Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has confirmed that 2025 Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele could be back for his side on Wednesday night.

As we head to Paris to take on the UEFA Champions League holders Parc de Princes, Dembele, who scored 35 goals in 53 games last term, is expected to return from an injury which has kept him out since PSG's 3-1 defeat to FC Bayern at the start of the month.

60 seconds on PSG | Andy Brassell, European football expert - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

One of the voices of European football on talkSPORT and Sky Sports, well known for The Football Ramble podcast, an author and writer for The Guardian - and a regular contributor here at Spurs for almost 10 years - Andy Brassell will give his view on our UEFA Champions League opponents as part of our '60 seconds on...' pre-match feature this season.

Next up, it's MD5 and having faced them in in the UEFA Super Cup in August, it's our first Champions League encounter against holders and Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain, at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening (8pm UK).

@andybrassell

State of play

Andy: “PSG played Le Havre this weekend and it was, I guess, a fair example of where they're at at the moment. Obviously, they're still the best team in Ligue 1, though they're getting some competition from Marseille, who've been very, very good this season. In the circumstances, they've done very well to stay top. Now, look, it might seem to a lot of people like it's obvious that PSG are top - they're the European champions, they're the best team in France, they're the wealthiest club in France, etc... but their schedule has been so extraordinary, really, over the last couple of years. They played every match it was possible to play last season, because they played in the play-off round of the Champions League as they didn't finish particularly high up in the league stage. Indeed, five, six matches into the league stage, it was in doubt whether they'd actually go through in the top 24. Then, at the end of the season, they played in the Club World Cup. So, this season was always going to be a bit of a balancing act - how do they manage the physical condition of the players? On the whole, Luis Enrique has done that quite well. They've had as many injuries as I think you would reasonably expect, but they've dealt with that quite well."

Chevalier impresses against Le Havre

Andy: "Saturday’s game against Le Havre was quite a good case in point. In the end, they won comfortably. You look at the numbers, they had loads of the ball, loads of shots, but Didier Digard, the former Middlesbrough player who is now Head Coach at Le Havre, got them to go there and play quite bravely and have a go at PSG in the first half, which nearly worked. Lucas Chevalier had one of his best games since arriving in Paris. He was really, really good. Obviously, it's a big ask trying to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma, he’s a different type of goalkeeper, but nevertheless he's got a huge thing to live up to succeeding Donnarumma in that way, especially after how he was the best goalkeeper in the Champions League last season. However, Chevalier was really good and they needed him to be, which maybe people would not expect."

PSG personnel - Neves the one to watch

Andy: "In terms of personnel, it was all good news for them against Le Havre. Nuno Mendes came back after his injury and he's the best left-back in the world. They desperately needed him, especially with Achraf Hakimi out on the other side. Warren Zaire-Emery, a midfielder, is playing right-back at the moment. Mendes got an assist as well. They were able to leave Marquinhos and Willian Pacho on the bench, unused subs, and bring back Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Fabián Ruiz and Bradley Barcola for little cameos. Barcola has played an extraordinary amount of football - over 90 games in the last 16 months, which is pretty insane! If you're looking at the dangermen for Spurs, João Neves is maybe, you could even argue, the best midfield player in the world at the moment. He's so, so good. He's scored again against Le Havre and he’s added goals to his game this season, including a hat-trick against Toulouse and for Portugal against Armenia last week."

PSG's story so far in this season's UCL

Andy: "This time around in the Champions League we've seen PSG - I guess because of their brush with not qualifying last season, which is remarkable given that they ended up winning it - go out and flattened teams. They scored four goals against Atalanta (4-0 win), seven against Bayer Leverkusen (7-2 away). They don't really want to leave anything to chance this time. So, you'd expect them to feel a strong line-up on Wednesday night. The team that Luis Enrique picked against Le Havre suggested that he will use Fabián Ruiz, Kvaratskhelia and Barcola probably from the start. So, even though they're missing Ousmane Dembélé and Desiré Doué, who are both still injured, they've still got plenty of options. I think the way that Enrique is juggling his resources - which are obviously very good resources - but they do have injuries to absolutely key players at the moment so, as I said, I think he's doing it very well."

Brennan Johnson out of Paris Saint-Germain UEFA Champions League clash - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Brennan Johnson will be unavailable for selection when we take on Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

As we look to continue our unbeaten start to the competition's League Phase when we make the midweek trip to Paris, Brennan will unfortunately not be able to play as he is suspended for the game following his red card against FC Copenhagen last time out.

Scorer of the opener on Matchday Four as we ran out 4-0 winners over the Danish side, the forward was shown a red card following a VAR review just before the hour mark for his challenge on Marcos Lopez.

The dismissal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium means an automatic one-game ban for the Wales international meaning Thomas Frank will not be able to call on him at the Parc de Princes.

Micky van de Ven, Richarlison and Randal Kolo Muani go into this game at risk of suspension for December's clash with Slavia Prague. All three head to Paris having had two bookings each in the campaign so far. A further yellow card in Paris would rule them out of the meeting with the Czech side next month.

‘Opportunities like this are everything’ | More young entrepreneurs launch businesses thanks to Foundation support - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

The latest young entrepreneurs to receive start-up funding after taking part in Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s Start Something programme have been announced.

Start Something is an eight-week business-building bootcamp for local residents aged 18-30 that culminates in a Dragon’s Den-style pitch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was launched to address a lack of funding for young people interested in starting their own businesses, with the Foundation aiming to support entrepreneurs in Haringey and Enfield as part of its wider employment and skills work.

Start Something activities are delivered by Enterprise Nation, with Club partner Socios.com funding the programme through its social impact arm, Socios.com Supports, and helping mentor participants.

Up to £1,000 of seed money is up for grabs on pitch night, with funds awarded based on delivery, traction, potential impact, plans for the future and use of investment money.

Judging this latest round was Marc Leckie, Foundation chief executive, Polly Dhaliwal, Enterprise Nation COO, James Baxter, business information centre manager for Enfield Council, and Sebastien Dieguez, global senior PR manager for Socios.com.

They awarded the top prize to Joe Jacobs, 22, and his sustainable menswear company, whilst Farihaa Motala, 26, took £500 for her plant-based brownie venture.

Joe said: “I did it! It’s given me real belief and I think opportunities like this for young entrepreneurs, especially from Tottenham, are everything.

“You might have an idea and the willpower to do it, but sometimes you need that foot in the door.

“Start Something’s not about winning. It’s about your whole process through it. I’m now in a position where I fully know my next steps, where I want to go, my why, and that’s from this course.”

Farihaa added: “I’m so happy. Without this, it would have taken a lot longer to get to the space I want to get to.

“Being part of the programme has been really informative, with the workshops run by people who are knowledgeable and passionate. I’ve learned quite a lot of things I wouldn’t have if I wasn’t part of the cohort.”

Monica Yohannes, Foundation project coordinator, said: “We’re wishing Joe and Farihaa every success with the business ideas they’ve drawn up over the last eight weeks. We’re excited to see where their journeys go from here, and we’re proud of the really high standard of pitches from all the participants.”

The number of Brits thinking about starting a business in 2024 had risen to 35%, with this figure rising to more than half among young adults aged 18 to 24.

Start Something is helping bridge the gap for future business leaders, with Ruun Adan’s Wellbeing Through Wealth and Mariana Pihur’s The Language Developer having received funding earlier this year, following Nathan Mubenga’s Benga Bars and Alisha Ahmed’s AlishEra clothing brand during the inaugural cohort.

All alumni will continue to be supported through workshops and masterclasses in 2026, with the Foundation hoping to spur even more start-ups across the local area.
