Frank's Tottenham takes shape as Spurs 'set to appoint' - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank will soon welcome ex-Liverpool goalkeeping coach Fabian Otte to North London, according to a report.

When Frank was appointed Ange Postecoglou's successor at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this summer, the former Brentford boss brought a few of his trusted lieutenants with him.

Frank has been joined at Spurs by right-hand man Justin Cochrane, while assistant coach Chris Haslam and analyst Joe Newton also left the Bees to join the Europa League winners.

In addition, Tottenham poached Andreas Georgson from Manchester United, while Rob Burch has stayed on as goalkeeping coach, having arrived alongside Postecoglou in the summer of 2023.

However, BBC Sport now claims that the Champions League-bound Lilywhites will also soon welcome Otte, who left Liverpool a matter of days ago but has been 'immediately snapped up' by Spurs.

Who is Tottenham-bound goalkeeper coach Otte?

Thirty-four-year-old Otte's playing career was an incredibly modest one, as the German represented several lower-division clubs in several leagues before hanging up his boots in 2018.

Otte played in England, Germany, the Netherlands, USA and New Zealand, most notably representing Northern Premier League Premier Division side Blyth Spartans for one season between 2015 and 2016.

However, the 1990-born shot-stopper quickly rose through the goalkeeping coaching ranks and got his first big backroom break in 2020, when he joined Sean Dyche's team at Burnley.

Otte spent just one year at Turf Moor before moving on to Borussia Monchengladbach, working under Gerardo Seoane, Daniel Farke and Adi Hutter during a three-season stint with the Bundesliga giants.

In the 2023-24 season, Otte juggled his Monchengladbach commitments with a role at the USA national team, prior to moving to Liverpool to be part of Slot's team in the summer of 2024.

Working with the likes of Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher, Otte celebrated Liverpool's Premier League triumph as part of the Reds' backroom staff, but he departed alongside Claudio Taffarel last week.

Pep praise does the trick as Spurs 'in talks' to extend - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are discussing a new contract with 22-year-old goalkeeper Josh Keeley, according to a report.

The 6ft 3in shot-stopper has returned to Hotspur Way following a successful loan spell with Leyton Orient in the 2024-25 campaign, helping the League One club reach the playoff final.

Leyton Orient's bid for Championship promotion ended in a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Charlton Athletic at Wembley, but Keeley nevertheless earned plenty of plaudits throughout the campaign, including from Pep Guardiola.

Keeley guarded the posts in Orient's narrow 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup in February, where he made seven saves and was hailed as "really, really good" by the Citizens head coach.

In total, the 22-year-old registered 16 clean sheets in 45 appearances for the O's, form that earned him his first call-up to the senior Republic of Ireland squad for June's friendly draws with Senegal and Luxembourg.

Tottenham in 'ongoing talks' to extend Keeley contract

Keeley is technically still a part of Tottenham's Under-21 squad, though, and he is yet to make his senior debut for the Lilywhites, who have him under contract until the summer of 2027.

Nevertheless, football.london reports that Keeley's progression over the past 12 months has not gone unnoticed by the powers-that-be, who are now in ongoing talks with his camp to extend his contract further.

Keeley's renewal is not expected to precede a breakthrough season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, though - instead, he is likely to go out on loan for a third time.

The Irishman previously turned out for Barnet in the National League in the second half of the 2023-24 season before his strong spell at Leyton Orient, and he has reportedly caught the eye of a number of teams in the Championship and League One.

Keeley joined Tottenham on a free transfer from Irish outfit St Patrick's Athletic in the summer of 2022 and has played 32 times for the club's Under-21 side, helping them win the 2023-24 Premier League 2 trophy.

Tottenham released Fraser Forster and Alfie Whiteman from their goalkeeping ranks this summer, but Keeley's path to the first team is currently blocked by Guglielmo Vicario, Antonin Kinsky and Brandon Austin.

Which other new contracts are Tottenham working on?

While Spurs are under no immediate pressure to tie Keeley down to fresh terms, they are keen to reflect his improvement with a more appropriate deal, and the same goes for teenage talent Mikey Moore.

The 17-year-old attacker celebrates his 18th birthday next month and is believed to be in talks to extend his contract, which also runs out in just under two years' time.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have six players who are in the final year of their contracts, including Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, but he is also said to be in line for a renewal.

Tottenham 'make decision' on second Mohammed Kudus bid after £50m West Ham rejection

Spurred on: Tottenham 'make decision' on second Kudus bid - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly plan to go back in with a new bid for West Ham United's Mohammed Kudus this week after failing with a first offer for the Ghana international.

The Lilywhites are said to have failed with a first offer of £50m for the Ajax man, but there is an expectation that a deal can be struck for the right price this summer.

Kudus is understood to be pushing for a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in spite of interest from London rivals Chelsea, who could offer him a lucrative wage and long-term contract.

However, Spurs can still present the 24-year-old with the opportunity to play Champions League football, and he can expect plenty of minutes in North London following other Tottenham transfer calls.

The Lilywhites are believed to have taken a step back in their pursuit of Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze, while Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is giving priority to a move to Manchester United.

Tottenham 'to return' with second Kudus bid this week

As a result, Kudus is now their prime attacking target, and Fabrizio Romano claims that a second official bid from the Europa League holders is now forthcoming.

While Chelsea and other clubs have been conversing with the attacker's representatives, Tottenham are the only team to have advanced their interest to the point of club-to-club discussions.

Personal terms are not expected to be a problem given Kudus's desire to make the move, and Spurs boss Thomas Frank has reportedly given the thumbs-up to a deal too.

Kudus's West Ham deal runs for another three seasons with an option until 2029, but the Irons are expected to entertain appropriate bids given their need to raise funds for their own summer business.

The former Ajax man has come up with 19 goals and 13 assists in 80 matches for West Ham in all tournaments, netting 13 times across the last two Premier League campaigns.

Where might Kudus fit in at Tottenham?

As is the case with many players in the modern game, one of Kudus's biggest strengths is his versatility, as the Ghana international can do a job and do it well no matter where he is deployed up front.

Throughout his career, Kudus has been the most impactful from the right-hand side; data from Transfermarkt shows he has produced 21 goals and 10 assists from 50 starts at club level in that position.

The 24-year-old could therefore rival Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson for minutes in that position at Spurs, or alternatively, he could inherit the left-wing position if Son Heung-min leaves.

It is also not impossible to imagine Kudus operating centrally - either as the most advanced midfielder or makeshift number nine - and this prospective signing is an exciting one for numerous reasons for the Lilywhites.

old becomes 'standout' transfer target for Italian giants

Spurs could aid Man Utd mission as 28-year-old becomes - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma is a 'standout' option for Serie A giants Juventus during the summer transfer window, according to a report.

Spurs are understood to be open to offers for the Mali international during the current market, as he has now entered the last 12 months of his contract in North London.

Bissouma excelled in a midfield partnership with Pape Sarr during Ange Postecoglou's first season at the club, but the former Brighton & Hove Albion man experienced a downturn in fortunes last term.

Bissouma still featured regularly with 44 appearances in all competitions, including the full 90 minutes in each of Spurs' final three Europa League matches en route to the trophy.

However, the 28-year-old started less than half of Tottenham's Premier League matches, and with no contract extension in sight, a summer sale is the likeliest outcome.

Bissouma asking price 'revealed' amid Juventus interest

According to Gazzetta, Bissouma has now emerged as a top midfield target for Juventus, who is 'more than an idea' for general manager Damien Comolli.

The Bianconeri chief is understood to possess an 'excellent relationship' with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy from their previous dealings, and Juve have 'sensed an opportunity' to make a move this summer.

As Spurs are at risk of losing Bissouma for nothing next year, the Lilywhites are not demanding a premium and would apparently be happy to sell for a figure within the €15m (£13m) to €20m (£17.3m) range.

While unnamed Premier League clubs are also rumoured to be keeping tabs on the situation, Spurs would supposedly rather sell the 28-year-old to a foreign team rather than helping to strengthen one of their rivals.

However, there is a catch to Juve's interest, as Bissouma would occupy the second and final non-EU spot in the Bianconeri's squad after Canadian international striker Jonathan David, whose signing was confirmed on Friday.

How Bissouma's Juventus move could help Man United

If a deal can be struck to bring Bissouma to Turin, the Malian would be expected to compete for places in a two-man midfield with Weston McKennie and Manuel Locatelli under Igor Tudor.

The Tottenham man would therefore act as a direct replacement for former Aston Villa lynchpin Douglas Luiz, whom Juventus are looking to offload, potentially back to the Premier League.

Manchester United are rumoured to be showing the strongest interest in the Brazil international, whom they have apparently been offered as part of a deal for Jadon Sancho.

Tottenham 'battling Inter Milan' for £21.5m Cristian Romero replacement after Atletico Madrid 'agreement' claim

Frank's first Spurs battle: Tottenham 'rivalling' Inter for - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly have to fend off interest from Inter Milan to win the race for Genoa's Koni de Winter this summer.

The Lilywhites have seen little high-profile activity either in or out of the club during the current transfer window, having spent the first half of June sorting out their managerial situation.

Thomas Frank has inherited a tight-knit group of players, although Cristian Romero's future remains a hot-button topic amid rumoured interest from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

Claims emerged from South America earlier this week that Atletico had struck a verbal agreement to sign the Argentine World Cup winner, although those reports were swiftly shot down.

Nevertheless, Diego Simeone is thought to have a serious interest in bringing his compatriot to the Spanish capital this summer, where Spurs would be expected to sign a replacement if such a deal does materialise.

Tottenham 'learn De Winter asking price' amid Romero concerns

The Lilywhites have already signed Kevin Danso on a permanent deal from Lens this summer, in addition to reportedly agreeing a £5m deal for Kawasaki Frontale youngster Kota Takai.

The latter is expected to be integrated into the first team straight away, while teenager Luka Vuskovic will also be given the chance to impress Frank during Spurs' run of pre-season friendlies.

However, talkSPORT claims that Genoa's De Winter is firmly on Tottenham's radar after two solid seasons with Genoa, whom he has scored three goals in 57 appearances for in all tournaments.

The 23-year-old signed for Il Grifone permanently from Juventus last summer after an initial loan spell, and they would be looking for a healthy profit on the €8m (£6.9m) they paid the Bianconeri for the Belgian in 2024.

Genoa's asking price would still be feasible for a club of Tottenham's calibre, though, as the Italian side apparently want £21.5m to sanction his permanent exit during the current window.

The Europa League winners must also be wary of reported interest from Inter Milan in De Winter, who can play as a right-back and defensive midfielder as well as in the heart of defence.

Which other Romero replacements can Spurs target?

At a modest £21.5m, De Winter would prove to be a far cheaper alternative to another of Tottenham's reported defensive targets - RB Leipzig and France centre-back Castello Lukeba.

The former Lyon man is thought to have a €90m (£77.7m) release clause in his contract with the German giants, although there is an expectation that Leipzig will accept a lower fee.

Tottenham may have to go abroad rather than close to home to find a Romero successor, as Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite has signed a new deal on Merseyside, while Liverpool are thought to be leading the race for Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi.

Chelsea transfer news: Blues, Tottenham Hotspur 'chasing' AZ Alkmaar youngster

Chelsea, Spurs among clubs 'chasing' AZ Alkmaar youngster - Sports Mole
Description

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing AZ Alkmaar youngster Kees Smit.

The West and North Londoners will be busy in the transfer market between now and the start of September, the former having already shown their intent.

However, as well as the Blues keeping with their relentless approach to acquiring prospects, Spurs will be looking to make a statement with Thomas Frank now in charge.

According to TBR Football, the two Premier League clubs are ready to try to tempt AZ into cashing in on Smit.

Who is Kees Smit?

The report claims that there is concrete interest in acquiring the services of the versatile midfielder over the coming weeks.

Despite being just 19 years of age, Smit has already racked up 31 appearances for AZ, contributing two goals and two assists.

Furthermore, Smit recently played all five games as Netherlands won the Under-19 European Championship, the starlet scoring four times.

Those performances have been enough to enhance his reputation to such an extent that English top-flight clubs are prepared to battle it out for his signature.

A wide array of European giants are also said to be monitoring the situation, including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Marseille.

Smith has a contract in place with AZ until 2028, but only qualifying for next season's Conference League may encourage club officials to consider any lucrative proposals.

Which club would represent best move?

Given the young talent that are already at Chelsea and Spurs, it is questionable whether Smit would earn much first-team football at either team in 2025-26.

With the likes of Ajax and RB Leipzig also said to be admirers, it may make more sense for Smit to move to either of those teams.

That said, there is also value in remaining with AZ when this remains a player who has accumulated just 1,532 minutes of football in the senior ranks.

Tottenham Hotspur transfer latest: Bid 'rejected' by Premier League club as Thomas Frank's rebuild hits stumbling block

Frank's rebuild hits stumbling block as Spurs have bid for - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have had a bid rejected for West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus, the latest reports have claimed.

Following the appointment of Thomas Frank as boss, Spurs have been linked with a host of players, with the former Brentford manager keen on rebuilding the side.

However, reported target Bryan Mbeumo is said to prefer a move to Manchester United, while Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo has signed a new contract with the Cherries.

Recent rumours suggested that Tottenham have turned their attention to West Ham attacker Kudus, who has a release clause worth £85m.

Though Spurs are keen on bringing the 24-year-old to the club, Fichajes claim that the Hammers have rejected an offer of £50m, adding that West Ham do not see now as the right time to cash in on a key star.

Are Tottenham making a mistake?

Kudus is able to play across the forward line, and his versatility could be a valuable asset to Tottenham, who suffered numerous injury issues last term.

Having said that, the Ghanaian does not have a track record of production in attack, and has in fact only scored more than nine league goals in a season twice in his entire career.

His tally of five goals and three assists in the Premier League in 2024-25 would have only been the joint sixth best return at Spurs in terms of direct goal involvements, level with right-back Pedro Porro.

Additionally, Frank must consider whether spending in excess of £50m would be the best use of funds considering his side need to improve drastically at the back next season.

Tottenham conceded 65 league goals in 2024-25, a tally that made them the division's fifth worst defensive side, while their tally of 64 goals scored was the joint seventh best return.

Tottenham 'rivalling Liverpool, Bayern' for £77.6m defender as new Cristian Romero replacement identified

Spurs face Bayern bidding war as new £77.6m Romero - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the race for highly-rated RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba as uncertainty reigns over Cristian Romero's future.

Integral defender Romero is understood to be a priority target for Atletico Madrid in the current window, and it was recently claimed that the two clubs had reached an agreement in principle over a summer transfer.

Those reports from Argentina were quickly shot down, but Diego Simeone is supposedly determined to bring his compatriot to the Spanish capital before the summer window slams shut.

Romero's Tottenham deal now has a little under two years left to run too, meaning that the Europa League winners may not stand in his way of leaving if an offer comes in that is too good to refuse.

Spurs have already struck a permanent deal for former Lens loanee Kevin Danso as a potential replacement, and Thomas Frank could also add two young players to his defensive ranks in pre-season.

A £5m deal has apparently been agreed for Kawasaki Frontale defender Kota Takai, while teenage talent Luka Vuskovic could be given the chance to force his way into the first team too.

Tottenham 'in three-team battle' to sign Leipzig's Lukeba

However, Romero's departure would likely lead to the addition of another defender, and Foot Mercato claims that 22-year-old Leipzig centre-back Lukeba is wanted by the Tottenham powers-that-be.

The former Lyon man has gone from strength to strength in Germany since leaving his homeland two years ago, making 72 appearances for Leipzig in all tournaments and scoring one goal.

Lukeba was also a standout player for France at the Under-21 Euros, providing two assists in four appearances as his nation lost to eventual runners-up Germany in the semi-finals.

Spurs will not land the 2002-born centre-back without a fight, though, as Bayern Munich and Liverpool are also rumoured to be monitoring developments surrounding his future this summer.

Liverpool have already seen Jarell Quansah leave for Bayer Leverkusen and are struggling to tie Ibrahima Konate to a new contract, but Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi appears to be higher up on their shortlist at present.

Why Tottenham must prepare for Lukeba bidding war

Following apparent interest from Chelsea and Manchester United last year, Leipzig struck an agreement with Lukeba to extend his contract until the end of the 2028-29 season.

That deal is understood to include a hefty €90m (£77.9m) release clause, but the report adds that Leipzig are prepared to accept a lower fee as per an agreement with the player's camp.

As a result, Tottenham face the very real prospect of a bidding war with Bayern and Liverpool for the signature of the 22-year-old, but owing to their limited spending so far this summer, money should not be a problem.

Man United, Spurs-linked attacker signs new Bournemouth contract to dampen transfer speculation - Sports Mole
Description

Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo has signed a new five-year contract after being linked with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Semenyo enjoyed a successful 2024-25 campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 37 Premier League appearances to help his side secure a top-half finish.

The attacker's impressive form led to links over a potential move away from the Vitality Stadium this summer.Â

Tottenham Hotspur enquired about Semenyo's availability, while Man United are also said to be among the player's admirers.Â

However, it was recently reported that Man United and Spurs had cooled their interest after being 'chased off' by Bournemouth.Â

Bournemouth announce new Semenyo deal

Semenyo, who has also been linked with Liverpool, has now put pen to paper on a new Bournemouth contract to effectively end the speculation over a potential summer exit.

The Ghanaian had four years left to run on his previous deal, but he has now signed a fresh five-year contract to extend his stay until the summer of 2030.

Bournemouth's President of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto, told the club's official website: “Antoine has been crucial to the club’s progress and is a key member of the project here at Vitality Stadium.

“We have a great relationship with Antoine, and we’re looking forward to continuing that as we hope to build on a record-breaking season.

"His commitment to the club matches our ambition, and I’m excited to see what can be achieved as we prepare for the new campaign.”

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola will be glad to secure Semenyo's future, having already seen two key players leave this summer.

Central defender Dean Huijsen completed a £50m move to Real Madrid, while left-back Milos Kerkez recently signed for Liverpool in a deal worth £40m.

What did Semenyo say about his new contract?

Despite being linked with a move away, Semenyo has made it clear that he is happy to continue his successful association with the Cherries.

“I’ve grown so much at the club, both on and off the pitch, and I’m really happy to have signed ahead of returning for pre-season," Semenyo said.

“From the fans to the staff and my teammates, I can’t speak highly enough of the people around the club.

"It’s a great place to be and I’m excited to get back to Bournemouth and continue the hard work with the new season just around the corner.” Â

With Semenyo set to stay at Bournemouth, Tottenham will focus on other attacking targets as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of Thomas Frank's first season in charge.

Tottenham Hotspur expiring contracts: Who is free to leave in 2026 and 2027? - Sports Mole
Description

Seventeen was the number for Tottenham Hotspur in the 2024-25 season, in both the best sense and the worst sense for Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian ended Spurs' 17-year wait for another trophy in the Europa League, but a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League was a sack-worthy ranking in the eyes of Daniel Levy and other Lilywhites chiefs.

A few free agents followed Postecoglou out of the door in Alfie Whiteman, Sergio Reguilon and Fraser Forster, but which players could follow in the next 12 or 24 months?

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at the Tottenham players whose contracts either expire at the end of June 2026, or in the summer of 2027.
