This partnership reflects a progressive approach to modern football operations - uniting two proven leaders with complementary experience, and a commitment to collaboration and innovation.

“I have been working with Johan, Vinai and Thomas as a consultant for a number of months and I now look forward to returning to London and joining the team full-time. I’m convinced that working in partnership with Johan we can build a special future for the Club and our supporters."

Victories for Porro, Vicario and Udogie as World Cup hopes grow - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Pedro Porro, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie's nations all enjoyed important wins as they continued in their respective fights for places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Beginning with Pedro and Spain, the full-back was once again selected to start for his nation as they hosted Bulgaria in Valladolid.

Earning his 14th cap for his country, the defender played the full 90 minutes to help his side to a 4-0 win, continuing their impeccable start to qualification.

Now four games in, Spain have won all four matches, scoring 15 goals in the process while they are also yet to concede.

Meanwhile, in Italy, Guglielmo and Destiny were unused substitutes as Italy closed the gap on Group I leaders Norway to three points with a 3-0 win over Manor Solomon's Israel.

The win means Italy have secured at least a play-off place for the tournament. They are likely going to need to win each of their remaining games while they will likely also need free-scoring Norway to drop points in their next outing - the visit of Estonia - if they are to secure automatic qualification.

Manor played 89 minutes of the game in Udine before being substituted.

Pape Matar Sarr helped Senegal secure their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night.

Senegal needed a win against Mauritania in Diamniadio tonight and they made no mistake of that, scoring four without reply to seal their spot at next summer's showpiece event.

Pape Matar Sarr was named amongst the substitutes for Senegal before he was brought into the action on 68 minutes with his side cruising at 3-0 thanks to a double from Sadio Mane and a strike from Iliman Ndiaye.

Habibou Diallo then scored a late fourth to make sure of the win.

It was Pape's 35th international cap while he is the 10th Spurs man to see his nation book their spot at the World Cup.

Internationals | Joao Palhinha's Portugal held late on - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Joao Palhinha's Portugal were moments away from qualifying for the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday evening.

Needing to defeat Hungary in Lisbon and hope Armenia dropped points against the Republic of Ireland to secure their spot with two games remaining, it was all going to plan as Portugal led 2-1 on 90 minutes while an Evan Ferguson goal had given the Republic victory in Dublin.

However, in added time, Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai broke Portuguese hearts with a late leveller in the Portugal capital.

Hungary had taken a shock lead at the home of Sporting CP as Attila Szalai had found the back of the net within nine minutes however a Cristiano Ronaldo double saw the game turn on its head before the break.

Joao, who had started on the bench, was introduced with just over 20 minutes to play as Roberto Martinez's side looked to see out the win, but they were unable to do so with Szoboszlai late levelled meaning Portugal still need another win to make sure of their spot in the North America tournament.

Thankfully, two games still remain for Portugal in November with a trip to the Republic before the visit of Armenia.

It was Joao's 37th appearance for his country.

Djed Spence played his part as England secured their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Needing a win to book their place in next summer's showpiece tournament, the Three Lions got that win - and in some style - as they ran out 5-0 winners over Latvia in Riga.

Djed, who retained his place having started for the first time for England on Thursday in their 3-0 win over Wales at Wembley, played the full 90 minutes as goals from Anthony Gordon, a double from our all-time leading goalscorer Harry Kane, an own goal and an Eberechi Eze strike saw Thomas Tuchel's seal their place at the tournament which will be hosted in North America.

It was Djed's third cap.

England will learn their World Cup opponents in December's group stage draw.

Once a Spur | Toni-Anne Wayne - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

In each matchday programme, to celebrate our 40th anniversary, we speak to a former Spurs player to look back at their career and get their thoughts on the current side ahead of our seventh season in the WSL.

Next up, it’s goalkeeper Toni-Anne Wayne as she reflects on a memorable four years at the Club….

What were your first memories when you joined the Club ahead of the 2014-15 season?

“When I first joined Spurs, I was a little apprehensive. I had played against them many times and they were a tough team who were quite aggressive and difficult to play against. I’m quite aggressive on the pitch too, but very quiet off it, so I wasn’t sure I would fit in. However, as soon as I joined, the girls were so lovely and we all had each other’s back - no matter what. The set-up at the time was not very advanced though, we still trained on a school field in summer and trained at the training ground at 8pm.”

Talk us through your journey with the Club, helping them to reach the WSL2 for the first-ever time?

“I’m really proud of where we got the team during my time at the Club. When I started, we were a mid-table team who liked socialising on a Sunday - whether we had a good or bad game. Once we started to win more than we lost, our mentality changed (with massive help from Karen Hill and Juan Amoros). We recruited quite a few players and we started to compete with the top two or three in the league. It was really tough journey as I lived an hour away so training three nights a week and then games at the weekend took its toll. However, when I look back at the journey, I’m just so proud. We went from strength to strength, and we went pretty much unbeaten the whole season and the played an amazing game against Cardiff to win 1-0 which set up the perfect finish to an incredible campaign, winning the league at White Hart Lane and earning promotion to the WSL 2 for the first time.”

Just talk to us about that 2016/17 campaign, winning the league at White Hart Lane before completing the treble with two cups?

“It was one of the best seasons that I have ever had in league football, as everything just seemed to go right. The hard work that us (players) and the staff had put in behind the scenes really paid off, everyone played their part and it felt like a massive team effort. That game at White Hart Lane was immense. We didn’t have the luxury of playing there too many times, and that was my only time there. We walked in and the staff surprised us all with names on our shirts and all our family were there in the stands. Then, to complete the treble with the cup competitions, it just rounded it off with a brilliant ending.”

Favourite memory while wearing the Lilywhite shirt?

“One of my favourite memories, as a personal moment, was when we beat Charlton Athletic on penalties in the FA Women’s Premier League Cup Final and I saved the winning spot-kick in the shootout. But, as a team, one of the best collective memories has to be lifting the trophy at White Hart Lane.”

Since your retirement, have you been keeping an eye on the Club’s progress?

“It has been amazing to watch the Club flourish, especially watching Ashleigh (Neville) and Kit (Graham) still being a part of the team, having played with them during my time. It just shows that the more support the Club has given to the Women's game, how much they can achieve and how far they have come in a short period of time. A part of me wishes it was within my time.”

Away from football, what have you been doing?

“I got back into playing after I had retired, however, I did my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in September, 2019, and I still have issues now, so I had to give up football because of that. I have been playing cricket for Colchester and hockey for Braintree. I was lucky enough to welcome my little girl Erin into the world in March, 2022, so life has been very full on since then - a three-year-old is more tiring than training three nights a week.”

How good has it been to see the growth of the Women's game and to have played a part in that?

“I'm really proud to have played a part in the growth of the women's game. For Spurs to have gone from playing on a school field to regularly playing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and to be a professional outfit is just amazing. But, for me, what is even better is that they aren't just in England’s top flight, but they are competing in the WSL and always striving for more. Having been part of the team that got them to the WSL in the first place will always be an amazing memory for me.”

Which of our players have earned most caps during their time at Spurs? - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Ben Davies became only the fourth player to reach 100 caps for Wales as he led his country out against Belgium on Monday evening.

Signed from Swansea, Ben had 10 caps to his name when he joined us in the summer of 2014. Over 11 years later, he's now only the third player to earn 90 caps for his country during his time at Spurs.

Indeed, 12 players have 50-plus caps during their time here...

Our first World Cup winner, Hugo led France to football's highest honour in 2018, beating Croatia 4-2 in the final in Moscow. Sitting eighth in our all-time appearance list on 447, most Premier League appearances as a Spur (361), the goalkeeper joined us from Lyon in 2012 and spent over 11 years in N17 - the majority as captain - until departing for LAFC in January, 2024.

Our longest serving player in the current squad and just the third to reach 90 caps for his country as a Spur, Ben made his full international debut in 2012 and had 10 to his name when he joined us in 2014. He's in the top 30 of our all-time appearances on 358 and second all-time in Europe, just three short of Harry Kane's 76.

The best goalkeeper in the world in his pomp, Pat earned 119 caps for Northern Ireland and played a huge role in his country qualifying for the World Cup Finals of 1982 - where they famously beat hosts Spain - and 1986, where Pat earned his last cap against Brazil. Signed in 1964, Pat is third in our all-time appearances on 590, topped only by Gary Mabbutt and Steve Perryman. FWA Footballer of the Year in 1973, PFA Players' Player in 1976, nominated three times for the Ballon d'Or, Pat won the FA Cup, two League Cups and the UEFA Cup during his time at Spurs.

A Spurs and Republic of Ireland legend, Robbie remains his country's record goalscorer and appearance maker with 68 goals in 146 caps earned from 1998-2016. He joined us just after his heroics at the 2002 World Cup, where he scored three goals, including 90th-minute equalisers against Germany and Spain. Keano is one of only 18 players to score 100-plus goals for us with 122 in 306 appearances, 2002-2011. One of the all-time greats of the MLS after winning a hat-trick of titles with LA Galaxy, Robbie is now manager of Ferencvaros in Hungary.

Spurs through and through, Chris spent 25 years here initially as a player, then coach and assistant manager. Twice an FA Cup winner, UEFA Cup winner in 1984, Chris earned all but two of his 53 caps for Republic of Ireland as a Spur. What times he had as well - under Jack Charlton, the Republic qualified for Euro 88 and reached the quarter-finals of the 1990 World Cup. Chris has had spells as manager at Newcastle, Norwich, Brighton and Forest and, most recently, took Ghana to the 2023 AFCON tournament.

Mikey Moore scored within a minute of stepping off the bench on Tuesday afternoon to extend his October international break goals tally to four.

Having hit a hat-trick for the Young Lions on Saturday in a 4-1 win over Belgium, the forward found the back of the net once more as his nation enjoyed a 7-0 win over Wales at La Quinta Football Centre.

Off the back of the 20-minute treble, Mikey entered Tuesday's action alongside Callum Olusesi with 67 minutes played and his side four to the good.

And within 60 seconds of stepping onto the pitch, he had the ball in the back of the net, before England completely ran away with proceedings to find 'seventh heaven'.

Description

Ben Davies became only the fourth player to reach a century of caps for Wales when he led his country out against Belgium on Monday evening.

Our longest-serving player follows in the footsteps of two former Spurs players - Gareth Bale and Chris Gunter - and goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to hit three figures. Bale tops the list on 111, Gunter and Hennessey reached 109.

Ben joined us on 23 July, 2014 from Swansea. He progressed through Swansea's Academy to make 85 appearances in all competitions, including lifting the League Cup in 2013. He'd earned 10 caps on joining us.

Ben has completed 11 full seasons as a Spurs player. He made his debut for us in Europe - the Europa League play-off, first leg against AEL Limassol in Cyprus on 21 August, 2014.

Ben is one of only 29 players to make over 350 appearances for us since we joined the Football League in 1908. He's currently level on 358 with Darren Anderton. He has a couple of former team-mates in his sights - Eric Dier (365) and Aaron Lennon (367).

Appearances in all competitions

Ben is currently 10th in our all-time Premier League appearance list on 242, a list topped by his former team-mates Hugo Lloris, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.

Premier League appearances

Ben is just three appearances away from joining and four from overtaking Harry Kane at the top of our all-time European appearances list. Harry made 76 between his debut against Hearts in the Europa League in 2011 and departing in 2023. Ben moved up into second last season.
