Liverpool could have edge over Tottenham in the race for €30 million utility man - CaughtOffside
Description

Lutsharel Geertruida has been linked with a permanent move to the Premier League in the summer, and multiple clubs are keen on him.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Sunderland from RB Leipzig, and the German club is willing to sanction his departure for €30 million. According to a report from SportsBoom, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the Dutch defender.

They could use more quality in the defensive unit, and the 25-year-old would be the ideal utility man. He can operate as a right back, a central defender, or a defensive midfielder. The opportunity to join a big club in the Premier League will be exciting for him.

He does not have a future at the German club, and returning to Leipzig does not make sense for him.

Tottenham and Liverpool have the financial muscle to pay the asking price for him, and it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to get the deal done. Both teams need to add more quality and depth to the defensive unit. The 25-year-old has shown his quality in the Premier League with Sunderland, and he has the ability to succeed at a higher level as well.

Geertruida is entering the peak years of his career, and he could easily justify the investment. He could prove to be a bargain at that price. Liverpool will be able to offer him European football next season, which could give them an edge over Tottenham. The London club is fighting for survival in the Premier League, and they will not be able to compete in Europe next year.

Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley have struggled with injury problems this season, and Liverpool need an alternative. The Netherlands star could be the ideal acquisition.

Tottenham ready to “complete the formalities” to sign £35m De Zerbi target - CaughtOffside
Description

Brighton midfielder Matt O’Riley has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season, and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on him.

Roberto De Zerbi is hoping to sign the 25-year-old Denmark International, and he will cost £35 million.

According to a report from German publication Fussball Daten, Tottenham are prepared to “complete the formalities” to get the deal done. He has also been linked to clubs like Atletico Madrid.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can wrap up the move quickly. They have had a disappointing season, and they will look to get back on track next season. Signing the right players will help them improve.

The 25-year-old central midfielder will add creativity, drive and technical ability in the middle of the park. He could prove to be the ideal partner for players like Conor Gallagher and Pape Matar Sarr. The player has scored twice this season and has six assists.

The opportunity to join the north London club could be exciting for the 25-year-old. He is at the peak of his career, and this is the right time for him to join a bigger club. Tottenham have had a disappointing season, but they are one of the biggest clubs in the country, and they could be fighting for trophies next season. They have a quality manager and multiple top players at their disposal.

With a few intelligent additions, they could bounce back strongly and compete towards the top end of the table again.

£35 million seems like a reasonable valuation for a player like him, and he could justify the investment in future. He is well settled in the Premier League, and he could make an immediate impact at Tottenham.

Everton ready to raid Tottenham for €40m star in surprise summer transfer plan - CaughtOffside
Description

Everton are reportedly positioning themselves to pull off a sensational summer transfer swoop for Tottenham midfielder Conor Gallagher.

According to a report from The Sun, the Toffees are ready to launch a bid for the England international, but the move hinges entirely on whether Tottenham drop into the Championship at the end of the season.

Spurs have endured a thoroughly miserable campaign and are locked in a desperate, late-season battle for Premier League survival.

If the North London club fails to maintain their top-flight status, a massive squad fire sale is expected, and Gallagher will be at the very top of Everton’s wishlist.

David Moyes eyeing Tottenham midfielder Conor Gallagher

Toffees boss David Moyes is the driving force behind the targeted pursuit, determined to significantly strengthen his engine room ahead of next season.

Moyes has enjoyed a highly impressive return to Goodison Park, completely transforming Everton into a resilient side currently battling hard for a European qualification place.

As per the report, Gallagher has no intentions to stay at Spurs if they are relegated.

Despite only arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a few months ago for €40m, the energetic box-to-box midfielder is considered himself far too talented to be playing second-tier football.

Everton looking to bolster squad in the summer

After several grueling years spent fighting relegation by their fingertips, Everton are finally looking upward under Moyes’ guidance.

Backed by more stable financial footing, the club’s hierarchy is eager to back the manager in the upcoming transfer window to sustain this upward trajectory.

Securing a signing of Gallagher’s caliber would not only bolster their midfield depth but also send a clear statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League.

Everton have also been linked with a move for Chelsea’s Liam Delap, whose move to Stamford Bridge has not quite worked out so far.

Tottenham ready to rival Premier League club for the signature of AS Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche

Tottenham target Frenchman on Liverpool radar to replace Mohamed Salah - CaughtOffside
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are still firmly interested in Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, and this could become one of the more interesting transfer stories of the summer.

According to Football Insider, Spurs have asked to be kept updated on the player’s situation, with Monaco increasingly expected to lose him at the end of the season.

Tottenham already tried to sign him in January, but no deal happened, and now they may return with a stronger push.

Akliouche’s stock has risen even further. The 24-year-old has been named in Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the 2026 World Cup, which takes place from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Akliouche has been in fine form for AS Monaco

Monaco’s official site also confirmed that he has produced seven goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season.

That World Cup call-up changes the whole picture. Akliouche was already a wanted player, but being selected for France before a major tournament gives him a bigger platform.

Scouts from across Europe will now be watching him closely, and if he performs well, his price could easily climb.

For Tottenham, that makes timing important. Reports suggest Spurs believe a deal worth around €50 million could be enough if they move properly, although some English reports have translated the likely fee at around £47.5 million.

The problem is obvious. Spurs are not the only club interested. Liverpool, Manchester United, PSG and other European sides have all been linked with Akliouche in recent months.

Tottenham face competition to sign the Frenchman

talkSPORT has even reported that Liverpool have been urged to move quickly before the World Cup because his value could rise during the tournament.

Akliouche is exactly the type of player modern Premier League clubs like. He is left-footed, creative, comfortable on the right wing or as an attacking midfielder, and has the ability to carry the ball in tight areas.

He is not just a touchline winger, he can drift inside, combine with midfielders and create chances between the lines.

For Spurs, that kind of profile makes sense. They have needed more creativity and unpredictability, especially with injuries affecting key players like James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

Akliouche would give them another technical attacking option and could help refresh a squad that has looked short of spark at times.

If Spurs remain in the Premier League, they can talk about rebuilding, minutes, responsibility and becoming one of the faces of a new attack. If they do not, this deal becomes almost impossible.

Tottenham and Manchester United battling for £40m attacking sensation - CaughtOffside
Description

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are interested in signing Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco.

According to a report from Football Insider, the 24-year-old attacker will cost £40 million in the summer. He has done quite well in France, and he could prove to be an interesting acquisition for both clubs.

Pete O’Rourke explained: “Maghnes Akliouche is obviously a player who’s been on their radar for a long time.

“Tottenham will be keeping tabs on him and they are looking to be kept informed on his future.

“Monaco are well aware of the growing interest in him and probably would sell at the right price.

“For Tottenham, I’m sure they’ll be looking to be in that race for him.

“But I think it’ll be difficult for them just due to that lack of European football and because of the probably rival interest from other clubs.”

Spurs in particular need more quality going forward. They need someone who can take on defenders and break down deep defences. The French attacker has the technical ability and flair to create opportunities for his teammates, and he could add a new dimension to the Tottenham attack.

The London club has looked toothless going forward at times, and they need to address that. It remains to be seen whether they are prepared to pay the asking price for the international.

Akliouche has 7 goals and 11 assists this season.

Meanwhile, Manchester United could use more quality on the flanks as well. However, the 24-year-old will need regular opportunities, and there is no guarantee he will start ahead of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Moving to Tattenham could be better suited to the player. He is a young player with a lot of potential, and regular football at Tottenham could bring out the best in him.

The asking price reasonable for a player of his potential in today’s market. He can justify the outlet in the future. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

He has consistently shown his quality in France, and this is the right time for him to take on a new challenge. The move to the Premier League could help him improve further.

Man United and Tottenham keen on Morgan Gibbs

Man United eye 23-G/A creative powerhouse as Spurs weigh up summer move - CaughtOffside
Description

Morgan Gibbs-White has been linked with a move away from Nottingham Forest at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has been outstanding for them in the Premier League. According to a report from TeamTalk, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the English playmaker.

However, he could end up staying at Nottingham Forest. The player is not pushing for a move away from the club right now, and he has recently signed a long-term contract with them.

Nottingham Forest does not want to lose the player either. Elliot Anderson has already been linked with the move away from the club, and it seems that Nottingham Forest might choose to sell him instead of Gibbs-White.

Manchester United have been overly dependent on Bruno Fernandes for goals and creativity from the middle of the park. They could certainly use more depth in that area of the pitch.

The 26-year-old Nottingham Forest star could prove to be the ideal acquisition for them. He can operate both centrally and on the flanks. He will score goals and create opportunities for his teammates. It is no surprise Manchester United is interested in him.

On the other hand, Tottenham could use more goals from the midfield as well. They were heavily linked with a move for Morgan Gibbs-White before he signed the long-term deal with Nottingham Forest. However, they were not able to get the deal done. It remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move in the summer.

Djed Spence transfer eyed by Juventus if Tottenham go down

Sources: Tottenham facing £261m losses as Juventus look to pounce on transfer opportunity - CaughtOffside
Description

Tottenham could be facing a daunting summer in the transfer window if they end up getting relegated to the Championship, with Djed Spence’s future in doubt, as first reported here for the Daily Briefing.

As I understand it, Spurs face the a hugely damaging £261m loss in revenue if they drop out of the Premier League, so there will be a clear and obvious need to sell some star players to reduce the pressure on their wage bill.

One of those is Spence, who I’m also told is attracting increasingly strong interest from Juventus as they look for new signings at full-back.

Spence will likely also have suitors from the Premier League, but for now Juventus is the most concrete name I’m hearing about, with the Italian giants registering an interest.

Djed Spence to return to Serie A?

Spence has had a spell in Italian football before, having had a loan spell with Genoa, so it could be that the 25-year-old would be open to playing in Serie A again.

For now, sources close to Tottenham have ruled out a sale for Spence and other big names, pointing to the English defender’s contract until 2029, but the reality is that many figures in the industry anticipate player exits and see this as one of the more likely ones.

“It’s hard to see Spurs keeping Djed Spence if they go down,” one well-connected source told me. “Juventus have a concrete interest, though obviously for now their message is that they don’t want to sell. In reality, the expectation is that will change if they go down. With Spence, they’re looking at a potential €40m sale and £87,000 a week off their wage bill, which unfortunately is an essential cost-cutting measure if they’re preparing for life in the Championship.”

Can Tottenham stay up?

Even if Tottenham can stay up, there will surely be big names at the north London club who are keen to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Someone like Spence would likely see Juve as a step up for his career anyway, but it’s also perhaps looking a bit more promising for Roberto De Zerbi’s side after West Ham’s recent defeat to Arsenal.

THFC are in control of their own destiny now, though they have a tough away game against Chelsea before taking on Everton at home on the final day.

It’s looking very close, but survival is within Tottenham’s reach, and it will then be harder for someone like Spence to get a move even if they push for one.

Spurs could use Nicolo Fagioli

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get the deal done. He will add control and composure in the middle of the park. Fagioli has the technical attributes to succeed at Tottenham and could prove an excellent acquisition.

De Zerbi rates the player highly, and he might be able to bring out the best in Fagioli. The 25-year-old is at the peak of his career, and this is the right time for him to join a bigger club. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince the Italian club to sell the player.

Fagioli angling for a move?

The fact that the player has changed agents suggests that he is considering a potential move. Tottenham have the finances to get the deal done, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.

Tottenham have had a disappointing season, but they have an exciting project. They have several quality players and a top-quality manager like De Zerbi. There is no reason why they cannot bounce back strongly next season. The Italian is likely to be attracted to the possibility of joining them. They might be able to give him a platform to fight for trophies next season.

If Fiorentina are forced to sell Fagioli, they could look to recoup a premium from his departure.

Spurs could use Alex Meret

The 29-year-old player has a contract with Napoli until 2027, and he could be available for a reasonable fee. Tottenham need more depth in the goalkeeping department, and signing the Napoli star for a reasonable amount of money would be a wise decision.

It would also allow them to improve other areas of the squad. They have been linked to multiple goalkeepers in recent months, but most would cost a premium.

Meret has the quality and the experience to do well in English football, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done. The player has also been linked with AS Monaco. It remains to be seen whether he is prepared to move to France.

Tottenham make contact to sign 23-year-old Serie A ace wanted by Inter Milan - CaughtOffside
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry to sign the Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic, according to Tuttosport.

The Bosnian defender has performed well in Italy and will cost €25 million. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham follow up on the enquiry with an official proposal to sign him.

The asking price is quite reasonable for a talented defender like him, and Muharemovic could easily justify the investment in future. The 23-year-old has shown his quality in Italy, and he has the attributes to thrive in England as well.

The opportunity to play in the Premier League will be exciting for him, and Tottenham has an exciting project. Even though they are struggling right now, they could bounce back strongly next season. They have brought in a quality manager, and a couple of additions during the summer transfer window could transform them.

They might need to invest in multiple central defenders in the summer. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been linked with a move away from the club, and they will need to be replaced. It remains to be seen whether they decide to sign the Bosnian.

Roberto De Zerbi is a quality manager who has shown his Pedigree in Italy, England and France. He could unlock the true potential of the 23-year-old defender and help him improve further.

Spurs have been abysmal defensively, and they need to improve at the back if they are serious about competing for European football next season. Signing the 23-year-old could be a wise decision. He would be a high-quality, long-term addition for them at a very reasonable price.

Inter Milan wants to sign the defender as well, and Tottenham should look to move quickly in order to win the race for his signature.
