Savio is about to prove a lot of Premier League pundits wrong this season - LiveScore
Description

Tottenham Hotspur spent 85 million pounds in order to finally sign Savio from Manchester City, and while that price tag is partially inflated by the fact that he came as a package deal with Omar Marmoush, who was sold for slightly less officially so that Man City could get away with paying back Eintracht Frankfurt a lower sell on clause, don't tell that to the Premier League pundits who are slagging off this deal just as readily as they did the Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes midfield signings.

Never mind the fact that Savio is an explosive athlete with a lot of skill who is only 22, once had nearly 20 goal contributions in a La Liga season for Girona as a Player of the Season contender who briefly fought for the title against a nearly undefeatable Real Madrid in 2023/24, and was vastly underutilized by Manchester City.

Savio is about to prove a lot of people who overly focused on his goals and assists at Man City, without even acknowledging how good he was at impacting games before that in a tougher league to score, very wrong indeed.

Savio has become underrated

Manchester City barely even cared about playing Savio and left him as an afterthought, and that was a huge reason why he was so desperate to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer transfer window. Spurs were actually trying hard to sign him for a year before Man City finally gave in.

In his first game off the bench against Charlton Athletic in the League Cup, Savio scored and assisted off the bench, showing his explosiveness and the end product that Manchester City did not think he had. And while people will try to downplay. that performance by pointing out that it came against second rate competition in Charlton, it is important to note that most new signings don't adapt so quickly that they are generating goals off the bench immediately.

Savio is a special player. He would put defenders on skates and blow by them as a mere teenager at Girona, and he was doing that for Manchester City, too, when he did play, including off the bench in big Champions League games against clubs like Real Madrid. So while outlets like The Athletic may not rate Savio highly among summer signings, Tottenham know better than to listen what the outsiders say and to trust the tape, trust the quality of the player, and trust the process.

Tottenham Reject £20m Bid as Richarlison Exit Talks Continue - LiveScore
Description

Richarlison has reportedly agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor and given the Turkish club the green light to press ahead with a move away from Tottenham, though the transfer itself is still unresolved. Spurs have rejected two bids for the forward, and another proposal is expected before this saga is settled one way or the other. If you’ve been tracking the wider exodus at the club this window, this latest twist in Tottenham’s player exits won’t come as a huge shock.

The update comes from Fabrizio Romano, who says Richarlison has agreed to join Trabzonspor with his salary settled at three times what he currently earns in north London. Trabzonspor have identified the 29-year-old Brazilian as their priority attacking target, and Romano’s post notes that Tottenham have already knocked back offers worth £15 million and £20 million, with a new proposal anticipated soon. According to the report, Richarlison earns around £90,000 per week at Spurs before bonuses, per Capology – context worth keeping in mind given how his role has shrunk amid Tottenham’s broader forward-line planning this summer.

Personal terms are one thing, a fee is another

Richarlison saying yes to Trabzonspor is a genuine step forward for the Turks, but it’s not the same as a deal being done. Spurs still have to decide whether an improved offer is worth accepting, and two rejections so far suggest they’re not simply waving him off for whatever’s put in front of them.

On the reported terms, tripling his current wage would put Richarlison somewhere around £270,000 per week – a potential figure based on Romano’s multiplier rather than a confirmed contract number. The source describes it as a package that would make him one of the highest earners in Turkish football if it goes through, which tells you plenty about how badly Trabzonspor want this done, and rather less about whether Spurs will play ball.

What happens next

Trabzonspor are expected to come back with an improved third offer, with the club treating Richarlison as their No. 1 target before their own deadline. Tottenham haven’t accepted anything yet. Until they do, this stays exactly what it’s been for weeks: a move both the player and the buying club want, waiting on the selling club to say yes.

Roberto De Zerbi is actually right about Pape Matar Sarr and Kevin Danso

Roberto De Zerbi is actually right about Pape Matar Sarr and Kevin Danso - LiveScore
Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans are not happy with losing key backup center back Kevin Danso, who was the main backup to Jan Paul van Hecke on the right side of the defense, at the very last second of the summer transfer window to a team that finished higher than Spurs in the 2025/26 Premier League table, Sunderland.

Danso has his issues, but he was a likable character, a Europa League champion, and a great pure defender who was easily Spurs best center back in the air. And he could come up with great performances in the clutch, including in that very Europa League tournament they won in 2025.

Meanwhile, Spurs also made another tough last second sale, sending Pape Matar Sarr to Juventus. While both deals are loans, they come with obligations to buy that will likely be met, with the two sales potentially generating close to a combined 50 million pounds in revenue.

Roberto De Zerbi is making Tottenham some money

That is money that can help Tottenham Hotspur, and while some of the backlash to losing Danso and Sarr is about the players who are replacing them, Spurs fans have to be honest and say that Danso and Sarr are worth selling for that kind of money if a 50 million pound player would be, say, another footballer on the caliber of Jan Paul van Hecke or Omar Marmoush - two players Spurs signed this summer for right around that kind of money.

Pape Matar Sarr is definitely a better center midfielder with more potential than Conor Gallagher, and Kevin Danso is a better center back than Tosin Adarabioyo. But in the case of Danso, is he really nearly 20 million pounds better than Tosin, whom Spurs signed for just seven million euros from rivals Chelsea? Probably not.

As for Sarr, he is better than Gallagher, but Gallagher is not getting sold any time soon. Roberto De Zerbi's affinity for the England international is a problem in and of itself, but it is fair for the manager of the club to have his way of playing and his philosophy. Sarr, honestly, does not fit that philosophy, and if Sarr and De Zerbi know the player will do better in another team and maybe even another league, it makes full sense to sell him for some decent cash than rather keep him around to toil on the bench.

Tottenham fans may not 100 percent like it and have valid reasons for their concerns, but De Zerbi is, at the end of the day, right to make these sales. Kevin Danso wants to throw a tantrum after not starting the League Cup even though he scored anyway? Well, good riddance, and Spurs will replace him at a profit. Sarr isn't going to play and will take minutes from two higher upside players in Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall? Then let him go, too.

Sarr’s Juventus Loan Could Bring Tottenham £23.6m

Sarr’s Juventus Loan Could Bring Tottenham £23.6m - LiveScore
Description

Pape Matar Sarr has left Tottenham for Juventus on a season-long loan, with the Serie A club announcing the move on deadline day. The agreement includes an obligation to buy the Senegal midfielder for £23.6m if certain conditions are met during the 2026-27 season, according to the BBC.

Spurs fans have watched this one edge closer for a while, and Sarr’s exit was hardly a shock by the time it landed.

What the BBC Confirmed

The BBC’s report, published on 1 September 2026, sets out the basics without frills: Juventus have taken Sarr on loan for the season, and there’s a buy obligation attached rather than a straightforward option. Sarr joined Tottenham from Metz back in 2021, went on to make more than 100 Premier League appearances for the club, and was part of the squad that won the Europa League in 2025. Internationally, he’s earned 42 caps for Senegal since his 2021 debut and lifted the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022.

A Loan With Strings Attached

The £23.6m figure isn’t a done deal – it’s conditional, tied to specifics for the 2026-27 season that the BBC doesn’t spell out. That’s the important bit to hold onto: this is a loan that can become permanent, not a permanent transfer dressed up as a loan. Spurs will get their money if the boxes get ticked; if they don’t, Sarr’s future stays unresolved beyond this season.

Juventus weren’t shy about their business elsewhere on deadline day either, also announcing Newcastle forward Nick Woltemade on a season-long loan – though that deal, per the BBC, carries no option to make it permanent, a materially different structure to Sarr’s. It’s a reminder that not every Juventus loan this window is the same shape, and it follows the club’s earlier loan interest in Tottenham personnel.

What Happens Next

Sarr’s season at Juventus will effectively decide whether Tottenham see that £23.6m. The BBC hasn’t detailed what the specific conditions are, so there’s no guarantee attached to this beyond what’s already confirmed – a loan now, a possible permanent deal later, depending on how the campaign unfolds.

The best possible Tottenham starting XI with Mykhaylo Mudryk

The best possible Tottenham starting XI with Mykhaylo Mudryk - LiveScore
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have sent shockwaves across the Premier League news cycle again this summer transfer window, but instead of making a hugely positive splash like with Savio, Omar Marmoush, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali, Spurs have puzzled everyone by signing Chelsea's unwanted left winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. Here is how the out of favor Ukrainian international could fit the Spurs starting XI...if he ever starts.

Defense: GK Antonin Kinsky - LB Destiny Udogie - CB Micky van de Ven - CB Jan Paul van Hecke - RB Pedro Porro

The best Tottenham Hotspur defense isn't hard to figure out, and aside from Marcos Senesi potentially pushing Micky van de Ven or Jan Paul van Hecke for minutes, there is really no competition for places here. Anyone who thinks Andy Robertson should play over Destiny Udogie needs to rewatch the Newcastle loss.

Midfield: DM Rodrigo Bentancur - DM Sandro Tonali - AM Mateus Fernandes

When everyone is healthy, Xavi Simons is obviously the starting No. 10 for Tottenham Hotspur, but right now, Mateus Fernandes is the best option in the playmaker role, especially after he had another strong performance, even in that position and even in Spurs loss to Newcastle. Rodrigo Bentancur used to be an afterthought, but since Roberto De Zerbi's arrival, he is back to being one of the better center midfielders in the English top flight.

Attack: LW Mykhaylo Mudryk - CF Omar Marmoush - RW Savio

Now here is where Mykhaylo Mudryk slots in. Unlike the other new winger signing this summer Savio, Mudryk is totally locked in one side of the pitch. Savio can play as traditional left footed left winger or an inverted right winger, but Mudryk can only play on the left side of the attack and cut in and shoot. How he coexists with Omar Marmoush remains to be seen and should actually be a real worry for De Zerbi and Tottenham, as Marmoush will need some chance creation from the wing, which Mudryk never really provided during his time at Chelsea.

As for the right wing position, there is a case to be made that Mohammed Kudus, who is more of that sort of a playmaker, across from Mudryk is the move, but Savio is a favorite of Roberto De Zerbi's and the 85 million pound signing. He is starting over Kudus in most cases, particularly since he adds goals without losing much playmaking danger.

Tottenham land Mudryk on loan as Chelsea winger seeks revival of “Ballon d’Or potential” - LiveScore
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Mykhailo Mudryk on loan from Chelsea for the campaign.

Mudryk is set to cross the capital and sign for Spurs on a season-long agreement, as the Ukraine winger looks to revive his career.

The 25-year-old was freed to return to football earlier last month after a four-year suspension was overturned. He had been suspended since November 2024 after a banned substance was found in a drugs test but denied any intentional wrongdoing. Mudryk was cleared to return following an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The winger had been keen to remain in the Premier League as he explored a loan exit from Chelsea and Spurs have now secured his services.

The North Londoners will pay a loan fee for Mudryk, who has agreed personal terms. Spurs will have a non-mandatory option to sign Mudryk for a fee of £75m at the end of the loan, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Can De Zerbi reunion help Mudryk get career back on track?

Mudryk will reunite with former Shakhtar Donetsk manager Roberto De Zerbi at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

De Zerbi coached Mudryk at the Ukrainian side during the 2021/22 season, a campaign which saw the winger become a regular and score his first senior goal.

The Italian previously expressed his belief that Mudryk had the talent to win a Ballon d'Or.

Speaking in 2022 after former club Brighton were linked with a move to sign Mudryk from Shakhtar, De Zerbi said: "Mudryk is a fantastic player but Brighton can't buy him. I like him, just like all my ex-players I like, but Brighton can't buy Mudryk."

He added: "I think Mudryk can win the Ballon d'Or in the future. I know the value of Mudryk, he has the potential to win the Ballon d'Or."

Roberto De Zerbi made the only move he could with Richarlison

Roberto De Zerbi made the only move he could with Richarlison - LiveScore
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of closing a deal for Everton star forward Iliman Ndiaye, which is contingent upon Richarlison heading back the other way to join the Toffees. From a Spurs perspective, the choice is a no brainer. Ndiaye is younger and more dynamic than Richy, and while Spurs will miss how fully COYS the Brazilian international was, as well as his goals, Matchday 1 of the 2026/27 Premier League season was a reminder that the player simply is not good enough.

Spurs accelerated the departure of Richarlison when Roberto de Zerbi basically told the press that Richarlison wants out, to which Richy responded with a social media post about being unfairly villainized, which many interpreted at a shot back at the Tottenham coach for his comments.

Everyone knows that Richarlison has been the one loyal to Spurs and that the striker is the one who has actually rejected moves away from the club. Tottenham have been trying to sell Richarlison for a couple of years now, but he has shown no interest in moving to the Saudi Pro League or Turkey - money is of no interested to him either.

Roberto De Zerbi had to snap into action

But Everton could be. Richarlison was loved by the Toffees much more than he has been loved by Spurs, and he is a club legend for them after carrying them to Premier League safety a couple of years ago just before joining Tottenham Hotspur. At that time, Everton were beyond horrible and as poor as Spurs were last season, with Richy even playing through an injury to keep them up.

While Tottenham fans are grateful to Richarlison for his love for the club and for his goals in also helping to save them from relegation last season, it is indeed time to go. Tottenham are signing new players, and they have added Omar Marmoush to replace him as the new No. 1 striker, with Roberto De Zerbi believing in Dominic Solanke as a backup more than he is in favor of the former Brazil national team starter.

3 bright spots Tottenham fans can take away from 2 awful losses - LiveScore
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have lost their first two games of the 2026/27 Premier League season by a combined score of 5-0 to Brentford and Newcastle United. But as they wait for a team they despite even more than these two in Nottingham Forest next weekend, they still have a few positives to take with them.

Omar Marmoush and Savio

Iliman Ndiaye may still be coming shortly before the summer 2026 transfer window ends and Nottingham Forest beckon, but already, Tottenham's two big attacking signings Omar Marmoush and Savio have been highly impressive in their debuts.

Savio contributed directly to two goals off the bench against Charlton Athletic in a scintillating performance in which he looked exactly like the guy who was giving Real Madrid's superstars a run for their money in the La Liga Player of the Season battle during the 2023/24 season.

Meanwhile, Marmoush did not score or assist, but he had three key passes and three dribbles completed against Newcastle United in a game in which Spurs otherwise embarrassed themselves as an attack, including starting Pedro Porro on the right wing.

Key players returning to fitness

Speaking of Porro and the right wing, starting 2025/26 season right winger Mohammed Kudus is coming back to fitness, as is the Spanish national team star, who was the best right back of the 2026 World Cup - yes, even over PSG superstar Achraf Hakimi.

That's not all, though. Micky van de Ven, Sandro Tonali, and Destiny Udogie are three more crucial starters who are coming back to full fitness. Once Tottenham have these five players firing on all cylinders, they will definitely be a better team.

Mateus Fernandes

But the biggest bright spot for Tottenham Hotspur is young defensive midfielder Mateus Fernandes, who, with James Maddison injured again after dislocating his shoulder against Brentford, is now also the club's best option as the No. 10. Fernandes has been great in all three of Spurs games to start the season, which is literally something that cannot be said for any other player on the team.

He looks like a top player in all phases, both in and out of possession and with the ball and in defense. Fernandes creates chances, wins possession, and progresses play at a high level. Even more so than Sandro Tonali, Tottenham have a franchise building block in midfield in the Portuguese international. Fernandes is a guy who makes everyone else better.

Tottenham’s Winger Problem Makes New Signings Essential

Tottenham’s Winger Problem Makes New Signings Essential - LiveScore
Description

There’s a reason Tottenham fans are more excited about Savio and Omar Marmoush arriving together than about anything Mathys Tel or Mikey Moore have shown so far this season. The two wingers have had their chance to answer a simple question, and the early evidence says they’ve got it wrong.

Richarlison’s Matchday 1 horror show against Brentford was bad enough. Then Tel turned up against Newcastle United on Matchday 2 and, by most reasonable accounts, was worse. That’s the backdrop against which Tottenham’s need for attacking reinforcements stopped being a debate and became a necessity.

The wrong answer, delivered twice

Neither Tel nor Moore has taken advantage of the opportunities put in front of them in the 2026/27 Premier League season. The question being asked of them by Tottenham and Roberto De Zerbi was straightforward: are you ready to be trusted with a key role? Right now, both are answering no, even if nobody is writing off their long-term upside just yet.

From preseason promise to Premier League reality

Tel’s performance against Newcastle was a jarring drop from his eye-catching preseason form, including a standout showing against Hoffenheim. In the Premier League proper, he lost the ball repeatedly, slowed down attacks that needed pace, and looked like a player who hadn’t quite worked out what he was supposed to be doing on the pitch.

Moore hasn’t fared much better. Two glaring misses in the Matchday 1 defeat to Brentford set the tone, and there’s been little since to suggest a correction is coming. Given that Tottenham fans have watched questions about Moore’s readiness for a first-team role circle for a while now, the early-season evidence isn’t exactly reassuring.

None of this is happening in a vacuum. Spurs signed Marmoush and Savio, a Manchester City signing. Their arrivals add to the competition for places while Tel and Moore continue to find their feet.

The upside argument still stands, for now

Tel and Moore are young, and both have shown flashes worth remembering – Tel’s preseason form and Moore’s assists against Hoffenheim. That is why Moore’s development path may well run through a loan spell rather than the first team. Tel, for now, looks most likely to stay and fight for his place.

Flashes of quality aren’t the same as consistency, and Tottenham need to see more from both wingers. They have long-term upside, but the early evidence suggests neither Tel nor Moore has answered the readiness question on his own.
