Tottenham suffered another disappointing defeat against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

It continued their disastrous season under manager Ange Postecoglou who has received criticism from the fans and the media for his team’s poor showing this season.

Spurs are currently in the bottom half of the Premier League and the only thing that can save their season is success in the Europa League but even that is looking highly unlikely now.

The North London club lost their first leg clash in the Round of 16 of the Europa League against AZ Alkmaar and they have it all to do in the second leg at home.

According to TBR Football, the club’s hierarchy is deeply concerned by the team’s poor performances this season.

While there is still some sympathy with the Australian manager due to the injury crisis at the club this season, results are not helping him and making his future at the club even more difficult.

Tottenham want to target a return to the Champions League next season and that can be only achieved by winning the Europa League since qualification through their league position is not possible now.

Ange Postecoglou’s time coming to an end at Tottenham?

The manager has received the backing of the club but some sections of the hierarchy feel that a change of manager could be the solution to their problems.

TBR Football have reported that Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola, Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Fulham’s Marco Silva are all on the shortlist of the North London club and they have been impressed by all three managers and the work they have done this season.

Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna is another name that is admired by Spurs and he will be considered if they plan to change managers.

Postecoglou’s future at the club is safe at the moment but the result in the Europa League has rocked the club and they may have to make a harsh decision on the future of the manager if they are knocked out of the competition.

Report: Everton want to resign forward as David Moyes seeks attacking reinforcements

Everton are reportedly preparing to approach Tottenham Hotspur over a potential move for Richarlison, as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.

The Brazilian forward has emerged as a surprise target for the Toffees, who are looking to bolster their squad ahead of their exciting move to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton’s current striker situation is causing concern, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Arsene Wenger gave me an Arsenal shirt after a deal was AGREED – which all-time great’s move to Arsenal fell through at the last minute?

If he does not agree to fresh terms, Everton could find themselves with just Beto and Youssef Chermiti as their primary centre-forward options for the 2025-26 season. As a result, manager David Moyes, who took over in January, is keen to bring in reinforcements, especially after guiding the team to safety in the Premier League.

Richarlison, who left Everton for Tottenham in a £60million move in 2022, has been identified as a potential returnee to Goodison Park, according to GiveMeSport. Although the Toffees were reluctant to let him go, the club felt pressured to sell him due to financial constraints and the need to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. Newcastle United have previously linked to the attacker.

However, after a couple of underwhelming seasons at Spurs, Everton are now reportedly considering bringing him back to Merseyside.

Tottenham Hotspur provide Everton with Richarlison’s price tag for summer window

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham could be willing to let Richarlison go for a fee around £40million, a loss from the £60million they paid for him just two years ago. Richarlison, who is in the final two years of his contract and reportedly earns up to £130,000 a week, has been inconsistent at Spurs, which could make him available for a lower price than initially expected.

Everton are keen to explore the possibility of re-signing the 26-year-old during the early stages of the summer transfer window.

Richarlison has shown flashes of his previous form at Everton, including an impressive goal-scoring rate of one every 143 minutes in the Premier League this season.

Spurs confirm fresh injury blow with official statement

Tottenham Hotspur have faced an ongoing injury crisis this season, and their latest setback comes in the form of Dejan Kulusevski being ruled out with a foot injury.

The club has officially confirmed on their website that the Swedish midfielder will miss the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie against AZ Alkmaar and is unlikely to return before the March international break.

Tottenham confirm Dejan Kulusevski’s injury

Kulusevski’s absence will see him sidelined for both the home and away legs against AZ Alkmaar, as well as key Premier League fixtures against AFC Bournemouth and Fulham.

His injury is a significant blow for Spurs, who are striving to make a deep run in Europe while also improving their standing in the league.

Speaking ahead of the match against AZ Alkmaar, manager Ange Postecoglou revealed that Kulusevski had been playing through discomfort in his foot for weeks. Despite his efforts to push through, the club has now opted to sideline him to allow for full recovery.

However, there was some positive news for Spurs fans. It has been confirmed that Dominic Solanke, along with long-term absentees Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, have all traveled to the Netherlands with the team. All three players are in contention to return to action soon, providing a much-needed boost for the squad.

Kulusevski’s impact this season

Since joining Spurs from Juventus on an initial loan in January 2022, Kulusevski has become a key figure in the team’s attacking setup. His strong performances convinced the club to make his move permanent in the summer of 2023, and he has continued to be an influential player under Postecoglou.

So far this season, the 24-year-old has contributed 10 goals and 10 assists across 42 appearances in all competitions. Aside from his goal contributions, Kulusevski has been one of the league’s most creative midfielders, ranking highly in key passing and shot-creating metrics.

With the Europa League the last chance for Spurs to win any silverware this season, Ange would have hoped for his best player to be available. It is going to be a tough away game but Spurs have the quality to come out winners.

Tottenham transfers: Spurs eye Benjamin Sesko and Mathys Tel

Tottenham are reportedly ready to make a serious push for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, even if they go ahead with a permanent deal for Mathys Tel this summer.

Spurs are expected to reshape their attack next season, with several changes on the horizon. Timo Werner’s loan spell is unlikely to be extended, and with Son Heung-min’s form dipping, the club is preparing for the possibility that he may not be as central to their plans going forward.

Tel, who has already shown flashes of his talent since arriving, is a player they’re thought to be seriously considering keeping. If they decide to make his move permanent, it’ll cost them around £45 million. But that doesn’t mean their business is done, far from it.

“Winning against Arsenal meant winning against BABIES” – which Man United legend insulted the Gunners but revealed “so much respect” for Chelsea?

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham aren’t ruling out a move for Sesko, even if Tel stays. The striker has a release clause that could climb to £66.95 million by the end of the season.

Spurs know they face an uphill battle to land him with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal linked, but they believe adding a striker of his calibre aligns with their ambitions.

If both Tel and Sesko were to arrive, Tottenham would be looking at a combined outlay of around £112 million, but it could completely reshape their frontline.

Tel, who has experience playing centrally, could shift to the left, while Sesko would lead the line. His arrival would also put pressure on Dominic Solanke, who has been sidelined with injury and would benefit from strong competition to push him back to his best.

Fabrizio Romano provides update on Mathys Tel and Tottenham Hotspur

For now, there’s no rush to make a decision on Tel. As Fabrizio Romano recently reported: “Tel’s situation is quiet now. Full focus is on the pitch. He just arrived a month ago, so Spurs want to give him time to adapt, perform, and then discuss his future.”

Beyond their striker search, Tottenham are also working on other deals. Tyler Dibling is reportedly being eyed by the north London club.

Meanwhile, the debate over Son’s long-term replacement continues, with some fans touting Jack Grealish as “the man” to fill his boots. Darren Bent has suggested that the 28-year-old looks in “unbelievable nick,” hinting that he could be a real option should Spurs decide to make a move.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is going to be busy in the summer transfer window as he plans to make big changes to his squad.

The Spurs boss signed Mathy Tel, Kevin Danso and Antonin Kinksy in the January transfer window this year.

Although his signings have not worked well so far and their poor league form and position shows that, he is determined to perform better in the summer when it comes to adding new players to his squad.

One of the players he is looking to offload after this season is midfielder Yves Bissouma, according to GiveMeSport.

The midfielder’s form, injury issues and suspension problems have contributed to his poor time at the North London club.

He has still not been able to cement a place in the starting line up after joining the club almost three years ago from Brighton.

The 28-year-old midfielder has only started 12 Premier League games this season which shows that he is not in the future plans of the Spurs boss.

Postecoglou is willing to let the midfielder leave the club as he looks for his options in the market.

Tottenham are exploring a the possibility of signing Crystal Palace duo Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, a move that could cost them a whopping £138m.

Tottenham have plans to invest in the squad this summer

It only goes to show that Spurs are keen to show ambition in the summer transfer window after a poor season.

Once again, they are going to finish the season without a trophy and they are currently sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Their performances have been so poor this season that questions have been asked about the future of the manager but the club are keen on backing him as they have complete faith in his ability to turn the situation around.

Their summer clear-out may start with the sale of Bissouma and Crystal Palace are showing interest in signing him.

Liverpool and Chelsea hoping to sign Lamine Camara

Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur keen on signing the AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara.

The 21-year-old Senegalese International has done quite well for club and country and his performances have attracted the attention of the Premier League club.

As per TBR Football, the midfielder is on the radar of Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton, Bournemouth and Manchester City as well. Meanwhile, European heavyweights like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are keeping close tabs on his development. It is evident that the 21-year-old is a player in demand and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool, Chelsea or Tottenham can get the deal done.

Liverpool are in desperate need of a quality defensive midfielder who will shield the back four and break up opposition attacking moves. They tried to sign Martin Zubimendi at the start of the season, but they failed to get the deal done.

Camara would be a quality acquisition for them, and he would be a long-term investment. The 21-year-old is highly rated across Europe, and he has been likened to N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba because of his playing style. Liverpool could nurture him into a future star.

Spurs and Chelsea keen on Camara

Similarly, Chelsea are looking to build a squad for the future, and it is no surprise that they are keen on the talented midfielder. However, they have two young defensive midfielders at their disposal, and it would be quite surprising if they decided to invest in the African. They need to improve the other areas of their squad, especially the attacking unit.

As far as Tottenham are concerned, they need more depth in the midfield and 21-year-old could be the ideal acquisition for them. Tottenham have been quite mediocre this season and they have looked vulnerable defensively. Signing a quality defensive midfielder will not only help them tighten up at the back, it would also allow the creative players to operate with more freedom.

The opportunity to remove the Premier League will be quite exciting for the young midfielder, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Report: Tottenham eyeing ambitious double £138m swoop from Premier League club

Description

After an underwhelming season in the Premier League, Tottenham are targeting some big moves in the summer transfer window.

Spurs are still sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table and they are unhappy with their squad depth and quality.

Injury issues have not helped their cause this season and Ange Postecoglou is ready to add more quality in his midfield and defense at the end of the season.

According to GiveMeSport, the North London club are eyeing a double swoop for Crystal Palace stars Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi.

Tottenham signed Mathys Tel, Antonin Kinsky and Kevin Danso in the January transfer window but their transfer business is not going to stop any time soon.

Tottenham also showed interest in signing Guehi in the winter transfer window but Palace rejected their attempt to sign the England international defender.

Postecoglou’s side are hoping to bring both Eze and Guehi to the club in the summer from their Premier League rivals.

Both the players have helped Oliver Glasner in turning around the season for the Eagles after a poor start.

Interest will be high in the services of both the player due to their quality and their consistency.

Tottenham face competition to sign Palace star

Guehi is being eyed by all the top clubs in the Premier League and particularly Newcastle United, who made several moves to sign him last summer but failed to secure his services.

As for Eze, Spurs are hoping to find out if they would be able to sign the player for less than his £68million buyout clause.

As per the report, Tottenham’s advances are set to be snubbed by Palace but that would not stop them from making a move for the players, particularly for Eze, who Spurs believe can give them a cutting edge in the final third when they attack.

The North London club are expected to enter negotiations early in the summer for the Palace duo since they know that clubs across the Premier League club will be giving their all to sign the talented English duo.

Spurs have also been linked with a move for another Palace star; midfielder Adam Wharton.

Luka Vuskovic told he is not ready for Tottenham move

Tottenham Hotspur are set to welcome Luka Vuskovic at the end of the season.

The highly rated Croatian defender currently plays for KVC Westerlo on loan from Hajduk Split, and he will join the Premier League club at the end of the season. Tottenham agreed on a £12 million deal to sign him in 2023.

Former professional footballer Patrick Goots believes that the 18-year-old is a prodigious talent but it is too soon for him to move to Tottenham. Goots feels that the talented young defender will struggle to hold down a regular starting spot at the North London club and he is not ready to play for them just yet.

Goots told Gazet van Antwerpen (h/t Voetbal Krant): “Vuskovic is very all round, only the pure pace he lacks a bit, and there is a good head. He will also realise it is too early for a return (move) to Tottenham.”

“I think he’s in any case a very interesting profile for Antwerp, where Toby Alderweireld and Zeno Van den Bosch will disappear from the heart of the defence after this season,” Goots continued.

“Competing for prizes, and who knows, maybe playing European, would be an ideal intermediate step.”

Can Vuskovic make an impact next season?

Tottenham are one of the biggest clubs in the country and they are expected to fight for Champions League qualification and domestic trophies. They need ready-made players who can make an instant impact and help them improve.

Although Vuskovic is an elite talent, he needs more experience in order to compete at this level. He will need more time to develop further before he can hold down a regular starting spot for Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if the North London club decide to send him out on loan next season. Sitting on the bench at Tottenham is unlikely to benefit him. He needs to compete regularly at a high level in order to improve further.

The 18-year-old defender will certainly want to prove himself in English football and force his way into the Tottenham first team squad next season. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Tottenham need more depth in the defensive unit and if the 18-year-old can prove his worth next season, he could be an asset for the club during injuries and rotation.

Nico Paz transfer: Tottenham eye Como attacking midfielder

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Tottenham are reportedly interested in a potential transfer deal for Como attacking midfielder Nico Paz after his breakthrough season in Serie A.

The talented 20-year-old has really caught the eye since leaving Real Madrid to join Como, who have made impressive progress under manager Cesc Fabregas.

“It’s MY fault Salah and De Bruyne left Chelsea…” – which Blues legend made this HUGE admission?

It remains to be seen if Paz could now be on the move again just one year later, but a report from TBR Football states that Spurs scouts have been impressed by the Argentina international.

Their report also mentions previous interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, but it could be that Tottenham’s pursuit of the player now looks the strongest as we edge closer to the summer window.

Nico Paz transfer would be an exciting addition for Tottenham

Spurs have had a disappointing season, with Ange Postecoglou’s side still slumped all the way down in 13th place in the Premier League table.

So, one imagines the north Londoners will be making major moves when the transfer window opens again in the summer, and Paz looks like he’d be a terrific addition to the squad.

However, one issue might be that Postecoglou is already working with a pretty young squad, so some more experienced players might not go amiss.

Paz is clearly a big talent, but he’d perhaps struggle without some older players around him to help pass on their guidance as he adjusts to life in the Premier League.

Paz would likely get playing time at THFC, which would be important for his development, but he could still do well to consider alternatives.

Chelsea are also building around youth, so could surely find a key role for Paz in their team, while Arsenal are also a little short in the attacking midfield department right now.

Tottenham star’s heated referee confrontation after Man City defeat could lead to FA trouble

Tottenham Hotspur’s recent run of good form came to an end as they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Manchester City at home.

Despite showing greater attacking intent in the second half, Erling Haaland’s early goal proved to be the match-winner, as Spurs failed to convert their chances.

The result saw Tottenham slip to 13th in the Premier League, deepening their struggles in the bottom half of the table.

However, a big talking point from the game came after the final whistle, when captain Heung-min Son was involved in a heated exchange with referee Jarred Gillett—an incident that could potentially be reviewed by the FA, as he was lucky to escape immediate disciplinary action following the heated interaction.

The incident came from a dramatic moment in stoppage time when Haaland thought he had doubled City’s lead, only for VAR to rule the goal out for handball after an extensive review. The prolonged delay. Once the referee blew the final whistle, several Spurs players, including Son, confronted Gillett in protest.

It remains unclear what the Tottenham players were complaining about, given that the disallowed goal ultimately benefited Spurs. However, it is possible they expected more added time due to the lengthy VAR review.

Ex-PGMOL chief says Tottenham star could be reported to the FA

Hackett defended Gillett’s handling of stoppage time, emphasising that referees have full authority over timekeeping. He questioned the need for such strong protests from Son, especially given that the disallowed goal ultimately benefited Tottenham.

He further suggested that Gillett coould include the incident in his match report, which could lead to further scrutiny from the FA.

Speaking to Tottenham News, Hackett said:

“Jarred Gillet has delivered two very good performances in recent days. His movement and maintaining contact with play throughout was excellent and his decision-making was made with confidence.

“His judgement about that handball and disallowed goal was perhaps the only point that I would make any comment about. He decided that a handball had taken place and ruled out a Man City goal.

“The Spurs players should look at themselves and I hope that the referee will include in his report the behaviour of Son, who was rather fortunate to escape a sanction for his clear and sustained protest.

“Did Son not see that a goal by Manchester City had been ruled out by Gillet?

“If he was protesting about the amount of time added on he should read Law 5. It states that the referee is the sole timekeeper.

“I feel Son was clutching at straws in this one.

“I would have liked Gillet to have shown him a yellow card in order for him to re-assert his authority.”

Spurs rue missed chances

While Tottenham might feel aggrieved over the final moments, their inability to capitalise on key opportunities ultimately decided the result.

Pape Matar Sarr had the golden chance to equalise in stoppage time but he headed his effort over the bar from point blank range. Similarly, the returning WIlson Odobert missed a chance to score ten minutes into the second half.

Whether the referee reports Son to the FA remains to be seen. If he is reported, there is a chance he could be fined by the governing authority.
