Tottenham transfer news: Spurs 'set sights' on Brazilian defender - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly showing keen interest in signing Juventus defender Gleison Bremer in the winter transfer window.

The 28-year-old defender joined Juventus from Torino in the summer of 2022 and has made 96 appearances for the Old Lady, scoring eight goals.

Bremer has struggled with ACL injuries last season and has managed only four appearances in Serie A so far, as he is currently out injured.

The Brazilian defender is reportedly hoping to return in mid-December, and Spurs could be interested in signing him.

Spurs eye move for Bremer?

According to a report from Spain, the north London club see the defender as a top-level option to bolster the backline.

The report claims that Spurs see him as a high-impact signing, and the deal is already beginning to take shape.

Thomas Frank already has the likes of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Kevin Danso as major options, but wants the Brazilian defender to add more competition.

With Spurs also participating in the Champions League, Frank reportedly wants to rotate the squad effectively, and Bremer, with his experience, looks an ideal fit.

It has been suggested that Bremer's attributes align with the manager's philosophy, and Spurs believe his addition could bring immediate stability.

Do Spurs need a new centre-back?

Spurs are currently missing Radu Dragusin, who has not played a single game this season, as he is still nursing a knee injury.

The 23-year-old is expected to return to first-team action around mid-December, and he can provide adequate depth at the back for the Tottenham manager.

Frank can also use Ben Davies at centre-back, and his wealth of experience could be put to good use.

Spurs have won just once in their last six games in all competitions, and after heavy defeats against Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, Frank has come under a lot of pressure.

Newcastle vs. Tottenham: How to watch, date, time, live stream and TV channel for Premier League clash - Sports Mole
Description

With little time to dwell on contrasting weekend results, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur square off in a midweek Premier League contest.

Eddie Howe's men ran out convincing 4-1 winners at Everton in gameweek 13, a couple of hours before the Lilywhites were humbled at home by Fulham in a historic 2-1 loss.

Here, Sports Mole provides all the information you need to know about to how to tune into the game.

What time does Newcastle vs. Tottenham kick off?

Newcastle vs. Tottenham will kick off at 8.15pm UK time on Tuesday, December 2.

Two other Premier League games will begin just before; Fulham vs. Manchester City and Bournemouth vs. Everton are both 7.30pm kickoffs.

Where is Newcastle vs. Tottenham being played?

Newcastle are hosting Spurs at St James' Park, where the Magpies have already beaten the Lilywhites 2-0 in this year's EFL Cup.

That fourth-round win marked Newcastle's fourth straight home victory against Spurs, who last avoided defeat at St James' Park in October 2021, prevailing 3-2 against a Steve Bruce-led team.

How to watch Newcastle vs. Tottenham in the UK

TV channels

Newcastle's clash with Spurs will be shown on Sky Sports Premier League, as Sky Sports Main Event is broadcasting Fulham's showdown with Man City.

Sky Sports Premier League is channel number 402 for Sky customers, 512 for Virgin Media subscribers and 420 on EE TV.

Online streaming

The Sky Go and Sky Sports mobile app will offer live-streaming of the match for Sky subscribers; alternatively, fans can catch the action on NOW TV.

A day pass for NOW TV costs £14.99, while a monthly subscription is priced at £34.99.

Highlights

The Sky Sports website and app will offer highlights of the game, as will the Sky Sports Premier League, Tottenham and Newcastle YouTube channels.

The broadcaster will also post the best bits on their official X account (@SkySportsPL) as and when they happen, but unfortunately, there is no Match of the Day on Tuesday evening.

What is at stake for Newcastle and Tottenham?

If things go incredibly pear-shaped for Tottenham - potentially the manager's future.

Thomas Frank has now presided over three straight losses and five from Spurs' last seven after Saturday's reverse to Fulham, where Tottenham conceded two goals in a Premier League home game in just five minutes and 43 seconds.

That game marked the earliest that the Lilywhites has shipped two home goals in a Premier League home match, and talk of a potential managerial change is now intensifying for the Europa League winners.

Frank's opposite number Howe is not under such scrutiny at Newcastle, who can leapfrog their foes in the Premier League table with victory on home soil; the 11th-placed Magpies only trail 10th-placed Spurs on goal difference.

Newcastle are also bidding to extend their terrific head-to-head record against Tottenham, having won each of the last four games between the two sides since a 4-1 away loss in December 2023.

Tottenham 1-2 Fulham: Highlights, man of the match, stats as sorry Spurs set unwanted club record in historic defeat - Sports Mole
Description

A sorry Tottenham Hotspur side set an unwanted club Premier League record as Fulham's six-minute surge propelled the Cottagers to a 2-1 London derby win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Saturday night's showdown pitted the second worst-performing home team against the worst-performing away side in the 2025-26 Premier League, but the Cottagers defied their struggles on their travels to make unwanted history for Spurs.

Opening the scoring after just four minutes through Kenny Tete's deflected strike before Harry Wilson capitalised on a Guglielmo Vicario blunder, Spurs conceded two goals in a Premier League home game earlier than ever before - at five minutes and 43 seconds.

Thomas Frank's men put in aimless cross after aimless cross in a futile attempt to claw back the deficit before the half-time whistle, which was met with boos by the disgruntled Lilywhites faithful.

The hosts came out with renewed vigour in the second half, though, and Mohammed Kudus's venomous volley on the stroke of the hour mark gave rise to a tremendous comeback, but it was a false dawn.

Tenth-placed Tottenham only remain in the top half of the Premier League table on goal difference, and the Lilywhites now sit just one point clear of Fulham in 15th spot after the Cottagers' first away win of the top-flight season.

SPORTS MOLE'S VERDICT

While the Big Six sack talk might be centred around Arne Slot right now, Frank could very well be fearing for his own position after a third successive defeat in all tournaments, and a fifth from Spurs' last seven matches.

The game was over as a contest inside just six minutes, thanks in no small part to Vicario's disaster of course, but Spurs defensively were all over the shop regardless and were fortunate to only go into half time 2-0 down.

It took an astounding last-ditch challenge from Micky van de Ven to deny Samuel Chukwueze a certain third for the Cottagers, who got in behind a disjointed Tottenham rearguard far too easily on far too many occasions.

A second-half revival was meaningless due to their lack of attacking ruthlessness, and Frank now has serious tactical and motivational questions to answer after another harrowing home defeat, one that leaves them closer to the relegation zone than leaders Arsenal points-wise.

Fulham's ranking may not offer much comfort either, but after a belated first away win of the campaign, Marco Silva's well-drilled side ought to kick on in pursuit of a top-half place from here.

TOTTENHAM vs. FULHAM HIGHLIGHTS

Kenny Tete goal vs. Tottenham (4th min, Tottenham 0-1 Fulham)

And Silva's attacking alteration pays off straight away.

Chukwueze jinks his way in from the left wing and seems to get his pass across the box wrong, but it rolls all the way through to Tete in plenty of space.

The Dutchman lines up a low drive, which is heading straight for Vicario, but a deflection off of Destiny Udogie's leg takes it away from the helpless Italian.

Harry Wilson goal vs. Tottenham (6th min, Tottenham 0-2 Fulham)

Catastrophic.

Vicario just has to belt the ball clear or put it out for a throw-in after beating Raul Jimenez to a long pass, but he tries to hold up play close to the byline before a weak clearance on the turn.

Fulham immediately win possession back on the right wing, and with Vicario's goal exposed, Wilson bends in a magnificent curling strike to immediately double the visitors' lead!

Mohammed Kudus goal vs. Fulham (59th min, Tottenham 1-2 Fulham)

Tottenham needed a moment of magic, and the ever-exciting Kudus is the man to provide it!

Wilson's clearance from a corner only travels as far as Lucas Bergvall, who plays a brilliant ball in behind for Kudus, being played onside by Sander Berge.

The Ghanaian takes the ball down in the right-hand side of the box and unleashes a vicious left-footed volley, which flies into the roof of the net at Bernd Leno's near post.

MAN OF THE MATCH - JOACHIM ANDERSEN

Tonight was Danish disaster for Frank but Danish delight for Fulham rock Joachim Andersen, who was always in the right place at the right time to repel Spurs' mostly futile attacks.

The former Crystal Palace man made a monumental 13 clearances, won six of his seven duels - four in the air and two on the ground - as well as drawing two fouls to help the victors slow the game down.

TOTTENHAM VS. FULHAM MATCH STATS

Possession: Tottenham 63%-37% Fulham

Shots: Tottenham 14-7 Fulham

Shots on target: Tottenham 2-3 Fulham

Corners: Tottenham 8-2 Fulham

Fouls: Tottenham 11-7 Fulham

BEST STATS

WHAT NEXT?

Midweek Premier League action takes centre stage for both sides, as Tottenham Hotspur travel to frequent tormentors Newcastle United on Tuesday, the same evening that Fulham host Manchester City.

Spurs then have another London derby on the menu against Brentford next weekend, as do the Cottagers, who welcome Crystal Palace to Selhurst Park next Sunday afternoon.

Fulham injury news: Marco Silva delivers encouraging Antonee Robinson update ahead of Tottenham clash - Sports Mole
Description

Fulham boss Marco Silva has provided an encouraging update on Antonee Robinson’s recovery, although he was unable to deliver an estimated recovery date.

Robinson returned to action in August after undergoing knee surgery in the summer, but he has been out since the start of October following an injury setback.

The USA international has missed the last six matches since being an unused substitute for Fulham’s defeat to Bournemouth on October 3.

Robinson is still not ready to return to action, but Silva was able to offer a positive update ahead of Saturday’s Premier League home meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

Silva provides Robinson injury update

"Not yet, but he is getting better,” Silva said when asked whether their is a timeframe for Robinson’s return in Thursday’s pre-match conference.

"He is getting good feelings but is doing individual work, nice to see him on the pitch.

"He is getting better and more confident. Not just about his knees but his mindset. Soon we can have more news, but right now we have no timescale."

In Robinson’s absence, Ryan Sessegnon is expected to retain his place at left-back for Saturday’s game against his former club.

When could Robinson make his injury comeback?

While Silva was unable to offer a timescale, The Athletic are reporting that Robinson could be back on the pitch within the next three to four weeks.

The report states that the USA international is now 'pain-free' following his injury nightmare, which had created fears that he could miss next year's World Cup.

There is a suggestion that the EFL Cup quarter-final against Newcastle on December 17 could be a possible return date if Robinson keeps progressing his his recovery.

However, that date may be on the ambitious side, with Fulham keen to exercise caution with their first-choice left-back.

Spurs news: Gus Poyet tells Lucas Bergvall how to reach next level after "fearless" PSG performance

Spurs news: Gus Poyet tells Lucas Bergvall how to reach next level after "fearless" PSG performance - Sports Mole
Description

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gus Poyet has exclusively told Sports Mole how Lucas Bergvall can reach the next level after a stellar performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Spurs suffered their second straight loss - and fourth defeat from six in all tournaments - at the home of the European champions on Wednesday evening, succumbing to a 5-3 reverse at the Parc des Princes in the league phase.

However, the individual contributions of Bergvall - making his first start in nearly four weeks after suffering a head injury against London rivals Chelsea on November 1 - did not go unnoticed in the French capital.

The 19-year-old played a neat backheel to Archie Gray in the build-up to Richarlison's opening goal, and he also won both of his aerial duels while making one successful dribble in the eight-goal thriller.

Now, Poyet - who netted 23 goals in 98 appearances for Spurs from 2001 to 2004 - has urged the 2006-born talent to increase his goals and assists tally to take the next step in his Tottenham career.

Gus Poyet outlines how 'fearless' Lucas Bergvall can reach next Tottenham level

“I have been super impressed by Bergvall," Poyet told Sports Mole. "A really talented young player, he has a great engine, He is a clever player and is working really hard at his game.

“It’s not been easy at Spurs, but he has never not looked alive on the pitch. He always wants to get on the ball and play forward.

“He plays with no fear which is also great. Like any player going forward, he can improve by scoring goals and making more assists. This is his next step for sure.”

Bergvall has only managed two goals and seven assists in 61 appearances for Spurs since making the move from Djurgarden in the summer of 2014, including one strike and three helpers from 16 matches in the 2025-26 season.

However, only 34 of Bergvall's 61 matches for the Europa League winners so far have come from the first whistle, amid intense competition for midfield places from Joao Palhinha, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, Pape Sarr and Gray.

How Lucas Bergvall rated in Spurs' loss to PSG

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank labelled Bergvall's performance "positive" in the aftermath of Wednesday's loss, a sentiment that was echoed by national media in attendance at the game.

Respected Tottenham journalist Alasdair Gold awarded Bergvall an 8/10 for football.london and urged Frank to bring the teenager into the first XI in Spurs' upcoming matches, writing: "He was fearless from the first whistle.

"He played a couple of flicked backheels into Gray's runs and the second one led to the Richarlison opener. Like Gray, he came off with 15 minutes to go and he will have gained plenty of experience from this night. He just has to start matches from now on."

Bergvall has been tipped to make the starting lineup in Tottenham's Premier League London derby clash with Fulham on Saturday evening, where the Lilywhites will aim to improve on an underwhelming ninth-placed ranking in the top-flight table, but victory could take them level with fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Arsenal can ruin Chelsea, Tottenham transfer plans after 'joining race' for £80m striker

Arsenal can ruin Chelsea, Tottenham transfer plans after 'joining race' for £80m striker - Sports Mole
Description

Arsenal have reportedly joined the race for Porto and Spain youth striker Samu Aghehowa.

The 21-year-old is also supposedly of interest to fellow London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea ahead of the 2026 transfer windows.

Samu has made an exceptional start to the 2025-26 campaign for Porto, who are competing on the Europa League stage this term.

The attacker has netted six goals and provided one assist across 10 Primeira Liga matches for the giants of Portugal.

Since making the permanent switch from Atletico Madrid during the summer of 2024, Samu has scored 36 goals in just 60 appearances.

Arsenal 'join' Chelsea, Tottenham in Samu hunt?

According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are in the market for another top-class striker following the summer arrival of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.

The report states that the Gunners have joined the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham in the race for Porto man Samu.

It is understood that the 21-year-old has a release clause worth £88m written into his current contract, although the Portuguese side would be willing to accept an offer of £79m.

It is believed that the Premier League challengers are on the hunt for a new striker to replace Gabriel Jesus, who is expected to leave next year.

Newcastle United are supposed admirers of Samu, however Eddie Howe's side have cooled their interest following the summer signings of Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade.

Stockpiling top talent

Before this season, the narrative around Arsenal was that they required a world-class central striker to tip them over the edge and to major titles.

With Gyokeres now in the building, it appears that the Gunners are not halting their pursuit of elite attackers, especially with the futures of Jesus and Kai Havertz uncertain.

At just 21 years of age and already prolific in the Portuguese league, Samu could be a star of the Emirates stage for years to come.

Fulham lineup vs. Tottenham: Predicted XI for Premier League London derby as Marco Silva receives midfield boost

Fulham lineup vs. Tottenham: Predicted XI for Premier League London derby as Marco Silva receives midfield boost - Sports Mole
Description

Fulham head coach Marco Silva will be boosted by the return of a familiar face for Saturday's Premier League London derby with Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Cottagers eked out a 1-0 victory over Sunderland last weekend without the services of yellow-card magnet Sasa Lukic, who was serving a one-game ban for accumulated bookings, but the Serbian is eligible to return this weekend.

With Lukic back, Silva's only two concerns for this weekend are Rodrigo Muniz - out until February with a thigh injury - and Antonee Robinson, a major doubt with a knee problem.

Lukic should reprise his regular midfield partnership with Sander Berge in North London, in a move that would push Alex Iwobi further forward, almost certainly at the expense of Josh King.

Silva will surely also be tempted to throw Samuel Chukwueze into the starting lineup after the winger's dazzling display off the bench against Sunderland, where he created five chances - two of them big chances - and set up Raul Jimenez's winner.

Chukwueze could displace Kevin in the visitors' frontline, as Harry Wilson holds his spot on the right in support of Jimenez, who has failed to score or assist in any of his last six Premier League games against Spurs.

With Robinson likely to miss out, Ryan Sessegnon will start at left-back at his old home, where ex-Arsenal man Bernd Leno can expect a particularly hostile reception.

Fulham possible starting lineup:

Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukic; Wilson, Iwobi, Chukwueze; Jimenez

Tottenham lineup vs. Fulham: Predicted XI for Premier League London derby as Cristian Romero replacement decided

Tottenham lineup vs. Fulham: Predicted XI for Premier League London derby as Cristian Romero replacement decided - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank must find solutions to Cristian Romero's absence for Saturday's Premier League London derby with Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Argentine defender was cautioned for the fifth time in the top-flight campaign in last weekend's 4-1 loss to Arsenal and will therefore serve a one-match suspension during the showdown with the Cottagers.

Romero will be one of five guaranteed absentees for the Lilywhites alongside Dejan Kulusevski (knee), James Maddison (ACL), Dominic Solanke (ankle) and Yves Bissouma (ankle), while Kota Takai (thigh) and Radu Dragusin (ACL) are uncertain for the derby.

The latter two are both like-for-like replacements for Romero, but a fully-fit Kevin Danso can be pencilled in alongside Micky van de Ven in a back four for the Europa League winners, who may also have Destiny Udogie back in the XI too.

Joao Palhinha can expect to return from the first whistle too, potentially in place of Rodrigo Bentancur after Lucas Bergvall put in an eye-catching display in Wednesday's 5-3 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons were only second-half substitutes in that eight-goal thriller, but the need for fresh legs should see both attackers return to the starting lineup this time around.

However, neither Richarlison nor Randal Kolo Muani - who scored three goals between them at the Parc des Princes - should be in danger of losing their starting spots.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup:

Vicario; Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Udogie; Palhinha, Bergvall; Kudus, Simons, Richarlison; Kolo Muani

Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham

Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham - prediction, team news, lineups - Sports Mole
Description

At risk of a torturous third straight defeat in all competitions, a vulnerable Tottenham Hotspur host an inconsistent Fulham in Saturday night's Premier League London derby.

The Lilywhites were on the wrong end of an eight-goal extravaganza with Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, whereas the Cottagers came out on the right side of a 1-0 scoreline against Sunderland last weekend.

Match preview

Shipping goal after goal since the international break came to an end, Tottenham have conceded once every 20 minutes on average over their last two games of football, during which Arsenal and PSG have run riot against the leaky Europa League holders.

Thomas Frank's men did little wrong on the attacking front at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening, but they were outgunned by a Vitinha-inspired PSG side, as the Portuguese midfielder's hat-trick propelled the Champions League winners to a tremendous 5-3 victory.

Spurs' showing in the French capital was still a vast improvement on their previous Premier League affair - the 4-1 North London derby humbling at the hands of Arsenal - but four losses and just one win from their last six games paints a bleak picture indeed.

However, the ninth-placed hosts are only three points adrift of the top four in the Premier League table, and for all of the justified concerns about their build-up play - or lack of - 10 goals in their last four matches is nothing to be scoffed at.

Tottenham continue to fall flat in front of their own fans, though, as the Lilywhites have the second-worst home record in the 2025-26 Premier League season with just five points from six games on their own patch - only basement team Wolverhampton Wanderers (1) have performed worse on familiar territory.

Wolves are the sole side with a lower home points total than Tottenham, but the Old Gold are coincidentally the only team with a worse away record than Fulham, who head across the capital still waiting for their first road success of the season.

Five of the Cottagers' six Premier League away games in 2025-26 have ended in defeat - the one partially pleasing result being a 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening weekend - but home comforts are saving Marco Silva's bacon.

Fulham left it late to put another dent in Sunderland's European aspirations last week, triumphing in the dying embers courtesy of a Raul Jimenez toe-poke, which lifted the 15th-placed Cottagers three points above the bottom three.

The one-goal beating of the Black Cats continued a scoring trend for Silva's side; four of the visitors' last five Premier League matches has seen just one team find the back of the net, including each of their last three in the top flight.

Both teams did score in the last Spurs vs. Fulham game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - a 1-1 draw in December 2024 - but the Cottagers then triumphed 2-0 on home soil in March to extend their unbeaten run against their London rivals to three Premier League games.

Team News

If Spurs' derby drubbing at the hands of Arsenal was not already crushing enough, the Lilywhites have now lost Cristian Romero to suspension after the Argentine collected his fifth yellow card of the season at the Emirates.

One of Romero's potential replacements - Radu Dragusin - could return to the squad this weekend after an ACL problem, but the Romanian is in no position to start, so Kevin Danso should partner Micky van de Ven in the backline.

Dejan Kulusevski (knee), James Maddison (ACL), Dominic Solanke (ankle) and Yves Bissouma (ankle) are also absent, but Kota Takai is also in with a chance of making the matchday squad for the first time following thigh and foot problems.

As Spurs lose an integral cog to suspension, Fulham welcome one back, as Sasa Lukic is eligible for selection again after serving his own yellow-card suspension in the beating of Sunderland.

Expect Alex Iwobi to shift further forward with Lukic back in the side - likely at Josh King's expense - while Samuel Chukwueze warrants a start after a super-sub display in gameweek 12, claiming the assist for Jimenez's winner.

Antonee Robinson's knee injury is likely to render him unavailable again, while Rodrigo Muniz is out until February with a thigh problem.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup:

Vicario; Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Udogie; Palhinha, Bergvall; Kudus, Simons, Richarlison; Kolo Muani

Fulham possible starting lineup:

Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukic; Wilson, Iwobi, Chukwueze; Jimenez

We say: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Fulham

A terrible home team taking on an atrocious away team makes for a fascinating watch this weekend, when Fulham will surely capitalise on Spurs' rearguard weaknesses at least once.

The Lilywhites are also battling continental fatigue as well as their abysmal record at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and we can envisage Silva's refreshed men claiming a point from this all-capital clash.

However, the Cottagers are still searching for their first road win of the season, having taken just one point from their six away league games.
