Description

Tottenham and their chase for a new number 10 has taken another turn, and it involves La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.

Earlier this week, some very promising news for Spurs supporters emerged through information that Daniel Levy is now actively pursuing a deal for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze.

The 27-year-old, who racked up 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last season, has been a top target for Arsenal in the last few weeks, but Mikel Arteta's north London rivals now pose a serious threat to their deal after opening talks with Palace.

Insider Paul O'Keefe was first to sniff out the development on Tuesday morning, and a plethora of reliable media sources have since confirmed that Tottenham's move for Eze is a very realistic possibility.

The prospect of Spurs signing both Eze and Man City winger Savinho to fill the gaping voids left by James Maddison's long-term injury and Son Heung-min's departure to LAFC is a very exciting one, but as we've seen with the Lilywhites this summer, deals are rarely straightforward.

Tottenham were on the verge of bringing in Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest earlier in the window, and had been ready to trigger his past £60 million release clause before a scheduled medical last month.

However, Forest's legal intervention ceased any chance of Thomas Frank welcoming Gibbs-White to N17, with the 25-year-old since putting pen to paper on a brand-new £150,000-per-week contract.

Levy and technical director Johan Lange will be hoping history won't repeat itself with Eze amid stiff competition from Arsenal for the midfielder's signature, and Tottenham reportedly have Como starlet Nico Paz as an alternative.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported last week that Tottenham had a £35 million offer rejected for Paz, but it is reported that the Argentine is still on their radar as a potential option to fill Maddison's shoes.

Real Madrid thwart Tottenham discussions for Como starlet Nico Paz

Paz's situation at Como is a complicated one, as he's sort of unofficially still a Real Madrid player.

Xabi Alonso's side have full matching rights on any deal for him, a hefty 50 per cent sell-on clause and even possess a buy-back option worth just £8 million for the summer of 2026 and £8.5m for 2027 (Football Italia).

Therefore, the 20-year-old's future is firmly in Real's hands, and they've now made it clear that the attacker's long-term place is in Spain.

That is according to journalist Graeme Bailey, who told TBR Football that Real Madrid have stepped in to thwart Tottenham's discussions for Paz.

“Spurs are one of several clubs, via various channels, that have asked about Nico Paz, but Real Madrid have stepped in to make it clear that his future is in the Spanish capital," said Bailey.

“In theory, Spurs, or indeed other interested clubs, could have secured a loan-type deal as Como have, but that does not appeal given there would be little to no chance of a permanent deal if he performed well.”

Dream Maddison replacement: Spurs chasing incredible £30m Eze alternative

Description

James Maddison has been an impressive option for Tottenham Hotspur over the last couple of years, after joining the side in a £40m deal from Leicester City in 2023.

However, injuries have massively halted his progress in North London, suffering four separate setbacks within his two-season stint at the Lilywhites to date.

His latest issue will undoubtedly be his biggest, suffering an ACL injury in the pre-season outing, with the Englishman expected to be out for the vast majority of the 2025/26 campaign.

Thomas Frank would’ve been excited to work with the 28-year-old during his first year at the helm, but any success the pair endure together will have to be put on hold for the foreseeable future.

As a result of the injury setback, the hierarchy have had to dip back into the transfer market to help bolster the first-team squad in an attempt to strengthen their chances of building on their Europa League success.

Eberechi Eze has once again been linked with a summer move to Spurs this window, looking to pounce and take advantage of the £60m release clause in his contract.

The Lilywhites are facing a battle with North London rivals Arsenal to land the England international, who registered 16 goal contributions in the Premier League last season.

However, he’s not the only player in England’s top-flight currently on their radar, with Brighton star Facundo Buonanotte a player they’re tracking, according to the Daily Mail.

Their report claims that Frank’s side are following the Argentine’s progress ahead of a potential move between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

It also states he’s just one of a number of players that the club are monitoring, but it’s unclear whether the Seagulls will be willing to part ways with the 20-year-old before the deadline.

sS from earlier this summer suggested that Brighton could be willing to sell for around £30m

Whilst Eze remains a player firmly on their shortlist, other options are currently being explored, as the side look to have a contingency plan should they miss out on his signature.

His consistency in England's top-flight would make him an excellent addition, offering the player the next step in his career, allowing him to become a leading talent under Frank’s guidance.

However, the interest from their bitter rivals could make for an interesting battle, with one of the two sides having to suffer a blow in missing out on his signature.

It wouldn’t be the end of the world for the Lilywhites, having options to fall back on, as seen by their recent hunt for a new attacking midfielder over the last few days.

Buonanotte is just one of many on such a list, potentially having the tools to be a huge hit with the supporters if he makes the move to join Frank’s men.

When comparing his stats to Maddison from last season, the youngster highlighted that he has all the tools to fill the void left after his long-term injury setback.

The Argentine, who’s been labelled “unbelievable” by Clinton Morrison, completed more progressive carries and more carries into the final third - having the ability to thrive with the ball at his feet.

He also completed more take-ons per 90, along with a higher tally of through balls completed - able to add an end product to his mazy runs, handing those ahead of him with the tools for success.

Out of possession, Buonanotte has also impressed, making more recoveries and tackles per 90, fitting perfectly into Frank’s system, which requires a huge amount of running - especially without the ball.

No fee has yet been touted for the Brighton star, but it’s clear that he has the ability to be an excellent option for the Lilywhites in their hunt for future success.

Eze will still remain a key option, but if they miss out on the Englishman, a deal for Buonanotte could be an excellent alternative, having the ability to develop further under the Dane’s guidance.

Tottenham weighing up Eze alternative in Serie A star who Levy once bid for

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are widely reported to be in talks over a deal for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, but he isn't their only playmaking target, as chairman Daniel Levy assesses alternative options too.

A dramatic late move for Eze would seriously help to put a pretty miserable recent few weeks behind Spurs.

In the space of a few days in early August, Thomas Frank was forced to both wave an emotional goodbye to club legend Son Heung-min and find a way to cope without the creative influence of James Maddison.

Since Son's departure, Cristian Romero has replaced the South Korean as captain of the Lilywhites, but Frank is still attempting to fill the gaping void left by Maddison's serious injury.

Hearts were in mouths when the 28-year-old collapsed to the turf and was stretched off against Newcastle in Seoul, and it has since been confirmed that Maddison will miss most of the 2025/2026 season after suffering an ACL rupture.

Before losing Son and Maddison in different respects, Tottenham missed out on a £60m deal for Morgan Gibbs-White in the most bizarre fashion imaginable.

The original plan was to complement Maddison with Gibbs-White's arrival, but in a sorry state of affairs, Frank heads into the new season with neither - despite going as far as to book a medical for the latter last month.

Dejan Kulusevski's lengthy lay-off with an injury compounds Tottenham's troubles, but their newly-opened talks for Eze have sparked some hope that the north Londoners can back Frank with a much-needed new creator before the summer deadline.

Spurs are in negotiations to sign both Eze and Man City winger Savinho in separate deals right now, but as we've seen from their transfer window so far, Tottenham's business is rarely so straightforward.

If a deal cannot be done for Eze, the club do have fallback targets, and one of them is Como sensation Nico Paz.

Tottenham weighing up Como starlet Nico Paz after alleged rejected bid

Last week, Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Tottenham had a £35 million offer rejected for Paz, but his colleague Michael Bridge now states that Frank's side are still there for the Argentine.

According to Bridge, in a fresh Sky Sports update, it is believed that Tottenham are still weighing up Paz as an option in their search for a number 10, but it could be a very difficult deal to do.

"The main players Spurs want are a No 10, a defender and a winger," reported Bridge in a Q&A.

"Eberechi Eze is a player who's been on their radar for some time. But before now, it's never gone beyond someone they've got an interest in.

"Now the Crystal Palace midfielder can be considered among their top targets. They are also assessing other targets, including Como's Nico Paz - but that is looking like a difficult deal to do."

Cesc Fabregas' Como have set a valuation of around £60 million for the 20-year-old, which is a similar price to Eze, and could arguably be viewed as much more of a gamble.

Paz has just one full season of regular football under his belt, with Spurs in need of a more proven playmaker right now, despite some praise from footballing icon Lionel Messi.

“Nico has many qualities and understands the game perfectly," said Messi.

"He has an impressive mind and is working with a coach who is my friend (Cesc Fabregas) who will help him grow even more.”

Description

Tottenham Hotspur will desperately want to make amends in the Premier League this season, after falling way below the high expectations they’ve set for themselves in recent times.

The Lilywhites ended the 2024/25 campaign in a measly 17th place, sitting just one place above the relegation zone - which ultimately cost Ange Postecoglou his job.

Such a departure has allowed Thomas Frank to take the reins in North London, taking the next step in his managerial career, after spending seven years in charge at Brentford.

The Dane has already added Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha to his ranks, but it’s likely that added reinforcements will be targeted before the September 1st deadline.

As a result of his ambitions in the market, numerous players have emerged on their radar in recent days, with the hope that they can join the club with just a couple of weeks left in the window.

The latest on Spurs’ hunt for new additions this summer

Manchester City star Savinho has become a surprise target for Spurs in recent days, potentially leaving his current side after just one season at the Etihad Stadium.

It’s been reported that the 21-year-old would be open to a move to join the Lilywhites this summer, with Pep Guardiola’s side currently demanding around £60m for his signature.

However, the attacker isn’t the only Premier League talent currently in their sights this window, with Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze also being considered, according to GIVEMESPORT.

The report claims that talks have already been held between the player and Frank’s side, with Arsenal also firmly in the race for the 27-year-old’s signature this summer.

It also states that the manager is a huge fan of the player who’s also keen on a move to join the Lilywhites, with the Englishman having a £60m release clause within his current contract at Selhurst Park.

Why Spurs’ £60m target is better than Gibbs-White

Spurs’ hunt for new additions in the attacking department could’ve easily been solved by now, had they completed a deal for Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White.

The hierarchy decided to trigger his £60m release clause in his deal at the City Ground, with the 25-year-old even set for a medical earlier in the summer window.

However, whilst a move seemed a formality at one stage, Reds’ owner Evangelos Marinakis intervened in such a deal, voicing his displeasure over an alleged illegal approach for his signature.

Such a move was put on hold, which cast doubt over a deal to sign Gibbs-White, leading to the England international penning a new three-year deal with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.

As a result, other options have had to be considered in North London, leading to their potential move to sign fellow Englishman Eze in the coming weeks.

When comparing his stats to those of Gibbs-White from the most recent campaign, the FA Cup winner managed to outperform him in multiple areas, offering a better option for Frank’s side ahead of 2025/26.

Eze, who’s been labelled “sensational” by talkSPORT’s Rory Jennings, posted more goals and assists along with more shot-creating actions per 90, possessing more of a threat when in front of goal.

He also completed more key passes and more passes into the final third per 90, able to provide more chances to other attackers around him in North London.

The Palace star’s dominance over Gibbs-White is further highlighted in his take-on success rate and progressive carries completed per 90, having the tools to take the ball into dangerous areas on a more consistent basis.

Missing out on the Forest star will undoubtedly be a huge disappointment for the Lilywhites fanbase, but the hierarchy can’t rest on their laurels for the remainder of the window.

A deal for Eze would be an excellent piece of business, undoubtedly handing the side a better option in attacking areas, allowing the club to have the best chance of success in 2025/26.

The price Tottenham want to pay for Eberechi Eze as Levy eyes quick-fire deal

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks to sign Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, as widely reported, and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has a price in mind.

Fabrizio Romano was among the reliable media outlets to confirm Spurs' negotiations for Eze in a separate deal to their pursuit of Man City winger Savinho, with supporters now poised for a potentially exciting end to the transfer window.

"Understand Tottenham are also back in talks for Eberechi Eze in separate deal from Savinho," wrote Romano on X.

"Spurs trying again for Eze while they work on Savinho, following Maddison injury and Son exit. Eze keen but deal depends on Palace as release clause expired."

Interestingly, other reliable media sources differ with Romano about Eze's £68 million release clause.

According to both talkSPORT and Standard Sport, the buy-out currently remains active and won't expire until this Friday - potentially giving Levy and co a window of opportunity to trigger it and make Eze a Spurs player.

In a further bit of good news for Thomas Frank, who is in dire need of another creative attacking player after James Maddison's ACL rupture, Eze is reportedly becoming open to joining Tottenham before the transfer deadline on September 1.

It is important to note that Frank's side face stiff competition from north London rivals Arsenal, who have been in pursuit of the 27-year-old for well over a month after holding consistent talks with his representatives (Fabrizio Romano).

However, Arsenal currently have to make sales first (The Telegraph), and that may be stopping them from making a formal bid for Eze.

Their hesitancy could hand Spurs an advantage in the race for Eze, especially considering Levy and technical director Johan Lange were ready to splash £60 million on Nottingham Forest's number 10, Morgan Gibbs-White, over a month ago.

The price Tottenham want to pay for Eberechi Eze

According to reliable journalist Ben Jacobs, Tottenham have a minimum valuation for the England international and an ideal price they're willing to pay, as Levy looks to strike a deal quickly.

Taking to X, Jacobs reports that Levy wants to pay a similar fee to their deal for winger Mohammed Kudus - around £55 million.

That being said, Palace have been clear in their demands to sell their star attacking asset.

"More on Eberechi Eze and Spurs. Fresh talks started in light of James Maddison injury and failure to land Morgan Gibbs-White. Eze a longstanding target, but earlier in the window Spurs had decided not to move.

"Spurs aware Arsenal have player buy in, but believe Eze has not discounted their project. Spurs also prepared to move quickly. Both Spurs and Arsenal view Eze as a No.10. Understand Spurs’ starting valuation similar to the £55m paid for Mohammed Kudus. Palace want £68m release clause triggered or matched, even after it expires."

Given Tottenham's glaring need for another forward option, after losing Son Heung-min to LAFC, Maddison to injury and being forced to deal with Dejan Kulusevski's continued absence, it is imperative that Levy pulls no punches here.

Eze appears set to cost a similar price to what they were more than prepared to pay for Gibbs-White, so the Lilywhites clearly have the necessary funds to meet Palace's valuation.

He'd be worth every penny, too, having averaged more shots, key passes and successful take-ons per 90 than any other Palace player in the Premier League last term - all whilst racking up 14 goals and a further 11 assists in all competitions.

Eze can also play on the left-wing when required, and you can make a serious case that he's exactly who Frank is crying out for.

A better signing than Savinho: Spurs are huge admirers of £60m "magician"

A better signing than Savinho: Spurs are huge admirers of £60m "magician" - Football FanCast
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are in for a season of change throughout 2025/26, after Thomas Frank was appointed following Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal earlier this summer.

The Aussie was brutally dismissed during the off-season after winning the Europa League, subsequently ending their 17-year drought without any form of silverware.

However, it was the club’s 17th-placed Premier League finish that saw his time in North London come to an end, with Daniel Levy wanting the club to become serial winners in the near future.

The new manager will want to put his own stamp on the first-team squad, as demonstrated by the additions of Mohammed Kudus and João Palhinha already this summer.

Despite the work already being conducted in the window, the Dane evidently wants further reinforcements to make his first year at the helm a positive one.

The latest on Spurs’ hunt for new signings this summer

Eberechi Eze has once again emerged on Spurs’ radar over recent days, after previously being a target before their failed move for Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Lilywhites have entered talks with the player’s representatives over a move to North London, but face competition from rivals Arsenal to complete a deal for his signature.

However, he’s not the only attacking midfielder in their sights this window, with Como star Nico Paz a player who could join the Lilywhites, according to The Athletic.

Their report claims that Frank’s side are huge admirers of the 20-year-old, who registered 14 combined goals and assists across all competitions last campaign.

It also states that Real Madrid could yet trigger a buy-back option after selling him last summer, with a £60m asking price being mooted for the Argentine’s signature.

Why Spurs’ latest target would be a better signing than Savinho

Alongside Spurs’ hunt for a new number ten, they’ve also made moves to land a new left-winger after Heung-min Son’s £20m move to join LAFC in recent weeks.

Manchester City star Savinho has been mentioned as a potential option for the Lilywhites, even entering direct talks with Pep Guardiola’s side over a deal for the Brazilian.

Whilst they’re currently holding out for £60m to part ways with the 21-year-old, it’s been reported that the player himself has already given the green light over a move to North London.

However, Frank already has numerous options at his disposal in such an area, with Richarlison, Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert all capable of filling the void left by the South Korean.

Savinho’s tally of 14 combined goals and assists last season would undoubtedly provide an added threat to the side in attacking areas, but a move for Paz would be a much better addition this summer.

James Maddison’s injury has left a huge hole in the middle of the side, but any move for the Como youngster would offer an immediate and long-term option to Frank’s first-team squad.

When comparing his stats to those of the Brazilian from the recent season, Paz managed to outperform the attacker, further showcasing why he’d be a better addition this summer.

Paz, who’s been labelled a “magician” by one analyst, posted a higher tally of goals and assists last campaign, whilst also registering a better goal per shot on target rate - offering the Lilywhites a more potent threat in front of goal.

He also achieved a higher pass accuracy, whilst completing more passes into the final third, with such tools making him a more creative option - subsequently producing another threat with the ball at his feet in the attacking third.

Such all-round dominance over the City star is further highlighted in the take-on success and aerial ability, subsequently being the perfect all-round option in and out of possession.

Whilst £60m may be a steep fee for a young talent with one year's experience in senior football under his belt, it could prove to be an excellent piece of business if he can build on his early success.

Whilst Savinho would also be a great addition, the hierarchy should be prioritising a move for the former Real Madrid youngster between now and the end of the summer window.

Their answer to Eze: Spurs to trigger release clause of "elite" £22m star

Their answer to Eze: Spurs to trigger release clause of "elite" £22m star - Football FanCast
Description

After missing out on the signature of Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, Tottenham Hotspur have been trying to secure a new attacking midfielder ahead of the new campaign.

The signing of Joao Palhinha in a deep-lying position has solved one of the underlying problems in the side, allowing them to focus on other areas of the pitch as a result.

James Maddison has for so often been the player who’s occupied the number ten role in North London, but new boss Thomas Frank will be unable to rely upon him during the first few months of the campaign.

The Englishman sustained an ACL injury in the pre-season clash against Newcastle United, which is expected to rule him out for the majority of the 2025/26 season.

Such a setback has highlighted the further need for additions in the middle of the park, which could see numerous players being pursued before the September 1st deadline.

The latest on Spurs’ hunt for a new attacking midfielder

Over the last couple of days, it’s been confirmed that Spurs have entered talks with Crystal Palace over a potential deal to sign midfielder Eberechi Eze.

However, if they are to secure the signature of the England international this summer, they will have to battle North London rivals Arsenal - in what could be a two-horse race.

He’s not the only player they’ve been considering as of late, with Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss also in their sights, according to TheBoyHotspur.

Their report claims that the Lilywhites are set to trigger his £22m relegation release clause in his contract, after the Foxes suffered an immediate return to the second tier last season.

It also states that the player himself would be keen on a move to join Frank’s side, with their Champions League status seen as a huge bonus in their pursuit of the Moroccan international.

Why Spurs’ latest target would be their answer to Eze

There’s no denying that Eze would be a phenomenal addition for Spurs this summer, but it’s currently unclear as to whether he would want to join Frank’s side.

The 27-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s most potent forwards in recent times, as seen by his superb tally of 16 goal contributions in his 34 appearances throughout 2024/25.

He’s registered three goals and one assist in his seven outings against the Lilywhites, potentially landing a star who has constantly caused havoc against them in England’s top-flight.

Having a player of his talent would hand the new boss the added quality he needs to build on the Europa League success achieved last season, whilst also denting their rivals’ ambitions in the process.

However, whilst he may remain as many of the supporters’ first choice this window, El Khannouss could be an excellent alternative to Eze, following a similar trend should he move to North London.

The 21-year-old would replicate the Englishman in joining the club from a Championship outfit, before developing into one of the biggest threats in England’s top-flight.

Despite suffering relegation to the Championship last season, it didn’t stop the youngster from outperforming Eze in numerous key areas - arguably being a better addition for the club this summer.

El Khannouss, who’s been labelled “elite” by analyst Ben Mattinson, achieved a better goal per shot on target rate last season, arguably being a more clinical option for the Lilywhites within the final third.

He also notched higher tallies for progressive passes and passes into the final third per 90, able to create more chances for his potential new teammates throughout 2025/26.

The Leicester star’s dominance is further highlighted in his higher take-on success and tally of carries into the final third, subsequently able to single-handedly create an opportunity out of nothing for Frank’s men.

£22m would be a sensational piece of business by the club, able to land a talent with bigger potential for a fraction of the cost if they decide to move for the Moroccan instead of Eze.

Given the lack of quality in such a department, given Maddison’s injury, it’s vital the club make the right addition, with El Khannouss able to fill the void and continue his development and become a leading Premier League talent in North London.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have their eyes on two rising Welsh stars from the same club and could sign both of them this summer, according to a new report.

Spurs boss Thomas Frank is widely seen as a 'project manager' and famed for his expertise in developing younger players.

You could make a case that the Dane is literally perfect for chairman Daniel Levy, and the Lilywhites have already moved to ensure that Frank will have a wide range of promising young talents to nurture during his time in N17.

Outstanding young winger Mikey Moore, who impressed during Spurs' Europa League campaign last season, was awarded a brand-new long-term contract earlier this week, following his season-long loan move to Rangers, with Alfie Devine also signing an extension last Friday.

The north Londoners are also always on the lookout for world football's brightest gems, as evident by their transfer activity in recent years.

Highly-rated young Croatian defender, Luka Vuskovic, finally linked up with the squad this summer after Spurs agreed a deal for him in 2023, and he's expected to potentially go out on loan to further his development.

Meanwhile, Tottenham also signed Japanese sensation Kota Takai earlier in the window for a J-League record £5 million, but unlike Vuskovic, the 20-year-old is poised to be in and around Frank's first-team squad.

Spurs believe South Korean starlet Yang Min-hyeok, who's out on loan at Portsmouth following another temporary stint at QPR last term, is highly-rated behind-the-scenes at Hotspur Way and could also be one to watch out for in the coming years.

“If Yang Min-hyuk can be described in two words, it’s power and pace. Add adaptability, and he becomes a versatile asset for Tottenham’s attacking football," said Korean football expert, Joel Kim, last year.

"Yang brings incredible speed to the attack, running with youthful vigour. His surprising physical strength allows him to dominate veteran defenders in the K-League 1, Asia’s most physical league.

“His greatest asset might be his adaptability; like Son Heung-min, Yang is two-footed and can play on either the left or right wing. Comparisons to Anthony Gordon and Federico Chiesa highlight his potential."

The future appears bright at Tottenham, but Levy and technical director Johan Lange have their eyes on "two rising Swansea stars".

Tottenham serious contenders to sign Harlan Perry and Brogan Popham

That is according to TEAMtalk, with Swansea duo Harlan Perry and Brogan Popham attracting real attention from N17.

They're seen as "two of the most sought-after teenagers in British football", according to this report, and they've apparently blown scouts away across the UK.

Man United and Man City have both held preliminary talks with their representatives, but it is now believed that Tottenham have emerged as the 'most serious contenders' to sign Popham and Perry alongside Watford.

Perry, a dynamic midfielder, and Popham, a towering centre-back, haven't committed to professional deals at Swansea, so Alan Sheehan's side are apparently very exposed to losing both of their biggest talents.

The 17-year-olds, who've both represented Wales at youth international level, appear more than likely to leave the Swansea.com Stadium - and they could well be off to Tottenham.

Description

Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy have been sent a warning by intermediaries behind-the-scenes that one of their targets is now close to joining another club, according to a new report.

As we now enter the last three weeks of this summer's transfer window, the pressure is on Levy, technical director Johan Lange and the Lilywhites recruitment team to shore up weakened areas of Thomas Frank's squad.

Tottenham are already set to take on Ligue 1 and European champions PSG in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday with an arguably weaker squad than last season, having lost club legend Son Heung-min to LAFC and James Maddison to a long-term ACL injury.

The need to strengthen is absolutely paramount, especially since fellow creative force Dejan Kulusevski will remain sidelined with his own knee problem for a "long time", according to Frank.

Spurs have already signed Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus, Kota Takai and Joao Palhinha on loan this window, as well as triggering the obligation to buy in Kevin Danso's deal from January, but the north Londoners are aiming to bring in more new additions before the deadline on September 1.

As widely reported, Tottenham are in talks with Man City over signing Brazilian winger Savinho after losing Son, with the former Girona star increasingly open to joining after Frank personally pinpointed him as the ideal signing.

A deal for the 21-year-old is likely to cost in excess of £45 million (Ben Jacobs), which could still be seen as excellent value considering Savinho's age and performances in all competitions last season.

Meanwhile, to cope without Maddison for a large portion of 2025/2026, it is also believed that Spurs have emerged as serious contenders to sign Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze and could hijack Arsenal's long-winded pursuit.

Levy and Lange were after a number 10 even before Maddison's injury, having failed with a high-profile move for Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White earlier in the window, but the need for a new attacking midfield maestro has now intensified.

According to reliable journalist Alasdair Gold recently, Tottenham are also keen on signing another centre-back.

Tottenham sent Joel Ordonez warning as Marseille close in on deal

As per TBR Football and journalist Graeme Bailey, Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez has been on their radar for around 12 months and the club have stayed in regular contact.

However, intermediaries have now warned Tottenham that Marseille are closing in on a deal for Ordonez, so if Levy is serious about signing the Ecuadorian, he'll have to act very quickly.

Both Frank and Liverpool boss Arne Slot are said to be monitoring developments when it comes to the 21-year-old's potential move to France, with Bailey reporting that Ordonez is viewed as a "standout" performer for Brugge and a "huge talent".

"Ordonez is a huge talent, I am told by numerous Premier League clubs that this boy is held in huge regard," said Bailey.

"He is one of those players that not just shows up analytically but when you watch him, he really is a standout performer.”

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have now opened talks to sign an "incredible" forward, and Thomas Frank thinks he's "ideal", transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

Tottenham set sights on new winger following Son exit

With Son Heung-min moving to LAFC, and James Maddison suffering an ACL injury, football finance expert Dan Plumley believes Tottenham could be in line to make two more additions to their attack this summer.

Plumley said: "They have signed Kudus, but he’s a bit more of an out-and-out winger, but I think they’ve probably now got to be looking at right, we’ve lost Son, that’s a big gap to fill.

"But also, we’re now without James Madison for the season, and that’s another gap to fill. I think they’ve got to go and spend in the market off the back of those two things."

Jack Grealish had been named as a potential option for Spurs earlier in the transfer window, but widespread reports suggest the Manchester City winger is now closing in on a move to Everton.

With Eberechi Eze also edging closer to Arsenal, the Lilywhites have now set their sights on a different Premier League forward, according to Romano on X.

The transfer expert states that Tottenham have now opened talks over a deal for Man City winger Savinho, and there is a feeling the Brazilian would be "open to the move" if a transfer fee can be agreed.

The forward is regarded as "ideal" by Frank, but it could be difficult to get a deal over the line, given that City are eager to keep hold of him, having set a relatively high asking price.

"Incredible" Savinho could be ideal replacement for Son

Man City were far from their best in the Premier League last season, but the winger enjoyed an impressive debut campaign, recording ten assists, while also proving himself to be a very impressive dribbler of the ball.

Much like Son, the starlet has predominantly featured at left-wing throughout his career to date, indicating that he could be a like-for-like replacement for the South Korean, should the youngster be able to improve his goal tally.

The City forward scored just one Premier League goal last term, but he is still very young and has plenty of time to develop, and Pep Guardiola waxed lyrical about him last season.

Savinho could be a suitable replacement for Son, but it could be difficult to get a deal done, with City hesitant to sanction a sale.
