TBR Football understands Leeds United have informed Tottenham Hotspur that they want to make their deal for Manor Solomon permanent in the summer.

Solomon has enjoyed a top season in the Championship as he played a key role in helping Leeds to win the division with 100 points.

The Israeli international netted the winning goal against Plymouth Argyle in stoppage time to secure the title for the West Yorkshire club.

The Whites have now started talks to sign the 25-year-old permanently and Tottenham have informed them how much a deal will cost.

Tottenham set Manor Solomon asking price for Leeds United

Tottenham Hotspur want close to £20 million for Manor Solomon, but Leeds United are hoping to get him for closer to £15 million, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

TBR Football understands that Spurs will allow him to leave – as he arrived as a free agent, he will be pure profit on PSR too and with a busy summer ahead, that is something Spurs won’t turn their nose up at.

There is interest from elsewhere, including Everton, where Angus Kinnear and Nick Hammond know him well from their time at Leeds. Everton are also interested in Leeds’ Junior Firpo who is a free agent in the summer.

There are also teams in Europe who would like to explore a deal, with Marseille reportedly showing an interest in Solomon.

However, TBR Football has been told that Solomon’s current preference is to seal a permanent move to Elland Road following his outstanding campaign in the Championship.

Manor Solomon’s superb season for Leeds

Solomon finished the season with 23 goal contributions in the league, with his 12 assists making him the Championship’s joint third highest tally.

The winger also netted ten times in the Championship across 39 matches, which saw him finish as the team’s third top scorer.

Thierry Henry says Tottenham did something in 2019 that made him really upset, ‘I was devastated’

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has never had any love for Tottenham Hotspur.

The iconic Frenchman spent the better part of a decade playing for the Gunners, and he never lost a single North London Derby during his time there.

Henry still loves Arsenal, and because of that, he often aims a few digs at Tottenham.

But, when Spurs actually fare well, Henry, like every other Arsenal fan, feels the pain, and that happened under Mauricio Pochettino in 2019.

What Tottenham did in 2019 that left Thierry Henry ‘devastated’

Tottenham’s best manager in this century has to be Pochettino.

The Argentine made Spurs fans believe that they can compete with the best teams in the country, and they even got close to ending their trophy drought.

The North Londoners were involved in the Premier League title race on a couple of occasions under Pochettino, but his most impressive achievement has to be reaching the Champions League final in 2019.

In the semi-final against Ajax in that campaign, Spurs lost the first game 1-0 and were 2-0 down at half-time in the second leg.

The tie looked like it was over then. But, a stunning hat-trick from Lucas Moura, which included a 96th-minute winner, helped Tottenham reach the final of the competition.

In Ajax’s midfield that night was Frenkie De Jong. It’s bad enough to experience that once in your career, but the Dutchman, sadly, went through it again on Tuesday night.

Barcelona had one foot in the final after coming back from two goals down, but Hansi Flick’s side conceded in the third minute of stoppage time and the ninth minute of extra time to lose the game.

Thierry Henry had some sympathy for De Jong and also revealed how he felt when the midfielder suffered the same fate six years ago.

He said on CBS Sports: “I was thinking about Frenkie De Jong. I think Frenkie De Jong was a part of that Ajax team losing against Tottenham also – that Lucas Moura (hat-trick).

“That’s twice for him. Frenkie De Jong has to see that, has to feel that. We all remember what happened.

“I was devastated that night because of Tottenham going through.”

Tottenham could cause more pain to Thierry Henry

We’re into the final weeks of the season now, and both Arsenal and Tottenham are in with a chance of winning silverware.

Arsenal take on Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final clash on Tuesday night. The Gunners need to overturn their one-goal deficit to book a place in the final.

Tottenham, on the other hand, travel to Norway to take on Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, and unlike their North London rivals, they have a big lead going into that game.

TBR Football understands that Tottenham have opened talks with Mathys Tel’s representatives and are indicating they would like him to stay.

Mathys Tel has enjoyed his time in London, he is settled very well and Spurs have been impressed enough to look ahead to a permanent deal.

The Frenchman’s form has picked up over recent weeks with three goal contributions in his last five Premier League appearances.

The 20-year-old could play a key role in helping the Lilywhites end their hunt for silverware as they prepare to face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League semi-final on Thursday.

Tottenham plan to renegotiate buy option for Mathys Tel

Tottenham Hotspur did include a buy-option for Tel when they agreed terms with Bayern Munich worth around £45 million, but they are hoping to re-negotiate this, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Spurs agreed to pay £50m for Tel in January, only for the deal to fall through, before it was eventually resurrected on new terms.

Now, the North London club will attempt to sign the promising youngster on even more favourable terms by attempting to reduce the £45m fee.

The French youth international has shown much promise but £45m would be a hefty fee for a player who is still quite a raw talent. Reports have suggested that Tottenham want to pay around £30m for Tel.

James Maddison believes Tel has been ‘very good’ since being at Tottenham and claims the North London club should look to make the deal permanent.

Bayern Munich keen to sell Mathys Tel

Bayern Munich are believed to be open to a deal to sell the forward if Tel indicates his willingness to join Tottenham permanently.

Champions League qualification could play a part in convincing Tel to stay long term which could be achieved through winning the Europa League.

Bayern, for their part, are trying to put together a deal for Florian Wirtz and that does mean some sales will be required. Tel is one of those they are looking to move on.

Club think manager Tottenham want to appoint is actually ‘tempted’ to go and join another club

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to appoint a new manager this summer.

Spurs have been under Ange Postecoglou since the summer of 2023. The Australian seemed like a great appointment at the start, but things have not been great over the last 18 months.

That is why Postecoglou is set to leave Tottenham this summer – even if he wins the Europa League.

Daniel Levy and his team have been exploring the managerial market and have considered several names over the last few weeks.

Now, there is a chance that one of their targets could be on his way to another club.

What Crystal Palace are now worried about regarding Tottenham manager target Oliver Glasner

Oliver Glasner has done a fantastic job at Crystal Palace.

The Austrian led the Eagles to a 10th-place finish last season, and although it looks like they will end up slightly lower this time around, they are in with a chance of winning silverware.

Palace are in the final of the FA Cup, and if things go their way, they could win their first major trophy in over three decades.

Glasner’s brilliant work has not gone unnoticed. Multiple clubs appreciate the Palace boss, and he is set to receive some serious interest this summer.

TBR Football exclusively revealed in April that Tottenham had enquired about Glasner with his representatives over his availability this summer.

RB Leipzig want Glasner too, but the Eagles are keen to extend his contract and keep him at the club beyond the end of this season.

However, GiveMeSport now claim that ‘some influential figures at Crystal Palace are worried that Glasner is tempted by the prospect of heading to Leipzig’ this summer.

The German side are on the lookout for a new boss, and they have a genuine interest in Glasner.

Daniel Levy will have to pay big money to land Glasner

Glasner will still have one year left on his contract at Crystal Palace this summer.

The Eagles really appreciate the job he has done for them and are desperate to retain his services despite interest from the likes of Tottenham and Leipzig.

However, there is an option to get the Austrian away from Selhurst Park before the start of next season.

Crystal Palace have put a £17 million price tag on Glasner – if Spurs agree to pay that, they will be allowed to negotiate terms and appoint him as their new boss.

But, whether Levy will be willing to pay so much money for Postecoglou’s successor remains to be seen.

Rio Ferdinand says he never realised how big one Tottenham player was until he met him

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of brilliant players in their squad.

Spurs, collectively, have had a shocking season. They are 16th in the Premier League table and are out of the two domestic cups as well.

The Europa League can still save their campaign, but questions need to be asked about why they have been so poor in the league this term with all the quality players they have.

Rio Ferdinand has watched a lot of Tottenham this season, but he never realised one thing about one of their players until he met him.

Rio Ferdinand shocked by Tottenham star Dominic Solanke’s size

Tottenham signed Dominic Solanke in a £65 million deal from Bournemouth last summer.

The Englishman had an amazing season with the Cherries, and he was linked with multiple clubs during last year’s transfer window.

Tottenham wrapped up the deal to sign Solanke fairly quickly, and the striker has shown flashes of his brilliance since.

The 27-year-old has all the attributes to become a top number nine. He can hold the ball up really well, can link up with the players around him and is clinical more often than not too.

Ferdinand was aware of all of the above before, but what shocked the Manchester United legend when he met him recently was his size.

After greeting Solanke and Chelsea star Tosin Adarabioyo, Ferdinand claimed that he never thought the two players were so big.

He told them in a video on his YouTube channel: “You man are big, you know? I didn’t realise you lot are that big!

“Wow!”

How tall is Dominic Solanke and is he Tottenham’s tallest player?

Solanke definitely looks like a big striker.

The Englishman can go toe-to-toe with any centre-half in the country and is capable of coming out on top in physical battles.

Solanke is 1.86m tall, which is 6 feet 2 inches. That, however, only makes him Spurs’ 13th-tallest player.

Fraser Forster is the tallest, standing at 2.01m, while Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, Kevin Danso, Antonin Kinsky, Alfie Whiteman, Brandon Austin, Destiny Udogie, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall and even Archie Gray are all taller than Solanke, as per Transfermarkt.

For those wondering, Ferdinand is 6 feet 2 inches tall too.

Manor Solomon’s transfer stance as Marseille join Leeds in race for Tottenham winger

Manor Solomon’s transfer stance as Marseille join Leeds in race for Tottenham winger - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Manor Solomon has enjoyed a bright season at Leeds United.

The Tottenham winger registered 10 goals and 12 assists in the Championship to help Leeds return to the Premier League at the second time of asking.

Tottenham are willing to sell Solomon this summer, and Leeds are very much interested in bringing the Israel international to Elland Road permanently.

However, Leeds are now reportedly set to be rivalled in the race for Solomon by French outfit Marseille.

Manor Solomon open to Marseille move but Leeds could have a slight advantage in pursuit of Tottenham ace

Leeds have been put on ‘red alert’ as Marseille are working behind the scenes to try and sign Manor Solomon, according to Team Football.

The report claims Roberto De Zerbi has been impressed by Solomon’s playing style, vision, ability to play on both flanks, and defensive work.

De Zerbi is looking for a replacement for Luis Henrique, who appears Inter Milan-bound, and Solomon is seen as ideal for his system, added the report.

Worryingly for Leeds, Marseille – who sit second in Ligue 1 – are apparently in ‘concrete discussions’ with Solomon’s entourage.

The outlet quoted a source from Solomon’s entourage as saying: “Yes, a big club from the south of France has made inquiries.”

Furthermore, the player is apparently open to offers outside the Premier League.

However, one positive for the Whites is that Solomon ‘prefers the Premier League’, as per the report.

In terms of Solomon’s price tag, Spurs are said to value him at around £17million, or £14.5million.

It has also been reported that Everton are seriously interested in signing Solomon this summer.

Tottenham and Leeds have had a good working relationship in recent years, with Archie Gray making the move from Yorkshire to North London just last year.

Spurs are now looking at another Leeds talent – TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey revealed in March that Harry Gray is in Tottenham’s sights.

However, Tottenham’s interest in Archie Gray’s brother is matched by bitter rivals Arsenal, along with Newcastle United.

With that in mind, Spurs should try all they can to sell Solomon to Leeds rather than Marseille.

This could go on to help Tottenham in their efforts to sign Gray further down the line.

Tottenham will be relieved by Real Madrid’s latest transfer decision

Tottenham will be relieved by Real Madrid’s latest transfer decision - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur will be delighted to hear the latest transfer news coming out of Real Madrid, as it will have a knock-on effect on their own transfer plans.

Real Madrid had been closely looking at one of their top talents, but it appears as though they have now moved on from the Spurs star.

Pedro Porro was Real Madrid’s option B if Trent Alexander-Arnold deal collapsed

Pedro Porro was Real Madrid’s option B if they failed to get the deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold over the line, according to Diario AS.

Alexander-Arnold has agreed to join Madrid and therefore, Spurs can breathe a sigh of relief that Los Blancos will not be coming after Porro.

Madrid have been tracking Porro this season, but now they have managed to land their number one right-back target. Porro has also been linked with Man City.

Tottenham were looking to offer Porro a new deal to fend off Madrid’s interest, however, that no longer needs to be the case. Spurs may still be keen to get him tied down to a new contract at some stage, though with his current one running until 2028.

Earlier this season, Porro discussed Madrid’s interest, admitting that he was flattered to be linked with the 15-time European champions.

Liverpool target Jeremie Frimpong was option C should either of those two deals have failed to get done, the Dutch defender is now keen to join the Reds.

Pedro Porro remains such a key player for Tottenham

Porro’s defensive game has been questioned at times throughout his career in North London, but going forward, there aren’t many better full-backs than the 25-year-old.

The Spanish international has 25 goal contributions since signing for Spurs back in January 2023, scoring ten and assisting 20.

His assist for James Maddison’s goal against Bodo/Glimt just typifies exactly why the Lilywhites would struggle to replace him if they were to lose him.

Jermaine Jenas says £25m Tottenham player has lost all of his confidence now

Jermaine Jenas says £25m Tottenham player has lost all of his confidence now - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have had a truly terrible season, and that continued at the weekend as they dropped more points against West Ham.

Ange Postecoglou is likely to be sacked by Spurs, and the sooner this season is over, the better.

Tottenham will really want to put this term behind them, as will a number of Spurs’ players.

Indeed, a number of Spurs players have had truly dreadful campaigns.

Heung-Min Son has been criticised this season, while Cristian Romero hasn’t been great recently either.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Jermaine Jenas has been discussing Yves Bissouma’s performances this season, and he says the midfielder has lost all of his confidence at Tottenham this term.

Yves Bissouma has lost his confidence

Jenas spoke about Bissouma and how he’s performed this season.

The pundit reckons the £25m man has lost his confidence this season, noting that he only plays backwards passes at the moment.

“Bissouma, he has the ability to do it, but for some reason, he’s lost all of his confidence on the ball and he only plays backwards,” Jenas said.

“I think the start of his career at Tottenham was good, then he had a couple of sendings off, and he never came back from those sendings off, really silly ones. Then he’s had off the pitch incidents that haven’t gone down well at the club.

Yves Bissouma stats compared to last season

Bissouma has been off the boil this season, as Jenas says, and the stats do reflect that.

Bissouma has hardly been the most progressive passer throughout his career, but the stats do show he’s taking fewer risks this season, playing fewer key passes and attempted less long balls too.

For one reason or another, Bissouma isn’t playing with the freedom he once was at Tottenham.

Bissouma has been linked with a move away from Spurs in recent times, and, at this point, that may be best for all parties.

The Mali international was touted as an exciting signing when he first arrived in north London, but, sadly, things just haven’t worked out for the former Brighton man at Spurs.

Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke gives his honest opinion on how good Mikey Moore is after playing with this season

Dominic Solanke says Tottenham have a youngster who has a really 'bright future' - TBR Football
Description

Dominic Solanke has played with a whole host of gifted youngsters during his career and he can add Mikey Moore’s name to that long list.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker knows more than most what a young talent looks like — having been a part of Chelsea’s famed youth side, which featured wonderkids like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ola Aina and Tammy Abraham to name a few.

As a result, Solanke’s verdict on Mikey Moore is worth its weight in gold.

The 17-year-old has his fair share of admirers, with Yaya Toure lauding Moore’s talent when asked to pick the best young players from Tottenham’s academy after having spent time working in their youth ranks.

Even Declan Rice lauded Tottenham starlet Moore for being a first-team player at such a young age this campaign.

Tottenham star Dominic Solanke tips Mikey Moore for a “bright future”

Dominic Solanke was asked to give his view on Moore by Rio Ferdinand on his official YouTube channel.

Solanke was full of praise for Moore, who James Maddison likened to Neymar earlier this season.

The Englishman said: “Other than the obvious two, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall that have been playing quite a bit this season, they have huge careers ahead of them, they’ve been really good this season, someone that hasn’t played as much, Mikey Moore.”

“He’s a really talented boy, very direct and a good winger so I think he’s got a bright future as well.”

What Jermain Defoe said about Mikey Moore after working with him

Even Harry Redknapp claimed Moore should start for Tottenham as in the former Lilywhites boss’ eyes, the teenager looks like a “real player.”

While Glenn Hoddle has lauded Moore’s directness out wide as the youngster loves taking his man on, as apart from Solanke, high-profiles names within the game feel he is the real deal.

Jermain Defoe reckons Moore is “special” and his opinion certainly matters the most as he worked with him in Tottenham’s youth set-up.

Owen Hargreaves revealed in January: “Look at Mikey Moore, he’s coming on. Jermain Defoe told me about him two years ago, he said ‘Owen, this kid is special.’

“So it’s great to get him on and get some reps.”

Hargreaves concluded: “Sometimes, these young kids have no fear and play with courage when other players feel the pressure. He’s a terrific player, he’s going to be a star.”

Fabrizo Romano shares what Xabi Alonso has decided after claims Tottenham want him to replace Ange Postecoglou

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to appoint a new manager this summer.

Ange Postecoglou has been at the helm at Spurs since the start of 2023. He started off brilliantly and became a fan favourite, but the last 18 months have not gone to plan.

Spurs blew their opportunity to finish in the top four last season when it was in their hands. In this campaign, they are stuck in the bottom half of the table.

That is the reason why Postecoglou is expected to leave Tottenham this summer, and Daniel Levy is on the lookout for a new manager.

One of the names linked with the Spurs boss is Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso.

Tottenham have been linked with several managers ahead of the summer.

The North Londoners moved away from big names after what happened with Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. But, there could be a change in stance again.,

Reports have claimed that Tottenham are considering Jurgen Klopp, Xabi Alonso and Carlo Ancelotti to replace Postecoglou this summer.

Klopp ruled out managing another English club before he even left Liverpool, while Ancelotti looks like he is going to become Brazil’s boss.

That leaves Alonso, but unfortunately for Tottenham, he has decided to join another club – Real Madrid.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claimed on the Here We Go Podcast: “Xabi Alonso remains the favourite (to replace Ancelotti). Obviously, Real Madrid fans need to be patient with this one, because every day they probably expect a breakthrough in talks.

“But, what I want to communicate is that there will be no problem between Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid on the contract, on the agreement. Xabi Alonso wants to go to Real Madrid, and Real Madrid see Xabi Alonso as the perfect candidate for the job.

“Then, there is an exit process. This is for Ancelotti in Brazil, but it’s also for Real Madrid. So, it’s on the club’s side to prepare the final chapters of this story, to fight for La Liga till the end, and then to enter into the conversations with Xabi Alonso.

“But, my understanding is that if Real Madrid will proceed, as we expect, for Xabi as new coach, there will be no problem with Xabi Alonso, with his agent, on the contract and all the details, because Xabi wants the job.”

Tottenham should go for Xabi Alonso’s old teammate

Alonso was never a realistic target for Tottenham.

It was always going to be difficult to convince the 43-year-old – not just to leave Bayer Leverkusen for Spurs but also to reject Real Madrid.

Now, Spurs will have to look elsewhere, and we think they should make a move for Alonso’s former Spain teammate, Xavi Hernandez.

The Spaniard has been without a job since leaving Barcelona, and he showed at the Camp Nou that he is capable of producing the goods.

It won’t be easy to land Xavi either, but he is a far more realistic manager to target than the likes of Alonso, Klopp and Ancelotti this summer.
