Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs looking to sign the Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk.

The 25-year-old Dutch international defender has done quite well in the Championship and Tottenham are following him closely. They need to add more depth to their defensive unit and the 25-year-old would be a quality addition.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have had persistent injury problems this season and Tottenham need more options at their disposal if they want to do well during the second half of the season. Radu Dragusin is the only fit central defender at the club now.

They will be desperate for Champions League qualification and the right additions could help them finish the season strongly. However, Leeds are pushing for promotion to the Premier League and they might not be open to selling a key player.

It remains to be seen whether the Dutch defender is prepared to force an exit.

Will Pascal Struijk force an exit?

According to TBR Football, Leeds are hoping to tie him down to a new long-term deal. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. The left-sided central defender has done well in the Championship and he has the physicality to do well in the Premier League as well. It will be an exciting opportunity for him, and he will get to join a big club with an exciting project.

Tottenham could provide him with the platform to compete in European football next season, and he will be able to push for trophies with them as well. The 25-year-old is entering his peak years, and he will look to take up a new challenge at the stage of his career. He is unlikely to be able to push for trophies or compete in European football with Leeds in the near future. It could be ideal for him to move on and join a big club now.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor.

The player’s agent has revealed to Football Insider that the 28-year-old wants to join a club in the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United and Tottenham are prepared to submit an offer for him.

His agent said: “There has been interest from clubs in England, Germany, Portugal and elsewhere, but John would prefer to play in the best league in the world – the Premier League.”

The 28-year-old goalkeeper has helped Botafogo win the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian league recently, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for both clubs.

Man United and Spurs could use John Victor

Manchester United need a quality backup option for Andre Onana. Victor will be able to compete with the former Inter Milan goalkeeper for the starting spot. Onana has made quite a few errors in recent weeks and competition for places will help Manchester United improve. Manchester United have been linked with other goalkeepers as well.

Similarly, Fraser Forster will be out of contract soon and he needs to be replaced adequately. Tottenham need an experienced goalkeeper who will push Guglielmo Vicario for the starting spot and the Brazilian certainly fits the profile. The fact that he wants to move to the Premier League will be an added incentive for the two English clubs.

They have the financial resources to get the deal done, and it will be interesting to see if Botafogo are willing to sell the player for a reasonable price.

The 6′,5″ goalkeeper has 22 clean sheets to his name this season and it is no surprise that top clubs are keen on him. The opportunity to play for Manchester United or Tottenham will be hard to turn down for the player. It could be his final opportunity to join a big club in a top league. It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their defensive unit with the signing of the South American defender Omar Alderete.

The Paraguayan international is on the radar of Wolves, Leicester City and Crystal Palace as well. According to TBR Football, Tottenham could move for the player in the coming weeks and the defender’s representatives have already been offering him around to multiple clubs.

The 27-year-old is clearly available in January, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for him. They have had their fair share of injury problems in the defensive unit, and Alderete could add more depth to the side. He could be a useful acquisition for the right price.

Alderete has a £13 million release clause in his contract, and the player is well-settled in La Liga. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well.

Spurs need a deeper squad to do well across multiple competitions and the Paraguayan would be a handy option to have.

Tottenham player open to leaving the club amid transfer links with rivals

Alderete could fancy Spurs move

The opportunity to join Tottenham will be quite exciting for the left-sided central defender as well. He could be a backup to Micky van de Ven. The Dutch international defender has had multiple injury problems since joining the club and Tottenham need adequate cover for him.

Tottenham certainly have the financial muscle to pay the reported £13 million asking price for him, and it will be interesting to see if they step up on their pursuit of the player and submit an official offer for him. The defender could prove to be a bargain at that price.

The player is entering his peak years and he will want to test himself at the highest level. Joining a Premier League club would be ideal for him.

Brentford man tempted to join Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has endured a difficult season at the club.

Spurs are 11th in the Premier League standings and their form this season has been highly disappointing.

They have had some positive results this season, like the wins against Manchester United and Manchester City, however, they have failed to be consistent over the course of the season.

At the moment, they have just one win in their last eight games and questions are being raised about the future of Postecoglou at Tottenham.

Along with West Ham United, Tottenham are interested in Brentford manager Thomas Frank.

According to TEAMtalk, if the North London club make a move for the Brentford boss, he could be tempted to leave his club to join Spurs.

Frank has firmly established himself as a respected Premier League manager, with his work at Brentford widely regarded as exemplary.

His ability to build a competitive squad, develop players, and deliver consistent results has made him one of the standout managers in the league.

Frank has earned the admiration of Brentford’s supporters by guiding the team to promotion from the Championship during the 2020/21 season through the play-offs, followed by a successful run in the Premier League. Since then, he has been instrumental in maintaining the club’s top-flight status.

Tottenham face competition from West Ham United

The Hammers are struggling to perform this season under Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui and they are also keeping an eye on the Brentford man.

After a busy summer transfer window in which they made a number of new signings, Lopetegui has been unable to get the best out of them.

The race to appoint Frank could heat up and both the London rivals could go against each other to appoint him.

The manager is recognised for working under a budget and still playing attractive football and that has particularly caught the attention of both Spurs and West Ham.

Potential new Tottenham investor is “perfect fit” as both parties “never manage to deliver”

Tottenham Hotspur chairman, Daniel Levy, is looking for new investment into the club, and may have found the perfect partner to work with in North London.

On the pitch, the Lilywhites need to do an awful lot better, with one player unlikely to be signed after a u-turn by Ange Postecoglou.

Daniel Levy could get new Tottenham investment via NFL mogul

Another striker is also willing to leave the club with Newcastle apparently interested, and multiple injuries (Premier Injuries) are stopping Spurs from being able to put a decent run together.

Notwithstanding their current malaise, the club still represents an attractive investment opportunity and, according to Football Insider, Tottenham could’ve found the “perfect” partner.

“I don’t know anything about the connection,” former Everton CEO, Keith Wyness, said on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

“But when I heard the rumour, I thought it was a perfect fit. The Dallas Cowboys and Spurs, both promise so much and never manage to deliver.

“Jerry Jones would be a classic owner. The NFL connection would make sense, and he’s got the ability to buy at the £4billion level – which we think Daniel Levy is holding out for.

“It’s the first one I’ve heard that makes real sense from a football and sporting point of view.

“I think he and Levy would get on like a house on fire in terms of their ambition, they’re very complementary.

“I’d be interested to see it because I think they’d be a powerhouse if they got together, commercially.”

With arguably the finest stadium in the entire Premier League, Tottenham are certainly moving in the right direction off the pitch, and continued investment and support into both the business model and playing squad could come just at the right time to continue moving things forward.

It would also, perhaps, take a bit of the heat off Daniel Levy, who always seems to be the object of fans ire when the club aren’t doing so well.

Richarlison ready to leave Tottenham amid Newcastle links

Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks, and Newcastle United have been mentioned as a potential destination.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Brazilian international is open to an exit from the North London club and he is willing to leave them in 2025.

The player dreams of playing for Brazil in the 2026 World Cup and he wants to join a top European club. Richarlison is on the radar of Brazilian clubs and Saudi Arabian clubs, but the Brazilian is not keen on a move to Saudi Arabia yet.

Jacobs revealed on the NUFC Matters YouTube channel: “I’m told the player’s changed his mind in the last few months and is willing to leave Spurs in 2025. But because of his aspirations to play in the 2026 World Cup, he doesn’t want to go to Saudi Arabia.”

Jacobs has revealed that his desire to stay in Europe has opened the door for a club like Newcastle, who are looking to improve their attacking options. However, Tottenham could demand over £60 million for the Brazilian striker and that could complicate matters for Newcastle. The magpies value the player around £40-45 million.

He added: “That may open up the door for a club like Newcastle United, so there is some substance to Richarlison and Newcastle, but price is the big issue because Spurs have been adamant throughout all of 2024 that if they’re to entertain an offer, it’s £60million or more.

“Newcastle would not be looking anywhere near that number, given the player’s injury record and his form. Therefore, if this is to develop and Richarlison is open to going to another Premier League club, it would have to be from Newcastle’s point of view around the £40-45 million mark.”

Tottenham must reduce Richarlison asking price

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to lower their asking price for the 27-year-old striker. He has not been able to live up to the expectations since joining the London club. The Brazilian has scored 16 goals in 73 appearances for Tottenham. He has struggled with injuries as well.

The North London club might feel that this is the right time for them to cash in on him. Meanwhile, Newcastle need more depth in the attacking unit and Richarlison could help share the goalscoring and the creative burden alongside Alexander Isak.

Tottenham working to sign a central defender in January

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a quality central defender when the transfer window reopens in january.

According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, Tottenham are working to get a deal done for a quality central defender and it is likely to cost them a substantial amount of money.

Brown said to Football Insider: “Tottenham’s biggest problem is their instability in defence.

“After these injuries they’ve suffered, I’m told they’re already working on identifying players who they could sign in the transfer window.

“The problem is, there isn’t an excessive amount of available defenders mid-way through the season.

“Spurs want to sign a top-class defender who can step in and make a difference, but that will cost big money in January.”

Spurs need defensive additions

The North London club are lacking in depth when it comes to the defensive unit and it is no surprise that they are looking to sign a quality central defender. Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin are the only reliable central defenders at the club right now. Romero and Van de Ven have had their fair share of injury problems and Tottenham need more depth in the side.

Furthermore, Romero has been linked with an exit from the club as well.

It will be interesting to see if they can bring in the right additions during the January window.

Tottenham have had a mediocre start to the season so far and they will be desperate to secure Champions League qualification for the next season. They must look to bring in quality additions in January in order to bounce back strongly and finish high up the table.

Apart from a quality defender, they should bring in a versatile forward and a defensive midfielder as well. They need to add more goals to the side and they need someone who will protect the defensive unit from the midfield and allow the creative players to operate with more freedom.

Injury expert shares pessimistic update on Tottenham striker Richarlison

Description

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison is enduring a challenging season, with injuries severely hampering his ability to contribute to the team.

The Brazilian has already missed 18 games this campaign due to persistent fitness issues, the latest being a hamstring injury that has sidelined him since November.

According to injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar, Richarlison’s condition suggests he is dealing with a high-grade muscle tear, likely Grade 2 or Grade 3. While initial fears hinted at a more severe Grade 4 injury, the revised diagnosis offers hope of an earlier-than-expected return.

Dr. Brar provided an optimistic timeline for Richarlison’s recovery, predicting a return to training around the New Year and a potential comeback to first-team action by mid-January. Speaking to Tottenham News, he explained:

“This sounds like a high Grade 2 or Grade 3 muscle tear and not a Grade 4 tear as first feared based on the timeline thus far.

“If the timeline of a mid-January return holds, I would expect a return to training around the New Year.

“I do not see him returning to first-team football until the start of January either.“

Richarlison’s time at Spurs marred with injuries

Richarlison’s injury troubles have been a significant blow to manager Ange Postecoglou’s plans this season. The 27-year-old has managed just seven appearances across all competitions, recording one goal and one assist in only 173 minutes of play.

His fitness issues have cast doubt on his long-term future at the club. Despite being linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League during the summer transfer window, no deal materialised, leaving Richarlison tied to Spurs until 2027.

To address their attacking needs, Tottenham secured the signing of Dominic Solanke earlier this summer. The former Bournemouth striker has since become a key figure in Postecoglou’s setup, delivering strong performances as the team’s primary centre-forward.

Richarlison’s recovery will be closely looked at, as his ability to regain and retain fitness and his form will play a crucial role in determining his future at Tottenham.

Exclusive: “Gross naivety” from Tottenham who are “not going to get away with it” after another collapse

Ange Postecoglou has had Tottenham playing some lovely football again this season, however, a lack of a solid defence is “gross naivety” according to Stan Collymore.

The former Premier League star has admitted having a fondness for the Australian and the way he sees the game, but ill discipline at the back is stopping the North Londoners from becoming a truly great team.

Postecoglou needs to shore up Tottenham’s defence says Collymore

The 59-year-old might even be looking to change things significantly in January once the transfer window opens.

“I’ve got a soft spot for Ange Postecoglou and for anybody that wants to play football on the front foot, attacking, creating chances, scoring goals… because that’s the type of player that I was,” he said to CaughtOffside for his exclusive column.

‘He’s managed in Japan, he’s managed in Scotland, however, the Premier League is unforgiving. You can’t win a title in the English top-flight without having a real cast-iron defence.

“Leicester proved you can do it without scoring bucket loads of goals, but it’s telling that only the bottom three in the Premier League have a worse goal difference than Spurs at the moment.

“A couple of weeks ago, Tottenham were the highest scorers in the division, so there’s something structurally, fundamentally wrong at the club. This isn’t just a blip.

“This is a team that can score goals and create chances, but whatever they do, they can’t keep it out at the other end.

“I think it’s gross naivety, and the last time a team played like this was in the late 90s when I was playing; Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle.

“[…] The ‘they’ll score three but we’ll score four’ way of playing is all well and good in the lovely days of August, September and October when everybody’s flying, everybody’s fit, everybody’s healthy, but when you start to take international breaks, FA Cup ties, League Cup ties, European commitments, injuries, suspensions and poor form into account, Spurs are not going to get away with it.”

As we’ve seen of late, if Spurs get injuries in one or two key areas, they still don’t have the squad to be able to cope.

That brings the lack of investment from the top into sharp focus, and also leaves more question marks over exactly which direction Daniel Levy is taking the club in.

If Postecoglou also fails where the likes of Mourinho and Conte did, it can’t always be the manager’s fault, though Levy might soon be about to replace him according to reports.

In any event, it’s obvious that Postecoglou needs to be a little less gung-ho in the English top-flight.

“I’m done with this garbage” – Jamie O’Hara blames Tottenham man for Chelsea defeat

Tottenham suffered an embarrassing 4-3 defeat against Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side took an early 2-0 lead against Enzo Maresca’s men, thanks to goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski.

Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella slipped in the build up to both the Tottenham goals and was largely the reason behind Spurs scoring two early goals.

The Blues came back into the match thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho, Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez, while completely dominating the North London club.

It was the Palmer show in the second half as he scored twice and provided an assist to guide his team to a famous win against their London rivals.

Postecoglou and Spurs received heavy criticism after the defeat and rightly so since they lost a two goal lead at home.

Football pundit and former Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara was disappointed with how Postecoglou’s side played.

He blamed the manager for the defeat against Chelsea and took to social media to claim that it is time for the manager to leave the club.

Writing on his X account, O’Hara said:

“I’m done with this garbage we are a disgrace, 2-0 up and get battered we have zero clue of how to win games.

“I’m sorry it can’t go on like this, time to go”

I’m done with this garbage we are a disgrace, 2-0 up and get battered we have zero clue of how to win games it’s just shit or bust, I’m sorry it can’t go on like this, time to go

— Jamie Ohara (@Mrjamieohara1) December 8, 2024

It was another match in which Spurs lost a two goal lead and ultimately lost the match.

Earlier in the season, they were two goals up against Brighton but still lost the match 3-2.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is struggling to find solutions

Spurs are without a win in their last three matches in the Premier League.

Since defeating Pep Guardiola’s side 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium, they have drawn against Fulham and lost against both Bournemouth and Chelsea.

In the 15 Premier League matches they have played this season, Spurs have tasted defeat a whopping seven times.

Only the three teams in the relegation places have lost more Premier League matches than Spurs this season.
