Description

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both set for exit talks this weekend after Fenerbahce representatives have jetted into London.

The north London clubs have both made some summer signings, but there is going to be a focus on potential exits to boost the transfer kitty.

Tottenham have added Mohammed Kudus to Thomas Frank’s squad, and they are also looking to add Morgan Gibbs-White.

Nottingham Forest have put the brakes on Gibbs-White’s Spurs move, but there is confidence at N17 that the deal will still go through.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are closing in on securing Noni Madueke’s signature, in a deal worth around £52m from Chelsea.

But in the era of PSR, both Spurs and Arsenal will require some player sales to create some headroom against the financial regulations.

This weekend, both clubs could be set to sanction an exit each, with Fenerbahce eyeing a player from each half of north London.

Fenerbahce arrive in London to discuss Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard

TBR Football’s transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, understands that Fenerbahce chiefs are holding talks with Arsenal this weekend over a possible deal for Leandro Trossard.

Trossard is a player Arsenal are willing to move on from and have allowed his representatives to talk to other clubs and terms in principle have been agreed.

Previously revealed by TBR Football, it is believed Arsenal are ready to sell Trossard this summer, but there are some obstacles currently in the way.

As it stands Arsenal are asking for €20m (£17m) for the Belgian, but Fener have refused to meet that mark thus far, but they are hoping to hammer out a deal this weekend.

Arsenal are eyeing Viktor Gyokeres in what would be an addition that would transform Mikel Arteta’s attacking line.

Fenerbahce are busy in the window having already concluded deals for Jhon Duran and Sofyan Amrabat, whilst Marco Asensio and Archie Brown are set to complete moves this weekend.

Tottenham hold Fenerbahce talks over Yves Bissouma sale

As previously revealed on TBR Football, Tottenham are now ready to sell Yves Bissouma, as Frank eyes midfield improvements just weeks into the job at Hotspur Way.

Now, it is understood that representatives from the Turkish side, Fenerbahce, have landed in London to discuss a potential deal for the midfielder.

Bissouma is also the subject of interest from the Italian powerhouse Juventus, with his time in north London coming under real pressure.

Description

Over the past few years, there has been a fair bit of trial and error in terms of the players in the Tottenham Hotspur ranks.

Although there have obviously been some success stories at Tottenham in that time, there have also been players who have come and gone after struggling to make much of an impact.

Some players, however, have done well after leaving Tottenham and end up emerging as targets for other clubs.

One player who Ange Postecoglou sold in the summer of 2023 has now emerged as a target for Como manager Cesc Fabregas after winning four trophies since leaving Spurs.

Davinson Sanchez wanted by Como two years after leaving Tottenham

The player in question is Davinson Sanchez, who spent six years at Tottenham between 2017 and 2023.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fabregas has placed the former Spurs defender on his shortlist to potentially strengthen Como’s defensive ranks.

Fabregas is also considering Celta Vigo’s Carl Starfelt, formerly of Celtic, as an option to bolster the Serie A side’s backline.

The likes of Napoli previously looked at Sanchez, while in the Premier League, West Ham and Everton were once keen on Sanchez.

How Davinson Sanchez has got on since leaving Tottenham

Sanchez was a record signing for Tottenham in 2017, joining from Ajax for a reported £42million.

Although the Colombia international broke the 200-appearance mark for Spurs and played a part in their run to the Champions League final, he was often in and out of the starting XI.

Sanchez was one of the first players to leave under Postecoglou as he joined Galatasaray in September 2023 for just under £13million, with Tanguy Ndombele going to the same club on loan.

Sanchez has had quite a fruitful time at Gala, making 76 appearances in all competitions and scoring eight goals and four assists.

In addition, the 29-year-old already has four trophies under his belt at Gala – two Super Lig titles, one Turkish Cup, and one Turkish Super Cup.

Although things sadly didn’t work out for Sanchez at Tottenham, it’s good to see him enjoying a fruitful career elsewhere – and he could potentially find himself in Serie A soon.

Fabrizio Romano shares how Tottenham are privately feeling about their actions in Morgan Gibbs-White deal now - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest are at odds over the Morgan Gibbs-White deal.

The North Londoners have been keen to strengthen their midfield this summer, and they have already signed Mohammed Kudus, who can play as a number 10.

Thomas Frank’s next target was Gibbs-White, a deal for whom seemed to be done after Tottenham agreed to trigger his £60 million release clause.

TBR confirmed that Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is furious about the Gibbs-White situation, and he has been considering legal action against Spurs.

What Tottenham privately feel about the Morgan Gibbs-White situation with Nottingham Forest

Even the most optimistic Tottenham fans were surprised when reports emerged that Spurs are ready to trigger Gibbs-White’s release clause.

The fact that it came right after Kudus was signed caught many off guard, and Daniel Levy agreeing to pay the full price of the clause instead of negotiating isn’t what anyone expected either.

All signs pointed towards Gibbs-White heading to Tottenham, but Nottingham Forest put a hold on the deal and reported the Europa League winners to the Premier League.

The Reds have accused Spurs of contacting the player without authorisation and going about the deal in a way that they deem was not appropriate.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the above, but he revealed that Spurs are adamant that they did nothing wrong and are still confident of signing Gibbs-White in the coming days.

He said in a video on his YouTube channel: “Nottingham Forest have started working on legal action against Tottenham for Morgan Gibbs-White.

“They believe that the way they used to proceed with the release clause was not the correct way, that they were not authorised to speak to the player. They were not happy at all at Nottingham Forest. They spoke to the Premier League about that. Now, the Premier League will investigate into this story.

“But, Tottenham maintain their position. They are convinced about their behaviour. They want to proceed with the deal, they want to sign the player. Nottingham Forest are prepared to fight. So, let’s see what’s going to happen there.

“But, for sure, the Morgan Gibbs-White deal now has an issue to be solved between the two clubs. That’s going to be one to watch in the coming days and hours, with Tottenham still hopeful and confident to get the player.”

Where should Morgan Gibbs-White play if he joins Tottenham?

There are a few fans who are confused about where Gibbs-White will play if he joins Tottenham.

The 25-year-old is incredibly versatile, but he is at his best when he starts in his natural attacking midfield role. He directly contributed to 16 goals in 32 games as a number 10 for Forest last season.

Jamie O’Hara thinks James Maddison will make way for Gibbs-White, and we think that would be the right decision at Spurs.

The Forest star is way more dynamic in that role, and we think Tottenham will become significantly stronger if Gibbs-White starts behind Dominic Solanke.

However, for this to happen, Spurs and Forest will need to reach an agreement first.

How Daniel Levy is really paying for lavish Tottenham transfer spree as Spurs ‘myth’ debunked

How Daniel Levy is really paying for lavish Tottenham transfer spree as Spurs 'myth' debunked - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have had a busy summer on the transfer front, signing a number of big-name players and targeting several more.

Mohammed Kudus has just joined Tottenham for around £55million, while Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso were recently signed permanently for a total of £51million.

Tottenham are now pushing to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest for £60million, while £50million-rated Brentford ace Yoane Wissa is also a target for Spurs.

TBR Football’s financial expert Adam Williams explains how Tottenham are really paying for this spending spree amid recent rumours of big investments in the club.

Tottenham spending spree likely financed via Champions League and shrewd financial management over the years

Williams believes that Tottenham’s spending this summer is nothing “wildly out of the ordinary”, given their healthy financial situation and Champions League boost.

In addition, Williams discussed how Spurs haven’t exactly been shy in the transfer market over the past few years, suggesting their frugal reputation is just a “myth”.

Williams exclusively told TBR Football: “We’re seeing significant investment at Tottenham, yes, but I personally don’t see it as anything wildly out of the ordinary.

“The fact they were prepared to spend £60million on Gibbs-White suggests their net spend is going to be at least £170million based on the headline figures we’ve seen.

“If they sign Wissa, it’s going to nudge that up towards £200million. But there are going to be some sales as well, and some big earners are going to leave.

Their player transfer amortisation in the last financial year was £136million, which was the fifth highest in the league. It’s going to have risen past £150million in 2024-25.

It could be closer to £180-185million by the end of the summer, so Spurs not spending money in the transfer market is a bit of a myth. It’s the wage bill where they are more frugal.

They have paid for a lot of their signings via instalments, though. Their transfer debt was the second-highest in the league last year at £337million.

“With them going big again this summer, that’s going to remain very high.

“But they are going to have Champions League income next season, which I think is going to be worth a bare minimum of £75million, even if they don’t win a single match.

“If they get out of the league phase, you’re looking at £110million-plus. Yes, that is offset by bonuses and players, but the net benefit is still massive.

“So I personally don’t think Tottenham need to have had a massive cash investment to be making these signings, depending on how they have structured the deals.

“They’ve got a £55million overdraft they haven’t used, they are going to make player sales, reduce the wage bill, and are probably going to see revenue of £650million in 2025-26.

“At the end of the last financial year, they had nearly £80million in cash reserves too. I suspect that has reduced somewhat by now, but it was the second-highest in the Premier League at the time.”

Rumours of £420million investment addressed

In recent days, there have been rumours on social media claiming Tottenham have received around £420million of investment.

ENIC are rumoured have invested £120million, while external sources have provided a £300million sponsorship investment.

Williams has now discussed said rumours, and he appeared sceptical about such big investments being kept under wraps this well.

“With Tottenham, if there had been a £120million investment from the owners, then we would expect to see something on Companies House very soon,” said Williams.

“The alternative is that they could have put money into the club via loans, but I don’t think ENIC have ever done that in their 25 years at the club, so I don’t think they’d start now.

“With regards to a £300million sponsorship deal, I’d be very surprised if they’d managed to keep that under wraps. It could only be a naming rights deal.

“Whenever I’ve spoken to people with knowledge of that process, it’s sounded like they’re in no rush whatsoever there.

“In any case, you aren’t going to get £300million in one swoop. It would probably be over 15-20 years. There might be a signing-on bonus, but it’s not going to get anywhere near that figure.

“So I don’t think investment has to have happened for Spurs to be operating like this in the transfer market.

“That isn’t to say that there hasn’t been an investment made or is close, but it’s not a contingency of these deals we’re seeing.”

Mohammed Kudus’ favourite Tottenham teammate might be the same player he’s competing with for a starting spot

Mohammed Kudus' favourite Tottenham teammate might be the same player he's competing with for a starting spot - TBR Football
Description

Mohammed Kudus has completed his transfer from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur, with the attacker expected to be a key player under Thomas Frank.

Tottenham agreed a £55m deal for Kudus following lengthy negotiations between Daniel Levy and David Sullivan over a fee.

The former Ajax star becomes the first player since Scott Parker in 2011 to make the switch between the two clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur now have an array of attacking options, and one Spurs player who Kudus is sure to love could actually be a player he’s competing with for a spot in Frank’s lineup.

Mohammed Kudus loves skilful players

New Tottenham signing Mohammed Kudus has previously revealed that he loves watching skilful players who try to entertain the fans.

The Ghanaian international stressed the importance of output, but admitted that being able to entertain is also crucial.

That is exactly what the 24-year-old is expected to bring to N17, having completed more dribbles than any other Premier League player since the start of the 2023/24 season.

Speaking back in August 2023, Kudus told Iron Cast: “I love creative players, ones that try and entertain the game.

“I know goals and assists are important, but I like creative players who would like to entertain the fans and try to do something different than what everyone is doing, than just passing the ball, you know?”

Tottenham fans will love to hear Kudus’ quotes, given that entertainment is something which is deeply rooted in the club’s DNA.

The attacker is a player who will certainly want to live up to the motto ‘To Dare Is To Do’ on the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Micky van de Ven and Mikey Moore said how skilful Wilson Odobert is

If Kudus loves skilful players, then he will be a big fan of Wilson Odobert, who Micky van de Ven and Mikey Moore claim is incredibly creative in this sense.

Van de Ven hailed Odobert’s skill, meanwhile, Moore added that he genuinely believes the Frenchman is Spurs’ most skilful player.

When asked which of his teammates deserves five-star skills, the Dutchman told Tottenham’s Instagram handle: “Wilson Odobert. He’s really quick with his feet, especially in one-versus-one training, where you can see it, so I would say he would get the five-star skill moves.”

Moore also agreed with the centre-back, adding: “Wilson. He’s got the best skills in the team, so I would go for him.”

However, Kudus and Odobert are expected to be fighting it out for a place in Thomas Frank’s line-up on the right side of Spurs’ attack.

The Frenchman featured mostly from the right wing last season, and that was the same case when he played for France U-21s over the summer.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have signed Mohammed Kudus despite his altercation with Micky van de Ven last season.

Spurs have suddenly become very active on the transfer market.

The North Londoners completed the signing of Kudus on Thursday, and almost simultaneously, Daniel Levy agreed to trigger Morgan Gibbs-White’s release clause.

The second deal is yet to be completed, at the time of writing, but Kudus is already in the building at Tottenham, and James Maddison is having some fun.

Micky van de Ven’s hilarious reaction after seeing Mohammed Kudus at Tottenham

Micky van de Ven and Mohammed Kudus have some history together.

The two players were involved in a physical altercation during a game between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United last season.

Kudus even struck Van de Ven on the face during the incident, leading to his first-ever straight red card.

Tottenham released a funny video of Kudus and Van de Ven after a deal to sign the former was completed, and Spurs fans loved that.

Now, Maddison has got in on the act.

The Englishman posted a video on his Instagram with the caption: “Micky, you alright this morning mate?”

The video first shows the Dutchman sitting across the table from Maddison. When the camera pans towards the right, Kudus can be seen in the adjacent table.

An edited clip of the two players’ altercation from last season is then played, before the camera shows Van de Ven again — Maddison can be heard asking if he’s ‘alright’.

Watch the defender’s hilarious reaction in the clip below!

Mohammed Kudus is an excellent signing for Tottenham

We’re sure there will be a lot of banter between Van de Ven and Kudus in the months to come, and that will be great to see.

But, all jokes aside, Tottenham deserve a lot of praise for signing the Ghanaian.

Many people felt that Spurs would find it difficult to lure Kudus out of their London rivals, West Ham, but for Levy to sign him for £55 million is incredible business.

The 24-year-old is incredibly versatile, possesses brilliant skills on the ball and has the ability to create and score goals in the Premier League.

Jamie O'Hara says which Tottenham player will be dropped after Mohammed Kudus and Morgan Gibbs

Jamie O'Hara says which Tottenham player will be dropped after Mohammed Kudus and Morgan Gibbs-White arrive - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have woken up in this summer’s transfer window.

The North Londoners completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United on Thursday, and on the same day, Spurs agreed to trigger Morgan Gibbs White’s release clause.

The English midfielder is expected to undergo a medical at Tottenham on Friday before completing his move from Nottingham Forest.

Both Kudus and Gibbs-White are excellent additions to Thomas Frank’s side, but how will they fit into this Spurs team? Jamie O’Hara has the answer.

Jamie O’Hara thinks James Maddison will be dropped at Tottenham

Tottenham have a number of options in attack.

The North Londoners made Mathys Tel’s loan move permanent earlier in the window, and the Frenchman is an option across the frontline.

Apart from him, Tottenham have Dominic Solanke, Son Heung-min, Wilson Odobert, Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison and even young Mikey Moore available in attack.

If Mohammed Kudus and Morgan Gibbs-White are both to start, others will have to make way.

O’Hara believes Maddison is the one who will be pushed down the pecking order.

The pundit said on talkSPORT: “I think that maybe pushes Maddison down the pecking order a little bit. I’m really interested to see where he puts…

“Kulusevski is a good player. When he is fit and he’s on it, he’s really good. Do you play Kudus on the left, Kulusevski on the right, Morgan Gibbs-White (as a 10), and Solanke (up front)?

“That, in my head, is probably how you would start. But, Kudus, he can play on the right as well, and he can play as a number 10.

“It’s interesting, it’s a good problem to have. We’ve got a lot of games.”

Tottenham will have to sell players

Maddison will likely be the one to make way for one of Kudus or Gibbs-White, but we still think the Englishman will have a role to play.

However, the same cannot be said about a few other players.

The likes of Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and even captain Son Heung-min may need to be sold to keep everyone at the club happy.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced their most high-profile signing of the summer transfer window so far as they welcomed Mohammed Kudus to North London.

Spurs have been busy over the past few weeks, signing Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso permanently along with Kota Takai, who arrived from Kawasaki Frontale in a £5million deal earlier this week.

Tottenham have signed Kudus in a £55million deal from West Ham United, and he is reported to have penned a six-year deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Kudus’ arrival at Tottenham was met with adulation from fans and peers alike, with Pedro Porro one of his first new teammates to send him a message on social media.

Porro joked with Kudus about what he – the full-back – would now “have to put up with” now the Ghana international is at Spurs.

Pedro Porro now set to ‘put up with’ Mohammed Kudus’ 1v1s in Tottenham training

Tottenham’s media team shared news of Kudus’ arrival on their official website along with their social media channels including Instagram.

Porro took to the post’s comment section to welcome Kudus, joking he’ll now have to put up with the midfielder’s 1v1s in training.

Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy, whose remixed version of Overlord was the background song on Kudus’ announcement video, also posted a message.

Thomas Frank has already given his verdict on Mohammed Kudus

Thomas Frank only arrived at Tottenham a month ago, but he has moved quickly to bring Kudus to N17.

TBR Football revealed that Tottenham’s talks for Kudus stalled on Tuesday evening, but Daniel Levy quickly convinced David Sullivan to accept his cash offer.

Frank has already spoken highly of Kudus, previously saying he is a ‘top player’, along with now-former West Ham teammates Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta.

Back in February 2025, Frank told the Brentford media team: “West Ham, in my opinion, offensively and defensively, have clear principles in all phases, they want to control more and more of the ball.

“They have some top players: Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen are really, really good.”

'Outstanding' midfielder would now love to sign for Tottenham, Fabio Paratici is aware of the situation - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understands that Douglas Luiz would love to sign for Tottenham Hotspur, and Fabio Paratici is aware of his desire to return to the Premier League.

As TBR Football exclusively revealed last week, Tottenham held talks with Luiz over a potential transfer, with the Lilywhites also interested in the midfielder.

The midfielder is just one of several options the Lilywhites are now considering. A holding midfielder and a number six are the new priorities after securing deals for both Mohammed Kudus and Morgan Gibbs-White.

Juventus have permitted him to find a new club, and his entourage are talking to various teams about a transfer away from Turin.

Luiz, who’s been called ‘outstanding’, has plenty of interest from the Premier League, with a return move to the English top-flight his preferred destination.

Douglas Luiz and Joao Palhinha options for Tottenham’s midfield

Douglas Luiz and Joao Palhinha are among the midfield options Tottenham Hotspur are currently assessing, sources have told Graeme Bailey, chief correspondent at TBR Football.

Palhinha was offered to several Premier League clubs, as TBR Football revealed last month, and Spurs are considering him as an option.

The 30-year-old’s move to Bayern Munich hasn’t quite gone to plan, and the German club are open to letting him leave this summer.

The Portuguese international has interest from Fulham and West Ham United, meanwhile, Arsenal and Manchester United have previously expressed an interest.

Meanwhile, Fabio Paratici is fully aware of Luiz’s situation at Juve and that the player is really keen to sign for a Premier League club.

The player’s people are now pushing for a move to the white half of North London, knowing that the player is very keen on Spurs.

TBR Football has previously reported that Paratici offered Juventus Yves Bissouma, and the Serie A club are open to signing the 29-year-old.

Tottenham keeping tabs on Adam Wharton’s situation

TBR Football can also reveal that Tottenham are keeping tabs on Adam Wharton’s situation at Crystal Palace.

Should the 21-year-old become available, Spurs could well look to make a move for the youngster who has been excellent in South London.

Any deal for Wharton would be very tricky as he is so highly rated at Selhurst Park and has a contract there until the summer of 2029.

Elsewhere, Monaco’s Lamine Camara, AC Milan target Ardon Jashari and Hugo Larsson from Eintracht Frankfurt are midfielders Spurs scouts have issued glowing reports on in recent months.

Description

TBR Football can exclusively confirm the latest around Nottingham Forest’s interest in Brentford forward Yoane Wissa amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds are set to lose two key players this summer, with Anthony Elanga joining Newcastle United and Morgan Gibbs-White heading to Tottenham.

TBR Football has revealed how Forest have been left frustrated by the Gibbs-White situation, as they were firmly planning with him for next season.

However, Forest are now in a position to reinvest the money they’ve earned, and Wissa is firmly in their sights – although it may not be a straightforward deal.

Nottingham Forest still in Yoane Wissa talks despite Brentford rejecting bid

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has confirmed that Nottingham Forest have rekindled their interest in Yoane Wissa in the wake of losing Anthony Elanga and Morgan Gibbs-White.

However, Brentford insist they want £50million for the DR Congo international.

Forest have made an offer of £25million but it was dismissed out of hand, though the Reds remain in talks over Wissa.

Newcastle United are also keen on the Brentford ace, and Tottenham are also firmly in the conversation, as we previously revealed.

We understand Thomas Frank wants Wissa to operate as a central striker.

“Wissa’s situation is complex,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“Brentford don’t want to sell – Bryan Mbeumo is leaving, but he has just a year left on his deal.

“Interest is now mounting, but I am told this might be a tough deal to do.”

What Yoane Wissa could bring to Nottingham Forest

Wissa has gone from strength to strength at Brentford since his move from Lorient in 2021, going on to register 49 goals and 13 assists from 149 outings.

The 28-year-old is a versatile forward who boasts impressive pace and power, and was among the most clinical finishers in the league last season.

Wissa has earned plenty of plaudits over his time at Brentford, with Frank previously saying he is capable of “magic moments” (Northern Echo).

Wissa could be comfortable as the lone striker in Forest’s 4-2-3-1, or he could play as a wide forward.
