Frank could reunite with ruthless Brentford man as Spurs - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly shown interest in a possible move for a Brentford attacker in the next summer transfer window.

The Lilywhites reinforced their offensive ranks with the signings of Randal Kolo Muani, Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons over the summer, as well as converting Mathys Tel's loan from Bayern Munich into a permanent deal.

The latter and Kudus were on target in last weekend's 2-1 Premier League victory over Leeds United, as Spurs maintained their unbeaten start to the new Premier League season under Thomas Frank.

The Dane was tipped to bring both Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo with him to North London in the most recent window, but the ex-Bees pair joined Newcastle United and Manchester United respectively instead.

However, Spurs could still reunite Frank with one of his former Gtech Community Stadium stars, as journalist Florian Plettenberg claims that the Lilywhites are now keeping tabs on German winger Kevin Schade.

Spurs show transfer 'interest' in Kevin Schade for 2026

The 23-year-old was brought to Brentford on an initial loan deal from Freiburg in 2023, before Frank's Brentford signed him on a permanent basis for £21.8m that same summer.

Schade was initially outshone by the likes of Wissa, Mbeumo and Ivan Toney in the Bees' attack and also struggled with a serious adductor injury in 2023-24, but he has since started to find his feet in West London, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists in 82 games for Brentford.

A productive 2024-25 campaign saw Schade net 11 goals in 38 Premier League appearances, although he has only struck once in seven games so far this season, scoring Brentford's first in their 2-2 derby draw with Chelsea.

Nevertheless, Tottenham have apparently expressed an interest in signing the Germany international at the end of the season, although they are just one of several teams running the rule over the attacker.

Brentford have Schade under contract until the end of the 2027-28 season, though, and the Bees are well-placed to demand a profit on the 23-year-old given his Premier League exploits last season.

What would Kevin Schade bring to Tottenham?

With Frank at the Brentford helm, Schade occupied a number of positions in the Bees' attack, functioning as a right-winger and centre-forward but largely coming up with his best work on the left-hand side.

The German memorably struck a hat-trick and also provided an assist in a 4-1 thrashing of Leicester City last November, as well as scoring in three straight games against Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and Ipswich Town in May.

Schade would likely compete for wide starts at Tottenham too, and one statistic that immediately jumps out is his aerial ability, having won 3.32 off-ground duels per match over the past 365 days.

Such a number puts Schade in the top 1% of all wingers in the big five European leagues, and the 6ft 1in German has also established a reputation for ruthlessness when chances arrive.

Schade has registered 0.21 goals per shot in the Premier League over the past year, putting him in the top 3% of all wide men across the English top flight, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

Tottenham injury news: Thomas Frank handed fresh boost as 26

Description

Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank has been blessed with a new fitness boost during the international break, as one of Spurs' injury victims took part in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Friday.

The Lilywhites entered the second national-team hiatus of the season on the back of a 2-1 success over Leeds United, which maintained Frank's unbeaten start to the 2025-26 Premier League season since taking over from Ange Postecoglou.

Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus came up with the goals for Tottenham at Elland Road, where neither Dominic Solanke nor Randal Kolo Muani were present on account of their injuries.

Solanke has been struggling to overcome an ankle problem since the start of the season, and the former Liverpool and Bournemouth man is now on the mend from a minor operation.

Meanwhile, Kolo Muani has made just one appearance for the Lilywhites since his loan signing from Paris Saint-Germain, having sustained a thigh injury after his debut against Villarreal in the Champions League on September 16.

Frank confirmed ahead of the Leeds game that the Frenchman had been training on the field for a couple of days, and he has now stepped up his recovery by competing in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Watford.

Randal Kolo Muani plays 45 minutes in Tottenham friendly

It is unclear which other Tottenham players were involved in the game, or indeed how the contest - which also featured ex-Spurs midfielder and now-Hornets man Moussa Sissoko - panned out.

However, Kolo Muani seemingly came through his 45 minutes unscathed, and the striker could be in line for his Premier League baptism when Tottenham host Aston Villa in their first game back on October 19.

Kolo Muani arrived at Spurs on the back of representing Juventus in the Club World Cup, denying the France international a proper pre-season, as he was also omitted from PSG's early Ligue 1 matchday squads in August.

The striker managed 10 goals and three assists from 22 games while representing Juve last season, but he has struck just 11 times in 54 appearances for PSG since his £82.8m arrival in 2023.

How are Tottenham's other injury victims progressing?

Kolo Muani should soon be competing with Tel and Richarlison for minutes in the Tottenham attack, but the same cannot be said for Solanke, as there is still no further detail on how long the Englishman might be sidelined for.

For the time being, Solanke joins James Maddison, Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, Kota Takai and Yves Bissouma in the infirmary, but a handful of those injury victims could return imminently.

Ankle victim Takai has also been in team training for a while and should be in line for a belated debut soon, while Dragusin is finally closing in on a return from January's devastating ACL rupture.

However, Kulusevski will likely remain sidelined until late November, while there is no update on Bissouma's recovery from a knee injury, and Maddison (ACL) could miss the entire season.

'Presented their project' - Spurs star Richarlison 'receives - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison is reportedly wanted by MLS outfit Orlando City during 2026.

Spurs are also in the market for reinforcements in the upcoming calendar year, supposedly keeping close tabs on Middlesbrough and England Under-21 international Hayden Hackney.

The youngster was linked with a switch to the Premier League over the summer but stayed put at the Riverside Stadium, where Rob Edwards's men have made an excellent start to the Championship season.

Enjoying a promising opening to the top-flight term, Richarlison has scored three goals and provided one assist across seven Premier League appearances.

Since switching Merseyside life with Everton for North London in the summer of 2022, the 28-year-old has featured on 101 occasions for Spurs, scoring 23 goals.

Tottenham star Richarlison wanted in MLS?

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Richarlison could be out of the North London door at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.

The report claims that MLS outfit Orlando City are keen on securing the services of the 52-time international during the summer of 2026.

It is understood that members of the Lions' board travelled to the English capital to 'present their project' to Richarlison's representatives.

Featuring in all seven of Tottenham's Premier League matches so far this term, it is clear that the forward is an important part of Thomas Frank's plans.

However, neither side of the potential deal is yet to rule out a possible agreement, which would likely see Richarilson move to Orlando for the second half of the 2026 MLS campaign.

Injuries highlight Richarlison necessity

New head coach Frank has taken plenty of injury blows to his first-team squad at the start of 2025-26, especially in attacking areas.

After 16 goals in his maiden campaign at Spurs, Dominic Solanke has been limited to just two Premier League appearances so far because of an ankle problem.

Liverpool transfer news: Reds ‘determined to compete’ for £75m Premier League forward against Man United, Tottenham

Liverpool ‘determined to compete’ for £75m PL forward - Sports Mole
Description

Premier League champions Liverpool are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Bournemouth star Antonine Semenyo.

The 25-year-old is enjoying a hugely impressive 2025-26 season in the Premier League, which began with two goals at Anfield in a 4-2 defeat for the Cherries on the opening weekend of the new campaign.

Semenyo most recently scored twice and provided one assist to help Bournemouth come from behind and beat Fulham 3-1 at the Vitality Stadium, increasing his goal-contribution total to nine (six goals, three assists) after just seven league appearances this term.

The Ghana international has elevated his game to new heights since committing his future to Bournemouth by putting pen to paper on a new five-year contract in July.

Semenyo recently admitted that he ‘did not feel wanted’ enough to leave the Vitality Stadium in the summer, but his impressive start to the new season has unsurprisingly intensified speculation about his future.

Liverpool ready to rival PL clubs for Semenyo

Semenyo’s personal skills coach, Saul Isaksson-Hurst, has claimed that “it is a matter of time” before the Champions League-level forward leaves Bournemouth to join a “big club”.

Recent reports claim that Chelsea are planning a £78m offer for Semenyo, while the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest.

According to The Mirror, Liverpool are another club keeping tabs on Semenyo, who is now valued at £75m by Bournemouth.

It is understood that the Merseyside giants are weighing up a move for the Ghanaian, with sporting director Richard Hughes known to be an admirer having previously signed the forward from Bristol City when he worked at Bournemouth.

A separate report from Spain claims that Liverpool are 'determined to compete' for Semenyo against both Man United and Spurs, as the club considered revamping their attack one again.

Could Liverpool splash the cash again on a new forward?

Liverpool’s alleged interest in Semenyo would come as a surprise to many after they forked out around £450m on new signings in the summer transfer window, breaking the British transfer record twice to sign Florian Wirtz and then Alexander Isak.

Head coach Arne Slot has found it difficult to get the best out of his attacking stars so far this season, with Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Hugo Ekitike - another new signing - among those also competing for regular stars in the final third.

It is understood that Liverpool have identified Semenyo as a potential target amidst uncertainty over the long-term future of 33-year-old Salah, who has not performed at his prolific best so far this term and has less than two years remaining on a contract he extended in April.

Tottenham transfer news: Three players Spurs could buy with £100m cash injection as Lewis family make major statement

Lavish Lilywhites! Three players Spurs could buy with £100m - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that the Lewis family have pumped £100m of capital into the club following their recent major upstairs restructuring.

The Lilywhites have undergone a period of seismic change over the past several weeks, as long-serving chairman Daniel Levy was removed from his position after 24 years at the helm last month.

Former Arsenal chief Vinai Venkatesham is now overseeing the day-to-day running of the club as their new CEO, and the 44-year-old has taken over while Spurs' players get to grips with Thomas Frank's style of management.

The ex-Brentford head coach brought in the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Joao Palhinha, Kota Takai, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel in the summer transfer window, as Tottenham spent close to £200m on new signings.

The new-look Lilywhites have made an eye-catching start to proceedings since Frank took over, taking 14 points from the first 21 available in the 2025-26 Premier League season to sit second in the top-flight table.

Tottenham announce £100m cash injection from Lewis family

At the same time, rumours have been swirling surrounding a possible takeover at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although Spurs have affirmed on numerous occasions that the club is not for sale.

Spurs' owners have now demonstrated their commitment to the team, as Tottenham announced on Thursday morning that ENIC had injected £100m of new capital into the club, as part of their efforts to drive "long-term sporting success".

Peter Charrington, Spurs' non-executive chairman, said: “As I stated a few weeks ago, our focus is on stability and empowering the management team to deliver on the Club’s ambitions.

"I know the Lewis family are also ambitious for the future. Today’s capital commitment reflects that ambition and I would like to thank them for their ongoing support.

"We will continue to do all we can to ensure that Vinai and his team are supported in the best way possible to take this Club forward.”

Which players could Tottenham buy with £100m cash injection?

Following the news of another £100m, Spurs supporters will inevitably get excited about the prospect of new signings ahead of the January transfer window, or indeed the summer market in 2026.

The Lilywhites are believed to have a strong interest in Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, who has made an exceptional start to the 2025-26 Premier League season with six goals and three assists from his first seven appearances.

Semenyo is valued at €40m (£34.7m) by Transfermarkt, although Bournemouth would almost certainly demand a much higher figure for the Ghana international given he has just signed a new contract until 2030.

Spurs are also said to have taken a liking to Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney, who is valued at €20m (£17.4m), while £52m-rated Villarreal striker Georges Mikautadze is thought to be on the Lilywhites' radar as well.

Antoine Semenyo transfer news: Bournemouth 'braced' for interest in Tottenham Man United

Bournemouth 'braced' for Semenyo interest with valuation - Sports Mole
Description

Bournemouth are reportedly 'braced for serious interest' in star man Antoine Semenyo following his impressive start to the campaign.

The Cherries sold the key defensive trio of Dean Huijsen, Illia Zabarnyi and Milos Kerkez in the summer transfer window.Â

However, crucially, Bournemouth managed to retain Semenyo by tying their key attacker down to a new long-term contract.

The Ghana international penned fresh terms on a deal that is set to run until the summer of 2030, but that has not stopped him from being linked with a move away from the Vitality Stadium.

Semenyo set to attract signicant interest in 2026

According to talkSPORT, the Cherries acknowledge that Semenyo will receive 'serious interest' if he continues to perform for Andoni Iraola's side.Â

The report claims that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United remain among his suitors after holding discussions with the player before he put pen to paper on his new Bournemouth deal.

Liverpool are another club in the race for Semenyo's signature, with the club's sporting director, Richard Hughes, said to be a big fan after he brought Semenyo to Bournemouth in 2023.Â

Meanwhile, a recent report claimed that Chelsea are willing to table a £78m bid in an effort to prise Semenyo away from the Vitality Stadium in 2026.Â

Bournemouth to demand signicant fee

Bournemouth will be reluctant to part ways with one of their most prized assets, but even if they listen to offers, they will at least be in a strong negotiating position due to Semenyo's contract situation.Â

As a result, the south coast side are expected to demand at least £75m to part ways with the Ghanian in 2026.Â

That figure could increase if Semenyo continues to put in impressive performances, having made an impressive start to the 2025-26 campaign.Â

Semenyo is sitting second in the Premier League scoring charts after netting six goals in seven league matches, including a match-winning brace in last Friday's 3-1 home win over Fulham.

The winger, who can play on either flank, has also contributed with three assists to help put Bournemouth in fourth position.Â

Bayern Munich transfer news: Latest on "current contract" of "comfortable" Harry Kane amid Tottenham Hotspur links

Bayern chief addresses contract of "comfortable" Kane amid - Sports Mole
Description

Bayern Munich director Christoph Freund has claimed that Harry Kane can envisage himself staying beyond his current contract despite links to Tottenham Hotspur.

The English striker has enjoyed a remarkable start to the 2025-26 season, scoring 18 goals and providing three assists in just 10 games.

Many have argued that Kane is an early frontrunner for the Ballon d'Or, and it is hard to disagree considering his exceptional form.

The Bayern man is only contracted to the club until the summer of 2027, and there have been rumours of a release clause in his deal.

Speaking to Sky Germany, Freund insisted that the forward could stay beyond his current terms, saying: "Both us and Harry Kane's side can easily imagine continuing together beyond the end of the current contract.

"Harry feels very comfortable in Munich. That's why we hope he'll stay in Munich for a few more years."

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move back to former club Tottenham Hotspur, while the likes of Manchester United have also been credited with a tentative interest.

Why Harry Kane should stay in the Bundesliga

Kane has found the adaptation to life in the Bundesliga straightforward, and he even became the quickest ever player to score 100 goals for a single club in Europe's top-five leagues, achieving the feat in 104 games.

If the Englishman stays in Germany and continues to perform at a high level, then he could write himself further into the Bavarians' history books, raising his profile as a legend of the game.

Should he decide to remain with current boss Vincent Kompany, he will likely have numerous opportunities to win the Champions League given Bayern are usually considered amongst the favourites to win the competition.

Since the Bundesliga title that the German side won last season was the first piece of silverware in Kane's career, the striker may view remaining where he is as the best way to collect as many medals as possible before calling time on his career.

Why Harry Kane should return to the Premier League

Kane is currently the Premier League's second leading scorer in history, with only Alan Shearer (260) bettering his tally of 213 goals.

Considering the Bayern man has netted at least 21 league goals in eight of the past 11 seasons, as well as at least 25 in six of his last 10 campaigns, it would not be surprising if he managed to break Shearer's record if he returned to England.

Thomas Frank has proven himself to be an excellent manager in the Premier League, and perhaps he will have Spurs in a position to challenge for major honours by the time Kane's contract expires.

Winning the Premier League with Tottenham - or any major trophy - would also help close the story on his career with the club on an emphatic note.

2 Tottenham Hotspur: Highlights, man of the match, stats as Mohammed Kudus inspires hard

Magic Mohammed Kudus inspires Frank's Spurs in hard-fought - Sports Mole
Description

Tottenham Hotspur continued their excellent start to the Premier League campaign when they earned an impressive three points in a hard-fought 2-1 victory against a strong Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Peacocks opened the game with purpose and intent, creating a flurry of chances within the first 10 minutes that culminated in Joe Rodon hitting the post with a header following a Sean Longstaff free kick.

However, it was Thomas Frank's side that took the lead through Mathys Tel, who put his strife behind him to net his first goal of the season with a powerful, deflected strike into the top corner.

Promoted teams in the past may have crumbled one down to a top-six club, but Leeds manager Daniel Farke will be delighted that his players continued to threaten, and they were rewarded when Noah Okafor scored a deserved equaliser after Guglielmo Vicario saved a finely-worked shot from Brenden Aaronson.

The entertainment did not stop there, as Tel hit the bar just before the interval, and after a failed attack from Spurs moments after half time, the hosts forced an excellent save from Vicario.

Tottenham regained the lead thanks to Mohammed Kudus, who opened his Lilywhites account with a clever reverse finish from the edge of the box around the hour mark, and his effort was enough to secure the points despite late chances for Joel Piroe and Pascal Struijk.

SPORTS MOLE'S VERDICT

Leeds may have been beaten on Saturday, but they put in a commendable performance that should bolster fans' hopes of staying in the Premier League beyond this term.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin delivered another strong performance at centre-forward, linking play and competing for balls high up the pitch, and if he can stay fit then he will be important to his team's season.

Okafor's first-half equaliser was the Peacocks' 800th goal in the top flight, and they are sure to add to that tally as they seek to become the first promoted club to survive since 2022-23.

One of the often-repeated stats ahead of this game was the fact that Tottenham's top goalscorer this season was not one of their players, but rather own goals from their opponents, with Spurs having benefitted from four own goals in their last five games.

However, Tel and Kudus both got off the mark this season in this clash - the latter for the club in general - and Frank will be pleased to see his forwards building their confidence with important goals at the weekend.

Those strikes moved the Lilywhites up to second in the table and maintained their record of not dropping a single point once having taken the lead in a match, while also meaning that only Manchester City have scored more often in 2025-26.

LEEDS UNITED VS. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR HIGHLIGHTS

Mathys Tel goal vs. Leeds United (23rd min, Leeds United 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur)

Rodrigo Bentancur pokes the ball to Kudus in the centre of the park, and the former Ajax man plays Tel through on the right flank.

The French forward then dribbles to the edge of the box, before rifling a powerful strike into the top-right corner, though it did take a deflection on its way past Karl Darlow.

Noah Okafor goal vs. Tottenham Hotspur (34th min, Leeds United 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur)

Jayden Bogle whips the ball in to striker Calvert-Lewin, who intelligently lays it off to Aaronson to hit first time, and while the latter's effort was saved by Vicario, a deflection on the way through meant that his stop fell to the feet of Okafor to fire into a near-empty net from close range.

Mohammed Kudus goal vs. Leeds (57th min, Leeds United 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur)

Pedro Porro plays a speculative ball down the right flank towards Kudus, and it bounces off Leeds left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson before falling to the feet of the Spurs forward.

Kudus then drives infield, dribbling across the edge for the 18-yard box before hitting a reverse strike into the bottom-right corner that gives Darlow no chance.

MAN OF THE MATCH - MOHAMMED KUDUS

The Ghana forward has sparkled in general play, especially with his dribbling, but it took until Saturday's clash to score his first goal for Tottenham.

Kudus's strike was the eventual winner, and while he also assisted Tel's opener in the first half, he impressively won the most duels in the game (10).

Man City transfer news: Savinho’s “special” reasons behind Tottenham U

Savinho's “special” reasons behind Spurs U-turn after - Sports Mole
Description

Manchester City have announced that Savinho has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.

The 21-year-old Brazil international is in his second season with the Citizens after joining from sister club Troyes for an initial £21m in the summer of 2024.

Savinho featured regularly under manager Pep Guardiola in his maiden campaign on the blue side of Manchester, chipping in with three goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions, as well as lifting the 2024 Community Shield.

Guardiola recently claimed that Savinho has the potential to develop into a “top-class player” at Man City having already shown glimpses of his talent since arriving in England.

The skilful winger’s performances caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and Thomas Frank’s side were pushing to sign the youngster towards the end of the transfer window.

It was reported that Savinho was open to joining Spurs and he did not feature in any of Man City’s Premier League fixtures in August amidst uncertainty over his future, with Guardiola stating that his absence was due to injury.

Savinho “proud” to commit future to Man City as he continues to fulfil his “dream”

However, Savinho has performed a U-turn on his future at Man City, who have been determined to keep hold of the winger and informed Spurs that they have no interest in selling him in the summer.

Savinho has labelled Man City as “the best club in the world” and he has explained why committing his future to the Citizens is “special” for both himself and his family.

“First of all, I want to thank God for this new opportunity to sign another contract with Manchester City,” Savinho told the club’s official website. “I’m really happy and my family is also very happy. I feel fulfilled!Â

“My dream since I was little was always to play for Manchester City, and I managed to achieve that, and now, extending my contract here makes it even more special. I feel really proud and I hope to continue and be very happy here at Manchester City.”

Explaining what is special about Man City, the winger added: “I think everything - the manager, the players, the best club in the world, the club’s structure as well.

“Since the first day I arrived here the club has given me full support on every level - personal, family. My family is really happy here too - my daughter, my wife - so I’m very happy.”

“It’s a very special feeling to know that Pep and the club have placed such faith in me. It really means a lot to me and my family,” Savinho added.

Savinho: “I will give my best to help Man City win trophies”

Savinho believes he has developed into a better player since arriving at the Etihad and he is confident that Guardiola and his coaching staff will continue to help enhance his development.Â

“I think I’ve improved a lot,” the winger said. “In this first season, working with the staff and with Pep, I’m really happy to have developed under him.Â

“I think I’ve improved a lot tactically. Technically too - I understand the game better, I’ve learnt to read it better, to know what it asks in certain moments. Of course, I’m still very young and I have a lot to improve.”

“[Man City fans] can expect lots of joy on the pitch, goals, assists,” Savinho continued. “I will give my best to help Manchester City win trophies, which is the most important thing.Â

“I hope to put my name in the club’s history by winning trophies. So I hope to do that together with my teammates and finish the season with lots of silverware.”

Man City’s No.26 is the latest first-team star to commit his future to the club after Nico O’Reilly, who extended his contract last week, while Ruben Dias and Rico Lewis have also penned fresh terms this season.
