Victory over Bodø/Glimt marks a century of wins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Our Europa League semi-final first leg victory over Bodø/Glimt marked our 100th win in all competitions at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Defeating the Norwegian side 3-1 to take a two-goal advantage to Norway for next week's decisive return leg, the win saw us reach a century of wins at our world class home.

Since moving back to N17 in April, 2019, following the completion of our 62,850-seater home, we have now played 158 games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, winning 100, drawing 16 and losing 42.

The three goals in the win over the Norwegians saw us reach 320 goals scored at our six-year-old home while we have conceded 178 (+142).

We remain unbeaten at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in both the Europa League and Europa Conference League, playing 16 games across the competitions.

We made the perfect start to life at our new home by defeating Crystal Palace 2-0 on opening night back in April, 2019.

Our 25th victory at the stadium came in November, 2020, when we ran out 4-0 winners over Ludogorets in the UEFA Europa League group stage.

We reached our half century of victories in February, 2022, with another cup win as we ran out 3-1 victors over Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Our 75th win came last season as we dispatched Fulham 2-0 in the Premier League in October, 2023.

Brennan Johnson scores fastest-ever goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Brennan Johnson has taken the crown for the fastest ever competitive goal scored at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The forward headed home our opener in Thursday night's 3-1 Europa league semi-final first-leg win over Bodø-Glimt with just 39 seconds on the clock - the fastest a Spurs player has scored a competitive goal at the Stadium.

The strike took the record that Heung-Min Son had held for his 45 second effort in our 3-3 draw with West Ham United in October, 2020.

There has been a quicker goal scored at our world-class home in a friendly game as Dejan Kulusevski found the back of the net with just 23 seconds on the clock last summer.

Johnson's goal also made history as the quickest ever goal in a Europa League semi-final.

Robert Vilahamn reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of our Barclays Women’s Super League clash with Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Hayley Raso and Luana Buhler remain unavailable for the London derby in N17 and are unlikely to return before the conclusion of the campaign, while Kit Graham (ACL) remains a long-term absentee.

However, our Head Coach revealed that everyone else is available and in contention for Sunday’s encounter with the Blues.

This includes the return of midfielders Eveliina Summanen and Drew Spence after they served their one-match suspension against the Reds last time out.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Robert said: "Drew and Eveliina will return from suspension, while we have no new injuries, so we're looking strong."

Ange Postecoglou on Lucas Bergvall: "I've no doubt he'll come back stronger"

Ange Postecoglou on Lucas Bergvall: "I've no doubt he'll come back stronger" - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Ange Postecoglou had words of encouragement for Lucas Bergvall after revealing that the young midfielder looks likely to miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.

Ange told the media at Hotspur Way on Friday that the Sweden international had tweaked ankle ligaments in an innocuous incident on his own in training on Wednesday.

That forced him out of Thursday night's UEFA Europa League semi-final, first leg against Bodo/Glimt and, unfortunately, Ange reports that the injury 'is significant enough to probably keep him out now for the rest of the season'.

It's a huge blow for Lucas, who has impressed everyone in his first season. Still only 19, he's featured in 45 of our 54 matches in all competitions and, until the semi-final, was our only ever-present in the UEL, featuring in all 12 matches up to Thursday night. He signed a new deal to 2031 as recently as Wednesday.

Speaking to the media, Ange was asked how Lucas may react to the news. "He's hugely disappointed. There's not much you can say, except that every experience in life and football makes you stronger, makes you appreciate what you have and he's got an unbelievable career ahead of him, for sure.

"I say to the guys all the time, we've got to take what's before us now. We can all assume that it will happen next year or the year after but you just don't know, sometimes life works in mysterious ways and it's denied Lucas the opportunity to play in a massive game last night.

"He's been a massive contributor for us, but I've no doubt he'll come back stronger. Sometimes, you look at footballers and their careers and we think they've got it all good, but every player has to go through setbacks at different times for different reasons and it's all part of what makes them stronger and allows them grow, and I'm sure that will be the case with Lucas."

Maddison sent for scan, Solanke a doubt

Team news | Maddison sent for scan, Solanke a doubt - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Ange Postecoglou has provided a fitness update on James Maddison and Dominic Solanke after the pair were forced off in the second half of our 3-1 win against Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of our UEFA Europa League semi-final on Thursday night.

Both had made their mark on the night before being replaced, Madders doubling our lead with a sumptuous first touch and composed finish on 34 minutes and Dom showing coolness under pressure again to slot home from the penalty spot to extend our lead just past the hour mark.

However, it wasn’t long after the third goal that our number 10 was forced off looking in some discomfort with a knee issue in the 65th minute before our striker also departed 10 minutes later after feeling something in his quad.

Although the nature of both withdrawals were seen as precautionary on the night, our Head Coach has admitted some concern over Madders' injury but said Dom isn't 'too bad' yet is a doubt for Sunday's Premier League trip to West Ham United.

"Dom's not too bad," reported Ange, speaking in his pre-West Ham press conference on Friday afternoon. "He's still a bit sore from last night, but we don't think it's anything serious. He's obviously a doubt for the weekend, but, as I said, we're hoping it will settle down pretty quickly.

"Madders is a bit more of a concern, because it's a knee. We've sent him for a scan and just wait to hear the outcome."

Update | Lucas Bergvall - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Lucas Bergvall's season is likely over after he sustained an ankle injury in training.

Lucas was forced to sit out of Thursday night's Europa League semi-final first-leg win over Bodø/Glimt after Ange reported that he had tweaked his ankle.

However, it now looks like the midfielder will now miss the rest of our 2024/25 campaign after sustaining damage to ligaments in his ankle.

Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon ahead of Sunday's trip to West Ham United, Ange told reporters, "With Lucas, it looks like the injury is significant enough to probably keep him out now for the rest of the season. He tweaked his ligaments in his ankle so he is out."

Asked later how the injury came about, Ange said: "It's something you see all the time. It wasn't a tackle, he was on his own, he just went to turn and his ankle gave way. It's one of those things, similar to Dom (Solanke, earlier in the season) and others we've had in training. These things happen."

Dominic Solanke: “When we’re all together as one - players, fans - it feels so special”

Dominic Solanke: “When we’re all together as one - players, fans - it feels so special” - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Dominic Solanke told us these were the nights all footballers dream of - and he had his dream moment in front of the South Stand as we secured a 3-1 win against Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of our UEFA Europa League semi-final on Thursday night.

The striker was handed the responsibility from the spot after Cuti Romero was fouled by Jens Petter Hauge on the hour. As the 60,000 Spurs fans in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium held their collective breath, it felt like Dominic was in another zone all together - a look, a couple of steps and a side-foot into the corner like he was playing in the park, let alone a semi-final of a major European competition.

That made it 3-0 after first half goals from Brennan Johnson and James Maddison. Further chances came and went as we racked up 23-2 efforts at goal, only for the Norwegian champions to grab a goal back late on, leaving it all to play for in Bodo next week - a place in the final in Bilbao up for grabs.

Dominic and his team-mates were certainly struck by the atmosphere inside the stadium, as he told us on the Review Show. “The fans made the atmosphere great from the start. We were all pumped, I’m sure they were too, and to get that early goal was surreal really, to start the game like that definitely gave us an early boost.

“That’s what the fans can do, you know, when we’re all together as one - players, fans - it feels so special. We knew from minute one that everyone was behind us. We came out and saw the white shirts everywhere, the flags waving, it gave us that extra motivation and confidence and that’s what we love coming and playing for.”

Dominic on what it was like walking out into the stadium...

“Yeah, magnificent, really. I think these are the games that we dream of playing in as footballers, you know, big games, semi-finals, finals, obviously at home with the atmosphere rocking like that, that makes it 10 times better.”

Dominic on the game plan, particularly a patience in how we pressed...

“Tournament football is a bit different. If you make too many mistakes, you can get a punished and then it's hard to get back into the game. We’re a super pressing team, but we know if we’re not set up right we need to make sure we don’t make too many mistakes in our pressing, we want to press but it’s not always the right time.”

Dominic on the penalty...

“I think I was a little bit too cool today! It was it was another nice penalty, great to get another goal in a big game like this, delighted.”

Dominic on the feeling of slotting home that spot-kick in front of the South Stand...

“Yes, it's a real feeling. Like I just said, playing in these games is what we all dream of and scoring is even better. I was delighted to get on the scoresheet.”

Dominic on the second leg in Bodo...

“We know how good they are at home, we knew that from the second they got through and that we were going to play them. We knew it was going to be tough, but we wanted to use that home advantage today, which we did. Conditions over there will be different to what we're used to, but we’ll prepare just as hard.”

Dominic on the atmosphere again - and wanting more...

“Yeah, look, 100% we all want to win trophies, the players the staff, we know the fans have been waiting for a few years now, so hopefully we can do it. We know we haven't been good enough in the league this year, but if we can manage to go on and win this, it will go a long way...”
