United have won just three matches out of eight across all competitions this season, with two wins, one draw and three losses in the Premier League.

They have failed to win any of their last three matches, having drawn back to back games with Crystal Palace in the Premier League and FC Twente in the Europa League.

The result is also the second time this season that they have been dominated by a top six club at Old Trafford, with Liverpool also beating the Red Devils 3-0 shortly before the international break.

Should Ten Hag lose his job as United boss, the clear favourite with SkyBet to replace him remains former England manager Gareth Southgate, who left his role as manager of the Three Lions after the 2024 European Championships.

"Getting outplayed by a Spurs without Son, his excuses are rapidly running out."

Another agreed, adding: "Spurs are without their best player. Ten Hag has every player he would start available and we still don’t have a style of play."

While one disappointed fan wrote: "What I find most disheartening about Ten Hag's #MUFC at this point of his tenure is I still don't understand what his overarching vision is for this team.

"From the signings to the style of play, it's just game to game, week to week, no real clear idea of where this is headed."

The result is the third match in a row that United have failed to win, after drawing back to back matches with Crystal Palace in the Premier League and FC Twente in the Europa League.

In total, the Red Devils have won just three matches out of eight in the 2024/25 season.

Manchester United fans have called out one player's poor performance in the first half of the Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

And another fan agreed with this assessment, adding: "Zirkzee is ALWAYS stretching man, striker with zero f****** box instinct."

Things only got worse for United in the second half as, just two minutes after coming back onto the pitch, Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski doubled the lead for Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has given a major injury update on defender Leny Yoro before his side's Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Yoro, 18, signed for United from Ligue 1 side Lille for an initial fee of £52 million this summer.

But despite impressing in pre-season, the France youth international has not yet been able to play a competitive game for his new club.

He suffered a metatarsal injury during a friendly against Arsenal which required surgery.

According to The Athletic, United knew that Yoro was at risk of suffering a metatarsal problem while conducting his medical, but decided that they wanted to press ahead with his signing.

Yoro was originally slated to be out of action for three months.

Now, Ten Hag has given a significant update on when he will pull on the United shirt for the first time competitively.

And while he won't be fit in time to take on Spurs on Sunday, having not yet returned to training, Yoro is nearing a comeback.

When asked about how the young defender's recovery is progressing, Ten Hag said: "Yes, he is doing very well.

"It is very pleasing that his rehab is going in the right direction, and I expect him soon.

"But what I mean by soon is that he is now in the right planning process. He is in the right spot.

"He will return as soon as possible into the squad and then the team training."

United will be looking to bounce back against Spurs after draws against Crystal Palace and FC Twente.

And footage that emerged on the Spurs subreddit last night will do little to ease fans' fears. Son was seen clutching the back of his thigh before sitting down on the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he received medical attention, before being substituted and heading down the tunnel, rather than sitting on the bench.

Speaking after last night's game, Spurs boss Postecoglou was unsure about the extent of the South Korean's injury, saying: "I haven't spoken to him. He said he felt a bit tired but I haven't spoken to him or medicals yet."

Son in recent days had backed the views of Manchester City's Rodri and Liverpool's Allison regarding too many matches being played over the course of a season.

He said: "A lot of players came out and said the right things and I think it was very important that someone actually came out to say the right things.

"Players are the main guys to have to say something and it's definitely a lot of games. As a football fan you want to see a quality game, not as many games as possible, and you don't want to see people or players struggling with injuries, which nobody wants to see.

"It's definitely a lot of games, a lot of travelling [so] we have to look after ourselves which is sometimes very hard, and sometimes mentally and physically you're not ready and when you're going onto the pitch then the risk of injury is massive.

"We are not robots, so I think we just definitely have to look after that and definitely reduce the games and can play a better quality of game. I think this should be the aim."

All eyes will be on the teamsheets when they are released at Old Trafford on Sunday to see if Son is involved or not.

Fans have been left stunned after Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario escaped a red card against Brentford.

On Saturday afternoon, Ange Postecoglou’s men welcomed London rivals Brentford to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.

Spurs got off to a poor start after Bryan Mbeumo gave the visitors a 1-0 lead inside the first minute.

However, the Bees’ lead did not last long as Dominic Solanke scored his first Spurs goal to make it 1-1 in the eighth minute.

With 28 minutes on the clock, Spurs completed the comeback as Brennan Johnson netted from a tight angle to make it 2-1.

In the second half, Spurs goalkeeper Vicario was lucky to escape a red card after appearing to handle the ball outside the penalty area. You can watch the footage below.

Speaking on BBC Final Score, former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha said: “Earlier Gugliemo Vicario comes out of his area and makes three attempts at touching the ball. From the angle we see the third touch, if there was another angle of it, I think they would say that it came outside the box, so that would be a red card.

“It is strange that the VAR has missed that, very strange, because that is a big moment in the game.”

Tottenham fans are extremely worried about Brennan Johnson after footage of his post-match reaction emerged online following his winner against Coventry City.

Johnson, who started his side's defeat to Arsenal last weekend, was resigned to a spot on the bench against Coventry in the Carabao Cup.

After the North London derby defeat, the 23-year-old deactivated his Instagram account because of criticism in wake of his performance.

Ange Postecoglou condemned the social media abuse and backed Johnson to thrive at Spurs.

"I hate how we’ve just normalised all that stuff," he said.

"I’ve been around long enough and even when I was playing, I copped a fair bit. But it was usually on the terraces and then the game was over and you’d go home.

"You’re talking about a young guy who is probably lacking a bit of confidence at the moment. Things haven’t gone his way.

"But he comes here every day, he’s working his backside off, he’s asking for feedback, he’s doing everything right, he’s trying so hard to become the player he wants to be. It’s hurting him a lot.

"It’s not like he’s out on the town and he doesn’t care and he rolls up late. So what’s his crime? His crime is he isn’t performing at the level that people expect of him."

A Tottenham Hotspur scout was forced to resign after revealing the club's transfer target on live television.

Tottenham secured one of the biggest transfers of the 2024 summer window, signing former Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke for a reported club-record fee of £65million.

The London club have been busy in the transfer market in recent years, brining players like James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro into the first team by using the fund gathered by the sale of club legend Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

But one club scout made a huge error during his time with the club as he immediately had to resign after revealing exactly who the club were interested in during a live television interview.

Jeff Vetere, who formerly worked alongside clubs like Real Madrid and Newcastle United, was speaking exclusively to Colombian television station Win Sports TV in February 2023 about his work at Tottenham.

During the interview, he began discussing Nacional goalkeeper Kevin Mier, a player who Spurs were considering pursuing in a later transfer window.

He said: "I see a goalkeeper who does not lack anything to cross the pond.

"We are looking because it is our task to see who the best youngsters are for international football.

"Taking advantage of my stay in Colombia, I took the opportunity to go there (Nacional) and meet a goalkeeper who is important to me.

"I think he’s going to play for the national side soon. He has things, for me, they are not normal for a boy of his age.

"I was surprised by his confidence and his handling of the ball."

According to the Daily Mail, the Tottenham board were outraged at the Englishman as they deemed his casual revelation of a club target to be highly unprofessional.

Therefore, Vetere, who only joined the club five months prior, was immediately summoned to a meeting to review the probationary period outline in his contract.

But before the review of his conduct was completed, Vetere handed in his resignation and left the club.

It is believed that his dismissal from the club was likely to happen regardless of his behaviour in the interview, as he became a controversial figure both within the club and among fans.

And, since leaving Tottenham, it does not appear that he has secured another job.

Defender Cristian Romero appeared to be at fault for Arsenal's winner, as Brazilian defender Gabriel easily shrugged Romero off before scoring the header which sealed the three points for the visitors.

After the game, Romero responded to the criticism he faced by sharing a post on X from Argentine TV reporter Gaston Edul that blamed Tottenham for how they managed the return of their players from international duty.

The post, originally written in Spanish, translated to: “Tottenham lost to Arsenal again.

"They weren’t able to fight until the end because they weren’t across the details.

“It was the only Premier League club that made their international players return, on their own and without proper logistics, on the decision of the club’s leadership.

“They gave away the advantage because their players arrived with less rest than the others: Cuti Romero played with tiredness.”

Five days before the fixture, Romero started for Argentina in their 2-1 defeat to Colombia during the World Cup qualifiers campaign.

Typically national federations are responsible for organising the travel to and from their player's clubs for any international game, but some clubs decide to organise private travel to get their players back as soon as possible.

However, Tottenham do not often feel the need to do this and, as Thursday was a day off for the club's players, they decided that this would not be necessary for Romero, and it appears that 26-year-old is suggesting that this impacted his tiredness, and therefore his performance, during the North London derby.

Romero later deleted his reposting of Edul's claim.

Tottenham suffered defeat to Arsenal in the north London derby and Son Heung-min’s post-match interview has raised eyebrows.

Spurs were beaten thanks to a second-half header from Gabriel as their poor set-piece record under Ange Postecoglou continued at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs conceded 16 goals from set-pieces last season out of 54 excluding penalties but Postecoglou refused to be drawn on their apparent weakness from dead ball situations.

The ex-Celtic boss said Tottenham worked on them like any other in the league but came unstuck against their rivals.

He told Sky: “I know, I know, for some reason people think I don't care about set pieces and it's a narrative that you can keep going on for ages and ages.

“I understand that. Like I said, we work on them all the time like we do for every other team. You know that they're a threat, as I said, for the most part, we handled them really well today, but we switched off for one and we paid a price and you learn from that and you move on.

"But it is what it is, you know, it's my burden to carry mate and I'm happy to do that. It's not like, like I've always said, for me, there's a bigger picture that's at play here that's much more important than the finer details of us getting to where we want to. For us, the way forward is to try to turn the football we're playing now into something meaningful.”
