Tottenham are already working on new signings, just days after winning the UEFA Europa League.

Spurs are still yet to back Ange Postecoglou publicly amidst widespread uncertainty at Tottenham in the wake of glory in Bilbao, but despite this, recruitment plans are ongoing.

Leroy Sane is one player Tottenham are pushing to sign, and an interesting exchange between the Bayern Munich No.10 and Heung-min Son has added a new dimension to the saga.

Heung-min Son and Leroy Sane have already met up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The South Korea international could be decisive this summer.

TBR Football understand Tottenham have opened talks to sign Sane on a free transfer, as his contract at the Allianz Arena nears expiry.

Now, footage has emerged from after the pre-season friendly between Tottenham and Bayern Munich last summer, where Son can be seen in a playful mood around the Germany international, tickling his beard before the pair walk down the tunnel together while embraced.

Sources have also told TBR Football that Arsenal are keen on Sane – who Bayern Munich spent £44.7m to sign from Manchester City in July 2020 – so the relationship between the German and the Tottenham No.7 could well prove decisive this summer.

The pair have never played together, although Sane and Son were in the Bundesliga at the same time while playing for Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV – they have also played for Bayer Leverkusen at different stages, offering another connection.

Not only is the 29-year-old close with Son, but his agent, Pini Zahavi, has a tight bond with Daniel Levy.

Christian Falk even claims that Zahavi is urging Sane to join Tottenham this summer, and there is another potentially key detail to digest, as the attacker’s family live in London.

With all of the above taken into account, a move to N17 for the Bayern Munich star would not be a surprise by any means.

Jean-Philippe Mateta names the 'very good' Tottenham player he hates playing against for one specific reason - TBR Football
Description

Jean-Philippe Mateta has been hailing a player from Tottenham Hotspur, whom he’s found is very tricky to play against due to one key trait of his.

Mateta netted against Tottenham Hotspur back in October and featured on both occasions against the North London club as the Eagles did the double over them.

The Frenchman truly announced himself as a top Premier League striker this season after ending the campaign with 14 goals in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace’s striker has been discussing his thoughts on one of Spurs’ top performers this season and revealed why he can be so tricky to face one against one.

Jean-Philippe Mateta hails Micky van de Ven’s speed

Mateta has hailed the speed of Micky van de Ven and labelled the Tottenham defender as a ‘very good’ player.

Van de Ven, who Glenn Hoddle loves, is the fastest recorded player in Premier League history, and his raw speed has earned him the prestige of being one of the league’s best defenders.

Speaking about the Dutch international’s pace, Mateta told the Premier League: “As a striker, you always make the runs. But this guy always comes to take the ball, you know. He’s very good!”

@premierleague The fastest player in #PremierLeague HISTORY is? 🫢 @spursofficial ♬ original sound – Premier League

Van de Ven was superb in the Europa League final as the 24-year-old played such an important role in helping Spurs end their 17-year wait for silverware.

Tottenham fans also praised Van de Ven for his match-winning clearance to deny Rasmus Hojlund a near-certain goal, which would have levelled the score at 1-1.

Son was wowed by Van de Ven’s speed when the defender produced one of the best assists of the season against Man United as he set up Brennan Johnson on the way to a 4-0 win at Old Trafford.

How fast is Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven?

Van de Ven was the only Premier League player to record a top speed of over 37km/h this season as he dominated the leaderboard, as per the Premier League.

The Spurs defender became the quickest player ever recorded in the Premier League in 2024 when he hit a top speed of 37.38 km/h against Brentford.

Description

Thomas Frank is being linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer to replace Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham remains in doubt, with Daniel Levy considering whether or not he should sack the Australian manager.

Despite winning them their first major in 17 years, Spurs could yet sack Ange Postecoglou due to the team’s 17th-place finish in the Premier League.

Tottenham have been considering replacements since January, as revealed by TBR Football, and one of the leading contenders is Brentford’s Thomas Frank.

Why Tottenham really like Thomas Frank

Frank is a manager whom Tottenham Hotspur strongly admire and it is believed that the Dane is a leading candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou, according to the Telegraph.

The 51-year-old has done an impressive job across the capital with Brentford, having turned them into a solid Premier League club

Frank took charge of the Bees whilst they were in the Championship and guided them into the top flight after just three seasons with the club.

His work in West London has now caught the eye of Spurs and Brentford could face a tricky test to fight off interest from the Champions League club.

It is believed that Frank’s ability to work with young players and develop them into top Premier League players is something which has impressed Levy and the Spurs board.

The Danish manager has helped improve players like Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins during his time with the Bees.

The North London club have a young squad themselves and a transfer model which is somewhat reliant on uncovering gems and turning them into superstars. Therefore, Frank could be just the right man for Tottenham.

Thomas Frank should bring Bryan Mbeumo to Tottenham

Should Tottenham decide to sack Postecoglou and appoint Frank, one of his first moves as manager should be to sign Mbeumo.

The Cameroonian international has been one of his most impressive players during his time at Brentford, and he looks set to leave the G-Tech Community Stadium this summer.

Arsenal are linked with Mbeumo, however, their North London rivals should be looking to intervene and bring him to N17 instead.

The 25-year-old was really impressive under Frank this season as he netted 20 Premier League goals for the first time in his career.

How much Everton can actually spend this summer with Richarlison and John Stones targeted - TBR Football
Description

Everton will hope to mark their move to Hill Dickinson Stadium with a marquee signing this summer.

David Moyes’ side steadily improved last season to the point where Everton claimed a 13th place finish in the Premier League.

It’s still a far cry from where the Toffees will want to be with time, but Moyes certainly had an impact and The Friedkin Group should have seen enough in order to back his plans moving forward.

With that in mind, Everton are interested in re-signing Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, perhaps as a replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

And on the topic of players returning to the club, John Stones might be tempted by a move back to Everton, a player who has enjoyed so much success at Manchester City.

Kieran Maguire explains how much Everton can spend this summer

Of course, Everton will have plenty of transfer targets in the mill right now, and they won’t all be former players.

But some fans might be somewhat disappointed to hear an update on their potential transfer budget from finance expert Kieran Maguire.

Maguire was reporting for BBC Sport and noted that this summer will still be somewhat marred by the mistakes of former owner Farhad Moshiri.

The journalist was confident that one marquee signing was possible, perhaps someone like Richarlison, but there might not be too many funds left after that.

Maguire said: “One marquee signing is certainly possible, especially with some players out of contract, but the chances of a series of big names is less likely.

“A spend of £50-£100m is the ballpark unless there are exits.”

David Moyes is already making important transfer decisions

Whilst Everton are interested in reinforcements in almost every position this summer, it’s believed that they are prioritising a right-back, a right-winger, a midfielder and a striker.

It’s already been announced that Carlos Alcaraz will be joining the club permanently this month, a player who really impressed in the final weeks of the season.

Otherwise, Everton have also confirmed that Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrom, Orel Mangala and Armando Broja will return to their clubs following their loans.

Everton need to replace Broja in particular even though he didn’t play too many minutes this season.

Tottenham could lose out on ‘outstanding’ manager as Inter Milan look set to replace Simone Inzaghi - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Champions League finalists Inter Milan are keen on appointing Tottenham’s managerial target.

Simone Inzaghi guided his team to the final, beating tournament favourites Barcelona along the way in a thrilling two-legged semi-final.

However, Inter Milan were thrashed 5-0 by PSG in the final on Sunday night, in what was an extremely one-sided final.

The Italian club are now looking to replace Inzaghi and TBR Football understands that they have sights set on an in-demand Premier League manager also linked with Tottenham.

Fulham boss Marco Silva attracting interest from Inter Milan

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Marco Silva is now being considered as a replacement for the Italian at Inter Milan.

Silva turned down a move to Al-Hilal, a club who have been actively searching for a new manager.

Inzaghi now looks set to move to Saudi Arabia to join them, leaving a big vacancy at Inter Milan.

There is interest from Juventus as well as Tottenham, who have been keeping an eye on Silva as a possible replacement for Ange Postecoglou.

However, Spurs will find hiring him a bit more expensive compared to others. TBR Football previously reported that the release clause in Silva’s contract is considerably less for a foreign club than if an English side makes an approach.

Meanwhile, it is said that Fulham are hopeful that the Portuguese will extend his stay with the London side.

Tottenham’s managerial situation remains uncertain

The future of Ange Postecoglou remains uncertain with the club not having decided on the Australian’s future yet.

Tottenham had a dismal season domestically, with the club finishing 17th in the league. Spurs suffered 22 defeats in the Premier League, the most ever by a manager in one season. They were also knocked out of all domestic cups.

A sacking looked certain but Tottenham’s successful European campaign may have saved the manager.

Ange guided the club to their first silverware since 2008, as Tottenham beat Man United in the Europa League final. It was also Spurs’ first European trophy since 1984.

With Ange delivering Tottenham a trophy, it may have made Daniel Levy’s decision to replace him a bit difficult.

If they are to replace Ange, Silva remains firmly on Tottenham’s radar with meetings held between Levy and Silva. However, the chances of Ange staying at Tottenham have increased.

Ange Postecoglou could be about to save Arsenal from repeating their Raheem Sterling mistake

Ange Postecoglou could be about to save Arsenal from repeating their Raheem Sterling mistake - TBR Football
Description

Despite their terrible league campaign, Tottenham Hotspur might still be able to compete with rivals Arsenal in the transfer market this summer.

Ange Postecoglou saved Tottenham’s season by winning the Europa League, in turn securing a place in next season’s Champions League.

Tottenham might still sack Postecoglou, but either way, Spurs will be competing with Arsenal in Europe’s top competition next term.

And despite finishing 17th in the Premier League, Daniel Levy’s side will be able to be ambitious on the transfer front, aiming to prevent another poor league campaign.

That being said, Tottenham are now interested in signing Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich, a winger who is also believed to be on Arsenal’s radar.

Tottenham want to sign Arsenal target Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane has enjoyed a strong season under Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich, he’s seen a significant upturn under the former Burnley manager.

And in addition to Spurs, Arsenal are interested in Sane as well, a player Mikel Arteta knows well from their time working together at Manchester City.

However, Sane might not be the right signing for Arsenal, especially when bearing in mind their late move for Raheem Sterling last summer.

Back in the day, Sane and Sterling were a frightening pairing for Pep Guardiola at Man City, two players who helped deliver more than one Premier League title.

But despite the duo’s success, Guardiola was ultimately prepared to sell both at the right time — players he swiftly replaced despite their quality.

And perhaps Arsenal should have learned a lesson from loaning Sterling from Chelsea — it’s a risk signing 29-year-old wingers.

Arsenal can’t repeat their Raheem Sterling error

As a result, Spurs’ interest in Sane might be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal, even if he were to move to Tottenham and make a strong impact early on.

Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta would be a lot better served investing in either Nico Williams or Jamie Gittens, two wingers who are still at the early stages of their career.

Sane is an incredibly tempting option on a free transfer this summer, and he is showing much better levels at Bayern than Sterling did before he joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea.

But signing wingers in their latter years should be something Arsenal are avoiding, especially given that Leandro Trossard might get a new contract at the Emirates.

Arsenal need to buy a player who proves to the likes of William Saliba and Declan Rice that they are at the right club, one that has the potential to win trophies for the next five years or so.

And although Sane would help immediately, it’s someone like Williams who will help take Arsenal to the next level.

How Cristian Romero plans to react if Tottenham were to sack Ange Postecoglou

How Cristian Romero plans to react if Tottenham were to sack Ange Postecoglou - TBR Football
Description

The futures of both Cristian Romero and Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur remain rather uncertain.

Tottenham are considering whether to sack the Australian manager, however, Postecoglou has asked for more time from Daniel Levy to prove he can still turn the team’s Premier League fortunes around.

The 59-year-old guided Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years as they won the Europa League, but despite winning the silverware, he is still awaiting clarity over his job.

Meanwhile, what is next for vice-captain Cristian Romero also remains up in the air, with the defender being strongly linked with a move to Spain.

Ange Postecoglou and Cristian Romero’s future is linked

Romero will push to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer if they were to sack Ange Postecoglou, according to journalist Ruben Uria.

Equally, should Postecoglou remain in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it is expected that the Argentine international would likely stay for at least another season.

Romero has been linked to Atletico Madrid and it is being reported that he is keen to live in the Spanish capital, working with Diego Simeone.

Uria told ElDesmarque: “The key is who will be the Tottenham manager. If Postecoglou stays, I think Cuti won’t leave. Now, if there’s a change of coach, Cuti will do everything possible to leave.

“He wants to live in Madrid, not London. He wants to play for Atleti and has already spoken several times with Cholo Simeone.

“A meeting is planned between Miguel Angel Gil Marin and Levy to find out if they can sit down and negotiate or if the player will stay in London.”

After the Europa League final, Romero hinted that he wanted to stay at Tottenham and continue with the project that was ongoing in N17, with Postecoglou at the helm.

When will Tottenham decide Ange Postecoglou’s future?

Levy is currently on holiday, as is Postecoglou, and therefore any decision on the manager’s future is not expected to arrive until some time next week.

A recent report suggested Postecoglou’s chances of staying had increased in the last few hours, which suggests Levy’s stance over sacking him was starting to change.

The Spurs chairman needs to consider the reaction of his playing squad if he was to relieve Postecoglou from his duties as manager.

There seems to be a strong bond between the player and manager, which now needs to be built on, rather than another rebuild.

Tottenham hold key advantage in race to sign Leroy Sane due to a specific Daniel Levy connection

Tottenham hold key advantage in race to sign Leroy Sane due to a specific Daniel Levy connection - TBR Football
Description

Leroy Sane has been strongly linked with a move back to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both showing an interest in signing him.

Sane is out of contract with Bayern Munich this summer, although the German champions have been attempting to renew his deal at the Allianz Arena.

As reported by TBR Football, Mikel Arteta has discussed signing Sane for Arsenal, having worked with the winger at Manchester City.

Tottenham have also held talks with Sane as they look to bolster their attacking options after qualifying for the Champions League next season.

The race to sign the 29-year-old is now ongoing, with several parties pushing to offer him a contract, but his agent, Pini Zahavi, already has a specific destination in mind.

Leroy Sane’s agent wants him to join Tottenham

Leroy Sane’s agent, Zahavi, is pushing the German international to sign for Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to CFBayernInsider.

Daniel Levy is close friends with Sane’s agent and the Spurs chairman is believed to be ‘pulling the strings’ to bring the winger to the capital.

Crucially, the Bayern forward’s family live in London, therefore, a move back to England could strongly appeal to him.

The North London club are believed to be in a strong negotiating position to now land the former Man City player.

Sane enjoyed a very successful spell when he last played in the Premier League, as he helped City to win two Premier League titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup.

The big issue at Tottenham right now, though, is that Ange Postecoglou’s future remains uncertain, making new additions rather tricky.

Postecoglou is often pretty good at selling a move to Spurs to interested players, however, it’s unclear how involved he is in this transfer.

Do Tottenham need to sign Leroy Sane?

The only issue with this move right now is that Tottenham are already very well stocked with left-wingers.

Spurs have six different options, all of whom can fill the left wing role and adding Sane means that at least a few might become rather frustrated at the situation.

The Lilywhites are ready to make Mathys Tel’s move permanent with talks over a £33.5m deal taking place, as revealed by TBR Football last week.

Ange Postecoglou update emerges as Tottenham said to have held meetings over ‘amazing’ manager

Ange Postecoglou update emerges as Tottenham said to have held meetings over 'amazing' manager - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have ended the season on the highest possible note, having won the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League.

Ange Postecoglou’s record of winning trophies in his second season continues unabated as he delivered a first trophy in 17 years for Tottenham – and a European one to boot.

Despite having just done what no Spurs manager has been able to do since 2008, Postecoglou’s future remains uncertain.

Now, Gianluca Di Marzio has provided an update regarding Tottenham’s manager situation, in which he spoke about Postecoglou and Fulham’s Marco Silva.

Chances of Ange Postecoglou staying at Tottenham ‘have increased’

Silva has been heavily linked with Tottenham in recent weeks, with TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey confirming Silva is indeed on Spurs’ managerial candidate list.

TBR Football also confirmed that the Silva had turned down a move to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal, which Di Marzio corroborated on his website.

Di Marzio also said Tottenham ‘had also made moves’ over Silva – a manager who Fulham’s hierarchy has called ‘amazing’ – and held meetings.

He then claimed that, in the ‘last few hours, the chances of Postecoglou remaining on the Spurs bench have increased.’

The suggestion is that Daniel Levy may be making a U-turn on Postecoglou’s future amid speculation suggesting he’s looking to part company with the head coach.

What Robbie Keane has urged Daniel Levy to do about Ange Postecoglou

The prospect of sacking a manager immediately after he’s led the club to a major European trophy is not the sort of thing that would go down well with most fanbases.

Tottenham cult hero Robbie Keane is of the same opinion as he urged the club to give Postecoglou more time to build his squad.

“Give him time,” Keane said of Postecoglou on talkSPORT. “The fans have been desperate for this for a long (time) – as you said, 17 years since we won (a trophy).

“Give him time, give him the chance to build again.”

With Tottenham in the Champions League, they’ll have a lot more pulling power in the transfer market, which means Postecoglou could really strengthen his ranks.

Robbie Keane sends clear message to Daniel Levy about Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham future - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou may have led Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years, but questions still remain over his future.

Ange Postecoglou delivered on his claim that he always wins things in his second season at a club when Tottenham beat Manchester United in the Europa League final.

In the space of just over 90 minutes, Postecoglou went from a somewhat ridiculed figure to a manager with a Jose Mourinho-esque aura thanks to Spurs’ efforts in Bilbao.

But despite this, Tottenham are still said to be considering a change of manager due to their poor form in the Premier League – they finished 17th in the table.

Spurs cult hero Robbie Keane has now delivered his verdict on what the Lilywhites should do regarding Postecoglou as he sent a clear message to chairman Daniel Levy.

Robbie Keane tells Tottenham to give Ange Postecoglou time

Keane, speaking on talkSPORT, admitted that “there’s no getting away” from the fact Tottenham had a poor domestic season.

However, the Ferencvaros manager stressed that, at the end of the day, Postecoglou delivered something that had eluded Spurs for close to two decades.

With that in mind, Keane believes Postecoglou has earned himself the right to lead Tottenham into next season at least.

“To be honest with you, it’s been a poor season like Man United for Tottenham, certainly in the league,” Keane began.

“There’s no getting away from that. I think everybody, certainly the managers, admitted that.

“But I tell you what – as someone who’s played for Spurs, and my two kids are Spurs fans, I don’t think anyone cared at the end, because winning the trophy – at the end of the day it’s about winning.

“He’s got a lot of stick, Ange, and to be fair to him, he’s backed it up by his comment that he made about the second season and he put himself under a lot of pressure but he’s done it.

“So I think now – give him time. The fans have been desperate for this for a long (time) – as you said, 17 years since we won – give him time, give him the chance to build again, to build again.”

Keane, who has won the Hungarian league with Ferencvaros, then spoke of just how much damage the loss of key players can cause to a team’s momentum.

“The injuries – I’m a manager now, I know what it’s like when you’re missing two or three key players.

“It can affect the team – especially when you’re missing two big centre-backs, that’s key to your success.”

Who could replace Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham manager

As baffling as it may seem to sack a manager just after he’s delivered a major trophy – and a European one to boot – that’s what Spurs are thinking of doing.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has been told that Brentford remain worried about Tottenham’s interest in Thomas Frank.

Indeed, some within the Spurs hierarchy believe the Bees boss is possibly the ideal figure to take charge at N17.

A host of other names have been assessed by Tottenham as they look for alternatives to Postecoglou.
