with his current contract set to expire in 2026, Viktoria Pilsen could sell this summer instead of potentially losing him for free a year later.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, Sulc has enjoyed an excellent season so far, and by the looks of things, a move to England and Spurs could be one to keep an eye on over the coming months.

Tottenham Hotspur's 10 best matches in European football - ranked

Tottenham Hotspur's only chance of silverware this season is in the Europa League. Having failed to win a trophy since February 2008, going back a further 24 years for their last European trophy, the odds are stacked against them.

Ange Postecoglou has endured a dismal season at Spurs. Of course, his cause hasn't been helped by an injury crisis which has forced him to play certain players out of position throughout the campaign.

This has led to plenty of poor performances as the north Londoners currently occupy 13th place in the Premier League table, way short of expectations.

Unless they win the Europa League, Spurs won't be playing continental football next season, which will represent a huge blow.

The injury crisis might just buy Postecoglou some time in the dugout, but if results don’t change when he has a full-strength starting XI available, it could cost him his job.

There have been some positive performances this term. The two wins over Manchester City in the space of three weeks were a highlight, along with their impressive European displays which saw the club secure fourth place in the Europa League standings as they won five of their eight fixtures.

After a 1-0 defeat to AZ in the last 16, a big European night under the lights in north London will be needed. Here, we have taken a look at the 10 best European matches in Spurs' history to offer some inspiration.

Europa League last-16, first leg (2012/13)

This victory over Inter wasn't as seismic as the one from their maiden Champions League campaign in 2010/11, but it proved that Spurs could perform at their very best in Europe.

Having finished second in the group stage behind Serie A side Lazio, Spurs progressed to the knockout stages.

An impressive 3-2 aggregate victory over Lyon in the last 32 set up a tie against Inter, and the first leg at White Hart Lane certainly didn't disappoint.

Goals from Gareth Bale, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jan Vertonghen gave the home side a 3-0 win over the 2010 Champions League winners with one of the club's finest European results.

They lost the second leg 4-1, but progressed on away goals before losing to Basel in the quarter-finals.

UEFA Cup third round, second leg (1983/84)

Having won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1963 and the UEFA Cup in 1972, Spurs were going for their third European trophy during the 1983/84 season.

The Lilywhites lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the first leg of their third-round clash against the Germans, meaning all was to play for in north London.

Steve Archibald levelled the tie with 40 minutes left before Mark Falco netted a late winner, taking Spurs into the quarter-finals.

They reached the final and defeated Anderlecht 4-3 on penalties, marking the last European trophy won by Spurs.

Champions League quarter-final, second leg (2018/19)

While this may have been a defeat on the night, Spurs' gritty display at the Etihad saw them qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League in dramatic fashion.

The first leg finished 1-0 in favour of the north Londoners, and was followed by a frantic start to the second leg, as Man City went into half-time leading 3-2, trailing on away goals.

Sergio Aguero finally put City ahead in the tie during the second half, but Fernando Llorente levelled things up on aggregate once more to hand Spurs the advantage.

Entering the final minutes, City were desperately searching for a winner, and it looked as though Raheem Sterling had put the club through with in the last minute, only for VAR to incredibly rule it out as Spurs reached the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time.

Champions League last-16, first leg (2010/11)

Spurs had enjoyed a wonderful debut season in the Champions League group stages. Not only had they defeated defending champions Inter, but they managed to lose just once on their way to reaching the last 16.

Their reward? A tie against Milan. Harry Redknapp set his team up well at the San Siro that evening as a goal from Peter Crouch secured them a 1-0 victory. The game will be best remembered for the clash between Joe Jordan and Gennaro Gattuso on the touchline.

Champions League group stage (2010/11)

Earlier in the 2010/11 season, Spurs played host to Inter at White Hart Lane in the Champions League group stages. Gareth Bale had scored a stunning hat-trick in a 4-3 defeat to the same team a few weeks prior, but this was a different story.

Bale was the star of the show yet again, but this time, Spurs won. Goals from Rafael van der Vaart and Peter Crouch gave the home side a two-goal advantage before Samuel Eto'o reduced the arrears with 10 minutes to go.

Bale assisted Roman Pavlyuchenko to seal a wonderful 3-1 win that put the club on the brink of qualifying for the last 16 on a night that seemed to rekindle the famous "Glory Glory" nights in north London.

UEFA Cup final, second leg (1983/84)

Spurs reached their third UEFA Cup final in 12 years as they took on Anderlecht over two legs.

The first game in Brussels saw the teams draw 1-1, leaving the tie finely poised for the second leg in north London. That game also finished 1-1 thanks to a late goal from captain Graham Roberts and the match drifted into extra time.

No more goals were scored, with Spurs eventually winning the game on penalties to claim their second UEFA Cup.

UEFA Cup final, second leg (1971/72)

The 1971/72 season saw the inaugural edition of the UEFA Cup take place. It became the third competition organised by UEFA and was fairly similar in structure to the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, which had been played between 1955 and 1971.

Spurs would go on to play Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final of the competition, and enjoyed a relatively stress-free route to the final, defeating Milan in the semi-finals.

Spurs won the first leg 2-1 at Molineux before sealing their first UEFA Cup by drawing 1-1 with the Old Gold at White Hart Lane in the second leg.

European Cup Winners' Cup final (1962/63)

During the first half of the 1960s, Spurs were arguably the finest team in England. They became the first club to win the league and FA Cup double in the 20th century during the 1960/61 season, before retaining the FA Cup the following season.

The 1962/63 campaign saw Bill Nicholson's side fail to win any domestic honours, but they did reach the final of the Cup Winners' Cup after defeating Rangers, Slovan Bratislava and OFK Beograd to set up a final showdown against holders Atlético Madrid.

The Spanish side weren’t quite up to the level of their city rivals, Real Madrid, but still posed a challenge. However, Nicholson's side sent them packing with a stunning 5-1 victory.

Captain Danny Blanchflower rallied his side as doubles from Jimmy Greaves and Terry Dyson, plus a strike from John White, secured the club their first European trophy.

In the process, Spurs became the first British side to triumph in a European competition.

Champions League group stage (2017/18)

Mauricio Pochettino was building something special at Spurs, and the 2017/18 season was their second in the Champions League under his leadership.

They crashed out in the group stages during the 2016/17 season, but the following year was very different indeed.

Despite being in a group containing Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and APOEL, Spurs won five of their six matches, including a wonderful 3-1 win over Madrid.

A brace from Dele Alli and a goal from Christian Eriksen gave the home side a 3-0 lead before Cristiano Ronaldo netted a consolation.

Considering Madrid had won the competition in the previous two seasons - and would go on to secure a historic victory against Liverpool that year - this is arguably one of the best results in Spurs' history.

Champions League semi-final, second leg (2018/19)

The only victory that tops beating the all-conquering Real Madrid is the semi-final second-leg triumph over Ajax during the 2018/19 season.

Spurs lost the first leg 1-0, and when they went two goals down after just 35 minutes in Amsterdam, the tie looked dead and buried.

However, Lucas Moura scored twice in the space of five second-half minutes to give the away side a chance. All they needed was one more goal to reach their first Champions League final.

In the 96th minute, Moura was once again the hero. With seconds left, he latched onto a pass into the box before slotting home a left-footed effort into the bottom corner of the Ajax net, sparking boisterous scenes among the away supporters.

It was a stunning comeback that didn't look like happening just an hour before. This is certainly the finest European match in the club's history, without a shadow of a doubt. They lost the final to Liverpool, but supporters will forever remember the semi-final.

£35m Premier League forward wants to join Tottenham after talks

Tottenham Hotspur are apparently convinced that a potential £35 million Premier League forward is "sold" on joining Ange Postecoglou's side this summer, following behind-the-scenes talks with his camp.

Johan Lange making summer transfer plans at Tottenham

Technical director Johan Lange could orchestrate another summer rebuild at Spurs, with the squad potentially set to look very different by the start of 2025/2026.

This appears especially true in the forward department, as Timo Werner is widely expected to make a return to parent club RB Leipzig at the end of this season, while Tottenham are reportedly open to offers for Richarlison.

The Lilywhites, like many other Premier League sides, hold an interest in Flamengo right-back Wesley Franca defensively, among other key names, while journalist Pete O'Rourke recently reported that a new midfielder is high on Spurs' transfer agenda.

However, fresh attacking options are continuously being linked on a regular basis. It is claimed that Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is a top target for Postecoglou, while rumours continue to surround Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling.

TalkSPORT reported earlier this week that Tottenham are leading the race to sign Dibling, who looks nailed on to leave St. Mary's Stadium given the Saints are destined for a drop back down to the Championship.

Now, according to reliable journalist Ben Jacobs, Spurs are growing more and more confident that they'll sway the teenager to N17.

Tottenham convinced Tyler Dibling is "sold" on joining Spurs

Writing for GiveMeSport, Jacobs claims that Tottenham are convinced Dibling is "sold" on joining Spurs, and they've already held talks with his camp ahead of a potential move in the summer.

The north Londoners also theorise that they could strike a deal for the 19-year-old at around £30-35 million given Southampton's relegation status, even if Ivan Juric's side public valuation is around £50 million.

Dibling, who's bagged four goals and registered two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for Southampton this season, is widely regarded as one of the country's most exciting young talents.

Pundit Dion Dublin has likened the winger to Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer, with Danny Murphy also lavishing Dibling earlier in the campaign.

"The quality he has got - the belief in himself and the physical power," said Murphy. "He just goes past people with ease. He has got a lovely left foot. He is very brave on the ball and his decision-making is good. It is difficult to get too over the top with these young players, because he has just come on to the scene, but he is going to be something special.

"It is great for him getting all these minutes at Southampton. They are giving him the freedom to play and giving him time to learn the game.

"He is just enjoying himself and he is playing with a real belief in himself. He is just instrumental in this team."

Playing like Nico Williams: Spurs have "electric" Werner upgrade out on loan

With just over two months of the Premier League season left, the Tottenham Hotspur board should and likely will be thinking ahead to next season.

Ange Postecoglou's side have endured a rough campaign this year, and while they could still end with a bang in the Europa League, the club will be hoping and expecting more next year.

To ensure that happens, Daniel Levy and Co. will need to make some major adjustments to the squad regarding incomings, outgoings and loans.

For example, Timo Werner must not be signed on a permanent deal, and while the club should probably spend big on another winger, they also have another player who is out on loan who could come in as the German's replacement, a player who's been compared to Nico Williams.

Why Werner shouldn't be re-signed

When Spurs announced that Werner was going to be coming back to the club for a season-long loan last May, there was a mixed reaction from fans and pundits alike.

On the one hand, it was a relatively cheap way to bring in another attacking option who had shown some signs of promise here and there, but those on the other side pointed to his middling return of five goal involvements in 14 games last term and his £165k-per-week wages.

Unfortunately, ten months after that decision, it would be fair to say that those in the second camp have been proven correct.

For example, in 27 first-team appearances, the former Chelsea ace has scored one goal and provided just three assists, meaning he's averaged a goal involvement every 6.75 games for the Lilywhites.

On top of that, he's also missed 11 games through injury this season, and while that is not his fault, it is a problem for a loan player to miss that many games in one campaign.

In all, while there have been moments here and there when Werner has looked impressive, he's not been anywhere near consistent or impactful enough to justify his stay being extended or made permanent by Spurs.

Moreover, while the club will likely look to bring in a big-name replacement, one of their players out on loan this season has been turning heads and has even been compared to Williams.

Spurs' internal Werner replacement

So, there are a few Spurs players enjoying great campaigns out on loan this season, from Jamie Donely at Leyton Orient to Manor Solomon at Leeds United.

However, away from English football, in La Liga, Bryan Gil has also been stepping up for Girona and looks far more impressive than he has in recent years.

For example, in 31 appearances, the "electric" winger, as dubbed by former Eibar assistant coach Iñaki Bea, has scored four goals and provided three assists, which comes to an average of a goal involvement every 4.42 games.

Now, it's true that the Spaniard has never been able to cement a place for himself in the Lilywhites' first team and may well move to Girona on a permanent deal in the summer - they have an option after all - but with Werner likely to leave as well, it might make economic sense to keep him as an option off the bench.

Moreover, the 23-year-old has been so good this season that he has been compared to one of the most exciting wingers in Spain: Williams.

The comparison stems from FBref, which looks at players in similar positions in La Liga, then creates a list of the ten most comparable players for each one, and in this instance, has concluded that the Athletic Bilbao star is the seventh most similar attacking midfielder or winger to the Tottenham man.

The best way to see where this comparison has come from is to look at the underlying metrics in which the pair rank closely, including, but not limited to, non-penalty expected goals plus assists, shots on target, expected assists, crosses into the penalty area and more, all per 90.

Ultimately, Spurs will need a replacement for Werner next season, and while he has failed to deliver in campaigns prior, Gil has surely done enough on loan this year to warrant another chance to be that replacement, especially if he's being compared to such an exciting talent.

Tottenham face AZ Alkmaar in Europa League last 16

Spurs take on Eredivisie giants AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their last 16 clash in the Europa League this evening, with manager Ange Postecoglou revealing that winger Dejan Kulusevski will miss the tie with a foot injury.

Postecoglou could well benefit from the full returns of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke, who have all been missing for weeks, but the Australian was coy over their chances of starting tonight.

"We’ll see, we'll train today," said Postecoglou in his latest pre-match press conference. "Obviously they've all out for significant amount of time so we'll see when we reintroduce them but they're all here and training today, so we'll make decisions after that."

Spurs' boss will be eager to reintroduce as many first-team stars as possible before the next international break, and the Europa League represents their only chance of winning any major silverware in Postecoglou's second season in charge.

"I think it is fair to say the boys really understand there is a great opportunity for us," said Postecolgou on the Europa League. I think they’ve appreciated the fact that the guys who have been playing through are now able to recover and train and prepare themselves better for games.

"That’s coincided with seeing their teammates come back and certainly the guys that have been out injured, we’ve already seen with guys like Vic, Brennan, Madders to a lesser extent (due to time out) but Wilson, Destiny, they’ve come back with a real hunger and desire to help the team because I think they’ve all been frustrated to sit on the sidelines and see how difficult it has for the group of players who have been playing. They’ve just wanted to help and now they get that opportunity.

"Again, I think you sense that in the group that they appreciate they have some support and some help. There is a platform there for us to hopefully get back to playing our football and seeing how far we can progress."

Tottenham open talks with Flamengo defender Wesley Franca

According to RTI Esporte, the Lilywhites are also preparing for next season by making enquiries over key targets, and one of them is believed to be Flamengo defender Wesley Franca.

As per their information, Tottenham have held talks with Franca's representatives, but they're by no means the only Premier League side who are keen on a move for the right-back.

Cross-town rivals Arsenal also made contact with his camp this week, to gauge the conditions of a potential deal, with Franca's price tag believed to stand at around £29 million.

"Excellent" £21m ace increasingly likely to sign for Spurs and replace Bissouma

An "excellent" midfielder is now increasingly likely to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer, having put in some impressive performances in recent weeks, according to a report.

Bissouma set to be replaced as Spurs plan for the long-term

Yves Bissouma has received regular game time ever since arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, but the midfielder has started to play a less crucial role this season, often being utilised as a substitute or left on the bench.

As such, there have been reports suggesting Ange Postecoglou is ready to cash-in on the former Brighton man this summer, which means the manager will need to bring in a replacement, and a number of targets have been identified.

Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, who is valued at around £66m, is one of the names on the list, alongside Real Betis' Johnny Cardoso, with reports from February revealing Spurs are leading the race for the American's signature due to a clause that allows them first option on the midfielder.

GiveMeSport have now dropped a new update on Tottenham's pursuit of Cardoso, reporting the Lilywhites are now increasingly likely to trigger the midfielder's £21m clause to bring him to north London this summer.

Positive talks were held with Betis back in August, and the 23-year-old has continued to impress since then, most recently catching the eye with a solid performance against Real Madrid in La Liga last weekend.

In light of the central midfielder's impressive display, Spurs are now confident forking out £21m would be a savvy investment, but they are continuing to analyse whether he would be a good fit.

The defensive midfielder could be brought in as a direct replacement for Bissouma, with Postecoglou deciding this summer could be the right time to cash-in on the Mali international.

"Excellent" Cardoso impressing in La Liga

The Betis star put in a solid performance against Real Madrid last time out, scoring the opening goal in his side's 2-1 triumph, but as pointed out by freelance scout Ben Mattinson, he tends to sit in deeper areas and flourishes defensively.

This assessment is corroborated by the fact the USA international has performed extremely well on several key defensive metrics over the past year, which suggests he could be a real upgrade on Bissouma.

It was a savvy move for Tottenham to negotiate a £21m release clause for Cardoso, which seems to be way below his value, judging by how he's performed in La Liga, and if he continues to impress they should undoubtedly stump up the £21m this summer.

Ange can forget about Kulusevski by unleashing "incredible" Spurs star

Description

After succumbing to their first Premier League defeat since January last time out, Tottenham Hotspur return to Europa League action tonight.

Ange Postecoglou's side have endured a torrid year on the domestic front this season, but they have looked far more dangerous in European competition.

The North Londoners finished the league stage of the competition in fourth place, with five wins, two draws and just a single defeat to their name, allowing them to bypass the play-off round altogether.

However, things can never be easy for the Lilywhites, as they will have to take on AZ Alkmaar without the sensational Dejan Kulusevski - although Ange may have just the solution within his squad.

Why Kulusevski can't play against AZ Alkmaar

He has had impressive campaigns in the past, but it would probably be fair to describe this season as Kulusevski's best in a Spurs shirt.

Despite moving between playing on the wing and in the middle of the park, the Swedish international has remained remarkably effective for much of the year.

In just 42 appearances, totalling 3054 minutes, the Stockholm-born dynamo has scored ten goals and provided ten assists.

That means the former Juventus ace has averaged a goal involvement every 2.1 games, or every 152.7 minutes, so the news that he's now out injured is a real problem.

When speaking to the press yesterday afternoon, Postecoglou confirmed that the 24-year-old had a "knock on the foot" and that while it's "nothing serious" he is "unlikely to be back before the international break."

It's not an ideal situation ahead of a crucial knockout game, but fortunately, there is an incredibly talented player within the squad who should be able to cover for his output in the middle of the park.

The Spurs star who can cover for Kulusevski

For once, it feels as if Postecoglu has a few options for how to cover for an injured player, but to ensure his side remain a serious attacking threat, there is only one answer: James Maddison.

Behind the former Juve star, there is a strong argument that the Englishman is the squad's most creative and dangerous midfielder, so keeping him in the lineup in light of the news around the Swede makes perfect sense to us.

Moreover, while the former Leicester City star can run hot and cold at times, he's actually been reasonably effective this season.

In his 34 appearances so far, totalling just 2039 minutes, the "incredible" ace, as dubbed by talent scout Jacek Kulig, has scored ten goals and provided seven assists.

That means he's currently averaging a goal involvement every other game, or every 119.94 minutes, which is actually quite a bit better than Kulusevski.

On top of that, FBref has placed him in the top 1% of Premier League midfielders for actual and expected non-penalty goals, the top 5% for assists and progressive passes, the top 3% for shot-creating actions and more, all per 90.

Ultimately, not having Kulusevski fit for selection is undoubtedly an issue, but in Maddison, Spurs have an incredibly dynamic midfielder who can come in and make up for his absence.

Worth more than Spence & Gray combined: Spurs struck gold on "monster" star

It might not feel like it, but there have been at least a few positives for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Ange Postecoglou's side may have fallen down the Premier League table and out of both domestic cups, but the massive number of injuries they've had to deal with has seen several youngsters and lesser fancied players come into the fold.

For example, Archie Gray has become an integral member of the first team at full-back and centre-back, while Djed Spence has come in from the cold and now looks undroppable.

Yet, as brilliant as the pair have been, one of their teammates is still worth more than both of them combined.

How Gray and Spence stack up to other full-backs

As most fans know, Gray is primarily a central midfielder, with respected analyst Ben Mattinson even claiming he's a "future £100m" star in that position.

However, due to the sheer number of injuries Postecoglu has had to contend with, the youngster has played in defence more than anywhere else this term, making seven appearances at right-back and five at left-back.

So, as someone filling in, how does he stack up to other full-backs?

Well, according to FBref, when compared to others in the same position across Europe's top five leagues, the Champions League and Europa League, he does quite well, sitting in the top 1% of players for medium passes completed, shots blocked, the top 2% for carries, the top 5% for progressive passing distance, the top 6% for live ball passes and more, all per 90.

Likewise, Spence, who looked like he was on the way out of the club in the summer, has now become an indispensable part of the first team, racking up 20 appearances in all competitions, in which he's scored two goals and provided two assists.

He, too, comes out looking good when compared to other full-backs, with FBref placing him in the top 2% for shots blocked, the top 3% for all blocks and successful take-ons, the top 5% for short pass completion, the top 7% for tackles won, the top 10% for carries into the final third and more, all per 90.

In all, both players have more than made their mark on the team this season, yet one of their defensive teammates is worth millions more than the pair combined.

The Spurs star worth millions more than Spence & Gray

While he hasn't played as much football this season, Destiny Udogie is the defender worth millions more than both Spence and Gray.

According to Football Transfers, the former Middlesbrough star is worth up to €12.3m, which is about £10m, and the former Leeds United gem is worth up to €40.7m, which is about £34m.

However, the Italian international is priced at up to a staggering €66.7m, which is around £56m, or about £12m more than both Spence and Gray combined.

Now, that may sound excessive to some of you, and perhaps it is somewhat, but such a valuation will be mostly based on his incredible form last season.

For example, in what was his first taste of English football, the Verona-born "monster," as dubbed by journalist Travis Levison, made 30 appearances, in which he scored two goals and provided three assists.

On top of that, the 22-year-old was also the first Tottenham player ever to be nominated for the Premier League's Young Player of the Season award.

Finally, as well as still being young and therefore having plenty of time to get better, the former Udinese gem also has a contract set to run until the summer of 2030, which will undoubtedly impact his valuation.

Ultimately, Spurs now look to be in an incredible position when it comes to their full-back options - when all fit - and it'll be interesting to see who becomes Postecoglou's go-to option on either side in the future.

Spurs now leading race for £50m forward who's expected to leave this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are now leading the race for an "incredible" forward, who Daniel Levy believes may be available for less than the initial £50m+ asking price, according to a report.

Tottenham pursuing new forwards

Tottenham are keen to strengthen their frontline in the summer transfer window, and Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg has now revealed they have expressed an interest in signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, who is also a target for Arsenal.

Not only are Spurs interested in an out-and-out striker, but they are also pursuing new wingers, having been left a little light on options in attack at times this season, given the injury crises they've had to endure.

Barcelona's Ferran Torres is one of the players under consideration, while the Lilywhites are also leading the race for Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze, who has been identified as Ange Postecoglou's top target ahead of the summer transfer window.

Eze is not the only Premier League winger Tottenham are thought to be leading the race for, however, with TalkSPORT revealing they are in pole position to sign Southampton's Tyler Dibling, who is now expected to leave at the end of the season.

With the Saints almost certain to be relegated from the top flight, Dibling is set to move on, having been left unhappy by the new deal he has been offered to extend his stay at St. Mary's.

Given the 19-year-old's unhappiness with the contract offer on the table, Levy believes Southampton will struggle to stick to their £50m+ valuation, potentially opening the door for a move to north London.

However, the teenager is also attracting attention from Aston Villa and Newcastle United, who have lodged enquiries, so it may not be straightforward to get a deal done this summer.

"Incredible" Dibling could flourish in a better team

It has been a breakthrough season for the Exeter-born winger, who has established himself as a first-team regular for the Saints, making 28 appearances in all competitions.

However, given Southampton's struggles, collecting just nine points in the Premier League, it has been difficult for the youngster to regularly show his true abilities, providing just two league goals.

Southampton reporter Alfie House has lauded the starlet as "incredible", indicating he could be capable of getting on the scoresheet more regularly in a better side, so it is promising news that Spurs are now leading the race for his signature.

That said, the original asking price of over £50m is a little steep, considering the Saints will be in a weak negotiating position if they are relegated from the Premier League, which will inevitably deter the Englishman from signing a new contract.

The widespread interest in Dibling's signature could drive up the asking price, but Tottenham should be careful not to overpay for a player who is still yet to prove himself as a consistent source of goals and assists.

Tottenham Hotspur are now monitoring an "insane" midfielder, with a summer transfer possible if they are willing to pay the £50m+ asking price, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.

Tottenham planning midfield rebuild

Tottenham are planning to rejig their midfield in the summer transfer window, with manager Ange Postecoglou now making the call to cash-in on Yves Bissouma, in order to fund a move for Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, who is expected to cost around £66m.

Bissouma has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, namely Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Everton, and the 28-year-old's time in north London could be coming to an end, having played a more sporadic role in recent weeks.

Wharton is not the only midfielder on the shortlist, however, with AS Monaco's Lamine Camara also of interest, while Spurs are also in the race to sign Sunderland's Jobe Bellingham, who could be allowed to leave the Championship club for a big fee this summer.

Not only are Tottenham in the running for the Sunderland star, but they are also one of the clubs keen on signing a player who's drawn comparisons to his brother Jude.

Plettenberg has recently confirmed Spurs are now "monitoring" Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson, who is attracting widespread interest ahead of the summer transfer window, with Arsenal, Liverpool and several other unnamed teams also keen.

A summer move is said to be a possibility, should Frankfurt receive a fee of at least €60m (£50m), with the German club expecting "concrete offers" to be put forward.

"Insane" Larsson could be an excellent signing

Freelance scout Ben Mattinson has lauded Larsson as being "very similar to Bellingham", while also praising him for his engine and ability to drive the ball forward.

Postecoglou is well-known for his high-pressing, attacking style, which means it is important to have players with good stamina, indicating the Frankfurt star could be a perfect fit for the Australian's system.

Not only that, but the Swedish midfielder has also proven himself to be a consistent goal threat, ranking in the 89th percentile for non-penalty goals per 90 over the past year, when compared to his positional peers.

At just 20-years-old, Larsson could be a fantastic long-term addition to Postecoglou's squad, so it is promising news Tottenham could be in the race for his signature this summer.
