Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a magnificent summer transfer window as they brought some headline players to Hotspur Way while ensuring that the surplus at White Hart Lane were shipped off. And as Ange Postecoglou enjoys the aftereffects of adding quality to his roster at N17, the chiefs in the cubicles of Tottenham are already pondering to set up a blueprint for the 2025 transfer intervals.

The club are said to be looking at Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, a player that they looked at in the previous window; however, there are no move materials for the 22-year-old, and Spurs are said to continue his pursuit.

Tottenham target Sudakov amid Arsenal interest

Georgiy Sudakov has been a highly touted midfielder, and hence the Lilywhites neighbors. Arsenal have also expressed interest in landing the Ukrainian; however, per Football Insider, it is Tottenham who are looking to give pursuing his signatures an extra rev. That being said, it will be difficult to land the midfielder as his potential means Shakhtar Donetsk will likely ask for hefty fees.

The 22-year-old can become an integral figure at White Hart Lane over the long term if Levy chooses to pursue his services.

Sudakov has a versatile profile; while primarily an attacking midfielder, he can also feature in multiple roles, including out wide, and he is certain to bring a creative outlet at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham have been looking to add depth to the attacking midfield role owing to injury and consistency concerns around James Maddison and could just be the answer to their problems. While competition for places remains a major question mark to pursue the player, he is likely to get the same at Arsenal as well, possibly more difficult given their set quality and system.

Former Tottenham keeper backs Werner amid criticism

Tottenham Hotspur had a roller coaster of a season with a slow start shadowing all the goods that Ange Postecoglou had done in the previous campaign; however, a five-game winning streak followed. But as things looked on a high, a horrendous defeat against Brighton had all the cards falling down once again. By no manner it was a horrible scoreline (3-2), though the manner of the defeat was what made it a talk among the supporters.

The club, head coach, and players received ample criticism, and among them who was cornered by fans and pundits alike was Spurs forward Timo Werner.

Werner has been notching some consistent minutes under his belt following Heung Min Son’s injury, and this was the German international’s opportunity to impress; however, the former Chelsea ace has been missing a good set of opportunities coming his way.

Robinson defends Werner despite struggles

And former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson has come to Werner’s defence despite his problems in the final third. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Robinson insists that Werner is always working hard and grinding through games despite his lack of output.

He said:

“I think he’s a good player, he just lacks end product. Against Brighton, in the first half, he was probably one of the best players on the pitch for Spurs. He was a great outlet and he had the beating of his man.

“In the second half, Veltmen took care of that problem, bumping him off the ball, but he was excellent in the first half. A lot of the good came through Timo Werner.

“I do think there is an issue with his lack of productivity, goals and assists. It’s there for all to see. His work rate is what I like, though. You just can’t rely on him for goals and creativity, though that can be worked on.”

Ange Postecoglou, to a certain extent, will definitely agree with Robinson, as his decision to have him in the squad and give him consistent minutes does suggest that the Greek-born head coach knows there are good players in Timo.

However, with Son expected to return from his injury, it is difficult to see Werner getting minutes from the get-go in the Premier League.

Van Dijk hails Son as one of the Premier League's finest finishers

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has hailed Tottenham Hotspur skipper Heung Min Son as one of the best finishes in the English top tier, as the Dutchman recollects an iconic moment from when the sides rubbed shoulders in 2019.

The Reds skipper sat down with Premier League’s YouTube channel to discuss and recall some of his more memorable moments. And as he recollected his thoughts on those sequences, he speaks about a fixture against Tottenham where the Dutch defender managed to deal with a two-vs.-one situation with Moussa Sissoko and Heung-Min Son running towards the goal.

Reds skipper recalls iconic Son moment from 2019 clash

With a two-versus-one situation developing and Sissoko having the ball on his left foot, VVD had to ensure that the Frenchman didn’t square the ball to Heung Min Son. And apart from blocking the pathway to the South Korean, the former Southampton defender managed to put enough pressure on Sissoko that he had to shoot from his weaker foot.

Speaking on the channel, Virgil van Dijk said:

-> Tottenham interested in signing another Bournemouth star after Dominic Solanke

“It all goes very quickly, he could’ve scored that quickly, but in that split second I’m thinking don’t play the ball to Son, I cover that line and I block that line because I think Son is one of the best finishers in the Premier League, left and right footed.

“Knowing that Sissoko was a right-footed player that was the decision I had to make, basic defending but it worked very well.”

If that ball was squared to Son, who is possibly one of the best players in such transitional situations, it was a probable goal. The fact that Van Dijk speaks about how, as a defender, you have to be wary of Son’s threat from both feet shows how highly revered talent Son possesses.

The South Korean has netted 164 goals and has laid 86 assists in 415 games for Tottenham since joining in 2015.

As Spurs navigate their objectives to qualify in the Champions League in the ongoing season, Son will come integral if Spurs were to achieve those. And his ability to make something out of nothing makes him a constant threat, and these comments by Van Dijk suggest exactly that.

Viktoria Plzeň midfielder Pavel Šulc targeted by Tottenham and Aston Villa

Every once in a while a few players arrive on the scene whose numbers and contracts make them too good a prospect to miss out on.

One such player has appeared on Tottenham’s radar, though they are not the only side in England looking at him.

Viktoria Plzeň midfielder Pavel Šulc targeted by Tottenham and Aston Villa

As reported by TBR Football, Tottenham are one of three main names in the Premier League that have emerged as potential destinations for Viktoria Plzeň midfielder Pavel Šulc.

The attacking midfielder, capable of operating both centrally and out wide, has been part of Viktoria Plzeň’s senior setup since the 2020/21 season. After a string of loan spells, he has finally come into his own as a serial provider of goals and assists from the middle of the pitch.

Last season, the Czechia international delivered 22 goals and eight assists to the Fortuna Liga side in 49 games across all competitions. He has started this season in fine fashion too, having already to his name six goals and three assists in 16 appearances.

Valued by Transfermarkt at €8 million, the 23-year-old has his current contract running out in June 2026.

Man City and Aston Villa are also looking at Šulc.

The next bargain?

Of course, one needs to take into account the fact that the difference of quality between the Czech and English topflights is fairly substantial.

Even taking that into account, when one looks at Šulc’s age, recent numbers, current contract, and market valuation, it’s hard not to reach the conclusion that he looks like a punt worth taking.

Some big names are linked with the Czech youngster right now, though it won’t be too big a surprise if he were to be poached away by a bottom-half Premier League side this season. Any which way, a big move looks imminent for Šulc.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking at a move for Bournemouth wide forward Antoine Semenyo ahead of 2025 transfer windows as Ange Postecoglou looks to fortify his offensive options.

The North Londoners have shown keen interest in acquiring a top-talented winger in the past couple of transfer windows as they look to build a solid yet unpredictable wide unit at White Hart Lane.

Daniel Levy added Wilson Odobert to the roster at Tottenham Hotspur Way in the recently concluded summer transfer window, who is a Spurs alternative for Nico Williams. And they are now looking at another highly rated winger who has been putting in some exemplary performances in the Premier League.

Spurs could raid Bournemouth again

The Lilywhites are interested in landing Antoine Semenyo, per GiveMeSport, as they look to raid Bournemouth once again. Spurs already snatched star striker Dominic Solanke from the Cherries just a few months ago, and it looks like they are ready to sign another player from Vitality Stadium.

The 24-year-old moved to Dean Court at the start of 2023 and has taken commendable strides since, and he has already made 55 appearances donning the Bournemouth badge on his chest while finding the net twelve (12) times and bagging three (3) assists in the process.

-> Tottenham looking to add 18-year-old breakout starlet to the squad

His growth has compounded since the turn of the campaign, as the Ghanian has enjoyed a thunderous start to the 2024/25 season, scoring three goals and recording one assist in seven league appearances.

Tottenham looking at Semenyo

Semenyo’s versatile profile means he can feature along the front line, and Ange Postecoglou wants to bring that mobility to his squad as Levy prepares to knock on Bournemouth doors once again.

For Bournemouth, they would want to keep hold of the player as it would be a big blow to lose two of their most important attackers in two windows; however, Semenyo’s desire, complemented by the sum that Spurs are willing to offer, will have a big say in the conclusion.

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a spectacular summer transfer window as the Lilywhites brought some exceptional talent to White Hart Lane while ensuring that they cleared the surplus at Hotspur Way; however, Daniel Levy missed one highly rated player in his bid to make the transfer window an exceptional one; Spurs were subject to aggressive links with Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, although no move was concluded despite links.

The North Londoners are expected to put their hat in the race for the England international once again in 2025; however, the competition is expected to be more intense this time around, with Manchester City and Arsenal also interested in Eze’s signatures.

Tottenham tracking Eze ahead of 2025 move

Former Lilywhites goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who remains very well connected among the cubicles at Hotspur Way, insists that the club is keeping a close eye on the player and his performances for the Eagles as well as England this year. Speaking in the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, he insists that should the Arsenal Hale End academy reject step up at Selhurst Park in the ongoing campaign, Spurs would be among the clubs vying for his signatures.

That being said, it has been a slow start to the campaign for the 26-year-old and his current employers, who remain without a win in the premier seven games of the English top tier.

Robinson: Spurs could make move for Eze next summer

Eze has two years remaining on his current contract at Palace, and the Eagles could be tempted to accept an offer along the lines of £50-60 million in the summer of 2025.

-> Podcast host expects £12 million centre-back to go on loan next summer

Speaking to Football Insider, Robinson said:

“An attack-minded midfielder is something they are looking at alongside James Maddison. Eze, depending on how this season goes with Crystal Palace, will sit down and see where his future lies.”

“It’ll be a tough one to get done in the winter. He’s under contract until 2027, so come next summer he’ll have two years left on his contract.”

“I fully expect there to be interest in Eze if he has a good season for Palace this year and plays well for England as well. There’ll be a number of clubs ready to take him away from Selhurst Park next year.”

“The top clubs in England will all be after him. The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are all admirers of Eze and are keeping tabs on his situation ahead of next summer’s transfer window.”

-> Tottenham journalist hammers ‘weak’ 21 y/o with 3/10 rating for Brighton display

It is going to be tricky for Tottenham to land Eze if all the aforementioned clubs are invested, and a lot could depend on whether Ange Postecoglou’s side can qualify for the Champions League for the next campaign.

Tottenham linked to free agent David as Richarlison replacement

Tottenham Hotspur went into the last summer with clarity about signing a new striker at White Hart Lane, and they did exactly so when they forked out £65 million to bring Dominic Solanke as the Lilywhites looked to fill the Harry Kane void in the offensive line. While Daniel Levy has fixed one aspect of the striking options, another hold has opened up in the roster upfront.

Former Everton striker Richarlison has been an inconsistent presence in the Spurs roster, with his consistent injuries keeping him sidelined from representing the North Londoners on a regular basis. The chiefs at Hotspur Way are said to be growing frustrated with the Brazilian international, and they are looking to ship him away from N17 in the upcoming windows.

Spurs are looking to replace Richy with Jonathan David in 2025, and they may secure his signatures on a free transfer.

Spurs eyeing Jonathan David to partner Solanke

Tottenham had been linked with a move for the South American player in the past summer window; however, Daniel Levy opted to rather sign Solanke over the 24-year-old forward, and that may still happen yet again as the Canadian is scheduled to move away from his current employers at the end of his contract with the French side at the end of the ongoing campaign, per Spanish news outlet Sport.

The report states that the Lilywhites are still interested in the player who seems to be on the radar for a number of elite sides, including Barcelona, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus, and Inter Milan.

There are also expectations that a number of sides have already contacted Jonathan David’s representatives, who can start speaking with clubs in January to sign a pre-agreement ahead of his contract expiry.

For Tottenham, they would want to create a dynamic partnership between the two strikers where Solanke and David could complement each other’s playing styles, with the latter’s physicality and ability to hold up play pairing well with the former’s pace and finishing skills.

Podcast host urges Tottenham to sell Richarlison

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has been a frustrating figure at Hotspur Way as his injury concerns continue to keep him on the sidelines on a consistent basis. The Brazilian international has just featured for 25 minutes in the 2024/25 campaign, and there are expectations that he will continue to serve the sidelines for some time.

The former Watford star has endured difficult spells in finding his feet since arriving in North London from Everton. Beyond that purple patch he enjoyed in the middle of the previous campaign, which saw him score eleven goals, Richy has continued to struggle at Hotspur Way.

To put it into perspective, the striker has only netted 15 goals for Tottenham in 68 appearances across a couple of seasons donning the Spurs badge. And considering the fact that Daniel Levy forked out £60m to attain his services, many could consider his transfer a failure.

It looks like the injury problems have continued to aid the player in the new campaign as well, and that gives a good reason for Spurs to cut ties with Richy and accept their loss.

Wenham wants Richarlison sold in January

John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, wants to see the centre forward shipped off in the winter transfer window as he urges the Lilywhites chiefs to take a ‘huge financial loss’ on the Brazil international.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:

“It was time to cut ties with him in the summer, he’s never available. It’s very frustrating because when he is fit, he has shown that he can make a massive contribution. We need him, but he’s just not there for us and he can’t be relied upon. Therefore, he must be sold in January. Something will have to be done to try and encourage him to leave. Levy needs to accept the huge financial loss. We cannot keep going with this situation.”

Real Madrid see Porro as alternative to Trent Alexander

Tottenham Hotspur are undergoing a new project under Ange Postecoglou, one where they not only hope to compete for silverwares but also kiss a few medals; however, their pursuit to greatness has been hampered by Real Madrid constantly targeting their top players.

The Spanish giants have been looking at possibilities to sign multiple Lilywhites players as they look to spoil the pretty party at White Hart Lane. Madrid have well-established links to Spurs centre-half Cristian Romero seeding from the summer window.

And while Madrid have been looking at the Argentine player, new reports have emerged suggesting that Los Blancos are exploring options to bring Spanish full-back Pedro Porro, per CaughOffSide.

Porro a target for Real Madrid as they look for right-back

La Liga giants Real Madrid are looking at the former Sporting Lisbon fullback as a realistic target as they identify the £85,000-per-week player as an alternative to Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander Arnold.

The England international has his contract running through at Anfield Stadium, which has pushed Madrid to consider bringing him to Santiago Bernabeu, and Florentino Perez looks at Trent as the prime target for the right-back position. While the Reds faithful are prioritising a deal to keep Trent, he is in his final year of the contract, and the talks appear to be at a stalemate at the moment.

Madrid are already working in the background to sign Trent; however, they are also looking at possible options if the Reds academy graduate decides to pen down a new contract with his current employers. Manchester United ace Diogo Dalot has been named as a potential target alongside Pedro Porro.

Porro’s departure could be a blow to Spurs’ project

Porro has been a mainstay in Ange Postecoglou’s side and has been a consistent performer since he took over the reins at right-back from Emerson Royal last year.

The report goes on to state that Daniel Levy might be tempted to accept an offer if it comes his way in the range of £65 million. This should also give an opportunity for the player to return to his home country and, nevertheless, to one of the biggest clubs in the world.

For Tottenham, any move for Porro would be a big blow to their project under Postecoglou, but a decent financial windfall can help Spurs to introduce some more marquee players along the squad.

Former Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli’s story is simultaneously tragic and hopeful.

As the Englishman toils to get back to fitness, there are reports linking him to new pastures. One such outcome could be particularly beneficial for Spurs.

Tottenham could yet earn Dele Alli bonus despite Italian interest

Tottenham may yet get some financial compensation from Everton for Dele Alli.

When Spurs let the Englishman move to Merseyside for free in January 2022, they had included performance-based bonuses and a sell-on cut they would stand to get along with another bonus if Dele made 20 or more appearances for the Toffees.

Of course, things did not turn out at all well for the 37-cap England international, who last played a professional football game in February last year while on loan at Beşiktaş. He made 13 appearances in all for Everton.

The 28-year-old’s Everton contract expired at the end of last season, though he has been training with them in recent weeks. Everton have enough room in their squad to re-register Dele as a free agent; given their start to the season, it wouldn’t be the most surprising thing if they were to offer him a short-term contract, which could see him fulfil the appearances criteria to land Spurs that financial compensation.

According to Italian outlet Il Secolo XIX, however, Dele is also being considered by Serie A side Genoa, who are looking for a season-long replacement for Ruslan Malinovskyi, who recently underwent surgery after fracturing his fibula and dislocating his ankle.

The ex-Spurs man is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €5 million.

Hoping for the best

Knowing what we now know about Dele’s life, one can only wish for the best and hope he lands on his feet.

We rarely see players come back after reaching the point Dele has, though what he has already achieved as a professional is undoubtedly commendable, and then there are always exceptions.
