Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons were forced off in Tottenham's win over Wolves due to injury

Roberto De Zerbi has provided an update on Tottenham duo Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons after the pair were forced off in the win over Wolves.

Spurs secured a vital three points over Rob Edwards' side on Saturday afternoon, with Joao Palhinha netting a late winner at Molineux Stadium. The victory came with consequences, however, as Solanke came off in the first half with what looked like a hamstring injury. Xavi, too, picked up what looked to be a knee injury after the interval and was stretchered off.

Speaking after the match, De Zerbi said: "Solanke a muscular injury, Xavi it's a problem with his knee. We go to see in the next few days.

"Solanke it's not a big problem, I don't know how many games we lose him. I would like to know more about Xavi though because you know the knee, it's always different to the muscles. He felt pain but now I spoke with him and he feels better than the beginning when he got his injury."

Despite Tottenham's win, the Lilywhites remain in the relegation places as they battle to avoid a drop to the Championship. West Ham beat Everton 2-1 at London Stadium on Saturday, with Callum Wilson's 92nd-minute winner keeping two points between the sides.

"I believe we will stay up," De Zerbi told the media after the win against Wolves. "If I stay here it's because I'm positive. Not because I'm a coach of Tottenham.

"It's not important if you're Tottenham on the pitch, the most important thing is the qualities of the players and the human levels of the players. It was a surprise to me. When I got to know them.

"It's just two points not 10 points. West Ham are a good team but so are Tottenham. When you watch on TV you can't tell if they have the right spirit and the right attitude. Now I've worked with them every day and they are professional, good guys and they are suffering from this situation.

"I just need to give them order because I didn't like the second half. We need to play more like the first 30 minutes, creating more chances and more shots on goal."

Palhinha told BBC Sport: "Hopefully it changes something.

"This victory is much more than that for me, the fans, and the whole club, it’s not a normal season that we have been living until today. We all have responsibility in this season."

On the relegation battle: "We have four finals [remaining]. We need to do our jobs. Hopefully this win can change things, give us a bit more motivation as well as it’s been a long time without victories.

"What we can control right now is doing our job until the end of the season and keeping the club where it belongs, which is the Premier League.

"We will give everything we have until the end of the season because it means a lot for us to keep [Tottenham] in the Premier League."

Here are our Tottenham player ratings after their victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon

Tottenham finally won a Premier League game in 2026 as they came away with a 1-0 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon and here are our player ratings.

Spurs went to Molineux looking to put the pressure on West Ham who were taking on Everton at the same time back in London. Roberto De Zerbi was without left-back Destiny Udogie, who picked up a muscle injury in the draw with Brighton, and Djed Spence came into the starting line-up looking to press his England World Cup claims.

That was the only change De Zerbi made from the draw with in-form Brighton, with Randal Kolo Muani keeping his place on the right with Xavi Simons on the left and Conor Gallagher as the number 10 behind Dominic Solanke.

Wolves sat back in the first half and Tottenham struggled to break them down despite having most of the ball with 68.9% of the possession. The visitors then lost Solanke 38 minutes in with what looked like a hamstring injury to keep up their miserable injury record this season with De Zerbi losing four players in his first three matches.

In front of the 3,000 travelling Spurs fans, Joao Palhinha finally found a breakthrough. A corner in the box fell for Richarlison and his effort was squirming wide before the midfielder slid the ball into the net.

It required an incredible last gasp flying save from Antonin Kinsky from Joao Gomes to keep the three points heading back to London, where West Ham beat Everton to keep Spurs in the drop zone but still two points behind their rivals.

Here are our Spurs player ratings:

Antonin Kinsky

Made a big dash and dive to stop Armstrong getting through after the hour mark. Was solid with everything he did and then came that huge last-gasp flying save to keep the three points. 9

Pedro Porro

Struggled to make an impact in the first half but played a terrific pass to Xavi early in the second half for an opportunity. Battled away late on. 6

Kevin Danso

Had one iffy moment in the second half when Kinsky bailed him out but otherwise did well with most of what came his way. 7

Micky van de Ven

Very little got past him down his side as he was often covering for Spence's runs as well. 8

Djed Spence

Covered plenty of grass down the flank but offered little going forward. 6

Rodrigo Bentancur

Spurs' best player in the first half and they needed him throughout the whole game with his improving fitness. 8

Yves Bissouma

Tried to move the ball quickly and took a big hit late in the half with a lunging tackle by Andre. Didn't do much wrong defensively but couldn't offer much in the other direction. 6

Randal Kolo Muani

Powered an early shot wide of the right-hand post. Offered very little else, with some underhit passes, and was hooked at half-time. 3

Conor Gallagher

Gave everything he had as he covered most of the pitch. Didn't offer much going forward though as the number 10 in another energetic display. 6

Xavi Simons

Struggled to create in the first half. Ran into the box early in the second period on to Porro's pass but fired over under pressure. Then went down under a challenge soon after at the byline. Tried to run it off, collapsed, then seemed to be saying he wanted to come on again but was taken off on a stretcher. 5

Dominic Solanke

Lasted only 38 minutes before having to come off with an injury which looked to be his hamstring. Hadn't offered much before that other than an early push on him in the Wolves box that VAR looked at briefly. 4

Subs

Richarlison

Fought away and will end up getting the assist for his squirmed shot heading wide. Looked like he should have got a penalty at the end. 5

Mathys Tel

Came on for the second period and caused some problems for Wolves down that flank. Far more than Kolo Muani anyway. 6

Lucas Bergvall

An energetic cameo albeit without much quality on the ball. 5

Joao Palhinha

An unlikely match-winner but he'll take it. In the right place at the right time. Fought for everything in midfield before and after that. 8

Radu Dragusin

Tottenham Hotspur were dealt a huge blow in their Premier League relegation battle

Tottenham Hotspur and Roberto De Zerbi were dealt yet another injury blow after Dominic Solanke was forced off during their Premier League clash with Wolves.

The Spurs striker was replaced by Richarlison in the 40th minute after going down off the ball and receiving treatment from the physios.

The England international has had a torrid time with injuries since arriving at the club from Bournemouth in 2024, making just 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

Solanke suffered an ankle injury early in the season and needed surgery to put that right, and has made just 15 Premier League appearances.

It's yet another unwanted blow for De Zerbi as he looks to steer Spurs clear of the relegation zone, who are already without several key players.

The Lilywhites head to Molineux to take on already relegated Wolves, two points behind West Ham United in 17th.

Spurs have lost Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Mohammed Kudus, Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie since De Zerbi took over at the club.

It's been a campaign marred by injuries to several key players and the injury to Solanke is yet another major blow in their fight against relegation.

Wilson Odobert, Ben Davies, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski have all been out with long-term injuries, though there's hope the latter could return for the World Cup.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Wolves, De Zerbi said: "I'm sorry for him because he was one of my perfect players.

"He's a very specific player for me, like Kudus, like Romero. I hope he can play in the World Cup because the World Cup for a player is a moment. It's the best period of his career.

"But I don't know the situation very well."

Speaking to ViaPlay about his injury, Kulusevski said: "I haven't played in a year. I know what the chances are. But if there is one person on the planet who can do this, I would bet on myself.

"And we are not just going there to participate. Sweden will aim to be one of the best."

Tottenham Hotspur are teetering on the brink of relegation and have just a few games left to save their Premier League status

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch says every one of the Spurs players will be available for transfer this summer and doesn't believe there's enough quality in his old side.

His former club are in a real battle against relegation, two points adrift of West Ham United and safety.

Roberto De Zerbi has just five game left to secure Spurs' status as a Premier League club. They take on already-relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon, before games against Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton.

Crouch believes playmaker Dejan Kulusevski has been a huge miss this season with a knee injury and it's played a part in Spurs' struggles.

However, the former Lilywhites striker believes the club's position is a true reflection of the quality in their squad.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Crouch said: "To me, everyone is available [to be sold]. I think they need a complete rebuild. There’s not enough quality there.

"To me, Dejan Kulusevski is the biggest miss this season. His injury is just a massive mystery at this point and his absence is one of the main reasons they’re down in 18th.

"Unfortunately, their current position reflects their current team. I don’t think they’re much better than West Ham."

De Zerbi is trying every trick in the book to get Spurs out of the mess they find themselves in and ahead of the game against Wolves, said: "For sure my words are not enough and I try to find the best solution to reach every player.

"Sometimes you arrive with a video, sometimes with words, sometimes with red wine, or a beer. I don’t know.

"Sometimes analysis videos but sometimes what they have done in their career, also in other clubs. (Randal) Kolo Muani, if I play with Kolo Muani as right winger it’s because he has played in that position.

"If you go to YouTube, and you go to Kolo Muani (at) Eintracht Frankfurt, you can see he played very well in that position and he scored a lot of goals in that position.

"When I don’t work in my office, I go to find something to be important for me to give more information about the players because we have no time and we have to consider everything to stay up.

"YouTube or WyScout, I use to find something to think what can be the best solution, for the players, not for me. Today is April 24 and we have not won a game in 2026.

"Do you think the players suffer for this? For sure. To win a game can give us, give them more energy, more confidence, more positivity but they are human."

Here is the Tottenham team that Roberto De Zerbi has selected to face Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon

Roberto De Zerbi has named his Tottenham team to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs have not won a league match at Molineux since 2021 and they will be looking to end that streak as they need to put the pressure on West Ham this weekend. Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo was the Tottenham head coach back in 2021 and now he will be hoping his old side falter while his current outfit overcome Everton.

Destiny Udogie is out with a muscle injury for Spurs and Djed Spence comes into the starting line-up. Guglielmo Vicario remains out after his hernia surgery, Pape Matar Sarr has a shoulder problem and James Maddison is on the bench but De Zerbi claimed he is not available to play after feeling some minor pain as he continues his return from his ACL injury.

Tottenham must end their winless Premier League streak at Wolves on Saturday afternoon if they are to start saving their top flight status.

Roberto De Zerbi can only save Spurs from relegation with positive performances from his players in the remaining five matches of the season and on Saturday he takes them to Molineux, a place the north London club have not won at in the league since 2021 under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese is now the manager of West Ham, who Spurs need to put pressure on with a positive performance at Wolves as the Hammers play at the same time at home against Everton. Wolves have already been relegated so all the pressure is on Tottenham to avoid the same fate. De Zerbi is without the likes of Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, Dejan Kulusevski and Pape Matar Sarr while James Maddison is unlikely to play a part despite potentially being on the bench.

Our Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold is at Molineux and will be providing live updates and analysis from the Premier League clash in the blog below.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham are locked in a relegation battle with a month left of the season

Tottenham Hotspur have been predicted to suffer relegation in Opta's final Premier League table with West Ham maintaining their top-flight status.

The north London side sit 18th in the table and are two points off the Hammers with five games to go in the season. Fellow relegation contenders Nottingham Forest claimed a huge victory on Friday when defeating Sunderland 5-0 at the Stadium of Light to go eight points clear of safety.

The emphatic victory by Vitor Pereira's side has given them breathing room in the dogfight with Spurs and West Ham look likely to battle it out in the final few games. Opta's predicted table had Arsenal as the Premier League champions and Spurs finishing 18th with a points tally of 36.90.

West Ham finished narrowly above in 17th with 38.49 points and Forest some distance away in 16th with a final total of 44.02 points. Remaining without a Premier League win in 2026 with their last victory coming in late December against Crystal Palace, Spurs travel to the already-relegated Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

With upcoming games against Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton, picking up three points at Molineux is of the utmost importance and as Roberto De Zerbi said, is a must-win game for his side.

The Italian boss was speaking ahead of the crucial clash and insisted while he does not want to pile on the pressure on his players, they know the significance of the match. He said: "I don't want to put pressure but we have to know the situation.

"We can't forget the table; we can't forget we need to win. What we have done until now is not enough. If we win at Wolves, it's not finished. There will be four games. We deserve to win games. I knew Brighton was one of the best teams in the league. After Chelsea, everyone understood. We played a good game but we were unlucky."

Despite losing 4-0 to West Ham and 3-0 to Leeds in their last two games, Wolves' recent impressive home form doesn't spell good reading for a Spurs side already suffering from a total lack of confidence.

Speaking about his side's trip to Wolves, De Zerbi insisted: "It's not an easy game. The last three at home, they drew with Arsenal, and won against Aston Villa and Liverpool. It's a tough game because they have nothing to lose. We have to be able to play, not too much pressure.

"My work is to prepare the game in my best way, but to play football. These players are very good players. They have important qualities, and they play without too many problems in their head."

Tottenham's nightmare XI next season if they're relegated and five players leave in exodus

Tottenham are fighting for their Premier League survival, and a string of first-team stars could wave goodbye if they are relegated to the Championship

Tottenham are facing the very real prospect of relegation from the Premier League. And the north London side's starting XI would look very different next season if they drop down to the Championship.

Spurs haven't won a top-flight match in 2026, and their unfathomably poor run of form has seen them plummet into the bottom three. Roberto De Zerbi replaced the firefighting Igor Tudor at the beginning of the month, but his team still sit two points off West Ham in 17th.

With other potential relegation candidates, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, putting together results, and both Burnley and Wolves already down, it appears to be a two-horse race between Tottenham and the Hammers for Premier League survival.

Should De Zerbi's side lose this battle, one would assume that the squad would undergo a monumental change in the Championship. football.london takes a look.

FOLLOW OUR TOTTENHAM FB PAGE! Latest Spurs news, analysis and much more via our dedicated Facebook page

Firstly, there are a handful of current Tottenham stars that would be unlikely to feature in the Championship, given their quality and wages. These include Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. This group of five, valued at £230m by Transfermarkt, could help Spurs balance their books slightly.

It could also be said that the likes of Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie and Lucas Bergvall would wish to seek a move away. Randal Kolo Muani and Joao Palhinha's loan moves would almost certainly not be made permanent either.

Many other first-team players could wish to leave, meaning that Spurs would likely have to rely on some of their academy stars to make an impact. Young Mikey Moore has thrived on loan with Rangers this season, and he could return to spearhead the Spurs attack. Wilson Odobert has Championship experience from his time with Burnley.

Dane Scarlett could lead the line at centre-forward for Tottenham, having enjoyed loan spells with Oxford United and Ipswich Town in the second tier.

Conor Gallagher and James Maddison are both reportedly two of the club's highest earners, and so they'd need to take a pay cut if they stuck around. But the English pair could put their faith in an immediate promotion and stay put.

Archie Gray has been a bright spark in what is a dark time for Spurs, and he could round off the midfield. In defence, Kevin Danso's reportedly low wages could make him an ideal stalwart at the back, with Radu Dragusin also potentially remaining.

Brazilian teenager Souza could be given the nod at left-back, and if Gray isn't used at right-back and an academy star doesn't step up, a fairytale return for Kyle Walker, who has just been relegated with Burnley, isn't entirely far-fetched.

It is also worth noting that while Spurs would take a significant financial hit upon relegation, they could also strengthen their squad with further signings. Antonin Kinsky can keep his place in goal, however.

Here's the Tottenham Hotspur team that we reckon Roberto De Zerbi will select to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday

Roberto De Zerbi must deliver his first win at the helm as Tottenham travel to Wolves in the Premier League.

Molineux has not been a happy hunting ground for Spurs and they have not won a league game there since a 1-0 victory in August 2021. With Tottenham now languishing in 18th place in the table and two points from safety with just five matches to go, they must bring that poor run to an end this weekend.

Destiny Udogie is a new injury for De Zerbi's list at Tottenham and he appeared to suggest at his press conference on Friday that his absence would spark the return of Djed Spence to the starting line-up with 19-year-old Souza also an option.

Guglielmo Vicario remains out after his hernia surgery, Pape Matar Sarr is missing with a shoulder problem and James Maddison is likely to be picked on the bench but not available to play after feeling some minor pain as he continues his return from his ACL injury.

De Zerbi hinted that he is likely to stick with most of the team that performed well against Brighton for large periods on Saturday, including the experienced midfield pairing of Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma, together for the first time since the Europa League final in Bilbao 11 months ago.

The only change he might consider making is bringing in Mathys Tel in place of Randal Kolo Muani and the Spurs boss spoke about that decision in his press conference when asked what the 20-year-old needs to do to force his way into his starting line-up.

"Nothing more, because I'm happy with him. He has a great attitude, he has great qualities, he's very young. Kolo Muani has much experience, but we'll go to see in the next game," he said.

"Maybe he can start in the first XI, but I don't like to change too many players, one game, one game. Especially now, we have to find the connection between the players. They have to be able to communicate inside of the pitch."

Here's the team we reckon De Zerbi might go for:
