Tottenham Hotspur ‘are still trying’ to do a deal with Crystal Palace for defender Marc Guehi, but the clock is working against them, according to the Independent.

Spurs were successful in bringing in Kevin Danso from Lens on an initial loan at the weekend, beating Wolves to his signature.

Ange Postecoglou would like another centre-back though and after failing to convince Axel Disasi, Spurs have turned towards an ambitious swoop for Guehi.

They have so far been unable to do a deal with the Eagles, but are still trying.

Spurs’ first offer came in at £70m for the England international, but that was not enough to convince Palace to do business.

With the clock ticking down on the transfer window, there are worries Spurs have left it too late to do the deal.

How long Spurs are prepared to persist for Guehi remains to be seen, especially with the clock ticking.

The defender may also feel it is better to wait until the summer and then assess his options.

Tottenham Hotspur are also exploring a deal for an unnamed centre-back after failing with their bid for Marc Guehi, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

On Sunday, Spurs managed to sign Kevin Danso from Lens and they are still desperate to get their hands on another centre-back.

Tottenham rivalled Aston Villa in their hunt for Chelsea’s Axel Disasi and agreed to a deal with the Blues.

However, the 26-year-old defender rebuffed Spurs’ approach and they decided to give up on his chase.

Tottenham made a desperate approach with a major offer for Crystal Palace’s Guehi on the deadline day.

However, Crystal Palace swiftly rejected their offer as they are keen on keeping the English international at the club beyond this window.

It has been claimed that Tottenham have another unnamed centre-back option on their list of targets and they are considering a deal.

Spurs have yet to give up their hope on signing a second centre-back in the ongoing window and they are now racing against time to complete a deal.

Tottenham Hotspur have decided to give up on trying to sign Aston Villa target Axel Disasi, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Chelsea centre-back Disasi has been the centre of transfer drama in the ongoing window, with Spurs and Villa in a tug of war for his signature.

The Blues are reluctant to sanction Disasi’s departure to their European spot rivals Aston Villa in the current window.

However, the London outfit have no problem with the centre-back joining Tottenham, if the terms are right.

Chelsea have agreed to a deal with Spurs, but Disasi is not interested in joining Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Spurs, who are keen on signing a defender, tried to convince the 26-year-old on a move in the window.

But they have now decided to withdraw themselves from the race for Disasi and Aston Villa are still trying to sign him.

It is suggested that the centre-back is keen on joining Villa, but the decision now remain with Chelsea whether they will let him join Unai Emery’s side.

Tottenham Hotspur’s newest signing did not pass medical tests with another club that were looking to snap him up in what makes for a ‘sensational backstory’, it has been claimed.

Spurs have been crying out for new signings in this transfer window, with Ange Postecoglou struggling under the weight of injuries.

Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky came in, but signing a defender proved to be tougher, with Fikayo Tomori snubbing Spurs.

On Saturday night, Spurs hijacked Wolves’ swoop for Kevin Danso and he has joined from Lens on loan with an obligation to buy – but he almost joined Juventus.

The Turin giants wanted Danso and even got as far as giving him a medical in a ‘secret location’, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia.

In what is dubbed a ‘sensational backstory’, he then did not pass the medical tests that Juventus gave him.

As such, the Italian giants decided to pull out of the deal, which is suggested to have been received badly by Lens.

Danso will now look to establish himself as an important part of Postecoglou’s side to help the north Londoners have a much better second half of the season.

He will also look to stay injury free, to clock as many minutes as possible for Spurs.

A move Tottenham Hotspur have made in the transfer market left another club ‘incredibly frustrated’.

Spurs have had to enter the winter transfer window due to a raft of injuries which have derailed their form and reduced Ange Postecoglou’s options.

Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky came in through the door, while Spurs have just landed defender Kevin Danso from Lens.

Danso was on course to join Wolves, who looked to have beaten off a host of other clubs to land him and booked him in for a medical on Sunday.

However, late on Saturday night, Danso’s camp informed Wolves he would not be attending the medical as he was going to Tottenham.

Wolves thought the deal was done and Spurs’ hijack left them ‘incredibly frustrated’, according to journalist John Percy.

Emmanuel Agbadou has been Wolves’ only centre-back signing in this window but they want one more.

Tottenham have signed Danso on loan until the end of the season, but with an obligation to buy, meaning that the move is effectively a permanent one for the Austria international.

Danso will head to Molineux in April when Tottenham take on Wolves in the Premier League.

Aston Villa being rivals to Chelsea for a top four spot in the Premier League is working against them being able to loan in Tottenham Hotspur target Axel Disasi.

Disasi has been a bit part player for Chelsea in the ongoing window and the Blues have been open to letting him go if the deal on the table is right.

Aston Villa are keen on adding a defender after letting Diego Carlos go and Disasi is high on their transfer wish list.

Villa’s Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have also joined the race to take him on loan.

Chelsea are ‘reluctant’ to loan Disasi to rivals for a Champions League spot and view Aston Villa as falling within that bracket, according to talkSPORT.

It has been suggested that Disasi is keen to leave the Stamford Bridge outfit in the search for regular football.

Aston Villa are currently in eighth place in the league table with 37 points from 24 games and are three points off fifth placed Chelsea.

Unai Emery is also adding to his squad with the arrival of Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain and Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.

Chelsea ‘would not block’ a move to Tottenham Hotspur for Axel Disasi ‘if the terms are right’, according to the BBC.

Spurs have just brought in Kevin Danso from Lens on loan with an obligation to buy to boost their options in defence.

Ange Postecoglou continues to want another defender though and he is keen on Chelsea’s Disasi.

It has been suggested that Chelsea would not like to loan Disasi to Spurs given their status as rivals, but that is wide of the mark.

Chelsea would not block the move from happening if the terms on the table were right.

Any blockage of the switch would be down to Disasi himself and what he wants to do.

Aston Villa are also keen on signing the Chelsea centre-back as they look to improve their own defensive options.

While Aston Villa may be a threat to Chelsea’s top four ambitions this season though, Spurs are not as they are in the bottom half of the table.

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘still considering’ rivalling Aston Villa for a centre-back, but there is a ‘big loan fee’ that is being demanded, according to The Guardian.

Spurs have just brought in Kevin Danso from French side Lens on loan with an obligation to buy, but they could still do more defensive shopping.

Ange Postecoglou wants to shore things up at the back and Danso may not be the only fresh face at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by Monday night.

Spurs are considering rivalling Aston Villa for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, with Villa having trouble closing the deal due to the high loan fee demanded.

Unai Emery has spoken to Disasi and he is happy to make the move, but Spurs could come in strongly.

Postecoglou has seen his defensive options regularly stretched throughout the season due to repeated injuries.

The Australian does not want to be short of bodies again as he fights to keep Spurs away from the drop zone.

The Lilywhites could be in for a busy deadline day as things stand as they also chase attacking players.

A Tottenham Hotspur star has ‘deep respect’ for the manager of a club keen on signing him, but there is ‘zero chance’ of a winter transfer window move.

Spurs are stepping up their efforts in the transfer market as the window approaches it climax and are set to sign defender Kevin Danso from Lens.

They have already landed goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky and boss Ange Postecoglou wants another attacker in through the door.

One of their own attackers is a wanted man though as it is suggested Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho wants a reunion with Heung-Min Son in Istanbul.

However, a move now looks off the table.

Son has ‘deep respect’ for Mourinho, according to Korean journalist Jason Lee, but he will not be able to agree to join the Yellow Canaries now.

Tottenham are currently short in the forward department and they do want to lose their captain Son in this window.

It is suggested there is ‘zero chance’ that a move can happen now.

The summer though could be a different story.

Son has been a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s squad and has netted six goals while assisting six times for Spurs in the league this season.

Wolves have been informed ‘in the last few moments’ that Kevin Danso is going to Tottenham Hotspur, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

An agreement is in place between Wolves and French side Lens for Danso to move to Molineux on loan until the end of the season.

The defender has been expected at Molineux on Sunday to complete his medical and then put pen to paper to the loan deal.

Spurs, in desperate need of a centre-back, have jumped into the race though and were trying to hijack Wolves’ swoop.

It appears they have now succeeded as Wolves have been informed that Danso is going to Tottenham.

The lure of linking up with Ange Postecoglou in north London appears to have been too good to turn down for the Austria international.

Whether there is time for Wolves to respond and try to wrestle Danso back to Molineux remains to be seen.

Danso has been looked at by a host of clubs in the transfer window, with both Aston Villa and Juventus holding talks about potentially signing him.
