Man City fans share how they feel about Savinho’s move to Tottenham being off, Rodrygo deal is cancelled

After being perpetually linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, it seems like Savinho could end up staying at Manchester City.
Manchester City have decided to keep Savinho but by doing so, Pep Guardiola’s interest in signing Rodrygo could be rendered futile.
The Sky Blues’ plan was to only make a move for the Real Madrid winger in case his fellow Brazilian departed the Etihad Stadium.
While some Manchester City fans are delighted that Savinho could stay put, others are equally disappointed as they were desperate for Rodrygo’s potential arrival.
Fans react after Savinho to Tottenham and Rodrygo to Man City moves are off
One Manchester City fan is happy about Tottenham’s pursuit of Savinho being off as he believes the 21-year-old is better than Rodrygo, even if he lacks the latter’s ruthlessness in front of goal: “Savinho is a better baller than Rodrygo. I only wanted Rodrygo because of the finishes, I still believe he can unlock that or rather he really can. Maybe, Pep [Guardiola] is not playing him correctly, all his amazing goals always come from the left [wing]…so Pep should be playing him there.”
A second City supporter feels that the youngster could improve his finishing and turn into a top player, writing: “Finishing issues are fixable.. remember pre-[Carlo] Ancelotti Vinicius? If the floor is high (ability to get a lot of shots), more often than not, the player ends up scoring a lot of goals.”

A third Manchester City fan claimed that Savinho has the potential to become an even superior player to Rodrygo, explaining: “Genuinely believe he has a higher ceiling than [Jeremy] Doku, if he puts his head down and works, he can become as good as Rodrygo in the next one, two years.”
However, other fans believe the opposite, with one fan claiming that despite the former Troyes winger being talented, the 24-year-old would have been a massive upgrade on him: “Rodrygo over him any day, I’d take Mcatee over Savinho. He looks the part but I just can’t see it happening at City.”
Another frustrated fan claimed that City have made an error in judgement by stopping their pursuit for Rodrygo, who Pep Guardiola admires by writing: “The one player in our history that we’ve actually been offered good money for the only time ever we decide instead of granting him his wish to leave we’ll keep hold of him. We saw against Wolves that Savinho is redundant now at this club, Rodrygo for an extra £20 million would be a star.”
Finally, a sixth fan claimed that if Manchester City go through with their decision not to sign Rodrygo, regardless of Savinho potentially staying, it could cost them in the Premier League title race: “I’d be gutted if this one doesn’t happen, I think it’s the difference between title and no title.”
The fans are divided and all eyes will be on the latter to perform if he stays at City this summer.
Savinho to Tottenham move could be off due to one big reason
Manchester City were always keen on keeping Savinho until Tottenham entered the fray, prompting them to target Rodrygo’s signature.
However, it looks like both players have a chance to focus away from potential transfers and instead prioritise becoming the best versions of themselves on the pitch.
Savinho did not speak to Pep Guardiola about his desire to join Tottenham and ultimately, that is perhaps the reason why his potential move as well as Rodrygo’s to Manchester City seem unlikely now.
Fabrizio Romano revealed on Sunday: “If Savinho goes to Pep Guardiola’s office and says, ‘Coach, I want to go. Pep, let me go’, in that case, you’ll remember what happened with Julian Alvarez and other players, Man City could try to find a solution with Tottenham.”
