Ella Morris on new deal: “I want to repay the trust the Club has shown in me” - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Ella Morris spoke about the trust from the Club to hand her a new, long-term contract – and she’s ready to repay the faith shown in her.

One of the standout stars in second half of the 2024/25 campaign, where she claimed the Juniors’ Player of the Season award, the defender has since been recovering from her second Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in her career, which she suffered at the backend of May, 2025.

‘Character’, ‘resilience’ and ‘determination’ – those are just a few words that Head Coach Martin Ho has used to describe Ella, as she approaches the final stages of her rehabilitation, currently completing laps of running on the grass once again.

Despite not being on the pitch at any point this season, Ella was thrilled to see the Club put even more trust in her and the strong first half of the season has made her even more excited to get back out there.

“I'm very excited, it's an amazing Club to be a part of in general,” she told us, after signing a new deal. “Just seeing the growth of the team from last season to this season, how Martin's come in and really giving the girls a sense of belief in how we're playing.

“It's an exciting time to be part of and we're pushing in the league now. It’s definitely a Club with ambition and a Club I want to be a part of.

“For Martin to show that trust without seeing me play physically yet means everything. In any sport, having the manager believe in you is massive, and knowing he has that belief gives me confidence that I can come back, develop again, and get back to playing football.

“The development of the team has been massive. It’s not even about a huge change in personnel, it’s the style and you can see what Martin has given the team in terms of confidence and freedom to play.

“I’ve started integrating more into team meetings, listening to tactics, and thinking, ‘that would suit me, I could bring something there’. It’s such an exciting time to be part of the Club.”

Completing every minute in our last eight games in the WSL last term, where she also scored her first goal in for the Club in our clash with Aston Villa, it has been a very different experience for our number three watching from the stands this campaign.

While it has been a tough experience for her, she has been filled with plenty of pride to see the growth of the side, as we currently sit fourth in the table, but has given her extra motivation to get back on the pitch sooner.

“It’s been tough, definitely,” she explained. “The first few months were really hard, especially going to watch games, but I’m so proud of the girls. The development and the growth from last season have been brilliant to see. It gives me real joy seeing us win, push for top spots, and do well - but it also gives me that extra drive because I want to be part of that success.

“The support from my teammates has been unreal - I can’t fault them. They’ve been there every step of the way. Even little things like people asking ‘how my day’s been’ when I come into the gym. We’re such a close team and that’s another huge reason why I want to stay here.”

Under-18s go joint-top with home win over Villa

Under-18s go joint-top with home win over Villa - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Reiss Elliott-Parris scored the winner eight minutes from time as our Under-18s began 2026 with a 1-0 home victory against Aston Villa on Wednesday lunchtime.

The striker got his reward for a determined, high-energy display at centre-forward when he thumped home Leon Myrtaj’s driven ball across the box, finally breaching Villa’s rearguard after we’d been left frustrated for large parts of the contest.

Indeed, we’d dominated the first half in particular and probably deserved to be ahead at the interval in what was our first Under-18 Premier League outing since the 5-0 win at Fulham on 20 December, but hadn’t managed to find a breakthrough until Elliott-Parris struck.

Villa could have snatched a point with their best chance of the game late on when Alfie Lynskey got in on goal, but the midfielder crashed his shot against the crossbar, just seconds after we’d hit the bar at the other end through substitute Myrtaj.

Nevertheless, we were worthy winners overall, with the result at Hotspur Way seeing us move level at the top of the table with Crystal Palace and Chelsea on 24 points, albeit having played more games.

Elliott-Parris was alive to an early ball into the box to test Villa goalkeeper Owen Asemota, while Miracle Adewole was also denied twice by the custodian as we sought to turn our control of the first half into goals. Tyler Tingey and Oliver Boast equally got into good positions after crosses from the left, but couldn’t connect at the back post as we went in at half-time still goalless.

Goalkeeper Dylan Thompson produced a vital close-range block to deny Markie Meade at the start of the second period after the visiting striker had picked the pocket of defender Tingey in our box but, while we didn’t manage to maintain control as much as we had before the break, we still carried a threat and Elliott-Parris was unlucky to have a deft effort ruled out for offside after Asemota had somehow saved Tye Hall’s deflected low drive.

Asemota subsequently tipped Oliver Boast’s rasping angled shot behind for a corner before the breakthrough finally arrived in the 82nd minute, Harry Byrne pinging a cross-field ball out to Myrtaj on the right, whose driven strike across the box was thumped home first-time by Elliott-Parris as he ran onto it in the centre.

Myrtaj went close to doubling our lead in stoppage time when his floated effort over the stranded goalkeeper hit the bar, with Villa almost hitting back straight away on the counter, only for Lynskey to hit the bar himself in a golden chance for the visitors. We saw the game out, though, to begin the New Year in winning fashion.

‘A really pleasing first half’

Under-18s Coach Jamie Carr was particularly impressed with the players’ efforts in the opening 45 minutes, telling SPURSPLAY: “It was a really pleasing first half for us. We tried to set the boys a target around being really good out of possession, particularly in terms of our aggressiveness with our pressing and I thought, if you looked at the first half, you’d have seen a team that did that. Particularly the front three showed a really good effort to apply the instructions we’d given them. I just said to the guys, if you asked the opposition how it was to play against us at half-time, they’d have probably said it was a tough game. Overall, from that point of view, we were really pleased. The downside of the first half was that we lacked a little bit of quality in the final third.

“We felt that we should have been in front at half-time. There were bits in the second half that were positive, particularly the goal – I thought it was a good goal – but there were lots of parts of the second half where we’d probably say we needed to be a bit better, both in and out of possession. It came off the back of a difficult period where our game (against West Bromwich Albion) was cancelled last week, we’ve had some players with different squads throughout the last period as well and so overall, we’re happy to come out with a win and a good performance in the first half.”

Conor said: “I'm so happy and excited to be here, taking the next step in my career at an amazing club.

“I wanted to be a Spurs player and thankfully the Club felt the same. It was very easy, it happened very quickly and I'm ready to get on the pitch.

“I know how great the fans are, I’m really happy to be a part of it here and want to create special moments and memories together.”

Our Head Coach, Thomas Frank, said: “Conor is a top midfielder, who we have worked tirelessly to add to our squad.

“He is still young, so has plenty of room for improvement, but also has huge experience across the Premier League, La Liga and with the England national team.

“Conor has captained teams so will bring leadership, maturity, character and personality to our dressing room, while his running power, pressing ability and eye for goal will strengthen us in a key area of the pitch.

“I’m excited about working with him every day and I know the fans will love what he will bring to the team.”

A passionate, versatile and energetic midfielder, Conor began his professional career with Chelsea, starring in their youth teams before making his way into the first team at the end of the 2018/19 season, which included being part of the Blues’ Europa League final-winning squad.

Fruitful loans followed at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion, gaining Premier League experience at the latter before his breakthrough campaign came in 2021/22 as he joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan.

Featuring 39 times and scoring eight goals across the campaign at Selhurst Park, Conor was named the Eagles’ Player of the Season as the south London side fell just shy of a top 10 finish while they reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

Returning to Chelsea ahead of the following season, the central midfielder soon made his first-team debut for the west London side, going on to make 45 appearances in all competitions that term as well as scoring his first senior goals for the Blues.

Showcasing his leadership qualities, he regularly wore the captain’s armband in 2023/24 as he featured on a further 50 occasions for the Blues in all competitions, contributing to 16 goals.

After making 136 Premier League appearances, Conor headed to Spain to join Atletico Madrid in August, 2024, and went on to play 77 times in all competitions for the La Liga side, scoring seven times.

Featuring in the UEFA Champions League in both of his campaigns in the Spanish capital, he registered his first goal in the competition in March, 2025, scoring after just 27 seconds in a round of 16 tie against Atletico’s city rivals Real Madrid. In doing so, he became the first Englishman to score in the Madrid derby. It was also the fastest goal scored by an Englishman in the history of the Champions League.

Representing England across numerous age groups, Conor was part of the Young Lions side which lifted the Under-17 World Cup in 2017 before he was called up to the senior side for the first time in November, 2021, earning his first cap shortly after in a 10-0 victory over San Marino.

Called up by his country for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2024 UEFA European Championship, where he helped England to the Berlin final, he netted his first England goal in November, 2024, coming in a UEFA Nations League fixture against the Republic of Ireland. To date, he has 22 senior caps to his name.

New contract for Ella Morris - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

We are delighted to announce that Ella Morris has signed a new, long-term contract with the Club.

Having joined us in July, 2024, the 23-year-old impressed in her debut season in the Barclays Women’s Super League last term, earning her first call-up to the Lionesses senior squad in May last year. Ella is currently on the journey to recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that has ruled her out since the end of last season.

Ella Morris said: “I’m very excited. It’s an amazing club to be a part of. Just seeing the growth of the team from last season to this season, how Martin (Ho) has come in and given the girls a sense of belief. It’s an exciting time to be a part of it, where we’re pushing in the league now. It’s definitely a club with ambition, and a club I want to be a part of.”

Our Head Coach Martin said: “Ella is one of the most exciting young full-backs in the country and we are absolutely delighted that she has committed her future to Tottenham Hotspur. To earn a Lionesses call-up at such a young age says everything about her quality, and the way she has attacked her ACL recovery shows the mentality we value so highly here.

“From a football perspective, Ella gives us a rare profile, she is dynamic, powerful and brave, with the ability to defend at intensity and also impact the game in the attacking third. Her athleticism, timing of forward runs and quality in possession allow her to stretch teams, create overloads and bring real threat down the flank.

“We also believe she has significant scope to keep developing here, and our staff are excited about the areas we can add even more value to her game as she moves into the next phase of her career. As she returns to full fitness, we see Ella as a huge part of our future, and we can’t wait to have her back on the grass with the group again very soon.”

Previously at Southampton, where she made over 100 senior appearances for the Saints as an Academy graduate, the flying full-back made her Spurs and WSL debut away at Chelsea in October, 2024, after an injury-hampered start to the 2024/25 campaign.

The defender caught the eye with an impressive run of performances in the second half of the season, completing every minute in our last eight games in the WSL – featuring in 13 games in total – and scored her first goal for the Club in a league clash with Aston Villa in April, 2025.

Her excellent displays down the right flank saw her named the Club’s Junior Supporters’ Player of the Season 2024/25.

Watch Under-18s host Villa live on SPURSPLAY on Wednesday - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Our Under-18s will be back in action on Wednesday lunchtime, hosting Aston Villa at Hotspur Way (12pm UK).

Supporters will be able to watch the game live on SPURSPLAY, as Jamie Carr’s side aim to kick off the New Year with a good performance on home turf.

The postponement of last Saturday’s scheduled trip to West Bromwich Albion means we haven’t had a competitive Under-18s game since the 5-0 win at Fulham on 20 December, but the hard work has continued on the training pitches in the intervening time as we look to push on in the second half of the campaign.

We’re level with Villa in fourth and fifth place on 21 points apiece in the Under-18 Premier League’s southern division going into Wednesday’s contest, although the visitors have played one game fewer. They’re also still in the FA Youth Cup, with a trip to Fleetwood Town on the horizon next week.

Will Lankshear scores again as Jamie Donley makes Oxford debut - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Will Lankshear scored once again for Oxford United while Jamie Donley made his U's debut to help them through to the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.

At the start of the month, Jamie made the move to the Kassam to link up with Will - who made the loan move to Oxford in August - and both were picked to start as the Yellows headed east to face MK Dons in the cup.

Will was making his 26 appearance (his 19th start) of the campaign for Oxford and was once again in goalscoring form, bagging his second goal in as many games (his seventh strike of the season) to cancel out the hosts' 34th minute opener.

Jamie, who had moved to Oxfordshire on 2 January after being recalled from his spell at Stoke City, was thrust straight into the side for the trip to Stadium MK for his first start since August, although he was forced off 17 minutes into his debut with suspected concussion.

Will was also substituted before the game went into a period of extra-time and then a penalty shootout as the teams remained level at 1-1. Oxford then went on to book their place in round four with a 4-3 win on penalties.
