Seven Sisters

Victoria line services will be operating every 2-3 minutes in each direction before and after the game.

Pre-match, a diversion route will be in place at Birstall Road for pedestrians entering Seven Sisters station for interchange between the Victoria line and London Overground services. This is to avoid congestion on the northbound platform.

At each station, the queue management staff are in contact with the Station Managers who will confirm when platforms are clear to enable more passengers to enter the station. Confirmed line-ups for PSG vs Spurs on 13 August 2025 - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Thomas Frank has named his starting side for tonight's UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain at Stadio Friuli, Italy (kick-off 8pm UK).

In what is our first competitive outing under our new Head Coach, Thomas has made one change with Kevin Danso replacing Brennan Johnson from our last outing as we compete in this major European competition for the very first time.

Newly-appointed captain Cristian Romero leads the side out once again in a European final - just like he did against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League in Bilbao - aiming to win his first trophy as a Spurs skipper up against reigning UEFA Champions League winners PSG.

As two European champions collide in Udine, it's a homecoming for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario who is a local hero in these parts having grown up in the city and progressed through the Italian side's academy. Summer additions Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha also make their competitive debuts for the Club.

Dominic Solanke, who has missed most of pre-season through injury, is involved for the first time since our maiden pre-season outing at Reading with a place amongst our substitutes alongside 16-year-old Academy defender Jun'ai Byfield for his first involvement in a competitive first team fixture.

Starting XI: Vicario, Pedro Porro, Romero (c), Danso, van de Ven, Bentancur, Palhinha, Kudus, Sarr, Spence, Richarlison.

Substitutes: Kinsky, Austin, Davies, Vuskovic, Byfield, Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Johnson, Tel, Solanke.

‘It pushes us to different levels’ - Neville on performance camp in Spain - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

The combination of warm weather and hard work in Spain has got Ashleigh Neville relishing her seventh season in the Barclays Women’s Super League this campaign.

As part of ongoing preparations for the 2025/26 WSL season, we’ve travelled to southern Spain for a week of intense training – and we are already into day three of the performance camp.

While putting in the work on the training pitch, we’ll also face Sevilla in our first pre-season friendly on Friday 15 August (7pm UK time), which will be available to watch on SPURSPLAY, giving supporters the opportunity to watch Martin Ho’s side for the first time.

Our longest-serving player in the squad, set to embark on her ninth with the Club, ‘Ash’ believes the change of scenery was much-needed to help build relationships between players and staff.

“It’s great to be out here with the team,” she told us. “It’s a different environment, it’s always good for everyone to get away into a new setting but also still be able to come here and do a week of intense training to help us push towards the first game of the season.

“We know the weather is a lot warmer, but I think it just tests us and pushes the squad to different levels. I think it also brings us together as a team, there's a lot of team-building exercises that we're going do out here and spend a lot of time together. I know most of the team was here from last season, but we've got some Academy players here with us and also Toko [Koga] joining us.

“It's just great for us to keep pushing together and using this time for us to build those relationships, on and off the pitch.”

Joining us in June from SK Brann, Martin is now into his fourth week of pre-season with the squad, and the experienced defender says the spirits have been high in camp.

Watch | Mic'd up with Martin Ho

“He has been good,” added the defender. “He has come in and set his standards from day one and it's pushed everyone to be at their best.

“Having someone new come in, it's kind of a clean slate for everyone, so we’re all pushing on and looking forward to that first game of the season. Everyone's in good shape and in good spirits, especially with Martin coming in and the quality he's brought in, on and off the pitch is great for us.”

The intense work on the pitch in Spain is all part of preparing for our WSL season opener at home to West Ham United on Sunday 7 September (12pm UK) – tickets available to buy – and Ash is excited to get going once again.

“Being at home and being a London Derby against West Ham, it will be a good one to open with,” she smiled.

“We're excited to begin at home and hopefully we can get a lot of fans there watching. But I think it will be here before we know it, so we're making the most of our time here together.”

Cristian Romero on captaincy: "This is amazing for me" - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Cristian Romero has spoken of his pride after being named captain by Thomas Frank.

The announcement of Cuti's appointment came on Wednesday morning and he will officially lead the team out for the first time when we face PSG in the UEFA Super Cup in Udine, Italy this evening (8pm UK).

Named as one of Heung-Min Son's vice-captains alongside James Maddison in August, 2023, Cuti now takes over the armband as he prepares for his fifth season as a Spur, having joined us in the summer of 2021.

Speaking to us from Udine, Cuti said: "I’m very happy to be the first team captain of the club. It’s amazing for me.

"Today, we (Cuti and Thomas) spoke before training. Maybe before the start of the season I’ve spoken a lot with him. He’s a good coach and I said, ‘thank you’ for this, also.

“It’s a big responsibility. I spoke with the players and tomorrow is also another big night for the club, for the players, for the fans, we need to enjoy this moment."

Asked for a message to the fans ahead of the UEFA showpiece, Cuti added: "Enjoy this match, enjoy this moment. The last 20 years, the club is sometimes good, close to winning, so enjoy this moment. To win another trophy at the start of the season would be amazing.

"It’s football. Sometimes bad moments, sometimes good moments, but the most important thing is to be all together like this, starting with another big night for the club, Saturday, the start of another season for us, the most important thing is to stay all together. We want to win."

Thomas Frank names Cristian Romero as captain - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Cristian Romero has been named as our new captain by Thomas Frank following the departure of Heung-Min Son.

'Cuti' was appointed Sonny's vice-captain alongside James Maddison in August, 2023 and now takes over the armband.

Thomas will name his leadership group following the close of the summer transfer window.

Speaking to us in Udine, Italy, ahead of the UEFA Super Cup against PSG at Stadio Friuli on Wednesday evening (8pm UK), Thomas said: "I had a good conversation with Cuti Romero, and he’s going to be our captain.

"He was very honoured and very happy about it. It’s a big thing and should be to lead this wonderful club out on the pitch, not just for this Super Cup, but also throughout the season.

"I think he has all the right qualities. He leads from his behaviour on the pitch, driving the team forward in every way, and outside the pitch he’s always pushing the team.

"I want a leadership group as well. Of course, one will wear the armband and be the captain, but I would like to have as many leaders as possible, four to five in the leadership group who can help, because it’s the same with me, I can’t do everything on my own and need a superb coaching staff around me. I will name that leadership group after the window to give me time to assess everything."

World Cup winner Cuti, 27, joined us from Atalanta in the summer of 2021, having just been named 'Best Defender' in Serie A in 2020/21. He is now up to 100 appearances for us in all competitions, and his central defensive partnership with Micky van de Ven was key in our UEFA Europa League triumph last season.

Loan update | Ajayi scores, Donley spot on for Stoke - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Damola Ajayi marked his first start for Doncaster Rovers with a goal in their 4-0 victory at Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, while Jamie Donley scored in Stoke City’s penalty shootout win over Walsall as a number of our loan players tasted Carabao Cup first round success.

Forward Damola, who had come on as a substitute in each of Doncaster’s first two League One fixtures of the season – respective wins over Exeter City and Mansfield Town, the former marking his league debut – was on hand to swipe home his side’s second goal of the night mid-way through the first half in their convincing win at the Riverside. He played 65 minutes before being withdrawn.

Fellow attacker Jamie, who supplied an assist on his Championship debut for Stoke on Saturday, helping them to a 3-1 home win over Derby, marked his first start and completed the full 90 for the Potters along with Ashley Phillips as they went through after a 4-3 shootout win against Walsall at the bet265 Stadium. Jamie went close twice during the game, seeing a shot from the edge of the box tipped wide before crashing a subsequent effort against the woodwork. The tie ended goalless, but Jamie scored one of Stoke’s spot-kicks to help them reach round two.

George Abbott is also into the next round after playing the first hour of Wycombe Wanderers’ 1-0 win at Leyton Orient on Tuesday – his second appearance for them after a similar stint in Saturday’s League One opener at home to Stockport County, which Wanderers lost 2-1. His central midfield colleague Tyrese Hall featured off the bench for Notts County in their 1-0 first round defeat at Wigan Athletic, having come on for his senior debut in Saturday’s 2-1 home loss to Salford City in League Two.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Will Lankshear started for Oxford United as they saw off Colchester United 1-0 at home. Will also started Oxford’s Championship curtain-raiser at home to Portsmouth on Saturday, which ended 1-0 to Pompey. Yang Min-Hyeok came off the bench for Portsmouth that day, but played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday as they suffered a 2-1 cup defeat at home to Reading.

Alfie Devine helped Preston North End advance in the cup with a 1-0 victory at Barrow on Tuesday, starting for his new loan side for the first time after a 15-minute cameo in Saturday’s 1-1 Championship draw at Queens Park Rangers.

Meanwhile, centre-back Alfie Dorrington made the first appearance of his second loan spell at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen at the weekend with a 90-minute stint in their 2-0 home defeat by Celtic. Striker Alejo Veliz has been a regular starter for Rosario Central in recent weeks, most recently featuring in a goalless draw at Atletico Tucuman on Sunday.

Every word of Thomas Frank's press conference in Udine - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Thomas Frank spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon ahead of our UEFA Super Cup clash against PSG at Stadio Friuli on Wednesday evening (8pm UK).

Here's what he had to say...

How excited is the club to have a chance of another trophy?

"I think for the club, for the team, for me, for everybody involved at Tottenham Hotspur, it's a massive game. A great challenge and an even bigger opportunity. That's how my brain works, I see opportunities instead of pressure or whatever. So for me, massive opportunity and we will definitely embrace it and we will do everything."

Ben Davies said you've worked a lot on the structure, can you expand a bit on that?

"That's not only for this game but over the course of pre-season. I'm a big believer of principles and structure in the team, offensively and defensively, so for me there needs to be clear structure in phase one and phase two when we're building up and want to control the game, also in phase three when you want to score. Also, there's the other way round in high pressure, middle pressure and defending the box, so that we work on and hopefully it's perfect tomorrow. We're playing an okay team that did reasonable well last year, but that we are ready for."

Injury-wise, are there any fresh injuries, we've seen Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie and Radu Dragusin have travelled, can any of them play a part?

"The players that have that little bit longer, the longer terms are here for backing the team and being part of the group. Dom is the positive one, he's available for selection tomorrow, so that's very good. Destiny is closer and getting closer to training with the group. So, those are two big ones, and then Bissouma has not travelled with the team because of disciplinary reasons."

Is Cristian Romero going to be an important and experienced player for the team?

"Cristian Romeo is going to be a very, very big, an important player for us tomorrow. He's a player that has been in big finals and won them. So he definitely knows how we do that and that'll be a big help. I think it's very important that these players, of course just like the PSG players, but just, you know, my players, our players, they just won a big trophy six or seven weeks ago, so they had a fantastic experience of doing that and they want to win more. It was a great feeling, everything I heard about it, everything I've seen, fantastic experience. So the players will be ready, but of course, Romero will be crucial."

Do you have a special plan to stop Khvicha Kvaratskhelia?

"I could say a few things but I’m probably not allowed to just kick him down. He is a special player, a unique talent. The way he drives with the ball and his one vs one skills are exceptional. I followed him for quite a while, both in Naples and with the national team, now PSG. But with all due respect, he is just a human, a very good player but we have good defenders and a good plan. I’m comfortable we can keep him quiet enough. It is impossible to keep him totally quiet."

Is there an advantage having a longer break than PSG?

"Of course we have had a more normal pre-season which is what I think every coach would prefer. A long pre-season to lead into an important game on the first day of the season. In that way it can be an advantage. The flipside, and I'm always quite pragmatic because there are pros and cons to everything, they have had a long season, they have played a lot of games recently. I can’t remember how many weeks it is maybe four or five weeks ago. That is still in the body and now they have got that freshness back which is so important to play these games. It will be a competitive game and there will be pros and cons for both teams tomorrow."

What are the exact disciplinary issues with Bissouma?

"He has been late several times and the latest time was one too many. With everything you need to give your players a lot of love, but also have demands and there also needs to be consequences, and this time there was a consequence for that."

How ready are you for the start of the season?

"I think I have a good team and a good squad. This transfer window, we are definitely in the market and will do everything we can to make the best possible and strong squad for September 1 so there are a few things in the air shall we say along the way. The last two days, we trained Sunday, Monday, two top training sessions. Nice, light training and we will be ready tomorrow."

Is it the right time for the final against PSG or did you need more time?

"The right time is now so we need to be ready. I can't postpone it for six weeks unless you have a plan for that. For me, now is the right time. We're ready. It's fair to say they are probably a little bit further down the line in terms of their highest performance level. I am 100 per cent sure it will be super competitive tomorrow in the game but overall of course over a whole season their best players performed better. But in one game, we will be ready."

What do you think about Eberechi Eze and would you like him to sign for Tottenham?

"There are a lot of good players out there, there are also a few from the PSG team but I don't think we can buy them right now. In general, players in and players out, I'm only speaking if something is done or not done. I speak only about my own players."

What does Antonin Kinsky's future hold as there were suggestions he would be sent out on loan this season?

"He's a very good goalkeeper, very pleased with him. We are privileged to have three good goalkeepers in Vicario, Antonin and Brandon. There was good competition last year. Clearly we need good keepers in the squad. Antonin in my opinion has a great future ahead of him and he is clearly a Tottenham player this season."

What does Bissouma have to do to build bridges with you and the squad and also have you decided on your captain for the season?

"For me there has been, how can I say it, a consequence for this trip and then I will follow up when I come home. I will park it now because there is a relatively important game for tomorrow. The captain will be announced for the squad tomorrow. The leadership group will be named at the end of this month."
